I decided to check out this place for a casual Friday night dinner and was pleasantly surprised. We got a bottle of wine, a charcuterie and cheese board, a build your own sandwich, and build your own pizza. The wine was great and reasonably priced. The cheeseboard was great, my only complaint is that the waitress didn't walk us through what was actually on the board so we had no idea what kinds of meats and cheeses we were eating. The panini was perfectly crispy and huge! I had plenty to take home for leftovers. The pizza was also very good but I personally prefer thick crust and this was thin. COVID Precautions: All staff wore masks and there was a fair amount of social distanced outdoor seating. They also brought us freshly cleaned menus. The indoor dining room is also open but we opted to stick with outdoor during this visit so I'm not sure how they're handling things indoors. read more

This place is the real deal! From the food to the atmosphere Aperitivo is a must stop if you are in the third ward. They have an "Italian happy hour" where they serve complementary focaccia bread for as long as you are drinking. The subs are absolutely delicious and are only $8 so my days of getting Jimmy Johns or Subway are long gone. I got the The Wise Guy which is very similar to an Italian Night Club from Jimmy Johns but much better. I've been wanting to come her for awhile. It's only a short bike away from my residence, so with the weather last week, I decided to stop by for dinner and a drink. I was happy to sit on a patio and enjoy and lovely drink. The focaccia small plate was fluffy and delicious. I got a BLT and it was also delicious. It was giant, so I saved half for the next day (which warmed up perfectly in the oven). The staff was attentive and friendly. While the food at Apertivo is delicious, I have yet to have a positive dine in experience. I have dined in approximately 10 times, but the service is consistently the worst I've ever experienced. Their fare consists of sandwiches and pizza, but you will end up waiting at LEAST an hour. I understand that restaurants have staffing issues, but the wait staff is rude. This past time, I placed my order at 6:05, and did not receive my meal until 7:45. In addition, I ordered a sandwich to go when I ordered my meal at 6:05. This wasn't ready until 8:30 - I am positive it does not take 2 and a half hours to make a sandwich. If you order an appetizer, it will come out at the same time as your meal, even if you specify you would like it first. I wish I could visit again, but this was my final straw. Only get take out, as the food is delicious and reasonably priced, or be willing to spend two and a half hours on a sandwich. read more

Awful service. We showed up at a reservation at 1pm and left at 3:30pm. The waitress was not around a lot and served us the wrong beers, repeatedly. I like my hazys but was given heif Weiss.?? You kidding me?? The pizza was absolutely delicious but I can find way many more pizza places that taste better or worse, how about that? The service was pitiful. Great dining experience! The building has the rustic Third Ward feel. I came here with a work party. We got cocktails, veggie and charcuterie boards, pizzas, salads. Friendly and professional staff and everything came up promptly. They could benefit from having additional staff (as they had a lot to manage). Good size portions and high quality ingredients. Got a carryout panini today with chips... forgot to take any photos of the interior or of my food! I got a build your own panini with turkey, provolone cheese, tomato, mayo, red onion, and spring mix... it was only $8, huge, and soo delicious! I also got chips. The online ordering system worked seamlessly and it was nice because I could set a time to pick it up later (I ordered at 8 am for a sandwich to get picked up at 11:30). The interior of Aperitivo is so stinkin' cute! The bar looks like a perfect place to drink a glass of wine and enjoy a charcuterie board... very cozy with a wood bar. We found Aperitivo near our hotel and the food, wine, and service was above and beyond. We loved it so much we returned the next day and wanted to try more of the delicious food! I got the pritzlaff sandwich and it was phenomenal, I'd suggest it to anyone. This was our destination for our Thursday night out, celebrating our 27th anniversary. Let's keep this simple. The entire experience was perfect. Atmosphere, location, aesthetics, waitstaff and food/drink all get 5 stars. They offer complimentary small plates during happy hour with the purchase of a drink. The sandwiches were expertly made & get this, under $10! We even got a piece of carrot cake on the house from the manager/owner and got to hear a bit of history of the building and his business. Take out is fine if you're still worried about the dreaded virus but for us there's no substitute for the dine in experience in a place such as this. Well done. read more

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of everything at a reasonable price. Menu has several good sandwich options too. We ordered a mushroom and olive pizza, the charcuterie and cheese board and the cevapcici plate and a couple of bottles of wine for our party. The lamb sausage was amazing!
