Popped on YELP after a special event in Trenton.. everyone was hungry and it was after 8pm.. so Pizza it is.. but the traditional TRENTON pie places were too far out to make in time.. so we Found Nino's.. a little apprehensive as unfamiliar with the area so we went anyway.. I've been eating at this place since the mid-90's! It's still my number one pizza place. They make better NY style pizza than anywhere in NY and make better cheesesteaks than anywhere in Philly!! Their crust in unmatched and they make the dough for the Sicilian pies correct!! This is the place that I compare all the other pizza places to. The service has always been great. The food is always made fresh and fast, but it's never premade (with the exemption of pizza of course). The ambiance is the only place where it falls short because there really hasn't been any updates to the location since the start, so it's very outdated. But this place has been a staple for decades. NOBODY comes here for the ambiance lol. read more

the worst cheesesteak I've ever had. Roll was stale, hardly any cheese and the meat... I could've made better at home. They use to be good.

I love this place, I moved to FL 4 years ago and I'm always craving the cheese steak with the wing sauce. I always ate it at least 2 or 3 times a week. Don't know what everyone else has been smoking, but this former corner diner cum Nino's Pizzarama doesn't make very good pies. The place sits at the intersection of Chambers and Genesee Streets, a locale that is not designed to make you feel secure. Through the large dirty windows pass the tempest tossed ravages of Trenton. The dive is tiny with 5 tables, and floors, walls and windows that have not been washed in who knows how long. I came in for a couple of slices, and was told by the counterman that the uncut pizza in front of him had just come out of the oven. No reason to doubt him. He tried to fit both slices on a single white paper plate, and when the point of one folded over and began to drip onto his counter, I asked for a second plate to hold both triangles. He handed me the plate and I slid it under the drooping offender. I sat down at a booth, sprinkled on the hot pepper flakes, and picked up the first slice. It had not folded, and the undercarriage was actually thin and quite firm. It held its point well until I snapped it off with one bite. It was indeed hot. The immediate taste was that of pizza - if a little salty from the cheese, and slick from the oil moistening the surface. After putting it back on the plate, the oil began to run off the slice and onto the plate and ultimately the table when I picked it up again. Too much poor quality cheese, and not enough of any quality sauce. I could not taste it over the shouting of the fromage. The second slice, cooler, was no better. The original damage required a two handed pickup. The fold where I bent it to be able to pick it up began to run a rivulet of oil, and dripped from the outer rim. the oily saltiness was the dominant message. Just not very good. The young lads next to me said their cheesesteak was good, so maybe that is the way to go. Straight pizza slices, certainly wasn't. read more

I was playing a show at the Mill Hill and had a late night hankering for pizza. I ordered it through grub hub and it arrived promptly. This was excellent pizza. The kind I look for and can never find. Thin crust with the cheese perfectly mixing with the sauce. I will definitely order from here next time I'm in the area. read more

I ordered a philly cheese steak and a order of fries and everything was on point from the bread to the steak to the fries all was delicious . Classic. I grew up eating Nino's more than any other Trenton/Hamilton pizza, so this style of pizza is one of my favorites. This is a super old school neighborhood pizzeria takeout joint with a few booths and cash only, no delivery. It's not Trenton tomato pie and it's not Italian pizza (nor is it trying to be gourmet/fancy). Maybe New York style would be the closest description? The sauce is a bit darker and more robust than some places and the cheese is salty and tangy (and yes, a bit oily, but it's not applied too thickly like, say, Brother's on 33, another childhood favorite). I'm guessing Nino's might use another sharper cheese in addition to mozzarella. The crust is crisp but not crackery and holds up as opposed to getting soggy. That's the regular pizza. Where Nino's really excels is the Sicilian pizza. I've only had as good Sicilian at one place in Philly that no longer exists. Everywhere else around here seems to get their bake wrong or their dough doesn't have the right taste or texture. Many places prebake the crust way too long and that browned dough taste doesn't go well with sauce. I prefer the dough tender where it meets the sauce. Here, the Sicilian crust is medium in thickness, light in texture, and is deliciously crisped on the bottom from the oiled baking pan. I get mine with no cheese and with garlic. Yum yum. One of my all time favorite meals is this Sicilian paired with their classic iceberg salad (on the menu as "antipasto" modified with no meat, no cheese, and with the usual onions, tomato, black olives, hot pepper, oil, and vinegar). I love having this after a long trip to the southern US pizza desert. The cheesesteaks and chicken cheesesteaks are also very good, especially cheesesteak hoagie style. In a word, disappointing. I had heard good things about Nino's Pizzarama, so one day while in the area and feeling hungry, I dropped in for a slice. I walked into the small, old converted diner and felt like I stepped into the 1970's. I ordered one slice, to go. $2.25. I pulled the slice out of the brown paper bag it came in, and was greeted by globs of oil resting in the middle of it. After dabbing the excess oil off with napkins, I was able to take a bite. A tad salty, and way mediocre. I wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more
