This location always has great finds. They have obviously a lot of Christmas finds right now and all but you still have lots of other things for daily use and lots to decorate your Home, for your Pets and much more. I always love to check the clearance section cause you find amazing deals for really good prices. I was looking for a pot holder crochet for the bathroom and scored one for $9.99 it was perfect to add a planter and add in the bathroom for decor. The customer service is great there I had a few questions about several items and they walked me over to where I'd be able to find them. Very helpful and kind I appreciated that. As far as the lines they a few people in line but you didn't have to wait so long they had all the cashiers open so it had a great flow. Over all experience here was great, the shopping area has lots of parking so that's not a problem to find a spot. Can't wait to be back! read more

Zero rating for this store and the deferential, rude and discriminatory interaction with non-white customers. I came into the store to return an on-line purchase. The dress was unworn, with tags, security tag, with receipt and within timeline to receive refund. An older Asian Manager was called by the cashier to review the return. I launched my Tjmaxx account by phone to display the barcode for ease of locating the transaction on their system. She scanned the barcode and located the purchase history. I exited the website and closed my phone. The WiFi is very slow in this location. Then she demanded that I show her a picture of the item from my order history on my phone. NEVER HAS ANY OTHER TJMAXX STORE DEMANDED this for an online return. When the WIFI speed wouldn't relaunch the website she demanded that I tell her the purchase date and method of purchase. I told her that information was available from the scanned barcode. She disputed that which I know is a blatant lie. I have her the information. Then impatiently she said, I will just refund you, and doing me a favor. I have never experienced this disrespectful interaction at any TJMAXX store, and it is disgraceful to have employees who clearly have bias. Also, another female older cashier who appeared to be of middle eastern descent, saw me next in line and intentionally walked away from her register to organize hangers until I was called by the adjacent cashier. [Review #799] 2023-087 TJ Maxx is located in the heart of Peninsula Shopping Center. Although I've heard of them, I don't recall shopping at the stores. They are the flagship chain of TJX Companies; strangely, they operate as sister stores with Marshalls, which I do frequent, & both chains generally stock similar items (men's, women's, & children's apparel, shoes, & accessories; bath & beauty products; jewelry & other accessories; housewares, kitchen & home products) of those found at major department store except theirs is generally discounted. I don't believe the Rolling Hills Estates location is a higher volume store; those store may have a high-end designer department called The Runway. And it's also unexpected to find a discount department store in the affluent hills. During this school year (2023 - 2024), my son's Cantonese class has doubled the students so I've been hanging out with other parents shootin' the breeze, takin' a coffee/tea break, walking (to get some exercise in), & window shopping (sometimes actually buying stuff). The store opens pretty early, at 9:30 AM, for a Saturday morning so we usually have it pretty much to ourselves when we're browsing here. Their inventory is comparable to Marshalls, & I've gotten some great deals. What's impressive about this location is their luxury inventory... some unexpected finds include: Mackage (I knew it was a thing but haven't heard of them & needed to look them up; they're a Canadian prestigious luxury outwear clothing brand), Fendi, TOTEME (Stockholm-based label exploring the appeal of the modern uniform with meticulous craftsmanship, methodic repetition, & distinct design cues). They even carry one of my fav brands: Life is Good; an American apparel & accessories lifestyle brand known for its optimistic t-shirts that often feature Jake, a smiling stick figure. I love their pjs... so comfy & cozy. The store is organized & well-stocked, probably because we're here first thing in the morning. Can't imagine what it would be like mid-day since there's only a skeleton crew in the mornings, I'm sure they'll increase the staff during the busier shopping hours. My friend found a couple pairs of designed shades in the locked display case, & it took awhile to find someone, then another staff member to open the case. While she was mulling over which to purchase, both were great deals, I/she felt rushed into making a decision. And for security purposes (understandably), she couldn't hold onto them & he brought her glasses to the cashier even though the registers are the next row over. The staff is friendly & welcoming on our Saturday mornings, & any purchases are processed quickly. BEWARE: BULLIES ON STAFF. I wish I could rate this branch LESS THAN ZERO stars. Good items, but honestly not even worth it given the bully staff. Sad to say, but if you're not white, the staff WILL profile you (the crazy part is they're not all white either!). I've shopped here sporadically for the past 3 years and each time I foolishly keep thinking maybe it will be better the next time. I've witnessed and experienced the profiling myself. This last experience made me think enough is enough! Recently one of the workers accused a young girl and her mom of stealing items that were clearly purchased at TJ Maxx! They were just trying to return one item and literally had the TJ Maxx bag with them! The worker made a huge fuss and it was honestly so shameful. The worker also had trouble with the scanner and started berating the girl and her mom! Then the manager came in aggressively and said she can find them on the tapes. I was near the front and saw all of this go down... I literally saw them walk in and go directly to the line to return. The manager's behavior told me all I needed to know. Truly uncalled for! What a disgrace to the TJ Maxx brand. Sad to say, but it seems that when mean girls age, they work at PV TJ Maxx. read more

