Came here for funeral luncheon during the middle of the week in the private banquet room. Lunch had a pre-set menu, and included salad, soup, and OMG AMAZING HOT bread. Slathered that thing with buh-tah. SO GOOD. This is old school Italian and authentic, apparently. I am not sure if I was just hungry and chowed down the food so fast or was it just delicious. I think both. OK, now the ranch dressing is allegedly famous with the locals. It is housemade. Good too. Lovely service. Loo was clean and stocked. Lot parking. We have rediscovered Roses Restaurant. After a long hiatus away from this restaurant we decided we needed something new and a variety. Roses had just the thing for Lent, Perch dinner. Isn't it amazing how expensive a pretty simple fish dinner can cost these days. Most places it seems are about $15 for a 2 piece Cod dinner including a side or 2. Roses Perch gives you 5 pieces of fish and choice of sides, we opt for mixed vegetables instead of a starch selection. The perch is tasty, well cooked and the vegetables are fresh, we get their standard Strechetella soup and you get a baquette sized loaf of warm bread. Excellent food, quick service and friendly servers and the Owner Richie is very welcoming and friendly. We highly recommend anything on their menu. Dine local!! read more

Decided to try a new restaurant while my sister was in town and we were pretty much blown away from this restaurant. It was one of those "slow burn" experiences where at the beginning, it was kinda meh but the longer you are there, it gets better. The ambiance was quite simple, white cloth over the tables; very family style classic Italian restaurant. Clean and versatile enough for small tables and large parties. My sister and I had on regular clothes and didn't feel out of place. We started with the cheesy garlic bread, delicious. You can tell it is made from scratch. i grabbed a sangria which was fruity and refreshing. We also both got two different pastas, I got the black pepper fettuccine and she got a special which was a tuna steak pasta. Both portions were huge and you can upgrade to a Caesar salad for $2. What we didn't know that each entree came with a FULL SIZE loaf of bread! I felt like it was an incredible portion for the price. Around $26. You can also upgrade any pasta to family style for an additional $3 if you really want to save some money. I didn't even finish my meal except for a few bites and still had pretty much two full meals to take home. We finished up with the mud pie which was like a cookies and cream pie with hot fudge, nuts and whipped cream. Very delicious and sweet...also huge and shareable. During the recent pandemic and unfortunate lockdown in the state of Michigan, there were many classic and family run restaurants that went under. Some of these renown establishments had been in business for well over a century, but couldn't make it in the end. Thankfully, Rose's implemented a drive-through window operation, which really helped them to weather the storm. I received a phone call from long-time friend Jeremy, who wanted to meet up for dinner. We decided to meet at Rose's, since we both haven't had any Italian food in a very long time and we were both glad we did. I had been craving freshly cooked pasta for a while, and this was a great opportunity to satisfy it. To start any meal at an Italian restaurant you need freshly baked bread, and a cup of soup. The bread is so delicious, you have to be careful not to eat too much of it before you're main entrée is served. I decided to go with Straccitella soup, and it really woke my taste buds up and they were begging for more. If you have never tried it before, give your palate a treat. I decided to go with "Fettuccini Alfredo with Shrimp." This has been one my favorite entrées since I was child, and I have to admit that I really love the fettuccini that Rose's serves, as it's truly homemade. Conversely, a few other Italian themed places I have visited around Metro Detroit, say they order their pasta already pre-manufactured and it's delivered frozen, which IMHO reduces the quality and taste. Thankfully, the interior hasn't changed since the pandemic, and many people were having a fun time at the bar. With that being said, our server Kate did a magnificent, first-rate job attending to our needs and those around us. I wish more restaurants could find experienced waitstaff as good as she was. So if you want to enjoy some delicious Italian food that is way above what you receive at places like Olive Garden, and other similar Italian based eateries in Metro Detroit, then visit Rose's in Canton, you'll love it. read more

Great restaurant for parties! We come here annual for a holiday party. The private space plus set menu works well. The set menu comes with bread, soup, and entree. Water and ice tea are included as well. There are multiple private rooms too! Set menu food options include chicken Marsala, lasagna, grilled chicken salad, and an Angel hair pasta. We ordered the chicken Marsala, which came with veggies and rice. Food was okay, but for a party setting it was decent. The lasagna looked amazing. That will be my choice next year. Service was great! Keep in mind no one wants to work anymore since Covid. Be kind and don't stress the staff out because you have to wait! read more

Absolutely love Rose's. Best fettuccini alfredo I've ever had. I'm constantly trying to recreate it but nothing comes close. It's always hard to choose between soup and salad because the salad is always so fresh with great ranch but the stracciatella is soo good. Im always so full after eating here but will always make room for the delicious cannolis. If there is one type of food I have a hard time finding high quality options for, it's Italian. Generally when I want spaghetti or lasagna either my wife or I will make something at home. I did a quick Google search and found that Rose's is an Italian restaurant (and it was only 3 minutes away from us). I generally don't get my hopes up and expect the worst from these places because they often cut corners and deliver bland food at unreasonable prices. When I went to get my pick up order I noticed immediately they had a drive thru, which was quite odd to me. The person who cashed me out told me it was put in during Covid to accommodate social distancing protocols, which is really clever and convenient. I took my food home and right away noticed the size of their bread. Each entree came with a foot long loaf that I absolutely enjoyed eating by itself. I would however dip it in my spinach soup which was okay, but found too salty. Between the spaghetti and chicken parmesan we shared, we absolutely enjoyed every bite and found the tomato sauce to be quite robust surprisingly. My only major complaint is they put too much cheese on our food, but it was easy to remove the excess thankfully. For as close as it is and our dinner being to our satisfaction, I will recommend Rose's for Italian American fare. It's not the best, but it does what it sets out to do well enough. read more

