This restaurant was just OK. The service was rather slow. I ordered a chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes. Maybe I'm picky, but I don't like mashed potatoes just lukewarm. I like them warm enough to melt butter and to taste warm in my mouth. The salad that went with the dinner was OK but we weren't offered any choice of salad dressing. It was what they gave us. They Just lost a customer. I ordered takeout and the young girl said to give it 15 minutes. I said I'll be sitting right outside. Glass windows with full view. So She said OK. Then 25 minutes later I go in and see that the bag sitting on the counter for 10 minutes was mine. I said it was sitting there for 10 mintutes and she said sarcastically-- "It's not my job to bring you your food." Mind you, she was BSing with 2 girls not working when I walked in. I only had their pizza so this is just about the pizza. Let me say upfront every time it was for a fresh, whole pizza and not by the slice. I feel there is always difference between a fresh pizza and a reheated slice. So I dined inside with friends and thought the service was attentive and quick and the place was clean. The best Grandma Sicilian pie in the area! Excellent meatball parm also. And when they make the soup of the day escarole soup it's a go too!

They do a very good job with certain items. Eggplant is usually done very well along with fried filet of sole oreganata. Pizza is very good but they must pay attention to detail and not send out burnt pie. Chicken soup is amazing too! Buy one get one dinners during the week too. We go on Thursday's for their Pasta night. A lot of choices and they will let you let you leave out some of the ingredients or add some. Lots of parking in Applegarth plaza so we pull in and I order a large pie with pepperoni {$19.75}....How basic can you get and pretty hard to fuck up if you make a decent sauce, use good cheese,peppperoni and your ovens are up to temp. 15 minutes and out comes the pie..... NY style thin crust,looks and smells legit so off to the kitchen table go I and the pie. So here's the thing.... This pie walked the walk of the pizza I used to scarf down from a little joint on Astor Place in the west village... Thin,good char on the crust,just the right amount of a slightly sweet sauce and decent cheese. But the clincher was the pepperoni grease rolling down my elbow.... we killed the pie with just a shake of pepper flakes and garlic powder {organic of course}.... Every town should have an Italian restaurant like Antonio's. Joe the owner is a lovely person. He has kept up the business really well through the challenging times due to Covid-19. Best pizza (cooked well done) in the area! We travel 15 mins to make Antonio's our regular and it is well worth it. An XL pie is $14.00. I've never had bad pizza here! Their dining room and full menu (pasta, sandwiches, salads etc.) are all good. Their Sicilian slices are THE BEST!! I love absolutely everything I've had at this restaurant. Lunch take-out is speedy if you order pizza by the slice. Call ahead for the rest of the menu. Super good house salad dressing too. Great family owned pizza place in town. Free garlic knots. Fast service. They are a local favorite for a reason. read more

Food is good but VERY POOR customer relations! I took the trouble to call and tell them that they need a sign in the window that says "closed Mondays" because the current signage listing hours and includes Monday. I drove there on a Monday and pulled up in front of the restauarant. I could see the hours posted on the door and since it included monday I got out of my car. I AM DISABLED so it is not easy to get out, up the curb and to the door only to find it locked. When I called to tell they them need to put a sign saying they are closed on Monday, the person who answered the phone was RUDE to me and kept repeating "It's not our fault. We had a sign up for two years." I said I hadn't been there in two years and the nasty woman just kept repeating: "It's not our fault." What kind of way is that to treat a customer. And how diffcult is it to put a sign in the window that says "Closed Mondays"? Nasty people. Need to take class in customer service. read more

I've ordered from here before as it very convenient and not many options in the area. We placed an order for delivery and was told it would be about 45 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes later we decided to call and see where the food was. We were told The driver was on the way it should be any minute. We call back another 20 something minutes later as the food was still not there and a woman answered who was extremely rude. Literally no customer service skills. All we wanted for her to do is just apologize that the food was taking longer than expected and give us a timeframe for when we could expect it. She didn't do any of that. I don't know if they were just having a delayed day or what The interaction with her really turned me off. read more

I see three stars and I guess that is where I am with them. Maybe it should be two stars or four stars. Maybe they are an enigma. I can't believe I had dinner there Thursday, Friday, and Sunday this past week as I write this. Funny, my Dentist just moved into the area a few months back and today I asked him as he was working on me if he found any good restaurants. He did mention he didn't like Antonio's. I should have asked him why but I didn't. They, Antonio's, were busy busy Friday and Sunday when I was there. Their portions are more than generous. Their waitress is very impressive in handling a lot of people with competence and personality. Even their bus boys deserve kudos. The owner's wife who often helps waitressing appears to be a nice lady. Years ago they were cited for not being clean and that perception lingers. Sometimes though that is true of many restaurants. If the owner Joe stepped up to that I could give four stars easily and certainly would not give two stars. For now I will go with three.