Drove out here because of the great reviews from before but I agree more with the more recent review that gave one star... OMG the employees are so rude and grumpy here! This is midday on a Wednesday when it was NOT busy... I can only imagine how much worse it is when it is busier. All the ladies behind the counter looked like they just ate something very sour and act stuck up like they are so much better than you. I get that this is PV but we are still at a TJ Maxx... Anyway it does not pass the vibe check at all. First off, the selection is not great compared to other locations. Luggage section is smaller. Beauty section is better elsewhere too. Haircare selection is decent but the makeup is terrible. Clothes seem the same as elsewhere; same with home decor. Shoes and toys are not great at all. But jewelry... UGH. Let me tell you about jewelry. Came here because I heard that new Disney x BaubleBar jewelry has been out at other locations earlier this week. I only saw one piece displayed out so I asked if there was more. She told me there was a box she just opened and was in the middle of setting it out. Asked me to wait. So I did while she helped someone else but it took a while so she asked me to come back after shopping. So I did. After checking out all the sections I listed above (lol). She was in the middle of unpacking the box when I said hi again. She said someone else beat me to it and already took a few pieces... okay. So she opens these pieces that are supposedly brand new, gives me like two seconds to look over each one before pressuring me about whether I'm gonna buy it or not. So I was considering actually purchasing each design out there, except four items were the same exact design. Not sure what gave her the impression that I wanted four of each, but of course I said no lol. And the items were NOT brand new (to TJ Maxx like she said) because she showed me a necklace that I had purchased at another TJ Maxx months ago. So maybe what happened is an employee told a customer (who wrote a previous review) that this location has first dibs on items and basically lied. Anyway. Because I'm a frequent TJ Maxx shopper, I know that her behavior today was very strange. She pressured me to pay for all of my items (plus all of the jewelry) right there and then. I told her I wasn't ready to check out yet and wanted to show my kid the necklace to see which one she liked. Her snarky response to this was "well these are new and haven't hit the floor yet so I can't really let you walk around with it." Since I didn't want to pay right then and there, she brought everything to the front. Mind you she grabbed my other items too that were definitely already on the floor. I told her I didn't know this was a thing since I've had the same thing happen at other TJ Maxx stores but of course I didn't want to argue so I let her take it all. And yes, the "new" items all had price tags and everything already. The only thing keeping them from the floor was her taking an hour to display them two feet away. Picked up a few more items for my kid, the dog, and definitely ended up spending more than the service we got called for. At the front they had some trouble locating the items that the lady took. Hence, the sour looks I described at the beginning of this review. Sheesh, the ATTITUDE. Such unnecessary attitude. TL;DR: Go to the TJ Maxx in Redondo instead! They are so much nicer there. Also a lot of their items here are DIRTY. Like even the inside of the packaging of stuff along the checkout line (which customers can't open right there because of the location and the line moving) soo it's probably those mean employees touching them. To all of my bargain shoppers: we all know that not all TJ Maxx and Marshall's stores are created equal. Some are just far more superior than others, and this TJ Maxx is the cream of the crop. I bet you that this location gets first picks of everything. You can tell. I've been chasing Esfolio foot masks and hand masks as well as Dermapeutics Hyaluronic Acid facial mists, and recently, a lot of TJ Maxx and Marshall's locations have been failing me...but not this one. I was in a hurry to get in and out, so I'm coming back here, but just know that this location is LOADED WITH INVENTORY. LOADED. Next time I come back, I won't be in a rush. This is a very nice store and my human and I are often pleasantly surprised with their selection. Found 2 bags of delicious treats. They have a ton of clothing at decent prices. Large parking lot nearby. This outdoor shopping center is so nice. Lots of places to park. Like so many chain-store businesses, TJ Maxx has a commonality throughout all of their stores. They all pretty much sell very similar items. This is also the case with this TJ Maxx. This particular T.J. Maxx has been around for a long - long time. I've been coming here for years. As always, they supply their customer with the items that they are known for: clothing, jewelry, luggage, and household items. This particular location is no better and no worse than the other stores across the LA and OC area. This T.J. Maxx is located in a shopping plaza off of Hawthorne Boulevard. Due to its location, it is easy to get to from throughout the Southbay. This particular store is flanked by a newly redevelop the parking lot. So, parking will never be an issue. Overall, if you're in the area and you need what TJ Maxx has to offer, this store is the place for you to shop. read more

