I was looking for a new place to try a good tavern-style crust at, with nicely browned cheese and quality (not cooked and then frozen) toppings. My girlfriend wanted Chicago deep dish though... Antioch was the place on our list to try next whose menu claimed to be able to meet our desires. They sure did! Sauce wasn't too tangy or sweet, the sausage was not pre-cooked frozen crap, and both doughs were great! Another big thing to me, is how good pizza is cold the next day, and BOTH excelled in that category! It's a small place with limited indoor seating (6 - 8 booths) and uncovered outdoor seating that's shared with the rest of the businesses in that little nook of a strip mall. The employees were helpful, and in a great mood which is sobering I always feel is transferred into the final product of any restaurant! We didn't know, going in, that they had been honored at The Best Pizza Awards during a prestigious 2025 pizza industry conference in Milan, Italy! We both understand why now. I've eaten that other pizza shops in the area and Antioch pizza shop was the last place that I tried, I'm from out of town and I really like a good piece of pizza. Not that Ron and Pat was horrible or anything but Antioch pizza shop was super awesome. It even felt so old-school being able to order directly with the restaurant instead of going on Uber Eats or something like that. Anyway, got a 18 inch pizza that comes with a free 12 inch pie... Got so many toppings. It's kinda hard to name them all or remember since he was a pretty hazy night but everything was correct, crispy, and extra delicious. Antioch pizza definitely my favorite pizza joint in the area and I'm not exactly sure which location I went to, but I think it's the original location so thank you. Love this location! Great pizza. The nicest most accommodating people! I didn't feel like pizza but was nearby and ordered 2 Chicago dogs, fries, and onion rings. The chef/owner came out said his dogs were frozen and it would be 10-15 mins to make it right. Fine with me. He offered ice cream or two slices since I had to wait. Very nice. I wish I would've had ice cream. The 2 slices filled me up so I'm saving most of the fries and rings for tomorrow as well as the dogs. Nicest place!! read more

Local favorite for pizza by the slice! I totally understand why. Even though it was in the warmer and wasn't fresh out of the oven, the crust was crunchy along the edges. We have been very pleased with Antioch Pizza since it came to Lindenhurst. We have ordered pizzas for carry out and they have been crisp and delicious. The service is always very friendly. It is hard to keep my husband away from the two slice and a side for $5 deal. He gets the deep dish sausage and says it is awesome. I have gotten the two hot dog special and it is very good. Last week when crazy milkshakes, we decided to try their shakes and malts. They have a bunch of flavors. I got the peanut butter banana and let me tell you, best milkshake in lake county. There was tasteless chunks of what was suppose to be chicken with a super sweet bbq sauce that tasted like pancake syrup poured all over it. I love this restaurant. If I lived next to it, I would never go home. Good thing I live several miles away. The hardest thing about ordering from APOL is deciding what to get. I usually order the terrific double-decker pizzas, and they keep me fed for days. Sure, I suppose I could order a smaller pizza, but, um, why? That said, the stuffed, pan and thin-crust pizzas are equally delicious. I've had them all. I did learn recently, however, that thin-crust is probably the way to go when ordering pizza at lunchtime for meetings at the office. It was nap time for this reviewer (and his department) after downing a great big pan pizza. You know what else is awesome, and a great value? The lunch special where you get two huge pieces of pizza and a drink. And, while I don't do Facebook, I know every day they post the name of the day on their Facebook page. If they pick your name, you get the lunch special for free. Lucky for me, someone told me when my name got picked. The sandwiches and salads are a great bet, too. While my favorite food in the world is and always will be pizza, I enjoy these parts of the menu from time to time. They have onion rings, too. I love onion rings. I would walk uphill (both ways) in a blizzard to get onion rings. Yeah, I adore onion rings, too. I wonder how they would taste on a pizza... Couple more things before I let you go. I really like the aquarium. It's like TV with no reruns, and it's kept really clean. Nice job on the fish tank, boys and girls. Then there's the employees. I came from the restaurant business. I know how tough it is to...motivate...youngsters to smile, hustle, engage with customers and genuinely enjoy what they're doing. These kids do all of that. That's the sort of thing that flows from ownership to every employee. Zzzza' by the slice has FINALLY come to Lindenhurst!! Used to be you had to drive to Wayne's in Grayslake (which was fine, I like his 'za, the thin reminds me of Gigio's) .... but I digress. The place is clean and new, the staff is friendly too. The $5 special probably won't last forever but it is the draw here. Overall the pizza is pretty decent. My complaint... it seems, well, just a little salty to me. However in all fairness I have really cut back on carbs and don't eat a lot of pizza so I haven't been comparing Antioch's to other places. But somehow when I'm needed a quick snack or quick dinner this is my go to place. A nice addition to the neighborhood. read more

This storefront pizza place just opened in Lindenhurst. We ordered a deep-dish sausage and onion and it was OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. I thought the crust was a little tasteless but the cheese was good. It was the end of the night so they asked if we wanted to buy the rest of the hot pizza for $10. We got a large thin crust pizza, half pepperoni and half sausage. It was thin and a little greasy and tasted like what you'd get out of a pizza warmer at the gas station.
