Chicken finger pizza
Nicholas G.

Needed some pizza after a long day of helping my friend move. Anthony's was close enough so we ordered delivery. We were craving garlic knots so went with a handful of those. These were not very garlicky and were dry. They are more like dough sprinkled with some a pinch of garlic and salt. The mozz sticks werent much better and I think they were frozen. I would not go with these 2 items again. Now for the star of the show... the pizza. We ordered the chicken finger pie, plain, and margherita. The plain pizza was pretty solid. Your typical nj slice and that is not an insult. Tasted like boardwalk pizza in a good way. We also got the margherita I believe and it wasnt very good. The tomato's on the pizza were bland and didn't taste of high quality. If you are going to do a margherita you need quality ingredients because there aren't many of them on there. The chicken tender pizza tasted like the plain with the topping on it so if you like chicken fingers on your pizza go for it. Overall, I was happy with the plain slice. It is exactly the type of quality I thought I would find in this area. It is not nyc level pizza but for the burbs it will do.

a slice of pizza on a paper plate

Always love stopping to try a slice when out of my area to see what else is in NJ, and was not disappointed! The Sicilian and Buffalo chicken slices were delicious, not to mention the perfect garlic knots. The pizza crust was perfectly crispy and the employees were so nice!! I will be back soon. Worth the 25 minute ride

Time warp pizza parlor with several HD TVs to remind everyone that their prices may be incredibly cheap (a la 1980), but they are still state of the art video-wise. The regular Pizza Slice has a strong firm crust that holds its point even when somewhat cooled (second slice). There is a preference for cheese over tomato sauce, making this a pizza rather than a T. Pie. The taste is good, but the dominance of the cheese makes it a heavier experience with a bit of oil drip, rather than the more subtle flavors that arise when the sauce takes priority with hints of plum tomato, basil, oregano, garlic and even sugar. Not a bad place for a quick lunch with a throwback flair. Even the local constabulary has been known to drop in for lunch. Two slices of regular pizza and a medium fountain drink (iced tea) comes in at $5. Hard to beat! You may not get the sensations of some of the more famous pizza houses in the area (you know who they are), but neither are you being asked to pay a premium for the privilege of manging on a pie with pedigree. Anthony's Pizza Palace is a fun dine down memory lane. The large pies are at most $17., and the dinners top out at $12.95, complete with salad and bread. There is a place in the world for decent cheap Italian grub.

Large pizza with sausage and mushroom. The mushrooms are canned and the sausage is flavorless.

Pizza is ok, definitely not the best in the area though. A little doughy and toppings are ample but not necessarily in a good way. 2.5 stars

I don't know what planet the other reviewers are from but their pizza has to be close to the worst I've ever had.

Yummy pizza! Cheap and not like the other pizza in the area! It's more like REAL pizza (like I get from North Jersey).

Came back again as we are frequent customers. Always a great safe place to bring friends and…read morefamily. Never ever a bad or adequate meal, hence the opposite--- always a memorable, enjoyable, tasty, beautifully plated presentatin. Last night the 4 of use shared the now back in season watermelon salad adn the vongol veraci to start. Each of us had a different dish and were so very pleased, not one issue. Sicilian caponata, pollo pistachio, tuscan pasta, 12oz prime new york strip and I LOVED the halibut special. Each again was beautfilly prepared, and plated. For dessert as we had our arms twiseted by Jimbo--- we shared the Tiramisu and Bourbon Toffee Cake between the 2 couples. Jimo is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love this place, time and time again a 5 Great Review.

Very deserving. I don't even know where to begin bc they hit it out if the ball park for us. Our compliments to the chef!!! So I have to start with my Pork Chop...omg...perfect. Rocco's closed down in Newtown, PA and their pork chop was the best...this pork chop was right up there with Rocco's. The mustard sauce, unique topping, was amazing. I am thinking about it today and my mouth is watering. My husband's veal was probably the best he has ever had. The most tender veal ever with a delicious marsala sauce. Then there were the pastas and seafood...all delicious. Oh and the calamari. It was all so darn good. Kyle was our server and he added to a perfect dining experience. He answered our questions, described the choices right on, made recommendations, he was friendly, had a wanting to please attitude and my 13 yr old granddaughter was crushing on him. (Haha). Wish all of our servers were that effecient and good. Gotta love a BYOB! The restaurant is modernly decorated and very comfortable. High energy kinda place. Noise level was high but all restaurants are loud these days and it really wasn't too bad. It was our first time at this restaurant and even though it is a bit far...we can't wait to go back. It is a pleasure to support a family run business. The owner came to our table and you could see her pride and we also felt our business was appreciated. I see why every table was full on a Sunday night. I just wish this place were in our neighborhood!! Love love love it!!!

Delivery to me (in fairness I'm close) has been extremely fast! I've had their pizza once too- pretty darn good. But, to see this "hole in the wall" pizza place knock out these amazingly large, so fresh, salads w meats and chicken--- just excellent!! .... Don't forget the garlic knots!

I stopped by Joey's Pizza of Hamilton on a quiet Wednesday afternoon around lunchtime. The place…read moresits in a small strip mall on Whitehorse Mercerville Road in Hamilton Township. Inside, the noon lull had settled in with only two other tables occupied and a gentle background hum from the kitchen. It felt calm and unhurried, the sort of place that knows what it is and does not make a fuss about it. The server was friendly in a simple and efficient way. He was not talkative, but he took my order quickly and brought everything out with speed and accuracy. I appreciated the straightforward approach. There is something refreshing about a place that does not try to charm you into staying longer than you intend. In an act that might be considered a small betrayal of the name on the sign, I ordered a cheesesteak with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and a side of fries. When it arrived, it was steaming hot. The first bite nearly burned the roof of my mouth, which was entirely my own fault for being too eager. The steak itself was very good. It was tender, well seasoned, and deeply satisfying in that familiar corner shop way. My single complaint concerns the vegetables. The mushrooms, onions, and peppers were present, but only barely. They felt like reluctant participants. I wanted more of their flavor and more of their texture to give the sandwich a fuller personality. As it was, they took a quiet supporting role when they could have done more. The fries were solid. They were crisp enough, salted enough, and they did their job without calling attention to themselves. Not remarkable, but certainly not disappointing. The total came to just under twenty dollars including a tip. The server seemed genuinely surprised that I left a little extra, which made me feel oddly cheerful. For a lunch that was honest, warm, and uncomplicated, it felt like money well spent. Joey's Pizza does not try to reinvent anything. It serves straightforward comfort food with sincerity. I left with a full stomach and a clear mind. That earns four stars from me.
