Upon entry you need to trek across the gym and downstairs to the locker rooms. Downstairs is also where you will find the basketball and pickleball courts, as well as the free weights. Upstairs are the cable machines and cardio equipment. The locker room is kind of nasty. Not well kept and often dirty. The dry sauna is absolutely disgusting. I would strongly suggest wearing feet coverings of some sort as I don't think the floors have been cleaned in months. I come to this club often as it is close but it is somewhat disappointing given the extremely high club dues.

I'll tell you why I think this place is great: PARKING: They have big parking available on-site. Although on the times when I go due to offered class/instructor at 10am M-F, the parking is pretty full. There are signs around other businesses that says "no Life Time parking allowed." But after noon, there are a lot of spaces available. AMENITIES: - Life Cafe - Sauna & hot tub - Life Spa salon - Personal Trainer - Classes - Kids club - Outdoor pool and tennis court - and more... CLEANLINESS: At Life Time Fitness, they offer hand towels and full size bath towels so you don't have to bring in your own. There are hampers throughout the building and you can drop off your dirty towel when you are done. Lockers are clean. Showers are a hit or miss depending the time - morning to early afternoon is clean; but evening, you might see other gym members loose hair in the drain, but I see housekeeping constantly present to maintain the area. I did use their weight machines upstairs and noticed some gym members don't wipe down the equipment. There are sprays and towels available. CLASSES: I mainly attend yoga classes and the studio is kept nice and clean. Numbers on the floor is easy to see. SERVICES: The front desk is welcoming and greets you when you arrive and leave. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and knows you by name. The instructors are helpful if you forgot to RSVP a space and will help you find a spot in class. I booked a massage appointment once at their Life Spa and the masseuse was professional and friendly. The only downside was the pricing. Overall, it is a good place to go work out.

Where nobody can become somebody, but most of all, a gym for everybody…read more Everything at Horsepower Strength and Conditioning starts with its Strength Coach/Owner, Matt Miller. Horsepower is less of a gym, and more of a program. The facility itself contains only what is needed to complete the phases of the program. There is not gym-only option where you can drop-in to do your own thing. The only option is to be 100% committed to the Horsepower program. That said, Matt is terrific at creating a program specific to your goals, and most importantly, appropriate to where you are in your physical and mental journey. Membership here truly runs the gamut of the diversisphere with all colors, creeds, and abilities finding a place where they can push beyond what they thought was possible. We have everyone from pregnant women preparing for birth, to women getting their strength back after birth, top level collegiate athletes, people coming off of injuries or surgeries, people trying to drop weight, people trying to gain weight, power lifters, martial artists, high school footballers looking to earn a scholarship, moms, dads, and everyone in between. It's truly a diverse mix of individuals who train here. The training sessions are private/semi-private, and you'll always have Matt's undivided attention where necessary. To have Coach Miller there to push you, and to make you push yourself, is really the key to unlocking your true potential. A note about pricing...if you inquire expecting gym prices there will be some sticker shock, but treating your inquiry as pricing for personal training/individual strength coaching, and the quote you get will make much more sense. For my private lessons in boxing and kickboxing, I pay $1/minute. The pricing at Horsepower, when broken down by session, comes to less than that, so keep in mind you're going to receive lots of 1-on-1 attention, you're not going to a gym where you'll figure things out on your own. Like I wrote earlier, you're committing to a strength and conditioning program, and you're committing to a coach who's going to make you the best you've ever been. I've been a member for over a year and I'll continue to be. I'm getting stronger and better conditioned all the time, I'm challenged all the time, I'm growing all the time. If you're ready for REAL change, this is the place.

I'm disappointed I have to write this review. I really wanted to like this gym, but this gym (and…read moreRollie) is just dishonest. If you try to call the number to contact the gym, it goes straight to Rollie's cell phone. He does all of the customer service work. When I wanted to start a membership, I called him and left a message. He replied and I came in and started up my membership. I was a member for maybe 8 months when I decided to cancel it and go back to LA Fitness. There were no stipulations in the contract as to how long I have to be a member. When I tried cancelling my membership, I couldn't get a hold of Rollie. I left him messages and texts and no response. If you go to this gym, you'll know that Rollie is only in around 10am-2pm, so I would have to take time off work to go into the gym, which I don't want to do. So, I left it on the voice message that I want to cancel my membership. Low and behold, a month later, I got another $50 charge. I tried calling Rollie again with no answer or reply. I texted him and a day later he replied "I'll take care of it". I asked him if the charge would be reversed and he never replied. I said fine, I'll just cough up a $50 loss. A month later (today), I got another charge. At this point, my only option is to cancel my entire debit card and get a new one. My bank is disputing the two charges from MetroFlex. Why is it so easy to start a membership but insanely difficult to cancel? Anyway, if you decide to go to this gym, good luck. Just go to LA Fitness. It's half the price, the equipment is a million times better, and they actually pay people to do real customer service work like cancel a membership.

Los Campeones - Brooklyn Center: My Take on the New-Age Bodybuilding Mecca of Minnesota…read more As someone who has been actively bodybuilding for over a decade in the Twin Cities, I've spent years searching for a gym that truly checks all the boxes--high-quality equipment, ergonomically smart machines, and an intense, no-frills environment rooted in traditional bodybuilding culture. I've held memberships at multiple gyms--including Anytime Fitness, Lifetime, LA Fitness, Minneapolis Bouldering Project, university gyms, and even Planet Fitness (lmao, only for tanning during show prep)--plus other Los Campeones locations. I also travel to different states to check out new gyms just for fun. I currently hold three active memberships to support my various hobbies and training styles, and I can proudly say: Los Campeones Brooklyn Center is easily one of the nicest gyms I've ever trained at. I'm thankful to have it in my own backyard. This location feels like a culmination of everything they've learned from other gyms--built specifically with serious lifters in mind, especially those in the bodybuilding community. The variety of machines and cable setups allows you to train with precision and purpose. If you know what muscles you want to target, this gym gives you every tool to do it right. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and the staff regularly walk the floor to keep everything in top shape. On the rare chance something is down, it's typically fixed by the next day--that kind of responsiveness is rare and appreciated. There's a posing room, more machines, racks, and cables than you could ask for, and enough space and equipment to support any discipline--aesthetics, strength, mobility, or general fitness. They even offer a designated fridge and area for post-workout meals, which is cleaned weekly (currently Fridays). It's small details like this that show the gym is built with intention and care for the people who train there. I've been a member since the soft opening, and it's been amazing to watch the gym grow based on real community feedback. It's clear the staff and owners genuinely care about building something great for everyone who walks in. Only downside? The parking spots are tight, and it can be a bit of a squeeze getting in and out of your car--but honestly, that's a small price to pay for a gym that delivers so much. Pro tip: Evenings can get busy, but if you go early morning or during off hours, you'll have more than enough space and equipment to yourself. More photos to come, but if you're serious about your training and want a space that matches your intensity, Los Campeones Brooklyn Center is the place. TL;DR: A true bodybuilder's gym with high-end equipment, clean facilities, and a community-driven vibe--Los Campeones Brooklyn Center is one of the best gyms in Minnesota.

Went to the Los Campeones Brooklyn Center location today, and I really liked it. This gym has a…read morewide variety of machines, so there's always plenty of options for a solid workout. The staff is friendly, and I especially like the bright, well-done lighting. The location also has a posing room and an MMA room, which is a great bonus. At times it can get a little crowded, and you'll often see influencer-type gym goers, which isn't necessarily bad but something to keep in mind. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a gym in the area.
