Stay away from this company. Do not use them. They are unreliable and unresponsive. 08/07/2010 They were scheduled to come unload a POD I had packed and moved from Houston to Jonestown TX at 8am. The called the day before to confirm the move and address. At 755am I got a call from the owner who said their truck came in late last night and had to be unloaded before they could come do my move. I was told they would be there no later than noon and they would call to confirm they were on the way. Noon came and went with no call. Numerous calls to the office went unanswered and messages were never responded to. Eventually i found a company to come out and unload my stuff on Sunday morning. Apache never called, showed up and I would never attempt to use this company again. Stay away. Stay far away. read more

Sloppy sloppy sloppy. These guys were friendly, and quick, but VERY sloppy. When moving items in to my new house they chipped several door frames, and didn't seem to care about taking time to do things right -- several times they'd just have one guy on one big heavy item, and what do you know... he didn't have the precision he needed to make it through without banging the sides. Lastly, they hooked up my Washer and Dryer (and I tipped them extra for the service) and then I found out after they left that they really did a half-assed job. The dryer vent hose was bent and basically destroyed and came off the moment I turned on the dryer. The washer cold and hot water plugs leaked. If you're moving from apartment to apartment... maybe hire these guys, at $85 they aren't horribly priced (but certainly higher than some quotes I got), but they really aren't the crew for quality or attention to detail. read more

Never, ever, under any circumstances use this company. The problems: - Inaccurate Estimates, blown by $3000 - Blown estimate on capacity needed to move all items. - Showed up with pickups and moving trailers (two) which were not enough for this type of move. - Movers were hostile, and overtired - Furniture missing (Dresser Mirror) and not replaced or located - Tossed furniture around, dinged it, scratched it - I had to force via the owner to get them re-pack the trailer because they were actually going to leave me with unloaded stuff. I drive a sedan. - Did not make the timelines insisted upon; - Blew the HOA move-in times - Moving in at 3am because they would charge another move to come back the next day. - I had to help them move the furniture because they were tired and marking up the furniture - Didn't reassemble furniture because they had to be at another job - Called the owner Terry to tell him that if one of the guys didn't leave I'd call the police - Terry replied that if he didn't stay, they would take the rest of my furniture to a warehouse and go the legal route. - The movers are not paid hourly, they are paid on commission, so they don't care if estimates are blown. The racket is that they give you the low estimate so you select them, and then when they show up they start raising the prices. "Oh we didn't understand this", "Oh we didn't know about that" bla bla bla. - If you tell them that you won't pay, they tell you they will leave and you need to find another mover. Good luck finding one on move day, and they use that to extort you for more money. - Owner is openly hostile, great on the phone and through the process until the inevitable problems on moving day, then it's all of the above. This is goon-level extortion at it's finest. Monkeys would have been better. At least with monkeys I wouldn't have had to threaten to call the police. read more

I used Apache moving for the best price around town. I had Jade and Dexter help me move from 1st flr apt to a 3rd flr apt within the same building complex. I had only the big items going upstairs and the rest going into a garage storage within the same complex. The items going into the garage was mostly my mother's items and they were very kind and took the time to listen to my moms instructions and place all the Rubbermaid bins in the exact spot she wanted them stacked in the garage. This was a HUGE help for me cause I would have had to reorganize them for her again if they weren't done by the guys. Almost everyone charges a trip charge before they even get to you. Well Apache doesn't charge you all these added fees just flat fee pricing. Apache by far had the best pricing and the guys got us all moved in within 3 hours. That's pretty fast to me knowing how much stuff we had in the garage and going up and down 3 flights a stairs. I know it can get hard after a few times. The guys kept going and didn't waste my time since I was being charged by the hour. The 2 guys I had were nice and they made me feel like they were friends helping me move unlike other companies just move your items and on to the next. Your just a number to them and don't care how you and your stuff is treated. If you want the best price for moving they are it. Terry gave me the flat price of the deposit money down which was only $100 which will be applied to the final total of the move. The whole 3 hours was $345. We have used Apache before with great results. However we used them yesterday and we were very disappointed. First they refused to move any loose stuff. they told my wife she had to help them move our things. So needless to say when they left there was still a lot of stuff still to move. Apache moved me 3 years ago and did such an amazing job that I knew I wanted to use them again. Well, the team that helped the first time was amazing-efficient, fast, very polite and very careful with my belongings as well as walls/carpet of my places, however that was not the case this time. I moved same amount of furniture this time to a unit in the same complex and it took these guys almost twice as long then the first crew. My walls have to be touched up and my bed frames and sofa have marks as well. They also claimed 3.5hrs yet they started at 9:40 (8am was the scheduled time btw) and finished at 12:48. I had them move me from a 2nd story apartment to a 3rd story apartment. They were on time, super quick, placed my labeled boxes in the appropriate rooms (I didn't have to ask!). They were super friendly and even placed my porch chairs outside. The only reason why I can't give 5 stars is because an outlet cover got broken while they were moving items out of my old apartment. It was an easy fix but incredibly inconvenient; having to replace it after I had already packed my screwdriver. read more

