We came here tonight, a Wednesday, for a belated Mother's Day. First visit for us, though our daughter has been here several times before. We were sat at a nice booth right away. Our server, MJ, did a really great job taking care of us. She was nice, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our daughter had the Unicorn sushi roll with a side of edamame, my wife had a bowl of clam chowder and the shrimp scampi, and I had the fish and chips (cod; they also offer salmon and halibut, but the halibut, which I would have liked, was double the price at $38). For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. My wife said the clam chowder was OK, but more potatoes than clams. She did like her scampi. Our daughter liked the sushi roll. And, I liked the beer battered cod with the tartar sauce, and their fries were nicely seasoned and fairly crispy ( a little crispier would have been nice). The key lime pie had a rougher texture; I like it more creamy. Still good, though. I liked the exterior of the building. Red brick, arched windows that have a Mediterranean feel, and an exterior staircase that gives a bit of an industrial vibe. I thought it would be a little more upscale inside, but it is more basic wood tables and booths. There is a patio area, and it looks like there is an upstairs patio or dining area as well. All in all, a good first experience. We will definitely return. read more

Their sushi rolls are amazing. Oysters, calamari, salads are all so good. We ordered a multitude of desserts and shared them and they were excellent. I found this place courtesy of the trusty Yelp app and was able to make reservations on Open Table for a party of 4. Our server MJ was great from start to finish. Since it was all of our first time dining here, we asked her for all of the customer favorites and her favorites. The restaurant is simply decorated which I liked. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the fish and shellfish from start to finish. The clams & mussels w/ chorizo was a hit at our table, especially with the buttery soft bread that comes with it. The nigiri I would have given a very high overall score but they put just a little too much rice for the portion of the fish. I rarely do rolls but there were 2 people in my party that wanted them and all 3 of the rolls we ordered were proper. I work in retail in the service industry, not food, but personal service. Sunday night I got off work and told my husband we could go out because I didn't feel like cooking. We were seated in the bar area on a high top and Courtney was our waitress from the moment she greeted our table, She was fun, energetic, lively, personable, and sweet. She even laughed at my husband's terrible joke. Dinner was delicious thank you to chef who prepared our meal.... It was so good. But the difference was Courtney. We headed in tonight for dinner, a pre celebration for my husband's birthday. Our friend did show up first. He got us a bar table and chilled till we got there. I'm surprised our server didn't greet and or get a drink started for him. I guess the server in me will always question why a server would just leave their guest just sitting there without greeting them. We finally showed up. It did take a minute for our server to get to us. After drinks were dropped off we just sat there and waited. After our server finally had time for us, we got some soup started. Surprised she didn't grab our dinner orders at the same time so we just went with the flow. It did take a while for our pre made soups to be brought out. We worked on our soups and again, waited for our server to get dinner orders placed. For dinner tonight, I got the honey chipotle glazed salmon with only veggies. They always deliver a good meal. This is one of my go to dinners here. The piece of fish I got was hearty. The glaze had a nice amount of heat and the sweet from the honey compliments the the chipotle. The asparagus was charred and cooked nicely. I finished the whole thing. It was fabulous. My sweet husband did get a birthday dessert. And his friend also got a sweet treat as well. Both desserts were fantastic! The apple cobbler was nice and hot. You can taste the cinnamon in it. The ice cream on top added a nice creaminess to the dessert. My friend got the skillet brownie with a huge scoop of ice cream on top. Of course I had to take one for the team and have a couple bites. The brownie was chocolatey and soft. Ice cream is always a great addition to any dessert. Both desserts were a great way to end our dinner. Food is never the issue here. The last time we were here, I wasn't impressed with our visit. I was hoping that tonight's visit wasn't the case but service didn't deliver tonight. We are actually coming back this Sunday so hopefully our server will be better than tonight's server. read more

Overall experience 4.6 (even with wife getting food poisoning afterwards). 5 stars to our server Jackson who was fun, attentive, and professional even though he is very young. We flew into Boise for the weekend to watch WSU in their Regional Club Vball tournament and was searching for seafood since we were observing the " Good Friday" during the Lenten season. And Lucky Fins came up near our hotel, so why not. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly smile and immediately seated. Our server Jackson comes over brings water to the table and takes our drink order: Glass of wine and a Coke. We decided to share a few appetizers: mussels & clams and fresh oysters on the half shell, then the Fin's platter (two kinds of shrimp: coconut & beer battered), fried cod, with French fries and cole slaw. The large portion of the mussels & clams was cooked in garlic and butter which was large enough to be a meal in itself. The oysters were larger than we expected and tasty too, not salty from Peugeot Sound. The Fin's platter thou mostly everything was fried, the batter was crunchy and light. I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday weekend and diabetic, so Jackson packed up a dessert for my wife to enjoy later (which made my wife very happy) Here's the bad news: within an hour my wife had a bad case of food poisoning. We ate exactly the same food except, she ate the cole slaw. After a few rounds of Pepto Bismal her stomach started to easy up. This won't deter us from coming back next time in town, but maybe we'll avoid the cole slaw. read more

