Anthony's is a small Italian shop that serves sandwiches, pizza and other Italian food. There are no tables to eat at but the place is nice and clean. I have been here at least one other time so I knew this place was good, but maybe I forgot how good. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and an Italian on a bulkie. Thank god I only ordered the small because it was enormous. The sandwich is huge, there may have been 1 lb of meat on it. If too much meat is a thing this may have too much. But it is sliced thin and it was easy to bite through. The sandwich is delish. They slice the meat to order and the toppings were fresh. The slice of pizza was huge and only $4. I would call it bakery style pizza. The cheese is the star of the pizza and all of the flavor is in the cheese. The crust is soft but nice and there is only a thin layer of sauce that I couldn't really taste. For desert I got a thing of homemade stuffed cherry peppers. I loved them and can't wait to devour the rest of the container later tonight.

We ordered some take out yesterday for lunch. Very basic inside, but they're very quick! I got a steak and cheese and it was stuffed full, but could have used a little more cheese. The braided roll was very fresh. My husband got their Italian and that sub was HEAVY! They did add a little too much of the pickles and not enough of the hots. We'll definitely be back!

We moved to Stoneham back in 1978 and Anthony's has been a generational legend. Mom used to cook the meatballs on Saturday morning. Oh that delicious smell when you walked in. You can get a sandwich on a roll, sub roll or a braided roll. When I picked up my Italian on a braided roll I was shocked by the weight. I knew I had to put this beast on a scale.. 1lb 13 oz. Just pickles, tomatoes and light on the hots. I could only eat half on day one and finished it on day 2. I was feeling like Homer Simpsons and his sandwich. It's the Holy Grail of Italian Subs.

    Italian Sub

Best Italian sub on the North Shore. Absolutely packed with meats and extras. They even have gluten free rolls. No complaints

Had a GIGANTIC sandwich here! It was good. Definitely split one sandwich for two people. You will be surprised how large it is! :)

Enormous lunch time steak and cheese on a braided roll. Definitely can't take the day off at the gym but had a smile for hours.

Best Italian sub north of the city. The guys working here are also super solid. I highly recommend this joint.

The best turkey sandwich I've ever had. Fresh bread and produce. The sub size is huge.

As someone who loves dining out--and who's Italian and has been fortunate enough to visit Italy…read moremany times--this was the meal of the year. I honestly can't think of another restaurant that captures the essence of Northern Italian cuisine at this level. Every single dish we ordered was exceptional. My advice: go family-style so you can share and experience as much of the menu as possible. The tortellini was outstanding, the pasta with the brandy cream sauce was unforgettable, and the short rib was absolutely phenomenal. Not a single dish missed, and there wasn't one thing we wouldn't order again. To top it all off, the chef came over to our table at the end of the meal to say hello--a thoughtful touch that made an already incredible experience even more memorable. I would put this restaurant up against anything I've had in Italy, and without question, it's the best Italian restaurant in the Boston area. The most surprising part? It's in Woburn, not the North End. 10/10. An unforgettable dining experience

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.

The interior is nicely decorated, and for a smaller (than most) restaurant on a busy Friday night, we got our food and drinks pretty quickly. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak - I ordered medium well but got it well done, but the added my cooked onions to the meal and I was content. My mom and aunt ordered the short rib and they enjoyed their dishes. This is a cute place to catch up with friends, go on a date, or bring the little ones. Happy this is in the area!

There are plenty of options for food, beer, wine, and cocktails, which makes it easy for groups. Service was exceptional on both visits. Friendly, attentive, and well paced without feeling rushed. That stood out and made both meals more enjoyable. Inside, the setup is comfortable and casual with a lively but manageable atmosphere. It is a good place for a meal or just drinks. The Stones is located right in downtown Stoneham and has easy off street parking, which is a plus. On my visits, I had the cheeseburger flatbread once and a steak the other time. Both were good. When I have been in others ordered the salmon, cheeseburger, and Cobb salad, and everything looked solid. No complaints from anyone. Overall, this is a reliable and easy place to come back to. Good food, strong service, and a setting that works for a range of occasions. I would come back anytime.
