Our dinner at Anthonys Edison tonight was a TOTAL DISGRACE. The service was below poor - it was non existant !!!!. Our server did not have a clue about serving a table - My 10 year old grandson could have done a better job. Food was OK - only problem the 4 pizzas were served over 20-30 minutes - not an enjoyable meal. Now to how much tip for a $180 tab - I would normally be happy to leave $35 - $40 if the service was good and made the meal enjoyable. Instead of leaving what was earned - nothing - I decided, to leave $10 cash. As we were leaving the server confronted me and stated that the tip for a large party was $33.50 - I told her the $10 was from the goodness of my heart If you want an enjoyable meal AVOID Anthonys Edison. Came here late on Sat for a quick dinner! Overall the staff was welcoming, wings were tasty and the pizza and meatballs were average. If it's your first time here you can 2 of either original wings, garlic knots or meatballs. Ambiance: slight dim lighting, plenty of seating, lots of celebrity photos on the wall Service: server was very welcoming! Since it was our first time here She also told us about the complimentary appetizer sampler we could try. We tried the meatballs and the wings Food: - Original wings: hot crispy and lightly seasoned - Meatballs: 1 meatball is huge! Tomato sauce was pretty salty for me and the meatball have slightly mushy texture. The pizza crust/breadstick was very dry and hard - pizza 1/2 square Margherita 1/2 square carnivori: I was surprised that the pizza was round not square. The margherita side had good mozz but I thought it was odd that the basil was just a large bunch at the center of the pizza. I loved the sauce on the Carnivori side. Don't waste your time coming here. There's better pizza in the mall across the street. Overpriced with poor service and tacky decor. $40 for two people for lunch is insane. It's also super dark inside with no lighting but if you're facing the floor to ceiling windows you'll get a glare every time a car drives by. There's massive photos of Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brandon, Marilyn Monroe, etc. there's nothing New York about this place. The lunch specials are tiny and not worth it. The regular pizza has a super thick crust and tastes like a mediocre frozen pizza. I've had better frozen pizzas. The $2 per topping isn't worth it for the tiny and disproportionate toppings you get. The square Margherita lunch special is round and not a real Margherita. They just threw a whole basil plant. It's a thin but soggy crust. Super greasy. Doesn't have the right cheese. It also doesn't count as a lunch special so your drink isn't included. read more

What happened here? This used to a great place. Now it seems that the menu of beers is always lacking. (You should at least have an IPA on draft) Today, we ordered Sam Adams Seasonal, but were given a cider beer. First, we were told that we had the right beer, then the waitress told us the bartender got it wrong as they were out of Sam's. We had wings (mid) and the pizza was burnt. Overall, I felt the service could have been better. Not sure I will be returning any time soon. read more

Went there for happy hour. Dirty dishes on bar, 4 other customers at bar, 1 barmaid told us (party of 4) to sit wherever. We opted to sit at table near front window. Two other tables occupied (4customers total) eating. No one came to our table to greet/welcome us. Waited 5 minutes got our own menus to order . Waited 5 more minutes still no one acknowledged us. We went for happy hour, the spinach artichoke flatbread was missing the spinach they put parsley on it I don't know why the meatball sliders were ok two bites and done very small each one had half a meatball on each garlic knot. The bar was not full but service was slow but friendly read more

We visited this place on a craving for pizza while visiting the area. It was a quaint place in a strip mall. Figuring out how to enter was a bit difficult but worth it. The garlic knots were good but I wished there wasn't as much raw garlic on top of them or that it was.l cooked a bit more. The pizza was good. The crust was chewy and crispy, the sauce just the right level of sweet, cheese was gooey and our bacon wasn't too greasy. This is definitely pizza to eat with a fork. I love this place! I've been here years ago dined inside but now post COVID I've gotten to go. Bout time I review it. FOOD - amazing classic pizza that's not too greasy! I love artisan pizza and toppings but my favorite is classic cheese. This place has one of my favorites because you get the perfect classic cheese pizza with dollops of tomato on top top giving it a nice burst in each bite. And it's somehow not greasy either! I could eat a whole pie myself hah. Dont forget to ask for red pepper flakes and Parmesan toppings! SERVICE - amazing friendly service always. They are polite and understanding. Last time I was there I got pick up and despite it snowing outside the lady bringing the foods to the cars was friendly and polite. COVID - no dining inside I don't think. But to pick up your called ahead order just pull up on the side and wait until they come to your car and ask for the name on the order. Then they get the food and hand it thru your window. I am VERY disappointed with this place. Ordered a pie yesterday, it was not good at all. It was put together sloppily with some parts with no cheese and some genius decide to put whole, canned plum tomatoes on or pie with the sad amount of cheese. Crust was burnt and powdery. Happy Saturday my fellow Adventurers! I wanted to love this place, I did. I opted for take out because this week was a whopper. Generally I like sitting and dinning for the full experience. But based on preference I do not like roasted wings. I prefer fried hot wings of any kind. You can get 5 wings for under $9 and 10 for under $11 but you can't mix and match. I ordered the garlic Romano and classic buffalo. The garlic wings were pretty good and did not have a lot of charred parts. The classic buffalo I was not a fan. At all. Too many parts were charred and the sauce was not even close to classic buffalo spice. I also ordered the large Caesar, the dressing was really good! I judge based in Caesar dressing and this was delicious. The salad was crisp, fresh, and the croutons were so toasty. I also ordered the garlic knots last minute and they were really tasty! The fresh garlic and Parmesan cheese are so god. I was pleasantly surprised! The girls who helped me do takeout were really nice and attentive. The overall feel of the place feels like a Sunday diner with family. The walls are filled with celebrities and various famous people(this seems like a Jersey dinner thing---honestly). The bar looked super cute and I definitely need to check next time. Next time I'm getting a cocktail and pizza, the caprese looked good. P.S. This is my favorite chain restaurant. Whenever I'm in town Anthony's is a must-visit for me. I've been to Anthony's countless times over the last 3+ years. I love their Classic Italian Salad, Meatballs with Ricotta, and their pizzas, of course. They have great wines, sangria, and cocktails too. It's not the cheapest place so be prepared to pay up or share pizza and apps with your group. The best deal is Wednesday's Meatballs & Martinis for $5 Martinis from 5pm to close. Join their rewards club and put your phone number on your receipt to receive points for purchases to receive money off your bill in the future. Service is usually good. Anthony's can be busy during peak hours so it doesn't hurt to call ahead especially if you have a large groups. One time I went with a group of 9 people and they were incredibly accommodating. I called one hour ahead and by the time we got there our table was all set and ready for us. Most of the time the service is great. They have a parking lot, so I've never had an issue with parking. Plus they are right next to Target which is convenient. read more