After giving a pretty negative review to my most recent movers here in Nashville, I had to come back and give 4 stars of good review to Apache who did my move last December, 2011 and again in May 2012. I used the same 2 guys each time...I want to say their names were Vic and Anthony?? Anyway, sometimes you don't realize how great you had it until you have to use someone else. These guys were on an hour by hour rate and they got everything done each time in less than 2 hours. The first move was from a 3 bedroom house to a storage unit and the second move was just from storage unit to moving truck. These guys are HARD workers and they are fast. No lolly gagging here. They could have been just a bit gentler with some items. I had a pretty expensive brushed aluminum trash can get dropped and messed up, but it's a move and if that's the worst that happened, so be it. I also called and emailed at least 5 times to get a receipt of my first move emailed or mailed (I lost the original in the move) and never received it. I've probably moved more than a dozen times in my life, and Apache is the most incompetent moving company I have ever worked with. Do NOT hire this company. If you have a move scheduled with them, cancel it now! I hired Apache at an hourly rate of $105, to move me from essentially a 2/1 to a 2/1. I was told when I scheduled the move that I would be the first move in the morning and to expect the driver around 8:00 a.m. Two guys showed up around 8:45 a.m. with a small trailer that was connected to the back of a truck. I commented on how small the trailer was, but was assured it was larger than it looked. The driver asked me to sign the paperwork to begin, but the paperwork stated they arrived at 8:30 a.m. Apparently, I'm responsible for paying the drive time to reach my location. I signed the paperwork and walked the driver around my home and pointed out everything that needed to be loaded. I told the driver I wasn't sure if all of the boxes were taped well enough so he told me to leave scissors and tape so they could tape up boxes if necessary. I had moved all of my boxes into the dining room in an effort to reduce loading time. There were a few items in the garage and several plants that I also needed to have moved. Apache is one of the few moving companies I researched who moved large plants, so that was an important factor when hiring them. I explained to the driver I needed to sign the paperwork at the new place I was moving into. I asked him if he needed me to stay, or if he was OK if I left. He said it wasn't a problem for me to leave. I told him to call me if he had any questions. About three hours later, I called the driver and asked if everything was OK since I hadn't heard from them. He said "Yes" and said they only had a few more things to load, then they would be on their way over to my new location. When they arrived, the driver said they weren't able to bring the mirror to the vanity or my potted plants because they didn't fit in the trailer. He offered to go back and get them, but of course, I would have to pay for that time. Since it was only plants and a vanity, I told him not to worry about it. They unloaded my boxes, set up my bed, and plugged my refrigerator into the garage. Then the driver asked me if I had any tools so he could connect the washer and driver. My tools consist of a hammer and screwdriver, which didn't know where they were. He said they wouldn't be able to connect my washer or dryer then. (I later discovered they wouldn't have been able to connect anyway, because they didn't bring the plug or vent outlet to the dryer.) It wasn't until after they left that I realized I was missing about 20% of my things, including: a TV (thank you cable guy for pointing out that you needed a TV to set up service), a very expensive carbon road bike, 3-step ladder, all of the items from the pantry, a cooler with all of the items from the refrigerator, 2 Christmas trees (that were in a box), a multi-function printer, garden wagon, several boxes (one containing all of the sheets for my bed), very expensive sewing scissors, several small appliances, of course the mirror to my vanity, my lemon tree, orange tree, lime tree...this list doesn't even include all of the items that were broken. (I packed my glasses in a box specifically designed for glasses and wrote "GLASSES" on every side of the box. The guys must have put heavy boxes on top of the glasses because every single glass was cracked or chipped at the top.) I called Apache around 6:00 p.m. that evening and spoke to Christine, who is the wife of the owner. I told her (more like yelled at her) everything I just listed here, but in more detail. Her response? An apology? No! Her response was, "You did pay for an hourly move." Well, Christine, how many times do I have to pay you to move? That's quite the racket you have going on. You quoted me 4 hours, but I paid for 6 hours, and you guys didn't move all of my things. I told her I wanted to be compensated because now I had to hire another moving company to move the rest of my things, take another day off from work, AND replace all of the items that were broken. Christine's solution was to call the driver so I could speak to him about it. WHAT??? It's called "escalation" Christine. Do yourself a favor and look it up. It's been over a week since I spoke to Christine. I haven't heard anything from her or another representative from Apache. Unfortunately, my rental insurance doesn't cover incompetent movers so now I'm in the process of filing the paperwork to sue Apache in small claims court. (Thank you Texas. I can sue for up to $10,000 in damages.) I also intend to send a copy of the lawsuit to the Attorney General's Office with a complaint of deceptive business practices. If you are considering this moving company, think again. You are better off renting a U-Haul and hiring labor to load your items. read more