I'm actually surprised that I'm giving a TJ Maxx five stars, but this location deserves it. It reminds me of the one in Vegas. It's fully stocked with some really nice items for men, women, and children. They have purses, gym bags, super nice luggage (which is what I went in for), jewelry and watches, gym clothes, dishes, pots and pans, etc. I truly believe that location is everything for a store. This one carries a really good selection of items. They had a lot of name brand items, as well, like Michael Kors purses, Bebe Luggage, Betsy Johnson, etc. Prices are a bit higher here for some of the items, but when you look at the selection, you understand why. I was prepared to drive to the only one that I knew of, which was in Redondo Beach, but I checked Yelp and found this one, which was 10-15 minutes from my house. There's plenty of parking, but it can get really full in that shopping center, because there are so many stores around, including a grocery store. It's a really nice store, though. The staff was friendly and helpful and it was definitely clean and organized, which is almost unheard of with these kinds of stores. read more

As a person of color I have never felt more uncomfortable while shopping , I came for some retail therapy because I like to spend money. however I was watched around the store like I was going to steal something. There is no need for the employees here to be as rude as they are. It may be in PV but it's still a bargain discount store. One of the male cashiers was so rude to my wife. She tried paying with the tj maxx app and was asked for ID which always happens so she keeps a picture of her ID on her phone incase she forgets her wallet which she did. As soon as she tried showing the picture to the cashier he got an attitude and told her he was gonna need the physical ID. This is the first time at this location that she's been asked for the physical ID. She tried telling the cashier that she pays like this all the time but he continued to be rude and tell her he was gonna need a physical ID. At this point my wife could see the joy this asshole was getting from denying her to pay with the app. He was clearly feeling himself on his power trip. She had her bank card on her phone but decided that she will not be giving them her business if they are gonna be that rude. As TJ Maxx's go this place is the nicest of them. Could be due to it's location and the crowd is not as grungy as some of the others I have walked into and walked out of. This place has name brand purses, clothes, pots and pans, gadgets, bath towels and sheets all at great prices. Also has great seasonal items during holidays like Christmas. We came here looking for a laundry bag, $156 later we did not have a laundry bag but we did find a lot of really awesome stuff. We scored on throw blankets, plates, bowls, cups, travel mugs, some cool kitchen gadgets, pillows, wall decor, and 4 shopping bags of stuff that helps simplify our life ;). The store is very clean and neatly laid out, their selection is awesome. And they even kicked out some rowdy boys that obviously have nowhere better to go & were loitering and being punks in their local TJ Maxx. If we need to go to T.J. I was so excited to come to this TJ Maxx for the first time because the reviews are great. Unfortunately, my experience did not match the others and I ran into angry/annoyed employees. I put a ring on hold with my name to continue shopping and I was finally ready to pay for it so I returned to the jewelry counter because that's where they ring you up for jewelry. And I waited for Alicia to ring me up but the whole time she was chatting it up with her coworker and told me the registers were on the other side when she saw me linger. I felt like she tried to shoo me away. I said "I know" I'm here to buy the ring that was on hold for me and she said okay we'll send it to the register so they can ring you up over there. I enjoy visiting this TJ Maxx on the weekends, perhaps