My family is a frequent visitor at Anthony's In Edison NJ. We are always treated so warmly by Lisa. She knows where my family likes to sit, always treats us like her family asking how our week was and how our new grandson is. She seems to know little something about each of her regular customers. She sets the tone for the restaurant. Adrianna was our server. She was polite, had a beautiful smile on her face, paid attention to our order and brought out our delicious food in the order we asked it to be. She was very accommodating for just serving us for the first time. No complaints. Then the manager Brandon, is wonderful. He never asks his staff to do something he wouldn't do himself. He helps cook, brings out the food to the tables, greets guests and walks around to all of the tables making sure his customers are satisfied. He knows his regulars by name which is an added bonus. This restaurant doesn't get the recognition it deserves. My family enjoys going here because we feel like a part of their family. Only complaint....not having AC that works. One time you can be understanding but the 3 week you go for dinner and it is so hot inside should not be. Through the sweat on the staffs faces one thing that didn't waiver was their smiles and the staff made the best of a bad situation. That speaks volumes in our eyes!!!! Very disappointed about the pizza I just picked up. I tried the New Hot Honey Pizza, and when I opened the box, half the pizza didn't have pepperoni and to be honest, it looks as though my pizza had been recycled from another pie that wasn't eaten. I was very disappointed when my wife picked Anthony's bc it's a chain. It beat my expectations although I found it to be very expensive. We ordered a large Philly cheesesteak pie, a medium cauliflower pie, 10 dry rub wings and 2 sodas for two. It was our first time; we ordered based on pictures and reviews on Yelp. So, first and foremost, I didn't care for the original dry rub wings. They had a bite, which I like, but they were sooo salty. Coming from someone that salts almost everything... However, I think we ordered wrong, because the original original wings were much better and served with a heap of sautéed onions on top. Those were good! The pizza really gets to a different level with the coal ovens. There's a nice char on it that adds flavors and texture. Everyone seemed to rave about the cauliflower pizza. It was good, not great. On the other hand, the Philly cheesesteak pie was really good, particularly because it seems that they're using real beef, thick-cut in house. The bill came to $70, including tax. I will say, they use good ingredients, but I think it's value is below its price point bc 2 pizzas and wings shouldn't cost $70. In order for the bill to make sense, the cheesesteak must've been around $30 and the cauliflower about $25. I don't expect prices to change because of my opinion. We ordered to go. The Arugala Burrata salad was awesome, and we loved the buffalo wings and honey wings. However, the pizza was not good. We ordered just a plain cheese and it was smothered with tomato sauce on top of the mozzarella so it was watery and seemed undercooked. Crust was good but the pizza as a whole was bland. I usually don't waste my calories on pizza that is not from NYC but we were on a time crunch and was near Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. We just got the infamous thick sliced pepperoni because come on. Pepperoni is just a classic but the thick cuts are oomffff. The girl who took our order was super friendly and accommodating. She also suggested we can pull up to the pick up spot on the side so they will bring out our food. We waited about 15 mins and someone came out to deliver. Although the worker who delivered our food was not as friendly, we took it with a grain of salt and proceeded to go home to enjoy our pie anyways. I wish I could've tasted it right out of the oven, but because we had other obligations, it was a bit delayed. The pizza was pretty good but the only downfall was the crust was SUPER thin where it got burnt and that did not taste good.
