I got estimates from at least 5 pool builders but Anthony & Sylvan won me over with their designer Robert Stewart and his boss Jim. Chris Whitlock was my Project Manager and we created a group text to ensure I was kept in the loop. They still answer my questions within moments and my pool has been completed for 6 months now. Chris told us it would take 10-12 weeks to complete and they did it in eleven. I've read my share of bad reviews but none of them applied to my experience. And there was no price gouging. We were told from the start to find our own landscaper or we would incur a 10% up charge. Devon held our pool school which we video taped and we learned everything necessary to maintain the pool ourselves. We get compliments from everyone that visits and Anthony & Sylvan even took promotional photos of our pool. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking to build a pool and I'd use them again if we move back East. read more

They are the least caring builders I have experienced with building over 7 pools in the past 30 years worth of experience and several pool builders. I strongly recommend that you RUN from them before ever using them!! We've had to call several different times about the pool heater. The first time they came out, they fixed it temporarily to where it took several hours to heat our Jacuzzi and a whole 24 hours to heat our pool. We expressed that it was not OK and the problem needs to be completely fixed. Our pool is only two years old and the heater has already gone gone out. From what I'm hearing they use refurbished parts for their projects. I'm hoping that's not true. I called and left a message for someone to call me back, I still haven't heard back from them. It's been over a week. My guess is the company wants to wait until our warranty is up so they don't have to be liable to fix it. This is absolutely ridiculous. read more

"As per the contract terms, Anthony & Sylvan Pools warrants that the interior finish of your pool will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date original application" Seriously I can't make this up. Run from this company. Nothing has been done correctly and they have zero follow through. Our fire feature has been jackhammered multiple times and still has a huge whole in the concrete. Although we started and completed 3/4 of this project whilst still living in Chicago, his communications, problem solving skills and regular updates made us feel like we were actually there for the whole process. Extremely Frustrating and Disappointing Experience We started the process of building our pool in May 2024, and as of December 2024, it still isn't finished. The lack of communication and delays have been beyond frustrating. Our first account manager was unresponsive and never answered our calls. We were then assigned a second account manager, but the issues didn't improve. Apparently, they weren't getting any updates from the City of North Las Vegas, and when we asked for clarification, the response we got was essentially, "I don't know what to tell you. You might want to go down there yourself." After taking matters into our own hands and going to the city, a representative came out and gave the approval to move forward. But even after that, things stalled again. Then, we had a situation with the soil testing. The dirt had already been compressed and did not need another test, but when I asked my account manager about it, he didn't respond to multiple calls and messages. After several days, he finally replied, saying he didn't realize the pool compressor had already been done--despite having been to our property several times. To make matters worse, because there wasn't a proper access door for the contractors to use, my little dog had to do her business in the backyard, which caused a lot of stress. Unfortunately, my dog got loose and was picked up by animal control. I had to pay pawning fees to get her back, and she's now traumatized by the whole experience. This entire process has been filled with delays, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. It's been a huge source of stress, and the experience has been far from the professional service we expected. At this point, we have not clue as to when the pool will be done. read more

