Cod was several really small dry Over cooked pieces , fries bland and not warm. Wanted onion rings so waiter said chef makes them special well for $8.00 /6 onion rings nothing special . Husband ordered tempura shrimp which was better. We told waitress and manager was supposed to come talk to us, but didn't . I didn't eat but 1 of the pieces of fish. Not sure why people give this place bad reviews???? The LOCATION is AMAZING!!! Right on the water with views of Mt Raineer when it's not too cloudy. We have also always had great service. Reservations are recommended but we usually come EARLY and walk right in. They have amazing deals early Monday through Thursday where you get a 3 course meal for $30!!! My wife had clam chowder, Manila clams, and chocolate mousse for $30. I had the lobster fettuccine and it was also only $30 and came with half a lobster tail. Rainy night but still was seated at a table by a window with a view of the bay... Great food - ordered off the Sunset Menu and was pleased with the menu and the selection. Starter was the clam chowder, oysters and salmon dip. Main entree was salmon with rice pilaf, garlic prawns and London broil - all delicious and perfectly prepared. We had dinner last night Monday the 14th. The food was very poorly done. My husband shrimp and asparagus which was barely warm and greasy. My Grandson had shrimp linguine which had large chunks of zucchini, empty shells of clams and mussels. A couple shrimp and lots of tiny salad shrimp. Very watery not creamy at all. My Son had cod which was coated and cooked in sour cream. Looked curled, too much sour cream. Daughter -in-law had shrimp served in a bowl of butter. I had clam chowder only thank goodness. Well let me preface by saying this has been our absolute favorite restaurant and had been eating here most Fridays since our move to Gig Harbor .So imagine my disappointment when we go in to eat this evening June 6. We went to the downstairs bar as per usual around 4 pm. Took forever to get a drink , already knew what we would have on the menu . Ordered and sat there and sat there and sat there. Our waitress Vanessa completely ignores us repeatedly .She comes around finally , I have yo remind her we ordered bread with our drinks and we still have no bread , she says our entrees are almost ready , but wait ... we haven't even been served out appetizers . More waiting she brought the wrong size soup for my husband . More waiting , I inquire if everything is okay as I have never waited even half this long to be served here . More waiting we finally give up on getting a meal and ask to be cashed out , never to return . Do better this was our favorite Friday restaurant . read more

We wanted an early rez and not only did they accommodate, but they also have an early-bird menu (app, meal with sides, and desert) for a fixed price. Nice option. Two people had the early bird (salmon and scampi) our third had soup and salad. Fish was overcooked, shrimp was too buttery. Hopefully an aberration. Great service. I've been to several of the Anthony's locations over the years and this may be the best of the bunch. Start with the amazing view of the marina and Mt Ranier in the distance - add in terrific food and quality service. We started with ahi taco appetizer (awesome), next was a fantastic spinach salad with peaches and blue cheese, then Kathy had black con and I had the king salmon - both perfect. Finished with the peach cheesecake. The service was first rate - attentive without being annoying. I give it five stars because they won't let me give it six. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by Anthony's. Was the day before Mother's Day so they were serving a prix fix menu. Mostly seafood with a couple steaks accompanied by something seafood. I don't eat seafood though. We started with the tempura asparagus...excellent! Boyfriend had a cup of the clam chowder which he said was good and definitely had some thought put into it...above average and lighter than it looked. I ordered the Filet Oscar with the "oscar" on the side for the boyfriend (who said it was tasty). It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Mashed just ok; asparagus cooked perfectly. Boyfriend had the wild caught king salmon cooked medium (also with mashed and asparagus ) cooked perfectly, medium body in flavor but enjoyable. Dessert was a rhubarb and strawberry covered cheesecake which was dense and delicious! We brought our own wine (a 2018 BV Tapestry). Corkage fee was only $10 - wow! The service was excellent...kudos to the staff!! The view of Gig Harbor was one of the best views ever that we've seen from a restaurant. Was our last night in the Pacific Northwest and couldn't have asked for a better evening. read more

I just had an absolutely fantastic lunch here! We took the boat out to explore and were able to dock for free right in front of the restaurant! Our hostess was incredibly nice and chatted with us about the immaculate view! We ordered halibut fish and chips and while halibut is easy to overcook, it came out perfectly. We also ordered the crab and shrimp on toast and it was fantastic. I highly recommend if you love artichoke dip. A bit like a seafood version of that. Lastly I ordered the a beautiful Cioppino and Cesar. It was a yummy tomato sauce with salmon, cod, mussels, and clams with a nicely tossed Cesar! Our waitress, Mandi, was fantastic! She checked on us often and... kinda random... but made the best soda water with lime I've ever had. She muddled the limes before pouring in the ice and soda and it was so yummy. Went for happy hour on a Friday. Was not super busy but gradually got more busy. the service was horrible downstairs. Sorry to say. Been here many a time for dinner upstairs and it's been great. Our Server downstairs was standing around talking and not being attentive to his tables. Never came back to ask how things were or if we wanted anything else. We had to constantly get his attention. And the food sadly was just ok. We had the calamari Cesar and Mussels. The ambiance was nice. Nice views of the harbor and you can see seals on the deck. That was entertaining and cute. This was my first time doing happy hour downstairs so hoping it was just a first time experience. I will try it again and maybe it will be better. read more

