The double decker pizza was absolutely amazing! We're from the southwestern suburbs of Chicago and were up here staying in a nearby hotel, and honestly I want to come up here again just for this pizza. Besides how great the double decker was, the thin crust was really good and crunchy, and the fried green beans were fantastic. We also got the fried Mac and cheese, which was ok, but would skip in the future. read more

Great neighborhood pub! We met up with some friends at Kaiser's for some grub & football watching on a Thursday night. We didn't want to sit in the lively and pretty packed bar simply because we wanted to catch up so we opted for the dining room. Kaisers did a nice job putting TVs around where everyone could see while dining. The servers were all very friendly. I will acknowledge that maybe more training could be done to improve their skills and efficiency but they were so nice and trying hard, so, I'm reluctant to complain. The prices on the food seemed a little high but I can only assume it's bonafide to support their costs. That being said- the food was really good and you could tell they put some love into it. On Thursdays they have pot roast specials, and the pot roast dinner was great! ($12!) Husband had steak sandwich which he enjoyed. Friends had small pizzas- they looked great and the guys seemed to enjoy them. Drinks were reasonably priced and they had a fair amount of specials. Beers around $4-$5 / cocktails around $8. I had the "autumn mule" with Jameson, OJ, etc and it was really enjoyable. Parking was plentiful and the location was easy to access. Overall we really enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely come again! If you're in the area and poking for a good locally owned restaurant & pub- give Kaiser's a try! Enjoy! read more

I saw this place had a good fish fry so we wanted to try. Horrible, the fish was over fried and taste less. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp and told the bartender/ server I was avoiding fry food and the shrimp was deep fried on the salad. I complained which I hate to do but I've worked in the industry for 25 years. Emil's has a way better fish fry & clam chowder. I won't return even though I know their know for their pizza. read more

Kaiser's is your friendly neighborhood pub. It's a small place when you walk in to the left is a dining room area and to your right is the bar. Went with a few friends and we were seated right away. They weren't very busy but it seemed like it took awhile for our waitress to come and take our order. We ordered their wings as an appetizer. Half bbq half Buffalo. They were your average wings. The pizzas we got half and half speciality ones. Including their taco, bbq chicken, Buffalo chicken. The bbq chicken was my favorite out of them. But as far as pizza places go they serve a good pizza just on the expensive side of things. read more

No matter the toppings, the pizza has a perfect sauce/crust/topping ratio. We like to have it pie-cut rather than squares and have never had an issue ordering it that way. Although I love a thin sausage, mushroom, green pepper and onion pizza I stopped getting them due to all the veggies making it soggy. Since I never had one here I decided to go for it. SMGO crispy. Gotta tell you it was great, and worthy of five stars. No soggy pizza here. It was perfectly cooked. I think the reason they get it right here is the veggies are sliced thin eliminating a lot of the moisture and allowing the oven to cook out some of the water leaving the whole pizza cooked evenly. I'm really looking forward to having another one when I'm in the area. read more

We keep giving this place a chance but I'm always disappointed. I'm not a fan of their pizza so I keep trying other stuff but I have to stop. This time I got the chicken strip appetizer. For $10 you only get 3 incredibly thin strips, over-breaded with barely any meat and fatty. I ate one and threw the rest out. Bummed. My dad said the ribs were okay, but the fries were cold, over-seasoned, and soggy. I know a lot of people love their food so maybe we're just picky, I don't know. read more

I've been going to Kaiser's since I was in high school, back in the mid-80's. We used to get a group of friends together every tues or thurs night (it's been awhile, so I forget offhand which night it was) for the all you can eat pizza night. We'd all smoke a few trees ;) and go there and eat about a hundred pizzas. Good times. I've only ever really had the pizza there, and though taste in pizza is often very subjective, the pizza at Kaiser's is excellent. IMHO only beaten (slightly) but the infamous Quonset in Waukegan. My mom on the other hand, goes back and forth on whether she prefers Quonset or Kaisers, so that's how close they are. lol read more

Went Kaiser's for lunch the other day. Had been quite a while since my last visit. My dining partner suggested we go to the Gurnee location as it's easier to get to than the Kenosha location. Pizza was decent, not quite as good as I remember. Toppings were very sparse. However, their prices have really gone up. One large three topping pizza, one medium three topping pizza and two draft beers, $63 dollar tab. Unfortunately it will be a long time before I return. read more

Went and ordered pick up this past weekend. Usually love Kaisers but this time around it seemed a bit different. The sausage pizza was good. The BLT pizza felt a bit salty. I order 12 BBQ wings and they were "good" not great but they were also $24 which was more than what the menu said. I know wings prices have gone up but these were not $2 a piece wings. I had very high expectations when we visited Kaiser's on Friday 4/21. Many of our friends had told us that this was their favorite pizza--one friend even goes as far as ordering an extra pie to take home with him after visiting, so that he can eat it later--so I was very excited to taste this famous pizza. And I was utterly disappointed--almost devastated. I like to think I know pizza--I worked at one of the best pizza kitchens in Indianapolis through college, and genuinely love pizzas of all types and styles--well, good pizzas anyway. When the two pies that we ordered arrived at our table (the veggie and the white/both thin crust) they smelled pleasant and tasty. But one bite (everyone knows the rule) told me that my nose had lied. Was I delusional? How could so many people have such high praise for this paper-thin, salt-less, tasteless crust? (It is like an soggy, unsalty saltine) How could this bland tomato sauce be worth the price that I paid for it? (like unseasoned, uncooked tomato sauce from a can) The only part that was good was the cheese--which is sourced from Wisconsin, so yeah...its going to be good. But the toppings were even sub-par--which is hard to do. I even thought that maybe I had had an off day, so I took the left overs home to see if they tasted better heated up at home. They did not. It was worse and I had to throw the rest out. Which really pained me, because, like I said--I love pizza. I am very disappointed and honestly do not get how so many people love this pie. I have had everything from Casey's gas station pizza, to Naples style Margarita pizza at high end places, and everything in between, and this was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had--so much so that I felt compelled to let other people know. All that being said, the service was amazing, quick, and friendly. The Caesar salad I had before was big and good and so was the baked potato--if not a little over priced for a baked potato. Pizza was not well made and I ended up throwing more than half of it out. The cook didn't put enough sauce on it so the pizza was bone dry, except for the overly greasy top from the cheese. My entire family had one or two pieces and then said "I'm done." I have been to this establishment in the past and it was very good but they've let the quality slip big-time or got cheap on the ingredients. Either way, I won't return. read more
