Superb view of the harbor; relaxing atmosphere; attentive service. Food fairly good, but slightly overpriced.

When the bread basket is the best part of the meal there is a problem. We had a 7pm reservation and once seated and ordered quickly we waited 45 minutes for our entrees! My husband ordered a steak he wanted medium-rare, instead he got a well done stringy steak that looked more like pot roast. The 1/4 cup of potatoes and broccoli hardly filled him up. I got the rockfish entree with pilaf. The rice was sort of Indian spiced and didn't pair well with the Cajun spiced fish. Furthermore the rice was crunchy and also only about 3 tablespoons worth. The berry salad was ok and the server was nice but I'm just not up for spending $140 for two very disappointing meals. Update: after complaint was filed I did receive a call from the general manager as well as a letter containing a gift certificate. I'm not sure we'll be using it however I do appreciate the rapid follow up and commitment to improve things at the restaurant. I hope other guests are able to enjoy better food! read more

My friend's favorite dining spot in Gig Harbor was slammed with patrons on a September Sunday evening. We had a bit of a wait, even with reservations. We had good glasses of Pinot Grigio and enjoyable dinners of Black Cod and Silver Salmon Salad. We seemed to be among the last seated for the evening, so we were able to leisurely enjoy our meals as the frenetic hustle began to die down in the restaurant. It was an enjoyable evening. read more

Today we took a boat tour in Gig Harbor and we were told we could use the public restroom across the street or Anthony's next door. When we walked in past the hostess desk we stopped and just told them we are using their restroom. The gentleman at the desk was not happy about that and told us very rudely "to leave the bathroom the way we found it". First of all, they are not clean to begin with and secondly, maybe let your neighboring business know, not to tell their customers to use your restrooms. This was the dirtiest crab I've seen on a plate. The shells were full of green mold, the crab made itself was brown, and it didn't taste that great for Dungeness crab. Since that was my meal, I can say I was not impressed. The potatoes and brussels sprouts on the side were OK, maybe I should've ordered more of those. I'd visited Anthony's years ago and didn't think much of it but I returned again last night with the family for dinner and boy have things changed! We were greeted right away and taken to a great table right at the windows, the view was so beautiful!! Our server was great, friendly guy with amazing customer care. He recommended the calamari and coconut prawns as appetizers and both were great. Probably the best coconut prawns I've ever had. The sauce with the calamari was also really, really good. He also recommended a great bottle of wine to share and shockingly it wasn't the most expensive, I always like when I feel like we're getting good service and not just being sold. I had the clam linguine. The sauce was perfect and the noodles amazing and the portion size was perfect. My finance had the salmon which was also perfectly cooked and came with yummy scalloped potatoes. The kids had the burger, fettuccine and salmon and they all ate every bit of it. We even commented that the linguine and salmon were better than last time we went to el goucho (which was recently) and half the price. For desert we shared the cobbler and the kids had cheesecake. Again, total wins. Whatever happened in the past few years was a great change for this spot! We'll be back for sure! read more

We recently embarked upon a road trip from California to Washington State. My cousin lives in Gig Harbor so we decided to get together for dinner. He originally recommended a place down the road but we didn't realize that it was a real Tavern. When they asked for ID, we realized that our 17 year old younger cousin could not dine at that establishment. So my cousin who knows the area quite well suggested that we check out Anthony's. With that being said, we drove down the road and stopped by Anthony's. There's an open lot across the street as well as street parking in front of the restaurant. Anthony's is adjacent to the water, giving you a nice view of the harbor. From the outside, the restaurant appears to be somewhat small but when you walk inside, it's larger than you may have expected. The first thing that you notice when you enter the restaurant is that they have large windows giving you the perfect view of the harbor. Several booths line the walkway and they can easily accommodate up to 4 people. Tables are placed at the lower level next to the window. No matter where you sit, you'll always have a nice view as you enjoy your meal. Soon after our arrival, we were seated. We began to view the menu selections. I was intrigued with the garlic shrimp plate because everything seemed so delicious. A lot of their standard menu selections were tempting as well but this one really stood out to me. Our meal began with a Cesar's salad and shrimp cocktail. It was picture perfect! When the main course arrived, I was impressed! The prawns were placed in a small plate shaped like a jellybean. They were resting in a buttery substance as the shrimp soaked up the flavor. They were perfectly butterflied and cooked well. The rice pilaf had almonds imbedded in the mix and it added more flavor to the rice. I especially liked the green beans that had a buttery coating on them as well. The entire meal was absolutely delicious! To top it all off, a hot fudge sundae was served to close out our meal. It was simple and sweet. Anthony's was a happy accident for us because we didn't intend to come here. We had a wonderful time at Anthony's because service was great, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious! We had never been to Gig Harbor before but from what I understand, the area is known for having great seafood restaurants. Anthony's lived up to that reputation in many ways. We enjoyed our experience so much that we cannot wait to come back to the area for another well-cooked meal! read more

How can you deny having dinner and sitting by the water and having Mt. Rainier as a backdrop? Food was wonderful. I was expecting a better service than average service for the price point for food. But all in all it was a great evening after a boat ride. I love the clam chowder. Fish and chips were delicious. The breading was not oily and the tenders were light. Now don't expect a large filet as the size were about two pinky worth. The mussels were on point and definitely ask for bread to soak up the broth. If you have a chance to stop by try them out. Excellent food and atmosphere. If the crab cakes are in the menu, definitely try them. Unlike the traditional lump or blue crab cakes, these are lightly beaded Dungeness crab meat. Pricey, but worth it. Parking can be difficult. read more

