Ashes to Ashes was an absolute lifesaver. The first mortuary we sent our mother to was abysmal - extremely pushy and tried to strong-arm us through the entire process even though we had to wait to hear back from the coroner about autopsy and testing. Belinda and Shannon were a breath of fresh air after dealing with that. They were kind, patient, understanding, and lovely throughout the entire process. Their rates are also extremely reasonable compared to other mortuaries. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. They really care for your deceased loved ones and work with you through the entire macabre process. The entire process has been a mess. First, THEY ARE NOT A CREMATORIUM. It's a tiny office in Atwater Village with no on site services as all. They outsource all of the actual work of cremating a person, pet, responsibility etc. They were supposed to "take care of everything". It took 9 days before our mother was cremated. For Buddhist this is all wrong. They were supposed to deliver the ashes to us - we had to pick up her ashes from their 10' x 15' office hidden on the backside of a weird building in Atwater. They were supposed to expedite and get death certificates to us. 6+ weeks later and still nothing. If "take care of everything" means drop the ball at every facet, then yes - they "take care of everything". I'd maybe use them for a pet, no way for a human read more

This has been one of the most difficult things one can do. Covid has been havoc on us all but more so to those who have passed. A very close family member passed and I must have called 30 locations for cremation and none had anything available, some outright denied me... others were straight forward and told me they couldn't help me for months. I called all the way to Ventura County and nothing. Having your loved one in a hospital refrigerator waiting for weeks/months is heartbreaking to say the very least. We found this location s/w Lawrence and he was amazing. Nice man who had all the patience in the world. You have to be a special kind of person to help those who are in the most darkest moments. I'm going to just state the facts, you can do your own editorializing. I selected Ashes to Ashes off a short list given to me by my mother's hospice service. This was confirmed at least three times. She died a couple months later just after midnight. When the nurse called them to collect her, they said they had never heard of her and refused to send anyone. I was allowed to grieve for five or ten minutes before I had to start my search from scratch in the middle of the night with a dead body in the next room. Up to you if you want to risk this, I don't recommend it. read more

I am so, so, SO grateful I found this place. My father passed away on August 20th in the morning, and I had called another cremation place who said they would get back to me within 3 hours. 9 hours passed and no call from them, which I normally would not be upset about because I'm pretty understanding, but time was of the essence since the hospital would only keep my dad there for 2 days. They indicated that I would have to wait until Monday to contact them. On Sunday morning, I took another look and to my good fortune, found Ashes to Ashes. It was the best connection I could have made. Belinda is there, a real person, with helpful information about the process, which is online, easy, and affordable. The best peace of mind you can buy. In my search I got real insight into the business ... dont go with a corporate conglomerate, go with Ashes! You'll get to know them all. Dominique handled a complicated process with the death certificate and worked overtime on my mom's behalf. I shared some much needed laughs with Ron.