In town / state for a weekend seminar and had a taste for seafood at lunchtime. I'm think would that be a good idea while in Idaho but, the urge was too strong. Started off with the spicy shrimp as an appetizer and followed it up with a customized Ciappino. I ordered it as was plus a bit more shrimp, sun dried tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and heavy whipping cream. When I say it was good; it was DAMN good. If I had to say one bad thing, it would definitely be the crab because it was not fresh. I would have preferred REAL crab meat. All the same it was an amazing meal and I STRONGLY recommend. Mid-week lunch, not very busy, but the service and food were fantastic! We were seated in their outdoor seating (which really isn't outside, but was perfect for the hot day). I went to Lucky fin in Meridian for the first time . The experience was not good . The service it took me forever to get my food then whenever I was getting ready to leave I ordered a dessert to go and that took another 15-20 minutes . The food is good but the service I don't know whether it was because I was wearing a veterans against Trump hat or what but the server wasn't the bubbly person that I thought he should be . I only left the $6 tip for my order because I did not feel 20% was even worth half of it . Will I go there again probably not will I tell my friends about my experience probably yes because they're the ones that told me about this place . So anybody going there don't wear a veterans against trumpet because I truly believe that might have been the issue and unfortunately it was with me thank you very much and have a great day read more

Overall the meal was ok. After being seated it was a good 7-8 minutes before a waiter came to my table, once the order was given I was well taken care of. The app of lobster tater tots was not bad, couldn't taste or see any evidence of lobster, the dipping sauce was really good. Fish and chips were fine, the fish spent maybe 2 or 3 minutes too long in the fryer. The fries were ok, they were extruded. The side of slaw was good, the apples were turning, otherwise good. The cheesecake made in house as I was told was of the Sara Lee variety. The crust was soggy and could have been better with a fresh strawberry compote, the side of whipped cream was not really needed. Cheesecake eats better with a fork instead of a soupspoon. Overall the meal was fine the place was clean and nicely appointed. The meal was very affordable, if I lived in the area would definitely give it another try. read more

We went to Lucky Fins in Meridian the other day for our first time. The staff were really very friendly ad the food was off the hook! No pun intended. We weren't familiar with some of the items on the menu, so our waiter (Richard) was happy to engage in conversation about what is popular and he was really great about explaining things to us. His recommendations were "spot-on." There were a few items on the menu that really blew me away, namely the Lobster & Crab stuffed Avocado. It was simply fantastic! The Honey Glazed Salmon and the Cedar Plank Salmon were also very well prepared. My wife and I consider ourselves to be "foodies" and we love eating really good food. Needless to say, we liked it so much that we went back a second time, the very next day! Our Waitress was also really nice and engaging and helped us us to choose a drink from the bar that I'd never heard of. It was really awesome as well. Prices were reasonable, too. The food was also delivered quickly and hot, too. All in all, we have found a really great place to eat out and its not far from home, either. The restaurant was very clean and not noisy at all. The food was cooked perfectly and the oysters on the half-shell were so fresh and tasty. Please consider eating here. We've seen this place for years (literally) and just never thought to try it out. I recently revisited Lucky Fins in Meridian. In the past, I've been to the original location, which is the one in Meridian, as well as the one in downtown Boise, which has since closed. There is also a location in Greeley, Colorado. We started with an appetizer of Kickin' Shrimp ($15) - Crispy shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy honey-chipotle sauce, served with a side of ranch and a lime wedge. Similar to Bonefish Grill's Bang Bang Shrimp, but uniquely its own, this isn't excellent appetizer! If you like spicy shrimp, it's worth visiting for this dish alone. I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos ($15) - Tempura battered and fried Arctic cod with shredded cabbage, chipotle aïoli, pickled onions, cojita, and micro cilantro. Served with cilantro lime rice, lime wedges, and choice of salsa. The fish tacos were bland and flavorless. I didn't realize until I started to write this review that they came with a choice of salsa, but I don't think that would've made much of a difference. I liked the cilantro lime rice. MW ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon ($29) - Center cut, grilled Arctic salmon on Northwest Cedar plank, seasoned with Rocky Mountain meat and fish rub, loaded smashers, grilled asparagus, charred lemon. MW liked the salmon dish, but would opt for something a little more interesting next time. For dessert, we shared Bourbon Bread Pudding, which came topped with ice cream ($10). It was good. Service was amazing for my lunch on Monday. Had two oysters that were on a special for the day very fresh and flavorful. The bartender helped me pick an appetizer for my lunch that was very filling, lobster stuffed avocado. It was so tasty. The tempura over the avocado gave it great crunch before the creaminess kicked in. It was so full of crab and lobster and a great spicy mayo the top. Highly recommend. read more

