Dropped in for a late lunch on Saturday. Service was excellent. Very friendly and even gave us some examples of what the in house chef does for daily dinner specials. Food is fresh and made in house. Went to Anthony's specifically because of the UFC event! Wanted to sit out in the patio bar area but no seats available. So we went inside to the front bar area and had the best time ever! Glass was never empty! Great appetizers and terrific food! JoJo and his posse behind the bar are the bomb. They were very attentive to the customers and their needs! Decided to go in and get something to eat knowing it's a restaurant online and they close pretty late. ) (I'm from Schaumburg and decided to come visit friends and family) It's 9:30 pm. I'm looking for parking and thinking this place must be really good because I couldn't find parking. I'm walking in with my friend and they have security checking ID's WHAT!? Is this a club or a restaurant? So I go in and they check IDs again and charge a $5 FEE! WHAT!? And stamp my hand with a Anthony's mark. Am I in a club down in Chicago? No im not. Loud music is going on, people drinking, see drunk people, young crowd, no one eating, music is so loud I couldn't have a social conversation with my friend whom I have not seen in a year. As I sat down I felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable right away! Very ghetto atmosphere, stupid people and bartenders looks trashy. This is a restaurant, NOT A CLUB !!! I'm also pissed I paid $5 to walk in this place! Joliet seems to be very ghetto now. Never will I come here not recommend family or friends here. Not worth it. read more

My wife and I saw this restaurant driving by the mall one day and said we would go so we finally got around to it we walked in and were pleasantly surprised how nice it was inside and are waiter was really nice and the food was pretty good too, I guess it kinda came across as a upscale sports bar. I wrote a review about Anthony's a few days ago that was hidden due to Yelps automated review software which hides reviews based on customer activity and customer profiles, is this right? Yelp is supposed to be completely bias service and they deleted my review because I have not reviewed other places prior to this one, which begs the question why should I use yelp or for that matter anyone use Yelp as they are going to use only reviews that they feel are driven by visits or customer profile. I will be using metro mix at least they are a service that doesn't pretend to be something they aren't a sensored service. The service was great along with the food. A friend and I had Miranda as our server. She greeted us right away and let us know about the specials. The drinks and food came out very quickly and were delicious. Miranda was very attentive and friendly. You can tell she genuinely cares about her tables. This was a pleasant surprise. I was temporarily assigned to work in Joliet and wound up having lunch here a few times. The food is much better than I expected. The fried pickles are the best that I've had anywhere and the Cajun tilapia salad is not to be missed. Prompt, cordial service and a great menu make this place a hidden gem. In town for business and checked this place out. The staff was welcoming and on top of their game. The food was outstanding. They had a variety of food/drink specials and the food was outstanding. The ambience had a family feel but also a bar which could definitely get busy on the weekends. The outside patio looked amazing for summer. I love the restaurant and bar tenders but the manager Nick is a prick. I spent $40 on the juke box and he turned it off because of the Bulls game. After I've been there watching games all evening. When I asked for a reimbursement or some type of compensation (discount) he got chesty (bucking up against me) with me and told me my tab was now closed. It was very disrespectful. No conflict resolution or consideration coming from the manager!!! Then when I mentioned I had enough he accused me of threating him trying to make something bigger than what it was putting his big stomach on me!!! read more

We have now been here a dozen times and have a perspective of service, price and value. Service has never disappointed. Rachel is one of the best! The entire bar staff is service centric. After reading the reviews on Yelp today, our family decided to go to Anthony's tonight. I'm a vegetarian and my family they are meatatarian's so sometimes it's hard for me to find something to eat when we go out other than a salad or apps. So I couldn't wait to try the Veggie burger that I saw on their menu. It is house made and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It was so excellent, I'm so used to a dried up Boca burger (if I'm lucky enough for a restaurant to have a veggie burger on the menu). Anthony's burger was moist, and it was served on a pretzel bun, it was SO good. My husband had the Juicy Lucy burger which was a cheddar and bacon stuffed burger and it was also topped with cheddar and bacon served on a pretzel bun he said that was also excellent. And our son had the 8 oz. Hanger Steak with grilled asparagus and roasted potatoes, which he devoured, it was cooked to his perfect medium rare liking. Our waiter was great, he was very friendly and efficient, the hostess on the other hand could have been a lot more friendly and inviting. She was very lacking when we entered, she barely looked up from her little white board that she was writing on to say hello to us and it wasn't even a "hey come on in hello". It kind of made me want to leave right then, she didn't even smile at us. They have a horrible dessert selection, they have only 2 items on their dessert menu, they have some chocolate cake that I guess the slice is so huge it could feed a table of 4 people and then the other dessert is some small tiny greek yogurt cheesecake (yuck greek yogurt that you made into cheesecake - really). Awesome bar probably one of the nicest bars in joliet. After the remodel you wouldn't even recognize it after the dump it used to be. Went there for some ice cold Busch Lattes and was not disappointed. The bartender, Josh, was a B.A.M.F. He repeatedly warded off danger single handedly. Making it a fun and relaxing night. Me and my wife sat at a table first for dinner with one of the best server we had in a long time Jenny. Their food was great quality, taste and price. Then we moved to the bar for a drink and the bartender Mirella was great and entertaining. Great specials especially on Saturdays $2 domestic drafts $4 IPAs $5 patron and more. Horrible service, asked the server for a refill when he dropped the food, he never returned. Now my husband was out of his drink half way through our meal, waited another 5 minutes, I got up to find the server, he was sitting at a table with his feet on the other chair, on his phone and eating.
