This is more of a 3.5 than a 4 but I'm rounding up because I would actually come back for certain situations. We came here tonight around 9pm and there was hardly a wait. We ordered two super crunch tacos (he didn't like it. I liked the octopus. The meat inside was okay. Reminded me of my own taco nights. Weird surf and turf that doesn't work together.), fish tacos (wasn't a fan of the red onions but he liked the contrast of acidity), pork carnitas tacos (loaded with meat, best flavor, even better when you use the sour cream that comes with the cheese curds), and cheese curds (great sized portion for $8, never been a fan of chili but I actually liked this one). Service was meh. The guy who brought our cheese curds gave us one bowl and fork and left with the extra bowl and fork that he had in his hands. So two people equals one bowl? Then we got our first order of tacos and the girl was going to take away our number stand without asking if we had more food coming (we did). I understand they haven't been open for a while and these are little kinks so I'm willing to look over them. Since I live in the area, I would probably come back for the pork tacos or maybe the ribeye since I liked it when I was at the other location. Such a better "late night" spot. They have a nice, spacious patio with long tables and benches with umbrellas. If you order a margarita, you get to keep their turquoise disposable cup that says "Today is a good day". My friend and I ordered the fish and al pastor tacos. The fish melts in your mouth but it is smaller. It comes with the red cabbage slaw. They give you a lot of al pastor meat in your taco! I wish there was more pineapple in it too. We had the elote dip with the tortilla chips. The elote dip is creamy and more on the heavy side, but it's very good. I had their horchata and banana milkshake and it was very sweet and dense. I drank most of it because I have a huge sweet tooth. It was more like a dessert than a milkshake! The service is excellent here and they are very friendly. Love the decor inside and outside! They have old trailers and trucks outside of their restaurant. What a cool place to eat on a nice night! My friend introduced me to this hidden gem on the south side. The inside is tiny but the outside patio is spacious enough to fit a crowd. We even came on a night when there was live music! The tacos were great. I sampled the el pastor which was fresh and delicious. Lots of tasty pineapple. We also got chips and queso. The chips were good. The queso wasn't my favorite. It had more of a Buffalo flavor, which isn't really my jam. My friend also got a horchata milkshake that looked amazing. She said she really enjoyed it. It's around $4 a taco, which is about right for the big portions. The chips and queso were around $7, which I'd probably skip next time. Or maybe try a salsa instead. The flavors are like a firework in your mouth, and that salsa is just the perfect heat. I have tried every single item on their menu and I mostly enjoy when there's a chefs special. I was too kind in my first review, hoping that they would improve. Yet somehow this place has gotten even slower and even more expensive. Shockingly so. I previously reported that i waited 15 minutes for my food when the place was empty. Well, I went back again when they were empty and ordered only a single item. It still took 15 minutes. To her credit, every 3 minutes or so, the cashier yelled to the 10 people standing around in the kitchen to ask whether anybody was taking care of my order. Sadly, the answer was no. Taking 15 minutes to deliver one item in an empty store is not something that should ever happen anywhere. Ever. The price is almost besides the point, since the outrageously inept service provides ample reason to never return. A common complaint in other reviews is that it costs more than $4 for a single meh taco. But also consider that a small guac and a small salsa will run you $10 . . . and then they have the gall to charge extra for the chips. That's a higher price than Frontera Grill. I mean, good for the owners that they are getting theirs, I guess, but I have no idea why anybody would ever come here. The rosemary margarita was excellent! I don't remember the servers name but we were the only people in the backyard yet he still set out a heat lamp for us. This is a great little neighborhood restaurant and I highly recommend it! One caveat: the prices are NOT cheap. $12 for 3 tacos is what most of the dinner combos go for. This is a convenient location for me on Morgan and 35th, adjacent to my new storage unit. A big plus is the outdoor eating space which they've always had. I was here last summer for a local farmer's market but had not eaten here before. I was in the mood for vegan but Antique Taco has a couple of vegetarian options. I chose their taco salad which consisted of kale, strawberries, red bell pepper, dried cranberries, red onion, tortilla strips, spicy peanuts, avocado and pomegranate vinaigrette. Drinks are ordered from a separate window outside. For now, this place is plastic only (a pain in the ass). Thankfully there are some tables with umbrellas over them for today was a rainy afternoon. There are 6 double picnic tables on the Morgan side of the small building and 3 more in the front. The salad was good (and healthy!); next time I'll try the veggie tacos (poblanos & sweet potato). There's also a quesadilla if all else fails. The drink menu has nice options; from mixed drinks to beer, wine and hard seltzer. Of course ther are non-alcoholic choices too. I did like the fact that there was background music to complete the casual, kitschy vibe (even if the tunes were what I call 'dinosauer rock' - top 40 radio from the late 60's to mid 70's). There's an old Airstream trailer with an awning and an old International Scout 'towing' the trailer; reminiscent of road trips and camping from the same era as the music . The patrons were a nice mix of families and friends enjoying a late Saturday social occasion. The Queso dip is luscious and addictive. The sweet and spicy chicken tacos come stuffed with Amish chicken well marinated and smothered in yogurt, cucumbers, jalapeno bits, pickled onion, and finished with fresh mint leaves, The flavor combo is amazing. The grilled steak taco was just as meaty and smothered in salsa with fresh cilantro, arugula, onion, and more queso. You get 2 tacos per order and they're very filling. I have depression and going here made me even more depressed than ever before. First of fucking all how they