Edited to add that we still return here and they have now added a mini grocery store filled with South African delights (and a few treats from England too!).

Hot Chicken Flatties with a side of my Texas Baked Beans! Killer chicken!

Big fan of Anton's. Picked up groceries yesterday including spicy biltong and 2 hot chicken flattie's. The peri peri marinate is delicious! Support local!

We love to get the frozen foods. The pastry pies are wonderful! We have several varieties frozen in our home freezer. They come in especially handy during the holidays. We just had a Cornish pastry pie and it was delicious!

    Mini Meatball Sandwich - delish!

Unpretentious, family-friendly restaurant. Owners' young children greeted me for breakfast. My omelette was served with care by Anton himself. I just tried the meatball sandwich. It was delish! My only complaint is the size. I could literally eat 12 of these little sandwiches.

Anton's is slightly off the beaten path from the more well known strip of restaurants in Roanoke but is worth a visit. Don't let my three stars throw you off - I can be a critical critic, haha! The family run business is wonderful. Anton is a one man show in the kitchen so at times, not all things are available or sold out. The food is tasteful, but we had a hard time distinguishing the flavors. The bread was great and you can tell extreme care is used in making all of the desserts too. Out of all the items, I think we liked the Chicken Masala the best. Again, go try it for yourself. How often can you say you've had home cooked, South African food in Tarrant/Denton County?!

What a gem! This was my first time to venture into South African cuisine. We had the fried biscuits (small) with meatballs, and it was my favorite thing. We also had the cottage pie as well. So good! Perfect for a cold day! The service was outstanding, the owner was very informative, and friendly. I will absolutely come back. Wish it was open for dinner, but cannot wait to try breakfast! Yummy!

I'll keep it short. The service was great but The flavors were not for me and the dish was full of fat!

Hands down best restaurant in Roanoke! This is a family friendly mom and pop scratch whole REAL foods store AND restaurant! I love their breakfast and taking their sausage pastries to go. Makes an easy healthy meal for the family! We will be coming here more than weekly for a while!

Excellent array of delicious dishes from south of the equator. I had the Cheese & Mince and it was fantastic. Sorta like an exotic sloppy joe. Also sampled the French toast and noted the wonderful cinnamon finish. A meat ball sampler was desert, and it had a great, almost game-like, flavor. Still enjoying it as I type this. A truly unique restaurant further making Roanoke the Unique Dining Capitol of Texas.

I forgot so about the card until someone asked me if I used food delivery companies. I loved them in the past but had some odd experiences. Nevertheless since I was in TX and not familiar with any of the local restaurants I decided to pick food the person I was with had never tried. After researching several options I landed on this place. I ended up ordering several items so I could get the person to try a variation and so I could get a good idea of their approach and how they prepare specific dishes. Especially in the DFW area. I'm American but have worked in parts of Africa in the 90s and lived in NY and the DC areas. I'm from CA and it took much longer for West African food products to make it west. I ordered over $200 worth of options. The pricing made me change my mind on 3 different occasions on separate days over 2 weeks. I then justified by thinking, that if the portions are fair I food freeze items and/or eat leftovers a few times with the spices marinating and getting better. Overall, I was very pleased. I've attached a photo of my receipt and food. I wish they had placed more of the spicy pepper paste being that in every note, I wrote spicy or extra spicy and there wasn't an option for condiments. Some of the pieces of meet in the dishes were sparse or just the fat. The pieces of goat in the curry, egusi, and okra could have been cooked longer but the flavor of all three dishes was delicious. The person who had the food for the first time enjoyed the spices but their expressions when asking questions related to each item, were hard to decipher. They don't have a mature palid and stick to what they like (bad food) for over 50 yrs. When I brought habaneros to cook with, they had no clue what they were, even though their mexican salsas said habanero was in it but the peppers on the bottles were not habaneros. The added rice with the dishes was very good even though I bought the jollof rice as well. Having both was smart. Again. I wish I had more African pepper paste The person I was with LOVED THE PLANTAINS.. T wasn't surprised. They were ripend and cooked to perfection. I had to hide them so when more food was being tasted the focus would be on the others. I was right about having leftovers and nothing went to waste.I even served the rice with fish dishes I prepared later in the week. Yes, I would choose this restaurant again!!! However, I think I'm going to drive there and order to see if the portions are the same and if I'm saving any money. Oh, I forgot to mention that the restaurant did and excellent job of packaging the food abs placed all bags and containers in a box. There was only one container that had saran wrap that leaked due to it being squashed and cracked. The way it was wrapped.. saved the dish!!!

I for sure got that. Egusi was amazing. It came out steaming hot. It was painful waiting a few minutes for the food to cool down because I wanted to eat it right away. But it's not good to complain about food being too hot. There was ample seating. The server was attentive and courteous. When I walked in there was a black cowboy riding a Rodeo on TV. So assume this may be a great place to watch sports and eat. Make sure to order an Indian Malta with your food. There was a wide variety of food selections on the menu. So it's a good idea to reviews the menu prior to coming. See images attached. I will be back for the awesome food.

Whether it be the African locations, in Toronto, or this Addison location, Nando's never disappoints. The service is always consistent and good. The ambiance is great with great music filling the room. And the food is wonderful. We got the family platter which comes with juicy chicken, delicious kebobs, and sides - we chose peri peri fries, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes. You can't go wrong with any of these, but the Brussels sprouts are fire - highly recommend them.

When I went on weekday dinner time, the place was packed. I was lucky to get one of the last tables. It was a semi self serve, I put in the order via website, got my utensils and water, but the staff brought the drinks and dishes to the table. I was looking forward to trying the chicken liver, but they were out of stock. That was a bummer! But I ordered the quarter dark meat chicken with mango lime sauce. I was glad the chicken still tasted so good, topped with really flavorful grilled skin. The coleslaw and fries were decent side. Prices were good for most of the items. The staff members were nice. The shift manager apologized for not having the chicken liver and processed the refund right away. They also checked with us multiple times if we got all our items. All the sauces, utensils, water bottles were constantly refilled in the condiment area. I enjoyed the peri peri experience here after such a long and also regretted at the same time that they don't have any location in NYC/North NJ.
