Pros- food is delicious, pizza, pasta, salads...their ranch is our fav and the bread basket, yum!! Our waiter Zack was great, accommodating, kind, and on top of things. Parking is easy and the restaurant appears clean. One negative comment- so we made a reservation for 15, and we had one extra child, bringing us to 16. The host (older lady with shoulder length reddish brown hair), made it exceptionally clear she was annoyed and continued to quote their policy of "banquet menu" once our party got to 16. I understand, it was an accident, and tbh didn't require us to be moved, just an extra chair. It put a sour taste in my mouth, as I was guest of honor visiting from out of town; you made us feel unwelcome the moment we walked in. As a host, you shouldn't be the one representing the restaurant. If you're upset, go home. Mind you, this is a Tuesday evening at dinner time (the restaurant wasn't busy and there was NO wait). Kudos to the wait staff and chefs, all our food came out at once, no send backs- I know for large parties it can get crazy, you all did amazing. I hope management can use this as a teaching opportunity to the host, as I'll be sure NOT to return to this location the next time I'm in town due to this experience at your establishment. read more

Let me begin with the fact I am a big fan of the Dearborn Heights location. Never a bad meal in over thirty years of patronage. The Canton location looks beautiful inside and out. I decided to give it a try. I regret that. They were well-staffed and it was an hour and a half before closing, That seemed enough time to not endure the rush to close activities so prevalent in restaurants, Nope. By 8:15PM, I felt patrons were being conveyed we're kinda in the way, not the actual purpose of their work as well as the lion's share of their paycheck. I was stunned at how much my prefered dish, Chicken Antonio--which was never cheap, has increased in price over the years but worse was the execution. The salad was good and the bread as always, excellent. The main course? Not so much. I know I should have sent it back, but I didn't. I really hate doing that for fear of angering the guy cooking my food. I've seen Waiting... Soon as I took a bite, I knew something was off. It seemed oil-soaked. Now I know the breaded chicken filet is sautéed but this was greasy. It was greasy to the point by the time I ate less than a third my stomach was queasy. My teenaged server asked if my meal was okay. I told him "not really" which seemed to stun him and leave him without a response. He came back a few minutes later to ask if he could do anything. What could he do? Well, maybe call a manager or send out the cook--but I wasn't going to ask. He seemed new and nervous so I wasn't about to be a Karen. Maybe these servers should be instructed to send a manager when they're told something is disappointing? Come to think of it; I often have experiences a manager stopping by to ask if my meal was satisfactory. In my previous Antonio's experiences, that was kinda common--and part of the charm. I really felt they cared. I ended up--for the first time ever, taking home 75% of my meal hoping reheating in my oven will help. We'll see tomorrow when my stomach is up to it. The closing routine after 8:30 was certainly distracting and not at all what one would expect from a fine restaurant charging a premium such as here. The smell of Windex used to clean the doors was just overwhelming and I felt like we remaining patrons were getting the bum's rush. In closing, I was also disappointed they don't offer a Veteran's discount which is more and more a standard thing today. Even Cracker Barrel has started. I hope they change that policy. I'm sure I'll continue to go to the Dearborn Heights location, but this experience gives me pause at the Canton location. read more

Though we live nearby, we haven't frequented Antonio's for a few reasons. Our latest experience this past Sunday is a good example of why. We were not greeted upon walking in, and the host had his back to us while talking on the phone for 3-5 minutes. Nobody acknowledged us or told us it'd be just a minute. After being seated, it took 8-10 minutes before a waiter stopped by to tell us he'd be with us soon. Service was exceedingly slow and often non-existent from that point forward. The waiter was very polite and friendly when he did come to the table though. The chicken parmigiana was ok, but overpriced for the portion, and the breading lacked flavor and texture. I was surprised there was a $3 upcharge for a Caesar salad in place of their tossed salad. Because the food is so salty, the roof of my husband's mouth is still raw two days later. The dining room is brightly lit regardless of the time of day, and there is plenty of seating, with both tables and booths available. The private parking lot is fuller than one would expect from a restaurant that has three stars on Yelp. We'll continue driving to Luigi's in Livonia for chicken parmigiana since we've never hit a home run for service or food at Antonio's. read more

