Anyways in Oak Brook is a great location for dinner, drinks, get togethers, or for hosting an event. Since my last review, Anyways has continued to stay consistent in their food and service. Bar and wait staff are always on point and helpful. Most recently, I went to Anyways with a very large group and the bar staff are the ones that took care of all 25 of us. Phenomenal job! They were flawless in their service! I always enjoy their Prime Rib Dip! Lots of flavor, great sized portion (always end up taking some home), and just overall delicious. I also enjoy their Mardi Gras Tilapia. Light, fund, delicious, and filling. The well is stocked and you can always get some sort of drink that you crave there. They also have menu items drinks that you should try, should you go that route. Anyways is a great staple with great food, service, and value. read more

Service was personable and the best part of this experience. If it wasn't for the food- I would consider a second try. I didn't even photograph the food- it was as worn out looking as the tiled orange floors and basement interior. I was in the mood to share appetizers and we settled on the Italian beef egg rolls ( just as weird as it sounds - and the cheese made it too weird for me). And then the nachos - it's rare to jack up a plate of Nachos but sadly they did. The pulled pork was to sweet and mushy like it came from one of those microwave packs its giving Napoleon dynamite nachos - fresh out of the microwave - cheese plastered down like rubber. I've been to this restaurant a couple of times now with my friends. You can kind of tell that this place is a family restaurant. A lot of locals come here to enjoy. Great food and company. All the food I've tried here. I've never been disappointed and recently I came here with my gals to celebrate all our birthdays, and we were in an area where we were able to enjoy our dinner and not being rushed to get out. This place has their own private parking lot. You could also make reservations here and they do have space for large parties as well. They also have a nice size bar and I believe they serve your standard bar drinks. When you dine in the lighting in the place is warm and welcoming. Not so bright with fluorescent lights or lights beaming on you. Here are the foods that I recently tried Appetizer Fried calamari, it's so good. I like that the calamari was not overcooked. It was soft, and the batter was like a thin, tempura texture. The dipping sauces were good as well, and the lemon wedges were fresh. I will definitely get this again because they also have the tentacles which is my favorite. Barbecue rib basket, this one you have a couple of ribs that also includes a side, and I got a loaded baked potato. Oh my gosh, the ribs are so good not overly sweet and it falls off the bone. Also the baked potato was fluffy. Just the way I like it prepared topped with bacon and onions and cheese with sour cream on the side. it was so good. I also ate the skin of the potato The pub Burger was a nice size thick quarter pound patty with the fresh fixings and brioche bun nice and juicy. We got the fries which was also fresh nice and crispy. I also like the fact that there was four of us and we were able to have separate checks. They also have specials of the day as well. The staff was friendly, and they were attentive to make sure our drinks were filled, and we didn't feel rushed at all. The price of the food was fair. It wasn't so much. We definitely made this place our go to place to get together and catch up. They didn't skimp on the food. The friends that I was with we all had a to go containers. Overall, this is a great Restaurant and they have good pub food. The place wasn't crazy loud like some other pubs with blaring TVs. Definitely a place to check out if you're in the area or want to plan something with the family and friends or even dine in yourself. read more

The service was great for our table of 12, but the food was lackluster. I love me some Italian beef, but the Italian beef egg rolls just didn't work and there was little to no Giardiniera in there. The pulled pork on the Carolina Style Nachos seemed like something I would have had sitting in my crock pot for days just slathered in bbq sauce. The pasta dishes we tried were just eh. I love this place. The parking lot makes it look packed 24/7 so I have been reluctant to go. However I finally went and it's huge on the inside. Great service everytime and amazing food. I am slowly eating my way through the menu. I have had their Reuben and Pot roast. Best Reuben I have had hands down. Pot roast was also homemade and delicious. I have had their nachos which are super cheap but made with quality ingredients that are fresh and so yummy. Their Alfredo is homemade and yummy. Their bbq pork quesadillas are fire. Just overall great food that is above average and really reasonably priced. I feel good about coming back here everytime. read more

I was in the area for a few nights and ended up here twice. The first was a five star experience. The second was three. So I'm giving them the average. The first night was a smaller group, after ten pm but we were getting food. Super friendly waiter. Food and drinks came quickly. We were in a side room, late on a weeknight so it was relatively quiet and good for conversation. The second time we had a much bigger group. 20 people. We'd told them in advance. They gave us a separate room but put us at four separate round table each with 6-8 seats. But each table had its own server. When we didn't have enough people to fill all the tables some wanted to move but the staff complained that they did this for us. Service was very slow even though each server only had about 5-6 people. And they didn't split the check. Food was fine. Pub grub. Nothing special. But it was a surly event for us to end our time together. read more