Horrible experience. Do not be fooled by their advertising. At first I thought I had a great deal with "the oldest moving company in Austin". Turns out the pricing was absolutely deceptive. It was more than double what I was expecting because I provided an itemized list to get a 20% discount. You would think that giving a list would make it cheaper, but instead I paid more than the hourly rate would have come out to. Then they held onto my stuff a whole 24 hours longer than expected because they overbooked their movers, so I was forced to sleep on couches for 2 days. Finally, when I called to explain that I was sleeping on couches and wearing someone else's suit to an interview and deserved a significant discount, I was told that I was attempting to extort money from the company. I will start off by saying the guy on the phone was super sweet. But this has been a horrible experience. We had an appointment with a different company to move us on Monday. Today is Sunday and we really wanted to move today but couldn't find anyone. My boyfriend did a bunch of online searches and couldn't find anything. This company went out of their way and called him saying they could move us from 4-7pm. We were so happy! 6 o clock rolls around and they call saying they can't make it til about 8 or 9. Fine, a little upset but that's ok. We call again to make sure they're still coming and the guy says it'll be about 9:30pm now. 8:30 rolls around and they call us again and say they have a "flat tire" and can't move us at all today. We planned our whole day around them and they completely screwed us. Thankfully, we kept our other appointment because we KNEW they would screw us over somehow. We couldn't even eat dinner because we never knew what time they'd come. So now we are angrily eating dinner at 9pm. read more

Needed movers and Terry kept calling me saying he would love our business and will take great care of us..well we said we need movers bright and early because we are relocating and time is money. Said they could do 830-9am..they nrver told me they were in Leander while im in Kyle! They shouldnt even serve Kyle because they didnt arrive until 10am which pushed us back by 1.5 hours. They blamed it on rain and traffic yet didn't leave the office until 845am. They gave themselves 15min to get to Kyle which is an hour away. They showed up and did the job but when we called back Terry was very rude and ugly and ended up making the new guy James call us back and refund us an hour. If your not in Leander or cedar park, dont waste your time..they will just blame it on traffic. Not a way to run a business. read more

Apache helped us with an emergency move when I had to cancel a move due to their earlier moves taking too long and strict freight elevator reservation times. James in dispatch was incredibly helpful getting me scheduled. Shawn G, and Bryce were very helpful and careful with our furniture. They wrapped everything in blankets and plastic wrap. We are in a narrow 3 story condo and they got everything up the stairs with no damage to the walls, floors, or furniture. And they were speedy, polite, and a great team. Moving is very stressful and their caution and attention to detail helped the move go very smoothly and calmed our nerves. Based on all of my moving experience, if you are doing a full house move, get a fresh crew first thing in the morning. Do not do anything else as moves before you may take an extended period of time and your crew may not show up on time or wiped out. In keeping with my past experience with Apache, Jason and Joshua were on time, professional, and personable. They worked well with me and with one another to promptly get a big job done. I tried to do my part, having water on hand for them and while there was no pressure to do so, I tipped them at the end of the job. It was the least I could do, as they provided exemplary service. Also, since I am no good at guessing how many boxes and quoting all the stuff we were moving, I asked that they send someone out for the initial quote. Terry (spelling?) came out and was very pleasant and professional while managing a walk through and quote that was spot on. While he said he was going to quote the box count a little high, he qualified his approximation with a a caveat - if the count is lower on move day, I would pay less. His interaction with me inspired confidence and his quote was spot on. The price point was quite reasonable and fair, so I booked the move a week out. They happily accommodated me. On move day, the changes to the quote were due only to changes I made the morning of. The quote was still quite fair. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. UPDATE - I had two different gentlemen for the move, Part 2, from storage to the new build. Scott and Frank were great. They communicated well, were on time, friendly and professional. Really late, but movers were really hard working and professional. Minus: Missed their 2 hour window by 3 hours. The office called at the end of the window to update that the movers were "on their way and stuck in traffic downtown". Which doesn't explain why they arrived 3 hours later. Plusses: They are *hard* workers. Very professional, courteous, and strong. We got Randy and Adam, and they were great. Luckily, we weren't that time-sensitive, otherwise this could've been a big problem. But for the money, I'd say that Apache worked out for us. read more

