Good pizza, but not very special. The customer service was great, though. Ladies at the counter are very friendly and helpful. Pizza prices are fair, too. I got the white pizza (medium). I thought it would come with small diced tomatoes, but they were must larger chunks. Still, the flavor was pretty good. It was quite warm when I picked up the pie (I believe they are only takeout and delivery for now). Good amount of garlic there as well. Nothing special about the white sauce or the crust - not bad, just average and somewhat flavorless. They were able to accommodate my thin crust order for the pie. Usually, thin crust costs $1 less if you get a red pie. I've previously tried their red sauce cheese pizza, and it was pretty standard as well. Cheesy, but not too cheesy. Visit 2: I tried the stuffed shells with their wedding soup and garlic bread. The portion is quite large and you get soup/salad with a bread for free! The stuffed shells themselves were fairly standard, but tasty nonetheless. I think you get around 5-6 medium sized shells smothered in cheese. It's a little bland, but the sauce doesn't overpower the pasta. Goode choice for something classic and simple! Garlic bread is fairly large. Very buttery but not super garlicky. It was soft in the inside and toasted on the outside. Wedding soup was also larger than expected, so this was a good deal. Fair amount of vegetables, tasty but not too flavorful broth, and lots of little noodles. Portions are somewhat large and the interior is cozy as well as family friendly. It's good for a cheap Italian dinner. I'd give the pizza a 3/5 and the stuffed shells, soup, and garlic bread deal a 4/5. So it evens out to a 3.5/5 and I'll round up to 4/5. Good spot, not expensive but not super flavorful either. I'd still recommend if you just want a simple, cheap, tasty, and cheesy dinner. read more

I've always been pleased with the pizza! Growing up in an Italian family, the sauce is just okay.

Went in with my mom to eat in and was told the dining room was closed. My family loves all the other locations but this was disappointing.

Pizza is always fresh . Went here last Sunday ate in house . Ordered steak mushroom and bacon calzone . Mushrooms were RAW inside , bacon was NON EXISTENT and Steak was cut in tiny little cubes. Clearly steak um ...contents of calzone weren't even warm inside , yet alone hot .. 11$ wasted if you ask me . Husband ordered chicken parm . Noodles were soggy and chicken was frozen breaded chicken patties . I'm convinced if pizza could be frozen and heated up to serve then they would do this here instead of making it fresh . I used to think of " fresh food " when going to Monte cellos . But here in Shaler Plaza that is definitely not the case . I will go elsewhere for FRESH Italian fare. Won't be returning here . I can't give this place 5 stars just because of the amount of excellent pizza I have had. However, my family lives 2 minutes away and I have probably eaten here 100 times and every single time is good. The staff is very friendly and I've never ever had a problem with my order (which is almost always takeout) I have had every hoagie and they're all fantastic. My mom's favorite is probably the steak while mine is the hot sausage. The pizza is very good. The dough is fresh and the sauce is actual tomato sauce. I hate sweeter sauces and this one is definitely not one of those. I would highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

Always busy, but the quality of the food isn't the same as the other monte cellos. The service is also not the best, but I think it's because they are overwhelmed. Definitely order in advance, especially if it's a weekend, and prepare to stand outside or the lobby. I'm not sure I would make this spot my consistent go to, but the pizza is pretty good! I waited 25 min extra for my food recently and no one apologized. Seems like the lobby is really small to social distance. Try to call ahead and see if your order is almost ready before you drive there. read more

It was definitely a satisfactory meal, but I was expecting a little more. I don't know if they are owned by the same people who own the Allison Park and Babcock Bvd locations, but this was not what I was expecting after having been to the Babcock Bvd location last month. The dining area was very outdated and it had the vibe of a pick up pizza place rather than a sit down Italian family restaurant. It is definitely more popular as a pick up pizza place since people were constantly coming through the door to pick up their pizzas. I might return if I am in the area again, I would definitely consider getting pizza here since it seems to be so popular with the locals. read more

Manager took my call. I asked how much for a large extra cheese. They quoted me a number. When they got to my door it was 3 dollars more. I called and they got an attitude. Told it was tax and delivery. Even the price they started with on this call was not what i was quoted. Waited over an hour for delivery and the pizza was cold. Not a good thing. When you quote a customer a price stick to it. To tell me one number on the phone and several dollars more when you get here is shady business. Not good at all. Will avoid in the future. Shady. I ordered a Chicogo Deep dish because we ordered one from Monte Cello's on Babcock Blvd. It was so good! Thinking that it would be the same pizza we ordered it from the Shaler restaurant. I got home and all I received was a regular pizza. It was not a deep dish pizza. When I called instead of rectifying the issue all that they said to me is "well that's how we make them. I paid $18 for a regular pizza. I assure you that I will never order from there again. read more

Decided to swing by Monte Cello's today for lunch. I got an Italian hoagie and order of Provolone sticks to go. The hoagie was very good, made on Mancini bread and loaded with quality ingredients. The provolone sticks were also very good but I did not care for the marinara sauce, as I found it had an odd flavor. In all it was really good, so I would recommend this place if you happen to be in the area. read more

So a woman walks into a restaurant and asks for a wedgie! And she's dressed in her finest business wear! Plus she orders Italian Wedding Soup to go along with her wedgie. Now that I've planted THAT image in your mind, for those of you who don't know, a wedgie is a stuffed folded dough shell. I ordered the tuna wedgie and it was very filling, but oh so good. Normally I really like this restaurant. I've eaten in the restaurant and gotten take out numerous times. I've always enjoyed the food and the service...until today. I ordered 1/2 "hot" Italian hoagie for pick up. They told me 15 minutes. So 15 minutes later I go in and it's not ready yet. OK they were busy. No problem. After 25 minutes, I asked if it was ready. I was asked for my name again. She went in the back, came out with my hoagie and apologized that it took so long. I got home only to find my "hot" hoagie never saw the inside of an oven. They just threw it together and shoved it in a bag. Disappointed? Absolutely read more

The food is normally okay from here, but this review is based on our most recent order. We ordered the exact same items as past orders so we do have many comparisons. Our large pizza seemed smaller than usual but no way to verify. There was hardly any sauce on it. The meatball casserole had 4 meatballs that were dry inside and actually hard to cut through. There was hardly any sauce in the casserole. This must be a trend today. They forgot to give me the soup that came with the casserole meal. Our grilled chicken salad had very few pieces of chicken so I guess we can just call it a salad. We asked for Ranch dressing and we received thousand island. I checked the written slip on the box and everything was listed properly on it. It's not like we ordered a lot of food but to forget and item and not provide what we actually ordered is inexcusable. The meal was not too good compared to past times that we ordered. Maybe new cooks? COVID affecting the amount of ingredients on or in the meals? Let me start off by saying that the food is good. I've been to the Shaler location and everyone was nice when I have picked up orders in the past. Today though I called and asked if they would deliver to my house which was 3.7 miles away and the woman who answered the phone assured me that they would since they go up to a 5 mile radius. I get a call 15 minutes later telling me that they "don't go that far." Then the man on the phone even preceded to tell me how "busy" they will be tonight so they definitely wouldn't deliver to my house.
