Not sure how this place won an award for best pizza. I've tried this location and the Fox Lake location so that I could provide an honest review. Not sure why soggy crust pizza is so popular up here but apparently it is. The 2 pizza special is a great deal if you like their pizza but overall the pizza was definitely better at the FL location as the crust was not as soggy. Also tried their wings which were overcooked. Ordered a thin crust to go. Pizza was ready in under 30 minutes, hot and fresh upon arrival. The cheese is high quality and the crust was super crunchy and delicious. We built our own half and half which ended up being pretty expensive. Lol. Almost $40 for a medium. I would recommend this pizza to a friend. Staff was friendly and the store was clean. The breakfast pizzas are great! Our family tried the biscuits and gravy, sausage egg n cheese, and the spinach tomato parmesan breakfast pizzas. My favorite was the spinach tomato parmesan, but all of them were really good. We also tried the cannolis, which were just ok. There was something off about the filling- the texture was slightly gluey. Another fyi- it took a good 35 minutes for our pizzas to be ready and we were waiting in their tiny dining room. I called to explain I had to cook the pizza before we could eat it because it was uncooked and raw and the "manager" had no idea what was happening or how to answer any questions?? I have been a frequent consumer/customer of Antioch Pizza. Recently I have become Antioch Pizza customer for their gluton free pizza. Each time I try its been disappointing. While the flavor and taste for their regular pizza is good flavor, the quality of flavor/ingredients for their gluton free pizza is not so good. As an example when eating their gluton free pizza, you must use a pair of scissors. Also make sure they are sharp. Unfortunatley the best gluton free pizza for me is at HOPS however they are located in Holland, Michigan. To the owners of Antioch Pizza, go out spend a little more dough and buy a better pizza crust. The blades on my scissors are getting kind of dull. read more

I have visited here many times throughout the year and have had good experiences each time. There are a ton of options for food on the menu, not just pizza. One of my favorite things about this spot is the breakfast pizza- variety of flavors but biscuits and gravy is my favorite. Additionally, they sell pizza by the slice- 2 and a drink for $6. It took me a long time to come around to Antioch Pizza Shop, but you know what, they're reliable, and for thin crust pizza in the area, they are the best. I love their two slice deal with a drink. They have Cherry Coke on fountain drink (as well as red cream soda) and different daily special slices. Tuesday's special has been my go to with deep dish pepperoni. I enjoy their cannoli's and my husband frequently orders their chicken tenders. Big props to Antioch Pizza for being reliable and the two slice deal is just so convenient. We have come here several times and gotten their thin crust which is very good. This past week we tried their Tuesday special which is their stuffed pizza. The thin crust pizza is my favorite and I remember the larger sizes being pretty great for leftovers, and their pan pizza is surprisingly good too - even though it's not served in as huge of a box don't let that fool you, they can serve a lot of people. As for sides and drinks their fries are usually pretty good even with the time sitting in a paper bag while picking them up for carry out. The shakes are great too - chocolate, strawberry, and chocolate malt are the ones I've tried and they've all been good. Pizza pocket was frozen inside AFTER WE SAID COOK THOUROUGHLY AND THE FRIES felt like they were dumped outta the bag not even tossed in fryer. The thin crust pizza looks like pies from a dozen different places but looks do not tell the story. This pizza has an amazing taste. I think it is the pizza sauce because it is borderline addicting. Our "go to" pizza is an 18" sausage and cheese. The crust is thing but not hard or chewy. There is the perfect amount of cheese. Since moving to Illinois I have missed New York "eastern" style pizza. I am just not a fan of Chicago style which is closer to lasagna than pizza in my opinion. Antioch Pizza Shop's thin crust is nothing like a "New York" style, it is different but satisfying. They have daily specials, a slice lunch special and they make stuffed Chicago style if that is your thing. They make sandwiches and other items but I haven't tried them because of the pizza being so good. Highly recommend this place... our dogs know the smell and get duper excited because they love the crust. read more

My family was not expecting to find such a great pizza spot in the chain of lakes area during our short vacation. You have got to try the Double Decker Pizza. I highly recommend getting peperoni to compliment the cheese overload, cheat day meal. Great ingredients; the cheese, sauce and dough were all extremely tasty. That's pretty much all I have to say. Can't beat this deal 2 slices of pizza and pop for $6 all day long! Even have a deal with salad and a pizza along with pop if you want to eat lighter for $7 Stopped at this place for the first time for lunch due to errands in town and was pleased at how tasty their pizzas actually are. This joints Pizza sauce is universal type that does not offend people but again there will always be someone saying it needs a spice here and there or less. To me it was fresh mellow taste to the sauce. I had a thin crust cheese pizza and a slice of pan sausage pizza just fresh out of the oven. Lucky timing. The crust. Love it. My taste might be different than yours but I loved the crust itself. Let's talk about the sausage. We all have different taste/likes on sausage. I thought it was a nice flavor to it not so strong on spice and fresh pork was used. I can tell. I think I am going to have to try other pizza joints to be fair before I can declare this joint a winner anytime I am up here.