Incredibly disappointed in this place. We will honestly never be back. Came here with a large party (we had reservations) and I will say that our server did incredible (he ran the table solo and did a great job accommodating us). However, the food-- AWFUL. And I don't just speak for myself, but for several others at our table who agreed. I had the chicken parm, which is very pricey on the menu as is, and asked for a Caesar salad instead of a tossed one. Had no idea there was a $3 up charge for it but whatever. That aside, the dinner itself was terrible. Small portion, totally lacked in flavor, chicken was SUPER tough and dried out, and it was smothered with flavorless cheese and sauce. I got pasta on the side and requested to sub the regular spaghetti noodles out with angel hair noodles instead and was told "no we won't do that." Which I found odd, because I was already paying over $30 for a really crappy, small meal as is. I ordered chicken fingers and fries for my toddler son and was asked what kind of sauce he wanted on the side for it so I said ranch. When the bill came, there was a $2.50 charge for said ranch. Felt like I was being swindled at every turn for up charges and not being told in advance. If you're going to charge that much or pride yourself in the Italian culture, then the food should deliver and speak for itself as well. It was downright gross and we won't be back. read more

I came here just to pick up a slice of tiramisu. It's an Italian dessert so what better place to get it from than an Italian restaurant. Every person we came into contact with was so friendly and welcoming. As we waited for the tiramisu slice, I noticed an area with different flavors of gelato. The man behind the counter was so gentle and friendly and gave us a sample to try. It was delicious! So I looked over at the cup sizes and prices, boy are they pricey !!!!!! I ended up getting tiramisu and vanilla gelato alongside the slice of tiramisu. This was a gift for someone, and they couldn't get enough of it saying the flavor for both were phenomenal! I've been to Antonio's but at another location over a decade ago. It was an unpleasant experience so I never returned. When a friend suggested this location, I was tempted to see if the pasta and bread were as good as I remembered. They were. It was a Monday evening so I was surprised by the full parking lot and the numerous groups waiting for tables. Neither of the hostesses could explain why it was so busy either. Maybe everyone had a craving for the complimentary bread served here. That was one of my reasons for being here. While waiting for my friend, I studied the specials featured on the digital menu. Despite the number of guests, we were fortunate to score a booth. I could not decide between the Fettuccine Alfredo -- I don't see this on menus anymore -- and the seafood linguini. Instead of choosing, the server said the kitchen could do the seafood linguini in an Alfredo sauce. I likely broke a dietary rule there but still went with that. I'm so glad that I did. In addition, I had Caesar's salad with real anchovies. I don't recall exactly what my friend ordered as a main but I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts she got as a side. Service was lovely. We had a large party and to be honest, not one person finished their meal, not because they were full, but because it was not good. This is not authentic Italian food. I would highly recommend checking other places out in the area. Service was great, but even the cannolis I had to trash and I am a huge fan of a cannoli. read more

Antonio's has just the food you need on a frigid Michigan evening. Creamy pasta, warm, fluffy bread and bracing cocktails that somehow make that biting wind less intense. I recently had a joint birthday and graduation celebration at this location, and the service was phenomenal! The staff we were in contact with; Scott, Nolan, Kim, Joe, and Maria; were very accommodating and had a great sense of humor, and the food came out quickly and with quality. My party of 30 was placed in a banquet room, and we were given extra time before and after our reserved hours to prepare and close out. Unfortunately left underwhelmed after dining here. Mainly in part to the seating policy and the food. We came here on a Monday later in the afternoon following a funeral with a larger sized party. Their seating policy is that they won't seat you until every member of the party has arrived. I can understand this policy during a rush or otherwise, but at the time of day we were here it was pretty dead and were awaiting only 3 additional members to arrive, but couldn't be seated. We did have great service (only reason why I marked the review a bit higher). Our server and runners were great! Onto the food - overall everything seemed lacking in flavor and seasoning. Among the soups, the chicken pastina was bland, but the minestrone was the winner and was the most flavorful dish on the table. I personally had the baci and everything from the contents of the ravioli to the sauce lacked flavor. My mom had carbona which was better in flavor, but came out very dry and lacked sauce. I feel like potential is here with the food with more butter, cream, and seasoning. The pasta is homemade here which is a positive. Came here after a burial with all of our family. So the day started off rather grim. Our group consisted of 11 people, all who were on the way to the restaurant immediately after the burial. I arrived first and asked for the table. Was told it would be a bit of a wait. No problem, several more of us showed up. I was then told by someone else that we could not be seated until our whole party arrived. There are now enough of us near the door where we are in the way. Just seemed pretty unaccomodating. Fast forward to service. We were seated, given water, had our drink order taken. Drinks served, several wrong (including alcohol) drinks. The server came back again and asked about appetizers and entrees, we finally asked about bread... which had never come. He said "oh yeah, its on the way" mind you we had been here for close to 30 minutes already. We put in our apps regardless. The alfredo dip was amazing, truly the best part of the meal. The minestrone which the waiter said was their most served dish was alright. The antipasta salad was alright. I ordered the Angel Hair Carbonara alla Bocelli. When it made it to me, it was so dry that it was hard to swallow. It needed extra sauce desperately. Not sure that I would be back unless my group was considerably smaller and extra sauce was ordered.... pretty poor experience. read more

