Tonight we had an exceptionally long wait after ordering. We were very frustrated as we had a puppy at home in a crate that has been sick - (we've never had this issue before) we love this place but by the time the meal came - we had to leave. The manager, Cassie was an all star- she not only paid for our food and drinks but sent us home with our meal, which was still good! Chris, the waiter was alone on the floor so we were not angry, we just had other commitments. They were both amazing and went above and beyond to keep their customer satisfaction ratings up! Cons: We were sat for a very long time before our orders were taken, we were not given any bread until we asked and it came out with our food much later, the Nojito is basically sprite and mint (little to no ginger as stated in the menu), my friend's mashed potatoes were cold. Pros: They brought an entire new, warm plate of mashed potatoes for her, the chef gave my other friend another plate of lobster (unprovoked) because he didn't like the way it turned out, they gave my friend free dessert (with a lighter candle) to celebrate her graduation), the tuna tacos, steak, clam chowder and trout were delicious. Celebrating time with our family from Seattle. We ordered the seafood tower appetizer to share. Pancetta prawns were smoky and delicious! Calamari excellent but my favorite - ahi tuna nachos.... Oh my, by far my favorite!! So delectable. I could have eaten a platter all by myself. All food was excellent. Prepared and seasoned beautifully. Our server was happy to move us to a corner table to view the lights and sunset. Our server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about entry's. was extremely disappointed with my dining experience. I ordered a medium-rare steak and shrimp, but the steak was cooked well done and was so tough that the entire table shook when I tried to cut it. The shrimp arrived with the veins still intact, which was very unappetizing. The service was also lacking. Our waiter took a long time to check on our table and was equally slow in bringing the check. He did offer us a complimentary dessert, which I appreciated, but it seemed to acknowledge that the food and service had fallen well below expectations.Unfortunately, this experience did not meet the standard I expected, and I hope improvements are made to both the kitchen and customer service. read more

I enjoy their crab when it's in season the calamari his excellent their fish of the day is very good. The chef's prepared. We came here for our 10th wedding anniversary after reading reviews. I made reservations on a Friday night. We love seafood and were hoping this restaurant would satisfy (our first time here). It absolutely did. In my hometown of San Diego, there was a small chain of Anthony's restaurants, and one is still open. I wonder if this location is related. We asked for a booth and were given a nice one facing the large windows. The decor is nice, not super fancy but good place to celebrate a special occasion. You can do paid parking in a garage off 11th and there is an elevator that takes you directly to the restaurant doors. Aspen was our server, and she did a great job! She was friendly and attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We both had the prawns, craisin rice pilaf, and snap peas. For an appetizer, we had the clam chowder. They served us some warm and tasty sourdough bread. My wife had some kind of tequila drink that she really liked. I had an IPA. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was upscale. We will be back. read more

Service was top notch as soon as we walked in. We did make online reservations so maybe that helped? The place is fairly huge and views from anywhere they sit you which is pretty cool. Everything was so clean and up to date. Now to the food - the kids plate was great. Portion was enough to feed a kid for 2 days. Well, at least a 5yr old. She got the buttered noodles and they were outstanding. We also ordered the trout plate and a scallop one. Husband and I shared and we finished absolutely everything. Nothing was brought back home. We had dinner on a Wednesday night to entertain a couple of building contractors visiting Boise from Seattle. The restaurant was pretty empty, yet our party of six was seated right next to a banquet room hosting what can only be described as a full-blown work party. Between the noise and our waiter speaking loudly and very slowly (think Disneyland character energy), it was tough to tell if he was competing with the party or assuming we were hard of hearing (we are all in our early 50's). Either way, it made conversation... challenging. The food was good and the oysters were amazing, but discussing business over what felt like a live soundtrack wasn't ideal. The waiter even joked about closing the banquet room door because "those folks know how to party," then promptly did nothing about it. As the group finally wrapped up, one guy actually apologized for interrupting our dinner -- which kind of said it all. We'll definitely try a quieter spot next time we're entertaining clients. read more

Well, I want to start off by saying we are completely foodies and know our food. My husband has shared our bad experience with several people already and it's only been a few days. We booked a reservation to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary and were utterly disappointed. First, the food is a 3 star, at best. But the overall experience completely dropped our rating. We made reversions and noted that we were there for a celebration and even requested a particular seated area but they put us directly in the middle of the room. The restaurant isn't quiet as is, but being in the middle of the room.. at a table.. for our anniversary, felt awkward. I ordered a drink, and I kid you not, it took nearly 25 minutes to arrive -- our appetizers came first. The appetizers weren't wow factor. The bread is basic. The waiter behind me dropped plates when collecting the dishes from the table to the left of me. The table to the right of me was complaining about hair in her dish and wanted to speaker with a manager. Full disclaimer: it wasn't. It was just the skewer wood sliver. But it took so much attention from the staff, they forgot to take our order and never realized we didn't order. Our waiter came back to our table to pour water maybe 3 times and our menus were there. My husband looked at me and said are you thinking what I'm thinking? Yes, I am. Let's leave. We did just that. We had every intention of celebrating our entire night with Anthony's and were so utterly disappointed we actually left for our usual restaurant across the street. Finished the night at the other restaurant and it entirely made up for a ruined anniversary dinner. Additionally, no celebration dessert was given either. We won't be returning. read more