We bought a house in Las Vegas, and our realtor recommended Anthony and Sylvan Pools. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We were unable to be present for the first part of the build, so Thomas, our project manager, kept us updated on every step with emails and pictures every two to three days. From the very first meeting to our finished product, we had the best experience. The tradespeople were amazing and left the place so clean when they were done! We are enjoying our pool now and still hear from Thomas, our project manager, to make sure everything is going well and he is always available to help if we need it. I have been waiting over 4 months for a warranty repair. No calls no communication and no repair! They get your money but won't back up their product. A simple repair will now have to be a major one because no one will call you or communicate with you at all. I have put in warranty tickets, sent emails and nothing! Poor consumer service! What: 12' x 24' rectangular shaped pool with wet deck with umbrella hole, seat in the deep end and PebbleTek (blue). SprayDeck in antique white. Super simple, no spa, no heater and no child fence. Pool goes 3ft to 5ft. We have a small backyard, so we wanted something modern and simple and low maintenance. This is our first pool. Price: $35k. We looked at other vendors, but some didn't show up to meet (Blue Haven) and some were crazy expensive (California Pools). We chose A&S for 3 reasons: they did our new community pool, they did our neighbor's pool, and they have been in business for a very long time with positive reviews. We had a good sales experience with Bob Mertel. He was a straight shooter and his design rendering was spot on. Timeframe: Since we hadn't closed on our new build, we were able to coordinate a "Dig and Hold" with a $5k deposit in October 2017 so that they could get the big CAT in there before our neighboring wall was constructed. We re-started our project on December 2017. Things went extremely fast. All was done in about 7 weeks. Every time they said that things would take 2-3 days, it took 1 day and time in between each vendor was quick, like the next day. There weren't huge lag times. You don't need to be home for much of the process, which was great since we weren't living in the home yet. Service: Our sales guy was Bob Mertel, our Project Mgr was Rich Norgan and our Scheduler was Jason Camponella. Communication is an area for improvement. Since we weren't living at the home yet, I wasn't aware of when things were going to happen or had already happened. When we met with Bob, they talked up their great software that updates clients about the progress, however this was a major fail. If I got any email updates, it was always after the fact or I didn't get an email at all. I just got good at anticipating when things were going to happen and I called Jason a lot. Jason gave me access to our schedule, but it was not up to date and did not have actual dates on them to let me know when things were scheduled. So this was useless and very disappointing and frustrating. However, I have to note that Bob and Rich were always very responsive to my calls and texts and I never felt that I was left hanging or out in the dark. Tip: Like any construction project, YOU need to supervise each phase because there are lots of different vendors in play and no one person is standing there supervising them - excavation, plumbers, electrician (lighting), plaster, concrete (deck), pool start-up and ongoing maintenance. You need to check in and make sure they are doing what you originally ordered, because there is a lot of opportunity for instructions to get lost in translation. We almost had a situation where the concrete guys thought they were doing stamped concrete but we ordered SprayDeck and they were working off some old plan. So you gotta be like, "so...you're doing SprayDeck, right?" No biggie, just know you can't be completely hands-off. read more

When we were ready to put in a pool, we shopped around as most people do. We had 4 different companies come and give us a quote. At the end, based on all our gathered information, we chose Anthony Sylvan pools. We did this based on many factors, design, cost for what we wanted, and customer service. A&S did a fantastic job. From our designer, Don to our PM Devon and all the sub contractors in between. Decon was amazing and want to thank him for all help, as I did make it challenging when I decided to change the plans and add steps to our spa in the middle of the project. He was always honest with us and got the job done. I would only change one thing and that would be with the shape of our pool, I would have insisted we put another light at the end of our pool to make 3 lights in the pool instead of 2 lights. Due to us deciding to build the pool at the wrong time of year, we have not been able to enjoy it yet, other than sit back and admire it from our patio with our winter coat on, ha ha but we will sure be ready come early spring and enjoy for the entire summer. read more

$100,000 hole in the ground I'm not sure how A&S pools has any good reviews. I can only assume they were written after a bribe offer as one was offered to me too, but I did not respond. Zero customer service, lengthy delays for missing parts and extended employee absences with zero communication, failed inspections, broken equipment and unanswered warranty calls. (Equipment is still broken) The design photos of my pool showed tile around the spa, but they only tiled one side. When I asked the project manager when they were coming out to tile the rest, he literally laughed out loud in front of me. True, it wasn't in the contract, but it wasn't reviewed verbally and the images I was shown had tile all around. It's not about the money, it's about being honest, communicative, responsible business people and Anthony & Sylvan Pools is not. Buyer beware. read more