Saw a lot of reviews and a high rating so we had big expectations. All where not met other than the nice hostess and waiter. Sadly they waiter didn't know the specials as we saw them on the boards when' we walked in and he acted like nothing was there. Partner orders the seafood scampi, half the clams didn't have meat, all the fish , prawns and scallops where hard and old. Tasted overly fishy. ?!? Then they tried to bring us two shrimp to "try" and see if it's better? I ordered the "waygu" steak. NOTHING waygu about it. It was the driest steak I've ever had. Ever. The veggies was 5 strings of asparagus for $40 ??? The bread was cold and very old and the calamari was NOT crispy and very very salty. They comped the meals which was nice of them. I come here on occasions with my mom. I like coming here, we always get the best service to. Our server would check up on us frequently too. The overall setting is good, you get a decent view of the water too. Ok so bare with me, they change the menu alot, so the dish I har ordered has recently disappeared from the menu. Anyways, it was a cajun dish, it consists of shrimp, egg and a croissant. It was very good and I hope they have it on the menu the next time I come in. Anthony's Gig Harbor has been a Christmas tradition for us and our friends for many years. So wonderful to see the gig Harbor yacht club boat parade from the restaurant. Another fantastic meal, single complication with the Ahi was somewhat overcooked. Delicious food and great service. I was originally scared away from Anthony's because of it's Yelp rating. A Gig Harbor local told me it was the best restaurants in Gig Harbor and that we should go...so we did. We started with a half dozen oysters. They were so fresh and delicious we ordered four more. We also shared a cup of the clam chowder. The chowder had incredible depth of flavors and loaded with clams. For dinner my wife had the fish and chips and I had the halibut special. The fish and chip were cooked perfectly. Great seasoning and not too much breading. The halibut was mind blowing. So fresh, perfectly seasoned and lightly grilled. The sides were tasty, but the fish was the star. We ended with the Baileys chocolate mouse. It was very very tasty. And I forgot to mention the view. The view of the harbor is beautiful. Been to this Anothony's a handful of times. Usually reserve it for semi-special occasion. View is amazing. Great, huge windows provide panoramic views of the entire Harbor of Gig. Food is good, but you really get what you pay for, so don't be surprised that a $40 entree isn't as good as an $18 entree. I had a fantastic salmon at my dad's birthday dinner, but came back a couple weeks later and the poké bowl was slightly above average. They advertise fresh caught fish and clams and oysters, and they even had a special fresh menu of a bunch of helpless rhubarb that was slaughtered so we could devour it. This is an easy go-to place to take a parent. The age skews just a hair old, so don't be surprised if the place isn't packed with 30-40 year olds. Overall impressed, and I'd call myself a semi regular for sure. read more

Prepare to pay top dollar for location and view. Visited on a Friday night, mid-April. Not too busy. Cocktails were expensive, but servicable. Oysters adequately shucked. Things fell apart with the "seafood tower" which, for $60, was ultimately three plates of poorly plated food served on a tower - quality was poor, presentation was poor, and delivery was poor - we were embarrassed to have made an investment in food that could have easily been experienced at a national chain restaurant. Anthony's has a reputation of being a "local" chain, but this outlet did not live up to the brand promise. There are better options in Gig Harbor - like staying home and cooking for yourself. We left the restaurant poorer, but rich with the understanding we would not return. read more

Went here around 8pm during the weekend- they will seat you downstairs if you don't have a reservation, which seems like a punishment, because it is musty and very, very outdated. It was one of those situations where everything else was closed and this was the only option left on the Gig Harbor waterfront since we came up by boat- they do have their own dock so you could pull your boat right up, but I would highly recommend against eating here unless you are celebrating your grandma's 80th birthday and this is the place she chose... in that case take advantage of their full bar. I knew it wasn't the best place to eat, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Anyone with taste buds and who doesn't wear dentures should avoid this place at all costs. The food is on par with hospital food and what they serve at a retirement home cafeteria. Their salmon plate was tasteless and mushy, they consider broccoli to be a "seasonal veggie" for a side and the cobb salad was something you could've bought at a Safeway. The only thing decent was the French 75, but I would imagine it's hard to mess up that drink. I honestly have no idea how there are so many Anthony's in the PNW; it seems like a waste of waterfront property to have such terrible restaurants taking up these spaces. read more

Let me start off by saying that I've never made reservations before. And they did not disappoint. My girlfriend just turned 40 and I wanted to celebrate it by treating her to a nice day out. I cannot for the life of me remember our server's name but he was very gracious and welcoming. The first 45 minutes we were there I think we were forgotten about and didn't have our orders even taken, but just being able to enjoy the time together was great enough. I ordered the crab dip as an appetizer, and then she ordered the shrimp fettuccine, I ordered the one with the crab, mussels, clams and salmon with a Caesar salad. Then we ordered the strawberry-rhubarb slump and they brought out a special chocolate surprise for her. Really, it was a very nice time and great food. I loved being seated next to the window, I will definitely be coming back to this place in the future. I appreciate the hard work the staff put in to make it a special day for us. read more

Was there yesterday for the early-bird special and was great, I lived in the Harbor for 30+ years and seen many restaurants come & go but Anthony's is a family owned chain with there own fishing vessel, and there manager for Gig Harbor is Jenny bean a dear sweet lady with a heart of gold. When the Covid hit, my friends & family bought a bunch of gift cards as with all the closings of places we were afraid for this great restaurant, as we go to several Anthony's and know the manager's of Kirkland & Seattle, but Jenny bean wins the prize for manager with First place place year after year and if you know her, her birthday is in June so say HB to her in June as she is a person you want for a friend....Donny ....Gig Harbor....Thanks Jenny.... read more