I ate there with my family there for my mother's birthday everything seemed to be okay until I got my food. We waited a good amount of time for our food because it was a party of 7 but when I took a few bites of my lasagna I noticed the inside was barely room temperature. I ate less than half when I noticed the food had one little hot spot until the next bite to where the unappetizing dish came back to play. I informed my waiter that I didn't want the food because it wasn't even warm. He said he will either get me a new one to go or get it removed from my bill, he came back later with the checks not saying anything about the bill. I looked in the booklet at the bill and they charged me $23 dollars for a cold greasy dish that I didn't even consume. He said he will get the manager (who never came) then for the waiter to come back to say they adjusted the bill. They charged me $14 for a small plate of salad with I wedge of tomato and 3 slices of cucumber. I've tried this place time and again over the years, trying something new each time hoping that it proves me wrong but it's simply not good. Is it bad? Our first time here. Highly recommended by good friends. We were seated immediately on the patio under a beautiful lion fountain. Our server, Monir, was just perfect. His recommendations were delicious, he explained how all the pasta and everything is made in house. He even protected the chef when I begged to go in the kitchen and learn to make the Limone sauce for the calamari. That dish will not leave my mind! Gary had the chicken pastina soup and veal Marsala. I can see why my friends ask for the soup when they are sad or not feeling well. It's like a hug from your family, especially if you dip your breadsticks in it first. I had the Caesar salad. Fresh, wonderful dressing with anchovies. I had the lamb chops, spaghetti on the side and both meals came with green beans stewed in a tomato sauce. I should have bought a quart of that to go. Ordered a takeout pizza for my family last night and it was a pretty smooth process and the pizza was GREAT. They don't have online ordering so I had to call in the order (no biggie) and I was told our pizza would be ready for pick up 20 minutes later. They still have their carryout door + parking which was good because the place was HOPPIN'. I think every table inside there was full. Antonio's added a credit card charge to our bill without giving us an option. They did not give a cash price, and it was sneakily added before the tax and total on our bill. It only said 'CC charge' with an amount. It was very easy to miss and we were never asked how we were going to pay. I paid cash and I asked the waiter to take the five dollar charge off of our bill. He agreed, but there was no apology. No nothing. They just try to sneak it in hoping people won't question it or notice it. At the end of the bill, they gave a suggested tip chart which was also based based on the fact that we were paying a false credit card charge. Shame on them. Most places give you the option and a cash and credit card total. You lost a long standing customer. read more

I politely asked the server on wed night if pizza counted for the buy two entrées and get 1/2 off wed wine deal. The majority of their entrées cost $22-$24. I offered to buy a $26 pizza as one of the entrees (we also bought a second $22 entree for the two of us.) The manager said nope! I have been ordering pizza from this place regularly for four years. Whenever anyone asks me where to find good Italian food I point them towards Antonio's. Family, friends, and I have been dining at Antonio's for years and never leave disappointed or hungry. The only downside is their popularity as you may be waiting an hour to be seated during prime time. However, as you wait you can watch homemade pasta be made right by the front door. We love their complimentary bread, homemade pizza, and noodles! Between all of us, we've probably had just about everything on the menu and it's all fantastic! The ambiance makes you feel as though you stepped into an old relatives home (in the best way possible). I save 5/5 stars for places that have succeeded my expectations and Antonio's has done just that time and time again. read more

This was my first experience at Antonio's and I will definitely be visiting again! The food was great and brought out in a timely manner, and the staff was great. I was eating by myself for the evening and had the chance to sit at the bar and have Fred as my server. He had awesome customer service and kept me great company while dining alone. This restaurant is an Italian restaurant and very family friendly. It has great decor inside to give a nice Italian ambiance. The food is priced average, not too expensive an aligns around the same price as most restaurants in the area. The bread they serve with their meals was amazing. Very classic Italian spot with a lovely outdoors setting area! Interior is great and you can see pasta being hand made in front of you.