I have eaten here three times over the last 20+ years I have lived here. My son used to work for them years ago when he was in high school. The food is nothing special to write home about. The food is kind of bland and a little pricey for what you are getting. Every time I have walked into this restaurant it has had an "old folks/nursing home smell". There are a lot of folks that live in Canton that swear by this place. But I really didn't find their food that great! I just went here in the past 8 months or so with a big group of women. They gave us a private room. I think there were around 20-25 of us and the waitresses we had were kind of in a way short with you when you asked questions about the choice of meals. They have the room for large parties but not a lot of parking and I don't think the staff can handle large groups with ease and patience. I would rather go to Leo's Coney Island down the street than there again. For the money your spending the food should be much better than that! I really want to like this place a lot. It's close to my house. My husband loves Italian food. The portions are huge. It's reasonably priced, but darn... it's just not consistent. I've had a few pizzas they were both undercooked (regular crust and thin crust). Sometimes the dressing on the Caesar salad is weak. Sometimes it's too strong. There have been multiple times the pasta has been mushy. My mom does rave about their antipasto salad. I've had a few of their appetizers (bar food), which are good. They have a great French onion soup! I love meeting up with friends at the bar. It's like cheers with all the "regulars" and a really good time! Drinks are stiff and prices are reasonable. There are A LOT of Italian food options in Canton... I can't call this my favorite, but I do appreciate what they do for the community. read more

I've eaten food from Rose's Restaurant 30 or so times now, and only once have I ordered anything but the fettuccine Alfredo. It's not like I'm sort of Alfredo nut, to be honest I barely even like the dish at other places. But there's SOMEthing about Rose's Alfredo sauce, something I can't put my finger on, that makes it taste so amazing that I can't even bring myself to order anything else. I know their other stuff is great. The people I go there with let me taste theirs. But Rose's Alfredo sauce is my crack until I find the strength to break its spell. The bread that comes with the meal is also the best, screw that Olive Garden crap. Another unsung hero I've noticed is the soup. The friggin soup is ALWAYS good. They seem to have different ones everyday, take your pick. Recently in the midst of all this COVID craziness, they've installed a drive-thru window for pickups. REALLY good ranch. And you can buy it by the pint!! The food is good, but not fantastic. Also overpriced for what you get. I would honestly give 3.5 stars, but figured I'd round up due to the ranch. I did LOVE the salmon with dill sauce. Definitely recommend that one! The shrimp scampi left a bit to be desired, and the veggies were bland (would've been nice if they'd been cooked in a little garlic or something). We tried both soups, and both were actually very good. I paid about $2 extra for the Rose's bread and dipping oil, and that was a pretty big disappointment. The dipping oil is literally just olive oil and crap ton of shredded parmesan cheese. If there were any herbs or spices, I didn't see or taste them. We love Roses. Affordable quality Italian. Do get the chicken marsala. Linguini and clams, spaghetti and meatballs. The only thing bad on the menu is the calamari appetizer. Do NOT get it. Well this is a good place if you are looking for cafeteria-quality food. It was decent but there is no way the words "let's go to Roses" will pass my lips. Why you ask? Oh let me tell you. We got zucchini sticks for appetizer and it was nice and crispy but the zuke skin was like trying to bite through seal skin.. not that I have but I bet it's like that. I had chicken Parmesan. Well cooked chicken and covered with a ton of cheese. Side of spaghetti was "ok". Mixed veggies of green beans and carrots kinda freaked me out from the oily glisten to them. Not sure how that happened as they were boiled long...very long. Server was great, bread good...chicken strips had a strange texture, oddly mushy and flaccid, zero crispiness, served with watery ranch dressing. Other chicken...zero flavor! My family has been going here for years. Normally I get the Chicken Parmesan, but was in the mood for pizza last night so I called in an order. I was a little confused when the guy I spoke to over the phone said - you'll be doing good if you can eat two pieces. Then I picked it up (They added a drive through window, due to the pandemic) and when I got home I realized it was a round deep dish (8 pieces). And he was right, I was stuffed after not quite 2 pieces. Amazingly good, one of the best pizzas I've ever had. We visited this restaurant for a surprise birthday party. It was a nice restaurant. The kids liked it because you could draw a right on the paper table covering, which was nice to keep them busy. Since we were with a large group we had a special menu with several items we could select from. Everything my family had was delicious. The soup was unusual, not liked by everyone, I know that's a specialty of theirs and that's what they're known for. But for our group I would guess roughly 50% of the people liked it. The wait staff were very nice; the owner/manager very accommodating. We had a nice time. The only issue that we actually had was they brought out breadsticks and it wasn't enough for the people at our table, they told us it would bring more and never came back with that. But they were diligent on getting us refills and making sure our food was okay. I would recommend this restaurant and plan to return at some point in the future. read more