twice a month, after I've had my afternoon coffee nearby. I notice the store replenishes the stock regularly. If you have never been to a TJ Maxx, the store has a little bit of everything, jewelry, purses, shoes, housewares, clothes, toys, etc. I don't buy something every time I visit, but I have been through the checkout line pretty frequently, more to purchase every day kitchen and home items. Updating my review from 2005 about a designer slip......and now we don't even wear them anymore! We didn't wear them in '05 either, so I'm thinking that thing was really a short nightie....whatever..... As for yesterday: T J Maxx, you better mind your Ps & Qs cuz Mama Yelp has smoke comin' out her ears! My fave store on the planet put me through shopping diva hell yesterday! From 1pm to 10 pm, it evolved into a story that (according to my friend) could have been a Seinfeld episode, about a pink bra and shoes with bling. It all began harmlessly, when I was happily scouring the shoe aisles & also trying on bras. Hard to find a bra that fits perfectly, so I tried on about 20 before I finally did. At the checkout, a somewhat overzealous sales associate was attempting to talk me into a T J charge card while he was ringing up my purchases. He obviously was distracted, because when I got home that big plastic sensor thingy was still attached to the shoes I bought. No wonder there were sirens going off when I left the store (he waved me on out cuz he knew I'd paid for everything). And...horrors...at home, the perfect-fitting bra was not in the bag! I hadn't been charged for it, but it was AWOL. Amber alert!!! Where my bra go???!!! Jeeeebus!! I immediately called the store, hoping it would be somewhere near the checkstand, and the operator said, "A what?" BRASSIERE, I said! Pink! She said, I'll connect you to the department. Shit. I had to explain it all over again....how I tried on 20, it wasn't in the bag....then somebody asked, "What size is it?" !!!!!!!!!!!! How many pink bras you got laying around the check out?!! It's size...(I'm not telling)! .....resulting in two employees searching the store for my missing bra. Nothing. : ( I said I'd come back & look for the thing myself, a perfect bra is hard to find. Plus, I needed to have the sensor removed from the shoes. About those shoes: Coach. With sequins. Cheap. They didn't fit, are at least a half size too small. I plan to amputate the tips of my toes, seems like a small price to pay for the glory of wearing shoes that cool. When I returned to the store & entered carrying the shoes with the sensor, sirens went off yet again & all heads turned my way. There has not been such an embarrassing incident since Pretty Woman was humiliated on Rodeo Drive. They removed the damn shoe sensor and I proceeded to hunt for the bra. I combed through all ten thousand bras on the lingerie racks, and btw I hadn't eaten since early morning so was in somewhat of a dizzy stupor wherein all the bras looked pink. I headed for the dressing room racks, on the off-chance some bitch had tried it on after it was returned to stock. And there it was! I grabbed it like a drowning person goes for a life preserver. Then I had a conversation with the dressing room attendant about underwires. Those suckers are naaaaaasty!! I told her my secret solution: just snip the fabric at either end of the wires and extract those damn things! Voila! No more pain, no more plastic gouging into your chest every time you breathe. Attention all ladies!! You owe me for this. I was finally eating dinner at 10pm, admiring my shoes that don't fit & my bra that conforms to the underwire plot to mass-torture women (but not for long, where's my scissors....). I kinda miss my toes *ouch*, but whatever...... Five stars for Peninsula T J Maxx! Easy breezy parking, great designer bargains, helpful employees (except for that one fckwad who needs to pay attention). I think I'll go shopping today, but I'll have breakfast first. read more

