So happy I got to experience Antoya. I started with the half and half wings. The garlic wings are undoubtedly my favorite over the sweet and spicy. I've already made plans to come back just for the garlic wings. The bulgogi bibimbap was my other favorite - the whole bowl was flavorful and I also can't wait to come back for this bowl too. The glass noodles were cool, even better with what I imagine is a teriyaki sauce [the brown dipping sauce next to the orange dipping sauce]. This spot was nice and in the center of Koreatown in downtown. It was not a KBBQ that I was used to. They actually grill the meat for you right here, and you just eat! It was a pretty cool feature to experience. I went with a group and enjoyed meat and the rice. There was a lot of other stuff to eat, but not much of it was to my liking. Strong 4/5 stars for the food, service and ambiance. Beautiful decor but there's only 1 bathroom (?) Food - banchan specifically the cilantro pineapple kimchi was spectacular. A little sweet.. salty... herby - different but fantastic. The fried chicken (spicy and soy garlic) was really good (meat, crunch, temp, flavor) considering they don't specialize in chicken. Ribeye bbq was good but wasn't special. The naeng myun was refreshing and everything we needed! The yook jeon (meat pancake) and sauce was the highlight. My friend and I got the marinated short rib and prime rib eye. We also got a free appetizer (we chose the seafood pancake) for checking in on Yelp. There was enough food for us to take home. We decided to try Antoya since we were in Korean Town and I was glad we did. This place is a la carte and not ayce just in case some people are looking for an ayce kbbq. We ordered some drinks and spicy seafood tofu soup to enjoy with our meat. The mix drinks were good and you can definitely taste the alcohol. The seafood tofu soup went good with the rice and meat. We all enjoyed the flavor of the seafood soup. My wife thought it was a little spicy but her spice tolerance is very low. We ordered the marinated galbi, dry aged ribeye, dry aged prime short rib, and pork belly. The food was very good. The galbi was my youngest son's favorite. It had a good amount of marination that brought out a lot of flavor. My older son loved the dry aged prime shirt rib more since it has less fat compared to the other meat selections that we had. I thought all the meat were good and the dipping sauce went well with the meat. I wish the pork belly had more flavor. I usually order the pork belly to grease the pan before I cook the other meat but they have some fat cube that comes with each meat plate which was a good touch. I would skip the pork belly next time. I started off with 4 meat dishes and was planning to order the lamb and beef tongue after but my wife and kids were already full. The portion of the dishes do not look filling but looks can be deceiving. I would recommend ordering a few dishes first and then order more after since the price can definitely make a dent on the wallet and you don't want to pay for the food that you don't finish. Overall, the experience was really good. The server cooks the meat for you which allows you to really enjoy the night and socialize with your party. Our server was very attentive and talked to us while cooking our meat. I highly recommend this place for the food and atmosphere. I had to constantly flag down any server that was going by because our main server kept forgetting to deliver our orders. The only thing they remembered was our main meat set and our cocktails.