Seafood menu, with so many great choices. Seasonal menu items do not disappoint. Of course you can't go wrong with the classics like Clam Chowder or Fish and Chips..Which is battered and fried to perfection, tasty crispy exterior with a tender and moist interior. We made a last minute reservation here after a show we were scheduled to see was postponed. We walked the .2 mile to the restaurant arriving 10 minutes early for 6 pm reservation. It was a Thursday in March so very few tables occupied. We were seated immediately and our server was lovely and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered iced teas whilst perusing the menu. My daughter decided on the Wagyu steak and added tempura prawns. I ordered fish and chips. We decided to share a cocktail. The warm sourdough bread on the table was wonderful but I didn't think it would be the only food for an hour. The cocktail arrived after 30 minutes and was tasty. When dinner finally arrived (57 minutes after we ordered) we were relieved because we chose a close by restaurant so we wouldn't have to walk downtown after dark. Unfortunately, my daughter's Wagyu sirloin was well done instead of medium rare. She said it had great taste and marbling and would have been delicious at correct temperature. We are ranchers and we grow a few Wagyu calves every year for ourselves. What a shame to treat prime beef this way. She enjoyed her prawns but wished there had been a sauce to dip them in. They served her entree with ramp mashed potatoes which I tasted. Absolutely delicious. Her broccoli was nice too. My fish and chips were disappointing. The panko crusted cod was obviously fresh but terribly overcooked. The fillets were very thin, so they just really stayed in the hot oil far too long. I actually loved the Asian slaw it came with (so yummy) and the homemade tartar sauce saved the whole plate. Their Simplot fries were perfectly cooked and crispy, and my daughter helped me with both the slaw and French fries. We skipped dessert and walked back to our hotel. Dinner was $98 before tip and frankly a real disappointment. I had eaten at an Anthony's in Washington years ago and it was really good. Tonight just really fell short. The biggest issue is obviously the kitchen. If you can't get basic food out on a quiet evening, what happens on the weekends when the place is full and you really get slammed. Most of the folks we saw inside were eating fresh oysters and seemed to be really enjoying them. Because we had another night planned and going to Anthony's was a last minute replacement, I didn't feel like ordering up a huge dinner. I figured classic fish and chips at a fresh fish restaurant was easy and likely to be great. It sadly wasn't. As we were walking back to the hotel, we both agreed, we would probably never go back. I took my wife here for her birthday and we have both wanted to try this place out and was recommended by friends. I will say right out the gate, the service was not good. We were sat at our table waiting for a server to come by or at least say hi or I will be with you in a moment as you would expect. That did not happen we were there for about 25 minutes with no contact from anyone until I went up and had to ask where our server is at. After that point the service was okay. It's our 10 year wedding anniversary and we decided to go out for dinner. The first restaurant we went to was a bust so we decided to come to Anthony's as we've heard decent things about it. Unfortunately it was also a bust. We didn't make reservations so we got sat in the lounge which was no big deal at all! We waited at least 30 minutes before our order was taken, then even longer to get our food. My husband ordered the cod fish and chips which were dry and overcooked, and I ordered the tenderloin (asked for medium well) which was like $58 dollars and added crab on top for $12 more. I got the tiniest piece of meat with less than an OZ of crab on top and it was cooked well well well done and also very dry. If we hadn't waited forever for the food I would have said something but didn't want to wait another 35-40 minutes to get one that was cooked to how I ordered it. Safe to say I would not recommend this place and chances are very slim that we'll be back. Side note- I ordered their peach/raspberry cheesecake to go, when I got home we ate more than half to discover there was moldy raspberries in it. So freaking disgusting read more

First time in Boise and had an amazing dinner at Anthony's. Made reservations and glad we did because it was busy. The service here is wonderful. Our server was so attentive and made our whole dining experience a memorable one. We started off with their Seasonal Salad which was a spinach one with a tasty Dill Vinaigrette. We had a nice Pinot Noir, recommended by our server, which was great. My BF had the Seafood Fettuccine which had clams, bay shrimp, mussels, prawns, and scallops in a cream sauce. I went with one of their specials, the Island Duet- mahi mahi with a pineapple mango salsa and coconut prawns. For a side it had a craisin pistachio rice pilaf which went well with the dish. The place is decorated nicely with an upbeat vibe and the lights they have outside were beautiful. For dessert we had the Huckleberry Burnt Cream, a custard similar to a crème brûlée topped with huckleberry sauce. We had never had huckleberry before and really enjoyed the dessert. The meal was perfect. Our fabulous dinner was one the highlights of our visit. read more