03/11/22 - I met my 3 buddies @ Pita Pita Mediteranean in Lombard for lunch, unfortunately they don't serve liquor so we went down the street to Anyway's Pub after we ate. Anyways Pub is a nice sports bar on Roosevelt Road in Lombard. Since we just got done eating we were interested in having a few drinks and catching up. Nice pub to relax, kick back and have a drinks. They also have a nice menu of bar type food. Maybe we should meet here instead and kill 2 birds w/one stone. read more

We've ordered delivery from them twice, and I don't think we'll be ordering from here again. The first time the food was okay, but the fries were cold and soggy. Not an uncommon issue for delivery, so that was forgivable. But the second time my husband ordered the grilled pork skewers and ..... I don't even know what to say about this. See the photos for how this meal was advertised versus what as delivered. It's like they thought if they put a ridiculous amount of rice in the takeout box, he wouldn't notice that there was barely enough pork to hang on to the skewers. Or that he got 5 skewers instead of 6. This was $18. If we had been dining in, we definitely would have declined this and ordered something else. We got a full refund through GrubHub so there's that at least. I hate it when restaurants charge you a pretty penny but then fill up your plate with inexpensive filler ingredients while skimping on the main ingredient -- which is exactly what happened here. It seems like no one cares or is checking quality. If they want to be a mediocre Americana place, that's fine but then have mediocre Americana prices. Sadly, I had violated my resolve to never go back to Anyways and once again it proved to be a horrible experience. I only went there because I was with family members who wanted to go there. Now they know first hand what a negative experience this place was. It' was a negative experience because it has really bad customer service. It began with my family seating themselves because the inattentive hostess had her head down looking at her phone and not at all paying attention to new customer arrivals. Once the family was seated in the sparsely populated restaurant, this bold and offensive hostess came to the table to scold them by saying they should not have seated themselves. Her tone was entirely self-righteous. I went back to the hostess station to let her know that she was offensive in her tone and demeanor. She immediately denied that she had acted that way and told me that what my family reported never happened. When I protested that it had happened, she said at no time did she do anything wrong, When I said I would be speaking to her boss, she mockingly said, 'go ahead'. She was snickering like she knew he would not do anything about the situation. She had all the confidence in the world that she was right and that her boss would back her up. So I spoke with her boss and he acted like my reporting the hostess's rude behavior was of minor importance. He said he'd have to get her side of the story. At no time did he apologize for the negative customer experience my family was having. At no time did he show his face at our table to make sure things were going OK. At no time did her boss say, how can I make this a better experience for your family or do you need anything? In the moment, the boss did nothing. If the boss valued our patronage, he would have shown some sort of expression of appreciation. Instead, he did nothing. What transpired over dinner then was the reading of Yelp reviews about Anyways. There are many, many negative comments. I regret just going along with my family's suggestion to eat there. If you are thinking of going to Anyways, be wary of the many negative reviews.. Don't take them lightly. Can you really afford to fool yourself into believing this would not happen to you? Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant in favor of the many restaurants in the area that have an excellent reputation for customer service. You'll be glad that you did. read more

Came in late on a Friday afternoon and were seated immediately. It was a bit loud in the first location (from the music) so we moved to a quieter spot so we could hear our conversation. The Oktoberfest menu looked fun, so I tried the schnitzel platter. The pork schnitzel was much better than expected with a light batter, excellent mushroom gravy (although I would have appreciated more to cover the mashed potatoes), and the most excellent side of green beans and carrots I've ever tasted. Seriously. Others in my party got the fried shrimp (very crunchy), burrito bowl, and black and tan burger. Super nice service. I always worry when I see a menu this long, but this is a go-to restaurant for my family, and I can see why! read more