Our Friday happy hour service was a disaster. Positive - really enjoyed my first try of the Kickin Shrimp. A little lime over the top made it very enjoyable and the watery ranch detracts from the experience. The negative - Ordered a dozen oysters to share with my co-worker. The fourth one was rancid. Nothing as graceful as spitting out your single-chewed oyster onto your plate and trying to spit every last drop of saliva into your napkin then running off to the bathroom. It was all I could do to hold back reflexively vomiting. Not great, but it gets worse. The service, horrible. Seated at 4:50 at a table in the bar area, happy hour. A couple other tables occupied. Took him a while to come over and get our drink order, he said he was setting up. 5 minutes later, came back and said he was entering it, got distracted and someone deleted it so they could enter their order. Eventually got drinks. Oysters were delivered with two thin lemon wedges. I asked for a few more. Almost 10 minutes later, went to the bar to ask for lemon wedges and was totally ignored by all three people behind the bar. After a couple minutes, went back to my table to continue eating the shrimp. Then the oyster experience. I sat it the plate and hurked napkin on the empty table next to us because my co-worker could smell it. He eventually came back around, apologized and took the rejected materials on the other table away and I repeated my request for lemons. I had to ask for another plate and another napkin so I could continue eating when he returned. The oyster cost was cut by half. How generous. By then it was starting to get busy at 6pm so we paid and left. This place has never been "great" and after this, will probably start going to the other two options on that strip. read more

They were busy but service was great. Our waitress was friendly and kept my Diet Coke full :) we had the lobster tots and pot stickers for appetizers. The pot stickers were pot stickers but the lobster tots were amazing. I had the lobster Mac and cheese it was delicious. Husband had the fried chicken and the miso soup. The miso was not so great, it tasted like soy sauce...:( for dessert I had the bread pudding...it was not that great. The whiskey caramel that was over the ice cream was fire. So yummy. But the bread pudding itself was meh. Overall, it was a good experience. Food was good and I was happy we didn't have to wait 20 minutes to be seated and our waitress was great. Had the chowder and mahi tacos. Service was super slow even though they had adequate wait staff. The place is nice with a dinning area and a lounge area. The scratch chowder was good. It was not thick and not super runny. You could taste the cheese and bacon flavors in the chowder along with potatoes and clams. The blackened mahi tacos were okay. The fish was not really "blackened". When it's blacked it should have a solid sear to it. Check out the photos, not accurate. Taco was runny probably due to the pico. The rice cilantro was decent, but very buttery. It took over 20 minutes to scoop up chowder into a bowl and make the tacos. From the time we got there to the time we actually had food was closer to 30 minutes. Server kept saying food was coming out soon but after multiple times of saying that, it just wasn't. 100% recommend Lucky Fins SEAFOOD Grill in Meridian! I only hesitate to leave a review because I was able to get a reservation a few days in advance and I don't want that to change. I ordered the Lemon Caper Mahi Mahi and it was the best Mahi that I've ever had (better than in Hawaii), my husband had the Wagyu Burger and loved it (it was about an inch thick and perfectly cooked), my mom had Fish & Chip which she said was delicious! I tried their French Fries and they were good and crispy! Our waitress Breanna was excellent - friendly, attentive, and communicative. She made a couple of recommendations and she was spot on! The fish is fresh AND we were told it's delivered fresh 6 days each week...I believe it! I could eat here every day! You've got to try it...we will for sure go back!!! read more

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The food was outstanding... pieces of fish were thick and crispy. Iced tea was brewed strong and actually tasted like tea. The service was beyond excellent and it was a wonderful place to spend our 51st anniversary. It was the first night our waitress, Ally, had worked. She was well trained, efficient, and a blessing to be with. She helped us celebrate our anniversary by bringing us a bread, pudding dessert. The cob salad was blue cheese dressing. It was a little thinner than I would have liked.