Pool wasn't cheap and for the amount of money it costed you will think they will get a good job done, but it wasn't like that, the plaster is applied by the customer without the right tools and knowledge to get it done, therefore some surfaces on the pool are rough and created blisters to my kids toes and fingers, this happened in the same year of construction. When asking for warranty they said it was due to unbalanced chemicals, so we decided to get different opinions from different companies and they all said the same: plaster wasn't applied right, I attached pictures to be able to see. Ten years ago Anthony Sylvan put in our pool; 14x40 feet. I swim laps. We dealt with a wonderful gentleman, Don Sabino, at the Henderson location. The pool is still amazing and in great shape! Recently, a valve broken off the plumbing for the pool. We needed a plumber. Because I didn't want to make a cold call to a plumbing company, I called Mr. Sabino to get the name of the company that installed the plumbing. He was so gracious and helpful. I have an Anthony Sylvan pool which was built in 2019. We began to notice cracking in our spa within the first year of it being completed. We initiated a warranty claim for it on June 18, 2020 where someone was sent to inspect. They suggested that it might be "settling" and that they should put epoxy patch in temporarily to allow the settling to conclude. During the next two years, the cracking became worse and more pronounced. They came back once more in 2021 to patch the cracks with epoxy again and then said the plaster should be removed to inspect the concrete shell. This warranty claim initiated over two years ago was being handled by the Warranty Manager beginning in 2020. Fast forward to today and we've had nothing but empty promises, broken deadlines, and totally unprofessional lack of communication. The warranty manager confessed he was frustrated for us and eventually passed us along to the local "Construction Manager". This was back in Feb. of this year. Until today, I've been unable to get a confirmation from the Construction Manager of when our spa/pool will be repaired and if we will ever be scheduled to get it fixed. When I do finally get a response from him, he just tells me "let me check with the plaster company" and I never hear anything further. To this day, we have a deteriorating spa with numerous cracks along with multiple cracks appearing through the tile that covers the spa wall leading to the pool. These are pretty serious cracks and no one is attempting to help us get this fixed anymore. I have plenty of images I can send of the cracks and failures, but don't want to attach them to this email for fear it will not reach you. I'm happy to send them along in a follow up email should someone respond. We originally selected your company not because you were the most cost effective, in fact you were one of the most expensive. However, we cared deeply about the history of the Anthony Sylvan brand and the commitment to customer care we were told about which ultimately won us over. The interactions we've experienced over the past two years have left us in disbelief at how the Anthony Sylvan brand continues this reputation treating customers like ourselves this way. There is absolutely no Quality Control or any accountability with this company. Here are all the issues I've had with the project - Project Manager has no idea when contractors are scheduled. That's the Scheduler's job. Okay, but can you check with the scheduler and let us know? How hard is that? Electrical system installed incorrectly - they can't fix it, the warranty company has to fix it. So if your company can't even install the system correctly, who is inspecting and doing the Quality control? Plumbing system not installed correctly. Needed rework of the plumbing system. Pump heater failed. It's been less than 3 months since it has been completed. Software, controls for the system sucks! The app on the phone is terrible! Aweful! Stay away from this company! Avoid at ALL COST! I would NEVER use this company again. read more

I've been contacting Anthony and Sylvan Pools for four years to rectify issues with my pool. All three of my lights have been replaced. A cover on an electrical box was missing. It was replaced but never painted. Last January I had a significant pool leak. It's subsequently caused damage to the travertine. During this time, I have asked on several occasions to be paid for a $500 referral fee. Jim Anderson has stated that I have been paid. I've asked him for a copy of the cancelled check. To date I have received neither. Today I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they will help hold Anthony & Sylvan accountable for work that needs to be done on my property and funds owed to me. I personally know of two other people that have used this company to install their pools. The first is still major having issues from 2018. The other from 2021. The second home had to have their pool torn out and completely redone. Anthony & Sylvan designed a beautiful backyard for me. They are driven by profit. Attention to detail and customer service is not their strong point. I would not use them again. read more