We were part of a large group ( 25+). We were seated in their private dining room. These folks really know how to serve a large group. We all ordered off the regular menu. We used to come here a lot, then stopped for a while. Now that we came back, we see things have gone downhill. First, we came one weekend and had a good meal - but when we ordered dessert, they sent us two rock hard brownies, and I mean COMPLETELY INEDIBLE. You couldn't pierce them with a fork, spoon, or knife. They weren't frozen or burnt, just inexplicably completely solid as a rock. Ive never seen anything like it. When I gestured to the brownies and explained, they replaced our 2 inedible brownies with 1 barely edible brownie - it was softer, but still mediocre tasting and dry texture. And why didn't they replace both of the inedible desserts? We only received one replacement. It was such a mediocre replacement brownie though, that we didn't even want to replace the second one at that point. But you would think they would've been a little more concerned or trying to offer to make up for that terrible experience like by offering a different dessert perhaps. My son had just played 2 soccer games and was starving and had really been looking forward to that brownie. We were so disappointed, both by the experience and by the poor resolution. Still, we decided to give them another try. After all, we used to go there a lot and they are conveniently located for us. The food was fairly good this time, service always adequate, and needless to say - we skipped dessert. But within 12 hours after the meal my daughter was vomiting from the kids meal quesadilla and/or side of oranges she had eaten. We cant prove that's where she got it (like to the level of proof the County Health Department requires), but we are sure of it that it had to be the oranges & quesadilla we ate there. She hadn't eaten anything else out of the ordinary that day. (Plus, after the brownie episode, we just don't trust WHAT these people will try to serve someone and pretend like it is safe or edible. I mean, they tried to feed us those rock brownies and didn't even feel bad about it!) So I am extremely sad to say that to keep my family healthy and safe I will never go back again and suggest you do not go either. read more

I gave Anyway's a great review when we had a memorial lunch there last November. Today, however, there was a shower of some kind during lunch and I was with guests in the main seating area. Very slow service, tasteless appetizer, 3 overdone meals, two steak and one salmon, barely warm baked potatoes as the ice cold butter would not melt and overall dissatisfaction with all food. Here is the thing, if you have a large event going on, you bring in extra staff for the event so the cooks aren't overwhelmed and the service in the main rooms doesn't suffer. I found a very long hair in my food. My wife was so disgusted that she had to walk out after taking only one bite of her food. The waitress was very apologetic about it and I asked her how they wanted to go about paying the bill. She went to get her manager. The manager offered to remake the meal and I said no thank you. Even if I wasn't repulsed by their cleanliness why would I want another serving from the same kitchen? The manager said he would take my meal off our bill but not my wife's meal; she literally had only one bite. He said there was nothing wrong with her meal. After going back and forth he took her meal off the bill as well. I ended up paying for our salad and appetizer. I think I shouldn't have had to pay for that either but it did offer me an opportunity to leave our waitress some kind of tip. Mistakes happen but I shouldn't have to pay for them. read more

The wife and I have been in a few times and each and every time we leave full and happy. I HIGHLY recommend the French onion soup to start, and for the main the French dip or the steak wrap. The meat is quality with generous portions. The menu is quite big with something for everyone. Classic pub fare and very tasty. What more can you say? Good food. Good prices. Good service. Our waitress was very attentive to our party of eight. They accommodated us in their back room, so we were able to have a good conversation as this was a reunion of some grammar school friends. Everybody enjoyed their meals. They used to have good onion rings drizzled with a Guinness sauce, and while they are still advertised as black and tan onion rings, these things came frozen out of a bag. Pretty great false advertising. Our server was usually nowhere to be found. In fact at one point what was obviously friends or fellow employees showed up to eat there, and she took their baby and disappeared with it. We ended up going to the bar to get our own refills. Stopped in here for the first time and had the fish and chips. Very good and my grandson had the kids pasta and ate every last noodle. Thad good for a kid that usually only eats 1/2 of his meal. Historically a pretty good casual place. I always Liked their st party's day menu but not this year. Saturday afternoon. Around 130. First offense I ordered a pint of Guinness and got an 8oz plastic cup! Really ? First that's not a pint. Second who the hell serves Guinness in a plastic cup ?! Insisted she bring me one in a pint glass for my next and final Guinness! My wife loved her chicken sandwich. However The Corn beef was Overcooked dried out and tough enough that I needed a knife! I woulda sent it back but They appeared understaffed since our waitress had disappeared. I was really starving so I choked it down. The waitress showed up with the check. Nobody ever asked how the food was? I just paid and left her a 20% tip anyway out of sympathy not coming back anytime soon. Highly disappointed. read more

Great restaurant decent distance from the zoo. Had the vodka sauce chicken pasta which amazing. For the kids chicken and pita which came w a lot of fresh steamed veggies and my toddler loved it. Anyways is a small chain of restaurants in the Chicago area. The one on Illinois Highway 38 (Roosevelt Road) in Oakbrook Terrace is just outstanding. We had a group of 26 and Hector Ramiriez and Chris Zakos had perfectly organized. Meatloaf and French Onion Soup are outstanding. Prices are very reasonable. Friday afternoon at 2:00 should not be hard, yet we sat...and sat...and sat. We had to wave down our server every single time we needed something. Food was OK. Nothing special at all.
