Meh. Was hoping my $20+ pizza would be as good as the comparably high priced pie from my favorite pizzeria on Long Island but alas, it just was not. Had pepperoni & mushroom with onion on half. Mushrooms were small, onions were pretty much raw. Was a called in pick-up & take out so was surprised there wasn't a set-up to facilitate that. Had to scrounge small paper napkins out of a dispenser, no offer of plasticware or even beverages. Right next door to a pretty nice Hilton property with lots of families staying & only one real restaurant on property. Great opportunity being missed by just being average. read more

We live on Long Island and worked in NYC for decades, so definitely pizza snobs. Until today I was a reqular eating at this place 3 to 4 times a month. While the food is good especially their gyros. However, the customer service is extremely poor. Being that I am a regular and with my restaurant and customer service background I would never treat a customer the way I was treated tonight. Me and my wife always come in to order their gyros along with the occasional pizza to take home. I always order something to drink regardless of what I order. Tonight they were a little busy and they were out of ice which would be acceptable if the server or kitchen staff would tell the customer first before they order something to drink rather than wait till the bringing the customer their drinks. The server on duty failed to tell me that there was ice before ordering my drinks. I wasn't told there was no ice till she brought the drinks to my table. If I was the server and I forgot to mention that when the customer placed the drink order I would not make my customer pay for it. To make matters worse I asked if I could get some ice the moment their was even the littlest amount of ice. When I saw the server bringing drinks to customers who came in well after me with ice my wife asked the server if we could get ice and we were told that she ran out of ice once again and she was very rude in how she said it. Due to the poor customer service I asked to have my order to go when I originally ordered it to dine in like I normally always do. Not to mention drinking warm ice tea without the ice is pretty horrible as it is and why would I want to stay their just to drink warm ice tea? My wifes warm Dr. Pepper was no better as Dr. Pepper that is warm and has no ice is pretty disgusting as it is. I was willing to stay and eat in had I been given even the smallest amount of ice like I originally asked. I ordered a gyro which if you have ever had a gyro you know that they get soggy pretty quick if the are not eaten right away which is why I always choose to dine in. This time after being treated so poorly I decided to leave knowing that the chances of me making it home without having a soggy mess was slim to none. Sure enough the bread, lettuce and meat were so soggy that for me it was an entire waste of money. My wife ate some of the meat but for the most part it went into the trash and we went back out and ordered a pizza from a local pizza joint even though Antonios serves pizza too as its the main part of their business. The sad part is I am a resident of St. Augustine and I came in a lot until tonight as they are losing my business forever. I know that won't make a huge dent to their business due to all the traffic they get from tourists. However, over the long term I am the one that has friends and family that comes into town to visit often and I am the one they turn to first when they want me to recommend a good place to eat based on what they want to eat at that time. Not to mention they know me and my wife are foodies and will not recommend a place that we would not ho ourselves. Up until tonight I was planning on taking family that will be visiting me next week to Antonios however I now will be taking them someplace else. Whats even worse is this whole thing could have been avoided if I was told about not having ice before placing my drink order as I might have gone somewhere else to return on a night they weren't near as busy. Or I would have just ran across the street to get a cup of ice for myself. The best scenario for all of the customers that were dining in would have been to send one if the staff members across the street to buy a bag of ice rather than serve everyone warm drinks. I can tell you that if I owned a restaurant and I ran low of ice I would have been sending someone across the street to get some. The gas station is literally less than the length of a whole football field away from the restaurant which means someone could have ran and got a bag of ice in 5 minutes or less. This was poor service and even though Antonios has the best gyro in town for the price I will not be back as I would rather pay more for a less superior gyro or pizza than be treated the way me and my wife were treated tonight which should never happen to anyone. I did call and request that the owner call me when he comes in but I have yet to hear anything from this issue. read more

I should've listened to the red flags in the comments and scrolled on by but since this place was close to where we're staying and it's pouring rain, we decided to take a chance. Wish we wouldn't have. I called ahead to order and specifically asked if it was thin crust ... well, it's not. We ordered a red sauce pizza, a white sauce pizza, and Cajun shrimp fettuccini. I'm being nice when I say that the red sauce pie tastes one step above frozen. The white pizza is bland - the only seasoning was overwhelming salt from the sausage I added. It's hard to believe that my Italians forget how to use seasonings! The crust was burnt. The Cajun pasta was the biggest disappointment - literally just a TON of salty Cajun seasoning added to what tasted like frozen, thawed fettuccini Alfredo. The pasta was wayyyyyyy over cooked. The shrimp was rubbery. Simply inedible!! Think Swanson TV dinners. The "garlic bread" was an over baked hoagie roll with butter and garlic seasoning. We got a large pizza which was decently good, garlic bread with cheese which was ok at best, jalapeño poppers that tasted like they came from the frozen section at dollar general, and cheesecake that was partially frozen. Visited this mom and pop pizza place to order a pizza to go during lunch hour and I made the mistake of not calling ahead. It was packed as this seemed like a spot where a lot of local people who work nearby eat lunch at. It took me roughly 30 minutes to get my pizza, but that's my fault. I ordered a medium cheese pizza and after seeing everyone order the lunch special and how big the slices were, I was looking forward to digging into this pizza. I got up to my hotel room and the pizza slices looked nothing like the lunch slices. They were smaller, which is typical, but they were thicker and I was expecting it to be thinner. The pizza was good, although it could have used more sauce in my opinion. I was starving, so any pizza would have made me happy and as I like to mention in most three star reviews: it got the job done. The pizza and the menu in general were fairly priced and the portions were fair. The lunch special that they offer for $6 has good value to it especially with the beach being a few hundred yards away. I recommend calling in your to go order as well as taking your food to go as there are only 5-6 tables in this very small storefront that splits a location with a Rita's Italian Ice. read more

This is one of our favorite pizza places on the island if not all of St. Augustine. The Deluxe pizza is amazing. We substitute the green peppers for jalapeños. If you like a crispy crust ask for it to be well done. You won't be disappointed. The manicotti is one of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. It's enough for two people to share. I would not go back to this place but it was very conveniently located by the Embassy Suites (which is were we were staying) and we were able to walk there and bring it back.