Huge selection, even in the homegoods section, nice, clean kept store, even though it is no doubt an older location. Plenty of easy, breezy free parking outside, I'll be back next time I'm in the area! read more

Went in to make some returns from an online order and the employees were so kind and helpful. Walked out with $300 worth of merchandise after making the return...they had a really good selection of home decor. Didn't even have time to check out the clothing but for a non-Homegoods store they had a nice selection of small items for my new home, really happy with my purchases today. Also huge selection of Sand + Fog candles which are great quality and wonderful scents! read more

Higher end things than the other San Fernando Valley locations. + Clean store. The place was spotless to the eye, at least when I was there. It's nice to be able to walk through isles and not trip over items. + Plenty of parking available. + Service is good here. Cashier was friendly and saw plenty of employees walking the floor helping patrons and organizing. Downside: - Its the TJ Maxx disease... I think this store has a better selection of merchandise than other T.J. Maxx stores. But like all discount places, it's kind of a hit-or-miss to find stuff. Can I just say... I LOVE THIS PLACE! This location of TJ Maxx is my go-to store. Located next to It's BobaTime, this TJ-Maxx is very large in the middle of the Peninsula Center. The quantity and quality of clothes here are great! I often can find Levi's, Free People, Adidas, and designer clothing for a portion of the retail price. I have bought many non-clothing items here as well including weights, resistance bands, candles, etc. I would recommend this store for anyone who loves shopping but is on a budget. read more

I love TJ Maxx stores but this one is hands down my favorite. Tucked away in the affluent hills of Palos Verdes you will find this gem located in a quiet shopping center. The store is spacious and well organized carrying everything from good quality underwear (Natori, Spanx) to Le Creuset/Caphalon cookware. They have a variety of discounted designer brands (Theory, Michael Kors, Cole Haan, etc.) and the higher end handbags are a particularly good buy with discounts up to 50% off or more. If you see something good grab it fast because things don't last here too long (those wealthy people living there like bargains!). read more

Same as Ross and Marshalls (same company BTW), TJ Maxx has a lot of really crappy stuff, BUT when you find something good, it's an amazing deal. I don't buy clothes at these places unless I find something that by chance strikes me as "interesting" as I'm walking towards the back of the store to look for various home decor and discount exercise stuff. No clothes yet, but man did I find some amazing deals on coffee mugs for $5 each which I later found at a designer store in South Coast Plaza with a sticker price of $25. Weighted Yoga/Pilates balls at great prices (I don't do Yoga but I do use the balls for balance exercises and the mats for abs). 10lbs - $10 5lbs - $5 Set of 2 1lb balls - $10 (came with some other Yoga shit that I threw away). Yoga Mat - $10 Cooking utensils of various namebrands including Farberware, a personal favourite. $3 to $7. Men's Wallets by Kenneth Cole, Nautica, CK, and Perry Ellis for $15 (love the soft leather of the Kenneth Cole Reaction series). Seriously, don't worry about looking ghetto in Rolling Hills. Shop here first and then lie to your friends later about where you bought your nifty preppy labels and how much you spent. And don't forget the laugh through the nose. I LOVE TJMAXX! Their normal prices are reasonable and their Clearance items are spectacular! It's hard for me to find a really good bargain if i'm looking for it, but the location is so great that I can walk in and browse the clearance section anytime. It's right next to Pavillions (which has redbox), Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Petco, and the Sunday Farmer's Market! Sometimes when things are marked down, clothes can be from $3-$8. Also, a few years ago they upgraded all their registers! The lines used to be really long and hectic. I used to hate when I picked the wrong line with the slow cashier! Now, there is only one line and an electronic voice calls " Next customer at window 2". It also looks a whole lot nicer, and everything is very organized--- not like ROSS. They only have women's shoes-- but they have a really good selection of name brand shoes for a LOT less. read more
