I stopped here to search for some antique jewelry as an anniversary present for my girlfriend. Steve was the main jeweler there and needless to say he was very knowledgeable in all his pieces and of the craft itself. A true professional! Unfortunately I did not find what I was looking for but I'd come back there for any other treasures I may need in the future or if I needed any sort of repaired made. I am writing this review after walking out of Antons MINUTES ago and I had to give my 5 stars right away! Steve is absolutely amazing at what he does. I brought my engagement ring to him in pieces, and he put it together looking even better that new. My fiance and I honestly don't really know a lot about jewelry and instead of taking advantage of that he explained all of the details of what happened and showed me close up on the ring what was wrong and different options to fix it. He did not try to overcharge me. He even suggested I send it back to the jeweler I purchased from because my ring is so new and they should try to make it right free of charge. This is an overdue review, but I came here sometime in the last couple weeks to get my necklace fixed and Steve was such a sweetheart! My necklace had a very delicate chain and it had broken because I accidentally tugged on it too hard, but he was able to repair it in under 5 minutes and it looks fantastic! His pricing is so generous for the quality you receive, and he is very honest and friendly. He deserves every penny he gets and more. The other reviews definitely ring true, this is the place to go if you need to get any jewelry fixed! I came across Steve as a result of Yelp. I was looking for a jeweler to make me a mounting for a diamond I had bought for my wife and wanted an engagement ring setting. I had been quoted big bucks by two other jewlers, actually more money than the diamond itself. Steve patiently listened to what I wanted and then guided me into a setting that would guard the stone from chipping or damage and was picked out of a book he had in the store. My wife was more than thrilled at what he selected for "her" stone.. In fact she was so thrilled she had him do a wedding band accompaniement to the diamond. I will forever be a cheerleader for Anton's Jewelry Shop. It's a tiny business, and the guys there are honest, knowledgable about what they do, and so sweet. Anton, the owner, is an older man originally from Austria...and will gladly talk your ear off about it if you let him! Steve mostly runs the place, is super chill, and looks like he should be working in a smoke shop or a biker bar. (side note: call ahead if you're stopping by on a whim...just to make sure someone's there!) Steve helped me fix my grandma's antique jewelry for the wedding, and did a spectacular job. While i was there back in november i told him i've been looking high and low (ebay, etsy, overstock, you name it) for a simple, understated and elegant gold ring with a single tiny ruby. He thought for a second, then brought out a box of lovely, thin solid gold bands set with sapphires that he had made himself 30 years ago that he just had "sitting in the back". They were so sweet and perfect my throat caught in excitement. He then found me a couple of teeny tiny rubies, told me which were of higher quality, etc...and long story short, he is giving me an amazing deal on the little ruby ring of my dreams! They've got some BEAUTIFUL jewelry there, rings, brooches, necklaces--new and antique--and i highly recommend going by their shop if you're looking for something special...big or small. I came here to have a ring resized, and had a relatively pleasant experience with Steve. The ring was rather elaborate and had a lot of semi-precious stones, so there was some concern about the stones shattering, but the workmanship was good and I was satisfied. Several months later, I had another ring with a simple, thin sterling silver shank which I wanted resized. When Steve told me how much it would be, I recoiled. He wanted to charge me the same amount of money he did to resize a much larger shank and a tricky ring design with stones, yet this was a simple band. What a ripoff. I am NOT going to spend a small fortune to get a simple silver shank resized! As I was leaving, Steve had the gall to berate me for not getting a ring in the "proper" size. I got news for you, buddy. I was in Bali when I purchased these rings. It's not like there were numerous sizes in the styles I liked. I have never been spoken to like that by a jeweler, and I will NOT be insulted like that again. I work nearby and read the Yelp reviews so decided to give it a try to fix a ring that isn't worth much but has a lot of sentimental value. I called and spoke to Stephen, he said to come on in and he'd take a look. He treated my $100 ring with as much attention as he probably would a $1000 ring, and fixed it