I was extremely excited to try this place with my significant other. We were super excited for the calamari but were quickly disappointed. There was not much calamari but a lot of batter and it was very salty. Our server was so kind and asked if we wanted a new batch or for it to be taken off our tab. We also ordered the surf and turf with a medium rare sirloin and pan-fried oysters. Everything from the veggies, to the mashed potatoes were delicious. Clam chowder is really award winning. Half-Shell oysters were great as well. Our server, Jackie, was super friendly, and kind. She provided excellent service to us and made the experience so much better. She recommended the dulce de lèche ice cream and it was incredible! Definitely would come back for her service. Will definitely ask for her again. read more

Ambiance is fabulous as they have the best view in the harbor. Service was great with a very friendly server. Food was mediocre at best. Caesar salad was the star and was very good however, the entrees did not impress. Salmon with peach salsa was dry and peaches were crunchy with very little flavor. My husband had a 6oz sirloin which was tender. However we both tasted an unpleasant seasoning on his steak and my rice which we think was cinnamon? It comes down to personal taste. We have been going to Anthony's restaurants for over 30 years. Yes inflation has struck many restaurants however our experience at this particular facility to us was upsetting. I ordered herb crusted Halibut it was listed at 36.00 for a filet of good fish that's a normal price, my husband ordered Halibut fish and chips the lunch menu said 29.00 (again for Halibut it's expected) when we received our bill ..... my husbands was charged 42.00!!!!! 42.00 for 3 small pieces of fried halibut! We asked the waitress for the menu because we knew we saw 29.00, she proceeded to say oh you had the 3 piece so it's more...... WHAT, it jumped from 29.00 to 42.00 for on more piece, ANDDDDD my husband was NOT asked ( how many pieces do you want)!!!!! She went back and talked to I'm guessing the manager but came back and said the price was correct and was it ok...... what the hell where we supposed to say, we were there with family didn't want to make a scene and of course she knew we were not ok as the way we were continuing to discuss the price! RIDICULOUS! A whole filet of halibut was lass than fried halibut I don't think so..... we won't be back to this location. The ambiance is gorgeous but eh I'll find halibut elsewhere. From the moment you walk through the front door, you're treated like gold. Our server she was so wonderful very sweet and patient because we were a large group of 17 people. The decor of the restaurant is lovely with stunning views of the water, no matter which way you face they made it so you could see the water. The shrimp were beautiful very fresh delicious with a nice crispy outside. The salad that I got with that had a wonderful balsamic drizzle over the top. Everything was so fresh and delicious here.. our waitress are so prompt and professional. She was always there when someone needed some thing I'd recommend going here. It's just outstanding. If you have a pretty good size party I would really suggest making reservations because this place can be very busy. Lunchtime is more of the retired people being there and they stayed for hours and hours so making a reservation is highly encouraged. read more

We had a surprise 50th Wedding Anniversay party there recently. Other than the spectacular views we received 5 star treatment from start to finish. The managers, waiters, bar staff and chef couldn't have done a better job. They provided us with details we wouldn't have even considered like personalized menus. It was perfect in every way and we highly recommend this venue for any function you are considering. We ordered small blue cheese salad w/shrimp, coconut shrimp, bowl of chowder and they brought out bread which was one of the best parts!! Fresh warm sourdough with crisp crust soft chewy interior, chilled butter... yummy. The salad was kind of pitiful with maybe one tablespoon of cheap tiny shrimp meat and couple grape tomatoes for $11, nothing like their sister restaurant Harbor Lights. The coconut shrimp looked and tasted like a frozen prepared product, not sweet fresh or plump.. just over fried and disappointing w/ sauce that had odd taste for being sweet chili sauce, $19 completely wasted. Thankfully we added the clam chowder, wow was that the star along with the bread. We each had two cocktails $12-14 each, good but for simple drinks a bit pricey. Our bill was a whopping $102-!!! We had planned on going the next night for happy hour and early bird 3-course dinner but unfortunately after spending so much on 3 apps & drinks we forwent that idea. They weren't big enough to really stuff them so all you could taste was mushroom. I ordered the Mahi it was pretty good. We've been there 4 times now. We had an amazing dinner at Anthony's for my birthday! We were visiting the Gig Harbor area for some medical appointments and found them online. The entire experience from start to finish was great. The hostesses were very friendly. Our server, I think her name might have been Felicity? But I can't quite recall was amazing. Informative on the dishes. They have seasonal offering in the form of peach drinks, salads, and desserts. They brought out our toddlers food first which if you are a parent of a small child, you know how helpful this is! We ordered the coconut prawns for an appetizer. My husband got the ahi special which he devoured before I was able to finish cracking open my Dungeness crab legs for the steak and crab meal. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. For dessert we got the peach cheesecake that had the burnt cream topping and it was the best ending to dinner. When our toddler started to get cranky one of the bussers brought her a little toy which kept her entertained long enough for us to finish up dinner. We stopped for lunch on August 31st, 4 of us. First off the man that was at the fron desk, who we believe was a manger, was an absolute, snotty, uppity turd. We were actually laughing at what a jerk he was. We would have left if it werent for the fact we were in a hurry. The hostess that was with him, was right up there with him. So that all was really disappointing. I wont go into details, but it really set the mood for our family having a nice lunch together. We had to wait awhile for the server to come on duty, as we requested to sit outside. That was fine, but nobody told us that was why we were waiting so long.