This visit was a rollercoaster ride some nice things but more bad so I can't say we will come back. There are just too many other places in the area for the price that I think would give us a better experience. We came here for my husband's birthday. 1) Our meal took around 2 hours to arrive. The restaurant was fairly empty and we had a party of 3. 2) While we were waiting the server asked if we wanted a side salad, our daughter took one. We thought it came with the entree however it must not have since we were charged. 3) I have a gluten allergy, the menu said that the hamburger could be GF modified. Most of the time when that's the case the bun is swapped out for a GF bun. When my meal came out it was a smaller sized burger wrapped in lettuce (that's fine) but no fries. When the server came back out my husband asked, "does she get anything else" . He said he would go ask and came back out to tell us that they cannot give me fries because they cook gluten in the fryer. That would have been fine, I could have picked another side but they didn't tell us at all. The server then said "I can see if maybe I can get you mashed potatoes?". By then everyone was already almost finished with their meals and I didn't know if that would take a long time as well. The server came back and said he talked to the manager and had them take off the burger (which was nice of them and I appreciate that). He then asked our daughter if she wanted a box and took her food to the back and that was the last we saw of them. I apologized to my husband for a not so great milestone birthday dinner and then we walked downtown to get ice cream. My suggestion you have a lot of items on your menu listed as gluten friendly. Please educate your servers on this. The server should have mentioned it would come on a lettuce wrap to set the expectation. They then should have informed us that the fries are not GF and then offered a list of substitutions that are, lastly I know you are higher end but for Pete's sake include the tiny salad into the entree price it's silly not to. read more

Pretty meh place. Been there a number of times. Food is incredibly uninspired. Had the chef dalad with shrimp. When it was brought to our table it was not made to recipe. Missing avocado. The waiter did bring me a plate with very little avocado. Salad was just sad. While the deserts were good, it took 25 min to get them. Service was inconsistent. I will not be back. read more

Went to Anthony's last week. The location is great with beautiful views from the windows inside. You park in the jump parking garage and validation is provided. The staff was friendly! We started with calamari which was thicy breaded. For my taste I like a little less batter but it was still tasty the aioli sauce was delicious. I got the chargrilled trout -- highly recommend. The green beans were a bit overdone. The best thing was dessert as listed below. I think for costs the sides could be a little fresher but overall enjoyed the experience. read more

I had eaten once before at Anthony's and enjoyed a good meal as did the others at our table. This was for my grandson's birthday and I was excited for him. Our server was polite and as attentive as she could be on a relatively busy Friday evening. My granddaughter ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and the server apologized for how small they were and said they were being comped because they were so small. That was a good point for Anthony's. I ordered the pan fried oysters. When they came, they were over breaded and over cooked. At least an eighth of my serving was clumps of breading with no oyster in them. The ones that did have oysters were overcooked and the breading so thick that it broke rather than accept a fork. Worse, the breading over powered the flavor of the oysters. I was not going to say anything, but my daughter in law looked up from her plate of oysters and said, "Well, that was under whelming." When it came time for dessert, my daughter in law apologized and said my grandson had another event to go to. After the waitress left, she told us the dinner was so under whelming she did not want to chance the dessert. I don't know what has happened in the last couple of years since I last ate there, but I suspect neither I nor my son's family will be returning. read more

I'm a lifelong seafood lover, so I've wanted to dine at this restaurant for quite some time. We visited recently for our anniversary to enjoy a special dinner. I'll start with the good: The parking was easy to find. The garage was clean and well-lit. The restaurant was beautifully appointed, though lacked some of the nautical flair of a seafood establishment. Our server, when she was around, was friendly. The pan-fried Willapa Bay oysters were terrific. (This is the first time anyone has asked me how I would like fried oysters cooked.) And the bad: Our server was almost never present. Throughout our wait, she maybe checked on us twice. (More about the wait later.) Aside from my entree, none of the food we ordered was served as ordered. For example, my spouse's meal came with onions on the steak and onions in the vegetable medley. He specifically asked that no onions be served. My oysters arrived, but I did not receive the vegetables. The clam chowder was nearly devoid of clams. (And we were there early -- was the chowder left over from yesterday?) Then the ugly: We arrived before 5pm to enjoy the Sunset Dinner special. The restaurant was almost completely empty when we arrived. So it was a complete surprise to be waiting over an hour between our appetizer/soup/bread and the arrival of our entrees. We were very nearly deciding to leave when they finally arrived -- and were wrong, to boot! When our dessert FINALLY arrived, the server wished my husband a "Happy Birthday."