for $15. What a great little place this is. I came to Anton's because of all the great Yelp reviews. When I got there, the outside looked a bit sketchy and seemed locked, so I called, and to my embarrassment, the outer door was unlocked. I just hadn't tried to open it. Just letting others know that it looks sketchy on the outside (it doesn't even say it's a jewelry shop), because that keeps the folks on the inside safe. Steve usually only goes by appointment. I brought in an old earring that belonged to my great-grandmother. I had a photo of her wearing the earrings on her wedding day in 1890. Since the other earring had long been lost, I decided to turn it into a pendant necklace that I could wear. This was sort of a "nothing" job for Steve who is a fantastic jewelry artist - but he gave it such great care and even called me when the job was going to be a little more involved to make sure I still wanted to do it and it would cost a few bucks more (like $20 more). Since it was delicate work that he needed to contract out....he must have made only a small bit of money on the transaction. But I got just as good customer service as anyone else. He really CARES about getting the job done right and to your satisfaction. Not only that, but I brought in some of my old jewelry that I had inherited and he gave me valuable information about the pieces...mostly that none of it was worth much! At least I know now! ha ha He was so friendly and accommodating - just a great experience. The pendant, by the way, looks BEAUTIFUL. I have not taken it off since I picked it up a few weeks ago. Now that I know about him, I am going to refer him to my friends and family when they need jewelry work done. My wife took a couple of inherited rings to be resized. They were difficult because of their designs and there was a risk stones could fall out. I had a different (well known local jeweler) refuse to do the work because of the risks. We asked "What's the sense of having rings that don't fit?" But they still refused. I saw this place received good reviews so we took the rings here for a second opinion. He agreed there was a risk but took on the job. We left the rings and got a call several hours to hear they were done. No damage! No lost stones! No problems! The cost seemed a little high but he did need to add gold to the rings so I can't really say it was unreasonable. Regardless, my wife now has two very nice rings she can actually wear for the cost of a cheap ring. We are very pleased. read more

TL/DR: He's awesome, trustworthy, does excellent work!!! Once upon a December 2014 afternoon, I got the bright idea try on my engagement ring set to see if fit again after not having worn it for about 2 years. It did not and after a frantic YouTube search for "how to remove a stuck ring" (nothing worked) and briefly freaking out that my finger was going to require an E/R visit, I realized a jeweler could get the ring off my finger. I did a Yelp search for jewelers in my area. I came upon Anton's Jewelry and saw their stellar Yelp rating and reviews. I called, explained my situation, and headed out the door straight away. Steve was very calm and kind and had seen this exact issue before. I trusted that the person who was cutting through my most precious ring set knew what he was doing and I was not wrong. He gave me a quote for the repair, which included resizing and soldering the rings together. I just had the work done this April 2015 and I am beyond thrilled with the results! Called in the other day to see if a silver ring I have could be adjusted (it was slightly too big). Steve helped me right away. He took the time to ask me how it fit and to see how loose it was (he also took into consideration that we're in the thick of a heatwave and said that his adjustment might make it fit a bit tight but that it would fit perfectly in normal/indoor temperatures). Left it with him and a few hours later he called to say it was ready (super fast service!). Came by to get it, tried it on and it was too tight but Steve adjusted it 3 more times while I waited until it fit perfectly! He also inspected the settings on my wedding rings and steam cleaned them. Gave me some tips on how to clean them at home and insisted that if I had any questions about cleaning any of my jewelry to just give him a call -- he's extremely nice and obviously very helpful! This is a guy who loves and takes pride in his work. and works very hard to keep his customers satisfied -- I would trust him with my most valuable pieces! P.S. He always identifies gems before he cleans them or does any work on them, so GENTS, be warned: if you don't want your lady to find out she has cubic zirconia instead of diamonds, you better take the jewelry in yourself because he is honest with his customers and tells them exactly what they have and how to take care of it. read more
