Chris Whitlock was my Project Manager and we created a group text to ensure I was kept in the loop. They still answer my questions within moments and my pool has been completed for 6 months now. Chris told us it would take 10-12 weeks to complete and they did it in eleven. I've read my share of bad reviews but none of them applied to my experience. And there was no price gouging. We were told from the start to find our own landscaper or we would incur a 10% up charge. Devon held our pool school which we video taped and we learned everything necessary to maintain the pool ourselves. We get compliments from everyone that visits and Anthony & Sylvan even took promotional photos of our pool. In that time: * The heater has failed twice (and is currently not working again) * The chlorinator has been replaced * The pool lights have been replaced twice * The silver quartz finish already looks stained and bleached Maybe some of this is poor Hayward Industries equipment, but it's hard to know because the service tech changes constantly -- about every 6 weeks -- so there's zero accountability or continuity. This is a saltwater pool, yet instead of properly diagnosing or maintaining the chlorinator system, they routinely dump gallons of liquid chlorine into the pool every week. Actual "service" often feels limited to: * Emptying the leaf basket * Lightly brushing the pool * Adding chemicals And nearly everything beyond that becomes an extra charge: * Chemicals? Extra. * Filter cleaning? Extra. * Repairs? Extra. * Someone coming out because the system they maintain stopped working? Extra. Worse, many of the techs seemed unfamiliar with how the equipment even operates, making service calls frustrating and unproductive. What really bothered me was adding up the actual cost over three years. Once you include all the side charges, repair calls, chemical add-ons, and maintenance fees, the true cost is easily several times higher than the advertised "weekly service" price. He made sure we new all of our options, was patient with all of our questions, and made sure we stayed informed every step of the way. Jose was our construction guy. He and his team went to work quickly on our yard. From start to finish, we were impressed with the process. Jose also did all of our inspections and made sure we knew what to expect every step of the way. After the pool was completed, he came back out and gave us a full tutorial on our pump, how to clean the pool, how to use our bolt down pool cover, etc. Chilo and his crew did our decking and concrete. We added a little more decking than what comes the pool, and gave him creative control to make it fit asthecially with the yard. He knocked it out of the park!! During all of this, I was also corresponding with Tommi in the office. She kept us informed of the next steps in the process, what to expect, and when payments were due for each phase. Always friendly, and responsive when I would email with any questions or concerns. After our pool was completed, I went back down to Renaissance to pick up our final packet from Charlie. It was bittersweet because at the end he gave me a great big hug, and it honestly felt like I was saying goodbye to a good friend. He always made me & my husband feel like we were his friend, not just a sale or a transaction. After working in customer service and management for over 25 years, that type of client relationship goes a long way! We bought our home 18 years ago with the intention of putting a pool in our yard. Charlie made our dream a reality! He was friendly while being very professional. He deduced that pump #1 was disabled, which caused the spa not to work. Antonio said he could replace the pump, but first, he wanted to see if there was a reason it wasn't working. He found the wire leading to pump #1 was lying in water and had a small break that caused the breaker to flip. Instead of paying for a new pump, I just had to pay for a new wire to pump #1. It's very nice to have a repair person who looks for the most inexpensive way to fix your hot tub. I will continue to do business with AG Spas!

However, over the years, we have had them return multiple times for recurring cracks. Each time, the repair involved filling the cracks, which unfortunately did not appear to resolve the underlying issue, as the same cracks kept returning. Earlier this year, I contacted Doug and again regarding the same problems. I was told the cracks were likely due to seismic activity. Based on our observations, we are not convinced that is the cause. Additionally, there is currently a metal piece protruding from the side wall they built, along with other issues. We have documented these problems over time with photos and emails. After raising these issues again and requesting further assistance to address the underlying problem, we did not receive any additional follow-up communication. Because of this, we are now exploring other options to resolve the issue. Overall, while the initial build experience was positive, our experience with follow-up repairs and warranty support has been disappointing. I am sharing this so future customers can be sure to ask detailed questions about warranty coverage and long-term repair solutions before moving forward.

He was truly a pleasure, and he made the install process absolutely seamless. I had about five other companies come out to quote us. His quote for the install was great and it fit within our budget, but it was his professionalism and warm authenticity that sold us. Every crew that came out was respectful of our property and exceedingly efficient. We actually hired his last crew to put in some additional pavers and rock to complete the yard. All the big companies on Yelp and other review spaces must pay a fee to show up at the top of the pool builder list because if quality, customer service, attention to detail, and professionalism were the only considerations when deciding which companies are highlighted on review sites and apps, then Bill Relaford and the whole Mission West crew, would most certainly earn the top spot.
