(Looks like someone else commented about the sink a month ago... still broken) The signs on the window are all handwritten and the decor is very basic but the floors and tables are nice and the place is very clean! They do have a high chair available to use. I wish they had a fountain drink machine. You have to buy cans. The prices are decent for what you get. There is only one table that has more than one seat. There are four two seater tables which you can probably push together and seating by the bar. The guy who took our order says this place has been open for about six months (Feb 2023?) I ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich. It was pretty good, I did not care for the bread... I bet it would taste better if the bread was toasted. I would order something else next time. My husband ordered the lemon pepper wings... he says they are the best wings he has ever had (and he eats a lot of wings) he just wishes they had blue cheese dipping sauce as an option... he says he is not a fan of ranch but this ranch was still very good. If we are in the area again we may stop in and dine here again!

No menu on the walls, just a couple of paper menus. I had a Rocket Burger combo which is a cheeseburger and fries. I was underwhelmed. The burger was a little too peppery for my taste, but the bun was nice and the fries were fine. Once you've in the restaurant there's no art or advertising on the walls so you could be anywhere. The two people working seemed nice. I didn't enjoy it enough to want to return.

The restaurant is so much bigger and livelier and were so excited to see all of their success. Definitely come early to be able to try their brisket and Tony Mac! You wont regret anything you try but those are defnitely our favorites. Oh and the ribs, if you're looking for the incredible smokey juicy flavor look no further. Any of their bbq sauces are great and pair well, but we highly recommend giving their original a go because of the perfect balance of sweet, savory, with a bit of a kick.

"Old School" customer service, Hospitality and appreciation for our customers is key and loyalty goes both ways friends. I was very interested to try the food here after trying a couple items that were served at a friend's party. I asked to say Hi to the owner as a entrepreneur myself. They said they would be out shortly at my request, being my first time and spending well over $300 to try some of their dishes I was extremely insulted to see that the owner never had the courtesy to say Hello as I waited. In my world, "old school" customer service is success because without customers you have nothing. I also believe that you should always remember where you came from. The food was very pricey for the Area and not worth the disrespect I felt. After this experience I'll stay with Hecky's in Evanston where we are recognized, greeted by name and given a positive everything when I walk in by the owners Daughter, Gigi...RIP Senior. Hecky's is located North Shore with more than fair prices, above par food and traditional style barbecue. Big Ed's is in Waukegan and we paid double plus for the food and a very poor customer service experience ‍ along with overpriced barbecue and sides. I got lots of sauce for not enough barbecue. If I could have cancelled I would have but it was the first time and the last time. I asked one last time "What happened to the owner who was supposedly was going to say Hello?" They said he left through the side door because he was busy. His picture is on a large sign outside and this man was at Aldi when I stopped for apples on the way back home to Arlington Heights. Go to Hecky's in Evanston, Smoque in Chicago, even Joe's Barbecue in Hillside. Good Luck Big Ed!!!

There were a few issues with our order. We accidentally received two orders of spinach dip as an appetizer, the chicken wings arrived cold and had to be remade, and my husband's chicken sandwich was forgotten and didn't come out until the rest of us had nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, our server handled everything professionally, kept us updated, and removed several items from our bill to make things right. Aside from the cold wings, the food was very good. While the meal wasn't perfect, the excellent customer service made a big difference, and we appreciated how the staff resolved the issues.

Even during slow times, service was horrendous. Bar is understocked. Could only make one mojito, didn't have the ingredients for a second. Children's portions are minuscule for the price. Was served very undercooked chicken. Thankfully I cut my chicken sandwiches in half before eating, and even in the dim lighting saw that it was not cooked through. Wasn't offered a different option... I called after the fact because I was told there was no manager to speak with and that someone would call me the next day. After about an hour on hold I got an empathetic manager who was able to give us some credits on our stay... but you couldn't pay me to eat there again.
