Decided to come here for lunch with the family. Our oldest wanted to order out and eat in the car. So glad my husband decided to dine in. Looking around brought back memories. It's a bit small inside but they offer outdoor seating. It was rainy and bit windy so we stayed inside. My little ones wasn't crazy about the high top table and chairs but soon forgot when the food was here. They make everything to order and it didn't take long. My wife and my girlfriend came here for lunch one fine Tuesday afternoon. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day. Yeah, I know, whether the day was beautiful or not is probably not under the purview if the restaurant, but...maybe it is. Anyway, we ordered a variety of tacos, chips, guac, salsa and elote. The food came out quite quickly. The quantities were good and the service was excellent. The tacos were quite flavorful and 2-3 are a great portion size. The chips were crisp and flavorful. The salsa was also flavorful, but could have been hotter for me. The elote was very good, but heavy and very strong on the sour cream. The guac was great, but needed salt. Overall, the food was very good, the service great and the atmosphere very good. I'll be back - this is a solid example of good tacos here in chi-town. read more

I moved to Bridgeport a little while ago and I can't believe I've only been to Antique Taco once so far. This place is so lovely and is definitely one of my new favorite neighborhood spots to grab a bite. I love that it's a women and minority-owned business (as their cute little stickers proclaim on the door and by the ordering counter), but regardless, the food is delicious. I got the pork carnitas taco and their fried chicken al pastor taco (it was a rotating special), and both were so good. The carnitas gets a lot of hype, and I feel like it's well-deserved, and the fried chicken had just the right amount of seasoning and crisp. This is the kind of meal that makes you smile and your day better. Two tacos were enough for dinner, and I got their horchata was also delicious and wonderful. My friend got a crispy fish taco and their agua jamaica (hibiscus-flavored drink), and she was a fan of both. I've tried agua jamaica so many times at this point that I know that I don't like it, but I love giving chances I guess (not really - only when it comes to food and drink), and I was so surprised that I loved their agua jamaica. They definitely sweetened it, but it was so good and I'd actually get it for myself the next time, even though horchata is a fave of mine. read more

I had the brisket burrito. The ingredients seemed fresh but Unfortunately to much juice from brisket and other ingredients just made everything else taste bland. Preperation was poor. The horchata was maybe the best i ever had. I did ask for easy ice as well ( did not read notes i guess). Customer service was ok. Atmosphere had a good vibe. Ive been here before i will probably stick to the tacos even being in my opinion .50-.75 cents to much per taco. This is my neighborhood spot as well. Always plenty of seating inside and out. Antique Taco is a fun place to stop for food in Bridgeport. You come into a smallish space to order at a counter with a full bar and then can eat on the exterior or covered patio spaces. I imagine it can be pretty cold in winter, but I was there on a beautiful, warm spring day. I read about this place in American Tacos by Jose R. Ralat. It was worth the stop for my first lunch after landing at Midway. This is not your classic Mexican joint. This is upscale riffs on the taco with excellent margaritas. We went with the rosemary margaritas, which had negligble rosemary flavor and just tasted like the classic. I went with the pork carnitas and shrimp tacos. This is not your classic carnitas taco - it is a very different flavor because of the tamarind. But it was incredible. The slightly sweet almost tropical pulled pork with avocado, shrimp and bacon in a fresh corn tortilla was excellent. However, my favorite was the garlic shrimp. Unfortunately, I missed out on the cauliflower (there was one piece and I should have never shared a bite), but the fried kale and avocado salsa were amazing. The chips and guacamole were delicious and the creamed elote was on the spicy side. Be sure to order chips with the elote - it is the perfect dip. The chips were fresh and crunchy, and the guacamole super fresh. I would definitely come again - shrimp tacos and margaritas, please! read more

I was in Chicago for a concert and had sometime to kill before my train. At the recommendation of my foodie SIL, we took a trip to Wicker Park for tacos and margaritas at Antique Taco. It is a counter service restaurant with a lot of character and friendly, efficient staff. The worker told me to try the potato and poblano taco and the Sweet Chicken taco. Both were outstanding. I also ordered a rosemary margarita, which was decent, but the blood orange margarita that my friend ordered was better-- tart and not too sweet. If you order the chips and house-made salsa, you get free refills on chips. It's also a great place to refill your water bottle, by the way. The restaurant sits on a fairly busy street with minimal parking, but we took a Lyft, so it was so problem for us. Across the street are two must-see shops as well-- Reckless Records and Volumes Book-cafe. I will definitely return to this area on my next trip. read more