gonna give me $6 guac and chips and the rations look like bird food. They gave me so little guacamole and refused to give me a refill! Then, the workers saw me spill my limemade all over myself and just laughed and didn't offer me any compensation. When I tried for reach for a napkin, another customer dragged the whole carton of napkins to his side of the table. What is this place trying to be? I can go to Pilsen less than a mile away and get tacos LITERALLY half as expensive and twice as quick. $4 tacos? What are you smokin?! It's tasty. But it is not quite Mexican. I had Their pork "carnitas" taco with a sweet, smoky barbecue sauce flavor (strange but decent) and a nice, thick and crispy piece of bacon on it. Their red salsa is so good I want to drink it (and yes I did lick the little cup clean!). The taco wasn't bad, but it wasn't life changing; I just can't justify $4 tacos that you can ONLY buy in pairs. What if I just want one taco? What if I want 3? It might be good as an occasional treat but not a regular thing. My bf and I ended up splitting 2 tacos to taste them and then going for an actual meal to an actual Mexican taqueria after. And what the hell? They have "al Pastor rib tips" (wtf?) But no al Pastor tacos? Mind boggling. It's hard for me to accurately rate a taqueria without tasting an al Pastor taco! This overpriced hipster vibe might cut it on the north side, but this place is NOT going to survive in this neighborhood. Just ask J Smile 51 - The nearby, overpriced hipster bakery that was great but didn't last. If you want to be successful in this hood, you have to offer delicious food at a reasonable price in an accessible location. Or be a drug front. I sometimes try out restaurants based off of Yelp recommendations and sometimes just see for myself regardless of Yelp. Today was the latter. Although the menu on the wall is big, the words are created using letters similar to a fast food restaurant's mini billboard sign placed near the road. It's not exactly easy on the eyes, especially with my poor eyesight. I always order at least one steak taco at Mexican restaurants but decided to also try pork tacos and chips with salsa. I saw the chips were $1.50, but what I didn't see was that the salsa was $3.00! My eyes widened in disbelief, and I almost choked on my chip when I noticed it on my receipt halfway through the meal. The tacos come in twos, and two steak tacos are $9.50 while two pork tacos are $8.00. Pretty pricey and reminds me of Big Star. Only difference is the tacos here are much bigger. Having been to multiple amazing taco places for a much cheaper price, I just didn't think these tacos justified the price. The tacos should be adjusted to Bridgeport prices and not Wicker Park. The tacos tasted good but didn't blow me away. I had a salty aftertaste, and I mean literally...and a little figuratively! I didn't expect the tacos to come with cheese and avocados, which are two things I can't really eat. They don't use traditional Iceberg-like lettuce, which is nice. Instead, they use spinach and arugula. The service was good though. The staff was kind enough to remake my tacos twice after mentioning I can't have cheese or avocados. I got the aqua fresca which never disappoints. All of their drinks are good. You can never go wrong with any option. First and last time. Just a disappointing experience. I ordered the queso and chips, the fried chicken burrito, tres leches and a horchata to be delivered. Horchata never came. I think it was divine intervention, since the rest of the food was pretty bad. No salt on the chips. Why do restaurants do this? Salt your damn chips! Oh god. The queso. It had this grainy texture and absolutely no flavor. I would have taken some velveeta and rotel over what I ended up with. The fried chicken burrito had potential except the chicken itself just tasted like it had been cooked earlier in the day and had been sitting out a while. I ate half and then just didn't have any desire to waste the calories on the other half. The tres leches cake wasn't bad but so overpriced for what was a VERY basic white cake with cool whip frosting soaked in milk. Not terrible but I've had way better. This is almost always my go-to place for when I'm dreamin' of something a lil more basic and classy than just plain tacos yaknow. I ALWAYS get the shrimp tacos, but occasionally get a side to share like chips & guac, elote or crab flautas. The tacos have a perfect blend of the sauce and the juiciness of the shrimp. But lately, the tacos have gotten saltier and saltier and the combination of the sauce, kale and shrimp has become a little awkward. The sides, on the other hand, are soooo good and literally never disappoints my tummy. Overall, given Antique Taco's past track record, I have faith in their food and that's honestly all you need.. these days. The people there are super super nice and are very accommodating. A little on the expensive side though, but give it a chance! For drinks, I ALWAYS get the lavender paloma. It's the perfect amount of strength for if you're starving before your meal, you just keep eating and drinking at the same time so that by the end of the meal, you'll be significantly tipsy (but only if you're 110 pounds haha sorry). (I would say the Wicker Park is a TAD better, but the vibe is a lil more hipster (obvi) and touristy there!) read more

Decided to head to Bridgeport since it was 60 degrees and sunny in the middle of Chicago February. I was thrilled to see that they had a sizeable outdoor patio with huge picnic tables. Another major plus of this place is the staff. Incredibly friendly and helpful. As for the food, we started with the guacamole which was standard and nothing to write home about. The Elotes Corn was quite delicious though, and I highly recommend getting with chips. The Chilaquiles were unfortunately a let down, which is sad as this is usually one of my favorite dishes at restaurants. It was more like nachos then Chilaquiles. Fish tacos were fish tacos. And we ended with a Horchata milkshake which was divine. Overall, if its a nice day, I'd recommend checking this place out for lunch on the weekend. read more

You place your order, they give you a buzzer....when it buzzes you pick up your food at the side window. We didn't wait too long for ours. About 10 min and we went on a Saturday night. Pork tacos come with a solid slice of avocado and a few sprigs of greens. That was nice and so good. Fish taco comes with a big cut of fried fish. You pay for what you get and we will be back.