We hired Apache Moving and Storage upon the recommendation of our Realtor. We had received a great deal on a refrigerator but it didn't come with delivery. I contacted Apache and was able to get next-day moving services set up. Scott and Kyle came to the store, picked up the refrigerator, and installed it in our house. I was super impressed with how friendly they were. The handles on the refrigerator made it ever so slightly too large to fit through our doorway so they had to take the handles off the door. We just had a national moving service move all of our belongings across country and I was expecting the griping I had become accustomed to. Not so! Scott and Kyle were so professional, apologizing for needing to take off the handles to get it through the door. I would highly recommend Apache Moving and Storage. In the event that we purchase any items in the area that require local delivery I will definite use their services again. read more

The movers I had were nice guys and I have only one complaint about my services, my mattress was damaged!!! It is a king mattress and very heavy but there was blood on it once I got it back and the side handle ripped and it's LUMPY!! We moved from Austin Texas, to Del Valle Texas. We were mislead by the quote we were given. We went over item by item over the phone what we had to move. When they arrived, we walked the house again and were given additional charges that were not originally quoted or mentioned. In addition, a glass desk was broken during moving which they had charged us to break down; however they did not break it down and as a result was broken. We had an area rug which we did not want to take and one of the movers said he would like to keep it which was fine, but we were charged for that rug as well. They also broke down one of our beds and left the hardware at the old house and charge us for to put it together but it was not put together. We had a patio umbrella we were quoted to move and come to find out there was a separate charge for the umbrella itself and the base and the base was left at the house, but we were charged. There were more issues.... All I can say is that this was a very poor experience and I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Let me start by saying the people that actually did the moving of my furniture were excellent. They did a great job. My beef is with the owner and the owner's wife. She called me two times before the move to confirm the move and both times she gave me the wrong dates. When I corrected her, she proceeded to tell her husband that I was being unreasonable and bitchy. He called me and proceeded to tell me (two days before my move) that I could just go find another mover and that he didn't like my attitude. All I questioned was why the wife kept confirming the wrong day and how I was nervous that they wouldn't show up on the right day. He was hostile, abrasive and certainly not customer friendly. It really was too late for me to find another mover so I had to suck it up and "make nice" with this rude owner. Joshua was one of my movers too and he was great. The owner tacked on additional costs for hotels but these guys stayed in their truck and said they just get a percentage of the move. This was an out of area move and wasn't cheap. To this day the owner has not called and apologized for his lack of customer service discussion with me or calling be a bitch. I would never use them again but I'd try and find Joshua and hire him on the side. He was a bright light in an otherwise dim experience. read more

I chose Apache after talking to one of the owners, and yes, based on price selected them. First of all, the old adage you get what you pay for applies. The movers showed up in what amounted to a large trailer over an hour late. That was the beginning. I was quote a price for moving 7 items. I explained what furniture I had including two beds, one a king and one a queen, both would headboards and footboards. When the movers arrived I was told that it was $15 extra for each bed as they had to use their tools! Next I was told that if there was glass in the china cabinet (the actual furniture, not the glassware) I would have to pay extra. We removed it ourselves. When they moved the large dresser in our bedroom I was told that the foot of the dresser broke off! It was less than a year old, have never been moved since purchased, so I am doubting that it was old age that caused the breakage. I was told that it was good if I followed the truck to our new house as their directional lights on the trailer didn't work and they didn't want to get a ticket. At our new house, I was told that the two steps leading into the house (both 2" in hieght) amounted to a half a flight of stairs and I would have to pay extra for that. Are you kidding me? (I refused to pay it). In moving the furniture in, the went through mud with the furniture dolly. That was unavoidable, but they did not take any precaustions in using the same dolly caked with mud across a new wood floor - hence mud tracks throughout the house. They hit a wall with the dresser and made a gouge. The put the china cabinet on the floor and pushed it - large divot in our new wood floor that cannot be fixed. Did I tell you that I was told that if I wanted them to put the beds back together I had to pay extra - they had to use their tools! I asked them if I tipped them could they pass on the extra charge - of course they could! In leaving, the trailer made a huge gully at the end of the driveway. No one ever followed up on any of the damage done, or to call and see how the move went. I would not recommend them. read more