I've been meaning to stop by here for quite sometime and when we finally had the chance, why not try this place out. We came here around 7pm on Saturday. Parking - the lot is not big so you have to park on the street. Keep in mind, if the sox is playing, you can't park unless you have a residential permit. Place - the place is not big. They do have a patio seating but once it's cold outside, it might be a bit harder to get a table inside. The inside is pretty much high tables (kinda like a bar setting). They do have a regular long table. So if you have kids, make sure you dont come in during rush hours. Food - I would say "meh". I had the salad, my kids had cheese quesadillas, my husband had the three tacos (2 shrimp tacos and one steak). You can actually mix and match the tacos. Husband said the tacos were okay-ish. Too many kale on my salad. I pretty much didn't eat it. The quesadillas were good. The ones that was super good were actually guacamole and queso dip. We even ordered extra to bring it home. Ambience - it was loud inside. Again, since its bar setting kinda place. Service - they have a really good service. They were all nice. Overall, it was an okay experience. read more

I very much enjoyed our tacos, elote, and especially the horchata milkshake, BUT the higher prices for everything is hard to compete with the Mexican joints over in Pilsen. I'd definitely repeat the milkshake, but maybe pass on the elote (due to portion size/price). They have a dog friendly, open seating patio. I noticed some games scattered about. Bridgeport has no shortage of authentic taco places, so while I appreciate Antique being here I'd rather see something else come into town. I went to an awesome work event at antique taco and had a wonderful time. They have a large open patio and a lot of space to spread out. The ambience is great with a really diverse clientele. Most importantly, the food was delicious! We had three different types of tacos, including chicken, pork and a vegan one. Unlike any event I've ever been to, the vegan taco went first because it was extremely tasty! The others were also really great and finished soon after. There were a lot of options for drinks and the staff was very friendly and responsive. Their parking lot is a bit petite, but it is nice that they even offer a lot at all in such a popular neighborhood of Chicago. There's pretty plentiful street parking nearby, though. I would recommend this place for group hang out with friends and colleagues and even a casual date night. read more

I love the laid back atmosphere at Antique Taco. It is super family and kid friendly which is big for me. We are always dining with kids in tow. They serve a variety of yummy tacos, corn cup and adult beverages and beers as well. My favorite part of Antique Taco in Bridgeport is that they have a few games out for the kids. They have a Giant Connect Four and the corn bags game.The tables are communal style dining. They have some outdoor wooden tables and because they are long sometimes another family will come join your table. Just FYI. It is very relaxed. I know beef brisket can be fatty but I would not order brisket tacos again because of the excess fat. Its either take out or there are a few tables inside and a decent patio outside. Like many places today they push for gratuities which I understand and support when you get service but it is self service here so why the question "how much do you want to add for a gratuity?". Came here for takeout and was still blown away by the flavors AND the price! Prices are STEEP, but if you are craving creative tacos in the area, then this place is for you! Ordered the Chicken, Shrimp, and Elotes. The chicken def has a great manageable kick and amazing flavors. All of the tacos seem to be on flour tortillas, which is fine, the flavors were supported well with this tortilla. The Shrimp Taco was also subtle with an amazing elote style cauliflower topping. The Elotes were more creamy than expected and for $4, there honestly was not a lot of corn at all. The tacos I can justify for being close to $5, like there is meat and a lot of flavors going on. The Elotes being in a little cup and mostly liquid was def not worth $4! There are local Eloteros who do a better job for less money, so def def yourself there. read more

Verdict: Guac: so-so Crispy Cod: Thumbs up Shrimp Taco: so- so I wasnt a fan of the sauce that was on this taco so maybe next time I will ask for it without it. Pretty solid taco joint in Bridgeport. Went here a few days ago when my parents were in for a visit and really enjoyed it. I had the chicken burrito, which was fantastic. My parents each had two brisket tacos and they really liked their choice as well. They have a small bar and some seats inside and plenty of picnic tables outside for the warmer weather, so plenty of space to sit. The prices are a little steep and that'll from ordering from here in the future but still a solid place to stop by and pick up some tacos. read more
