This is my second review of this place. Last time I gave it three stars. It was very floppy soggy pizza. This time I give it one star. The lady that waited on us was very nice, but it's all about the pizza. It was still floppy and soggy, however, it was lukewarm at best. If you're selling slices, you can at least throw it in the oven for a few seconds to warm it up. It was flavorless almost had a weird taste to the crust. Tried the gyros salads for the first time last week. They were very good. Went back this week and paid for extra meat. 5.00 extra for each salad. That puts the salad at 17+ each. I get home and open the salads and the meat is the same as last week. I called was told the portions recently changed. In a week???? Our order was close to 90.00 and that's what I get-the portions changed in a week??? How about saying something when I order. We always try to eat local at our small businesses, it's important. Very delicious food ! The gyros is off the spit . They have delicious pizza . It's counter order . It's casual eat in or outside weather permitting . Restrooms for the customers . It is in a strip mall across from 6 Flags . They will carry it outside for you. I brought everything back inside to clean up. The soup is homemade yummy! The Italian beefs are big ! The sausage pizza was good! Slices are bigger than some other places! They also serve a line of Mexican American food, but I don't know how true and authentic that food is. A small fountain supplemented by a tall cooler of bottled and canned beverages, which is great! read more

Yeah Nah!!! Chicken Caesar salad was wack. They didn't put bacon on my Chicken bacon ranch Quesadillas. And the pizza was disappointing. Had to drench it in Garlic, Parmesan, pepper flakes and even Caesar dressing. Very dissatisfied with choosing this for my dinner meal today. I had a special experience at mama k recently. While waiting for my pizza, I was approached by a man who asked me if I could buy him a slice of pizza because he was hungry. I obliged and took him inside. When we got to the counter, I ordered the slice, and then he asked for fries too. The nice lady behind the counter told me not to worry about it and gave him the fries free of charge. What a great sense of community from this local establishment. I sat down with this man for a bit and found him to be very nice and personable. Every business in the area could learn a lesson from mama k pizza. And their pizza was good too lol! read more

Visiting from out of state. Stayed a few days in Gurnee to go to Six Flags. My family, including husband and 2 kids, went here for dinner one night. The lady who took our order could not have been any nicer. It appeared they were short staffed, but she handled it with ease. She took our order, with a smile, then went back to help to her coworker. This is one of my favorite restaurants to order from when I am visiting my parents. Last week, my parents and I decided to order from here. I had the gyro sandwich and a Greek salad. Both were so good! The sandwich had lots of roasted lamb pieces, tomatoes, onions, and homemade Tzatziki sauce in a toasted pita. The Greek salad had lettuce, green peppers, onions, and Greek dressing. My mom had the Souvlaky on a pita and Greek salad. Their Souvlaky is so good. It has roasted pork, homemade Tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce on a pita. This is usually what I order. My dad had the chicken parmeasan on a pita with onion rings and vegetable soup. The chicken parmeasan is a cool take on an Italian classic. read more

Came here for a quick lunch and it was hopping when I arrived. If you know me then you know I'm a huge pizza fan. Right when you come in, you can smell the pizzas cooking. The menu is pretty big here with plenty of ice cream choices too. There was only one worker that we saw that was non-stop working hard and still pleasant to everyone even though he was busy. Customer service is high on this places priorities. I ordered a couple of ready made slices and they were cut huge! I may have overindulged with 2 pieces that were close to half a pie! This place knows how to cook a crust that was perfectly sturdy and not gooey. The taste was pretty good too. I'll definitely be back for lunch here for both the service and the pizza. read more

It was my first time trying out their food and man it was really good enjoyed it. Food service and ate it outside it felt good.

Ordered a pizza slice and was not impressed. Crust was dry and tasted like a saltine cracker. Very skimpy on toppings and was overloaded with pizza sauce. I'd rather pick up a frozen slice from 7-11 and microwave it. I don't recommend this place for their pizza slices. I did not try other items on the menu. read more

So when this place was actually Mama K's it was amazing. But I walked in today and it's under new ownership and I had a bad feeling when I ordered. I tried the steak sandwich, ordered it medium rare, and it honestly was the worst steak I've ever had. It was cooked well done, was tasteless, and as tough as shoe leather. Cute little restaurant with a very expansive menu. Met my husband here when he got out of work because he swears they have the best gyro. I ordered the Italian beef sandwich and it was good! It's my first one that wasn't homemade so I can't compare it to the local restaurant known for hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches! ;) my husband's gyro, though, was amazing!