Do not trust this company to build your pool. We had them build our pool in 2016 and in 2017 there was a structural crack that formed in the wall of our hot tub. They will not stand behind their warranty. We spent over a year working with them until we threatened to get the state contractor's board involved. It took them a year to demo the wall of our pool and hot tub to fix the structural crack. When they replastered the hot tub they did a terrible plaster job and left a very poor finish on the hot tub. They have refused to do anything about it. I am having to get the state contractor's board involved. This company is a nightmare to deal with! Stay away! Their represenitive responds acting like they care but the people that come to your home are rude and will try to find any excuse to place the problem onto others. Trevor Sawatzky is shady and lacks the ability to he honest and upfront about their shady and poor construction workmanship. Unfortunately, at this point, i have had to involve the Nevada State Contarctors Board with an official investigation into their negligence. read more

We have reached out to the email on here that Owen says to contact we have asked for the construction manager to call us and NOTHING!!!! we started this project in February and we are now heading into august and they are still not done. All of our jobs constantly get rescheduled to further dates. Summer is almost over and our kids will not get to enjoy there pool that we put thousands in. Over 90% of this project is paid for, we send payment every time something is due and do you think they put in the effort NO!!! When we signed contract we were told it would be 14 weeks, they are past the 14 weeks. We have had to cancel family flying out here. This is insane and I understand about the shortage but do u think this company puts in any effort to accommodate there customers in any way??? Nope instead look at the reviews they speak for themselves. The reason why I even went with them on the first place was because I was referred by a friend who's pool was done in 8 weeks and because they assured me that my pool would be ready by the end of june. DO NOT USE ANTHONY SYLVAN POOLS for pool construction. We are in a nightmare with them. First met with them in October. Started digging in January. Pool is still not done. Lots of mistakes with construction and too many delays. . It's now June. We have a veryexpensive concrete hole in the ground. They blame delays on everything else. Construction manager didn't even notice our spa spillway was too small. Said she " didn't have a tape measure". Then the waterfall was too high so they couldn't finish the tile coping. Wanted to tear everything out. We have no recourse. They have been paid 90% of the total cost. I filed a complaint with the BBB and it somehow disappeared. read more

All I can say is RUN!!! Do not get a pool from these people!!! From the beginning Don lied and lied so bad and when we confronted him he blew us off. Then after meeting with the most amazing project manager Devon he left the company as well and we were left with Skye who was the worst he did not care about anything he would walk in our yard take pictures and just leave. We have had problem after problem with no help. Once they received their money they don't care about you at all. The people they are contracted with as well do not care. Now we are left with a pool that is not worth what we paid for, We didn't get what we were promised by Don the liar, our brand new concrete it's cracked with the paint is coming up, and the pebble in the pool is horrible and missing huge spots everywhere. They sprayed concrete all over my screens and when I told Skye his response was just scrape it off well that didn't work and now's looks horrible on my new screens. The pebble company came out and said wow sorry nothing we can do and we are still waiting weeks now from the concrete company that I am sure we will not hear from. To start off, I dislike leaving negative reviews or comments, but the experience I just had was nothing more than a waste of time. I called the business roughly a Monday, the 14th of September for an estimate. The lady who answered was polite and asked for basic info, but then asked if I had financing in place and how much?????????? I told her I do not disclose the amount nor the financial institution I am using. I asked her for a estimator to come to my home to measure and etc to give a proper quote. She then schedules me and the person who was suppose to show was a no call no show on Wednesday the 23rd between 9 and 10 a.m. No call no show wasted my morning waiting and I did not bother calling them as my time is of value as well. After literally reading all the negative reviews and all the what looks to be automated or generic responses I will gladly pass and specially after wasting my time. I have a pool built a few years ago by them. The plaster in the hot tub has too much calcium in it so it looks awful. So I reported it then said no go on claim it's after a year. They say it's the water. Which is false since the rest of the pool has no issues. So don't claim it's water when the pool has no issues the spots have been there for years they even came and sanded them down. Once again the spots are back it's in the plaster. I paid in full for the pool. Don't ever use them they are nothing but rip off artist. Now have a worthless pool they built. What a joke of a company. read more
