We visited this location on our spring break vacation and the waiter attending us. Her name was Montana. she was great with the service and helped us on the questions we had about the food. The food was delicious, we ordered a large supreme pizza, order of wings, meatballs, and 2 deserts to take out for hotel. Overall, I had a great experience with my family and this restaurant looks to be a family owned business and I will recommend them and will come again. This is not New York style pizza. Pizzas is supposed to be a balanced experience not a greasy, sloppy, cheesy mess. The bottom is completely soaked with grease. All the cheese and topping fall off when you pick up a slice. Sauce tasted good and service was nice. We were in town and I wanted pizza so we stopped here, we were a little confused at first because it looks like they are sharing a building sort of with the gas station. But just go in and find the dining room and you're good. The staff was super kind and attentive. We got garlic knots to start and they were super good. My boyfriend loved the Mariana that comes with it. I also had a ceaser salad and I was slightly disappointed because there was roasted red peppers in it which it didn't say in the menu and I wasn't a big fan of them but the rest of the salad was good. My boyfriend got the Margherita Pizza and he liked it, he also got a meatball which he enjoyed as well. I got a pepperoni pizza with jalepenos and banana peppers and it was SO good. Trying to support what was once my favorite pizza restaurant. We ordered a 20" meat lovers and a 16" cheese pizza. Also ordered 6 garlic knots. Once again our garlic knots were so burnt we threw them away. Hardly any garlic on them plus they were cold. I ordered takeout for the party we had to watch the World Cup finals. Yes my wife should have checked it but we leave a 20% tip. The pizza was good but last time we got burnt pizza. My wife said the place was empty. So happy I found this place. I'm from jersey. Live in California and really miss good pizza. This is the best slice I have had since the jersey shore. I don't like them if they're not made by a New Yorker or in Italy. Well, I love this one turns out the owners in Italian from New York. Have wanted to try this place for years , just always see it on the way out after eating. Nice quaint clean place, with an extensive reasonably priced menu. Great service from a very positive happy young lady, even late at night after her probably long day. Stopped for only a couple of slices and was not at all disappointed with two New York slices of the Meateater and an ice tea. About $17 with tip. Plenty of meat, good mozzarella (not that cheap corporate stuff). Good mix of meat toppings and a good hand tossed crust with no droop and a very minimal about of oil drip(considering the amount of meat). Crust had a good char and crisp not at all soggy. Divine pizza no matter your choice. Meatballs are super tender and juicy. The Greek salad is delish due to the homemade dressing with feta cheese. We're staying in St. Augustine for a few days and decided to get some pizza. After a Google search, Carmelo's came up as the best pizza place in St. Augustine, so we placed an order on Uber eats for pick up. On the app (which might not be the pizzeria's fault but they should make sure the information is accurate), it looks like you're buying a whole pie of pizza. We ordered the stuffed supreme pizza (square slice in the attached photos). It was not a whole pizza and it was definitely not stuffed with anything. It was literally a square slice of a Chicago deep dish pizza topped with marinara sauce and cheese; no stuffing to be found (again, look at the picture where we bit into it and it's just bread). When my husband picked up the pizza and realized that the exorbitant amount of money that we paid for the stuffed supreme pizza was just for a square, he decided to get additional slices of regular cheese pizza. When he asked about the slices to the woman in the front, she had a condescending attitude. The extra slices were fairly priced for the size. However, upon tasting them, they were dry and flavorless. There was no sauce in them and the cheese was barely palatable. Good thing that my husband had the foresight to order chicken wings (not pictured) and calamari in addition to the pizza. Those two things were actually pretty decent. Overall, I don't understand how this is one of the "best pizza" places in town. You're better off getting pizza at a 7-Eleven. Not only would the pizza taste better, you would get better service there as well. The only two things that were worth getting at this place were the chicken wings and the calamari. read more

Carmelo's is one of the last non corporate holdouts in Saint Augustine, still delivering honest value and great pizza. With two dining areas, you can relax more "restaurant style" with comfortable booths and wood paneling and good beer on tap, or eat more quickie style at a few modest tables inside the convenience store section. Prices have gone up but still affordable compared to other pizza joints and at Carmelo's the quality is obvious. The other section is a few steps down a short hallway and includes a bar, tables and booths with indoor and some outdoor seating too. We initially walked into this side but moved over to the convenience side after we realized we could grab a few slices right away and be on our way. I asked the lady cleaning and she wouldn't give my a slice because they had to clean up first. I told her I could pay at main counter and she only had to grab one just lying there , still in the display she said sorry . Now we were a little surprised when we reached our destination because it was a gas station and convenience store but we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did. In the back of the store was the pizza place. Brick oven and all. They had a steady stream of customers. We ordered a meat supreme. We noticed that there was an additional place with more seating and a bar. When our pizza arrived it smelled so good. The crust was thin and toppings were piping hot. We found this place while on the look out for gas. It is small and attaches to the gas station. The bathrooms are in the middle of a hallway separating the gas station and this pizza place. It has a bar as well.The service was quick and friendly. Our server kept our drinks full. She was friendly and answered all our questions in the spot. The food tasted good. The dough tasted fresh made. The stuffed special slice I had was very filling. This place is somewhere we recommend all pizza lovers go. They do have a military discount. read more

The pizza is very high quality and they went above and beyond by giving me a large cup of marinara sauce for dipping. The marinara sauce had chunks of tomato and onion, it was obviously freshly made and delicious. Friendly service, they have italian herbs, crushed red pepper, and parm cheese on the tables. Yeah, never again. Had high hopes from the reviews but obviously these standards are pretty low. Took about 45 minutes to get one pizza, then we watched it sit on the counter for a good while people built pizza boxes. We approached to get it ourself and was told they'd bring it to us.. which they did eventually after more waiting and watching. Eventually the girl with pink hair finally brings it. When we asked for plates we were explicitly told " I only have two hands" with a lot of sass. Well no shit. Maybe bring plates before hand so we don't inconvenience your ever so important box building. But what can you expect from a gas station pizza place run by children. Had we known before hand that the pizza comes with being disrespected we would've passed. Only reason we didn't address this with a manager when we were in is because watching how everyone was working, slow, unmotivated, and low energy is telling of how management runs a the business.
