Pretty solid vintage hipster style coffee bar near Main and King Edward. I still remember when this place used to be The Grind. Glad to see another coffee shop took over. Parking is available on King Edward. The spots on Main are metered. The place still has that nice chip hipster feel, though it now has a motorcycle theme. The coziest part is the back area, where there's now a bar area as well as some couches, and a corner area selling Les Motards (some running club?) merch. Staff are friendly. No complaints. Coffee is pretty decent. Also no complaints. I'd be back at some point.

Great service, delicious beverages and foods. Spacious and great ambiance. Working here for the day was chill, they have space and plugs available.

For some time now I wanted to stop by Aperture and try their coffee. Finally last Sunday I did. Found parking in front, which was awesome since main is so busy. But then, after paying for parking, I walked in and was disappointed. 11am on a Sunday and nothing to eat except for a few day old looking, wrapped in plastic (really not sure what they were). I could put aside my sadness about the snacks, but then I looked around the room and did not get a great vibe. Didn't feel they put much effort into making the guest experience memorable. Possibly a grab and go place? I hate to jump to conclusions, and I have eaten wrapped day old before, but LIFE is too short to spend one minute in a sub par coffee shop when Main Street has so many amazing ones to offer. So sorry, but had to pass on this one. Maybe its awesome and locals love it but I will never know.

Lovely, warm, jazzy little coffee bar open til 10pm most nights. They have such a great vibe, and such good high quality matcha. Would recommend the affogato flight to share with friends.

I meant to come here for a while because I love their location on W. Broadway. I ordered a flat white and was secretly hoping that I will get a nice latte art (like the nice ones they make at the other location) but no latte art, was kinda bummed. Lol This is a very spacious cafe and they even have extra seatings in the back which is perfect for studying. And if you like salted caramel, must try their cookie but it can be sticky to the teeth. Btw, still sad about the latte art, does anyone know how to determine which cafe makes them?

Condiments counter. Water glasses, water, and my favourite: clean spoons for stirring your coffee. (With a dirty spoons jar).

While looking for a quieter coffee place to spend a few hours studying (and striking out at other packed locations), my boyfriend and I wandered further and further along Main Street until we found this spot. I remember this location used to be a coffee shop by the name of The Grind. A quick glance in told us the place didn't seem very busy, and we decided to try it. For the few hours we were there, it was very quiet, with a steady stream of customers. On further reflection, it looks like a lot of people hunkering down to study chose to do so in the large room in the back, so the front area looked like a sparsely populated coffee shop (a plus for us). Overall, seems like a great place to study for an extended period of time: there are extension cords running from some of the outlets, free WIFI, and large communal tables. Coffee and food prices were reasonable, at most a little pricier. I think it's a good trade-off as nobody raised a fuss of anyone staying there for hours to study. I also appreciated the prices listed on the menus being GST inclusive. This place reminded me of your typical conscientious cafe. You can choose to eat in or take your order to go. The place is well equipped with mugs, spoons, plates, and glasses for water. It always makes me feel like I'm doing something great for the environment (ignoring the fact I did drive there). I chose to round out my coffee with a gluten free cookies. There were 7 choices, and I had a hard time deciding between Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Shortbread. My biggest appreciation: each jar had a tag that clearly listed out the ingredients for each cookie. Love it!

Wonderfully cozy coffee shop! Perfect for lounging, chatting, or getting some work done. They have table seating, couches, bench seating, and outlets for you to plug in. Decor is beautiful, and the entire venue is warm and welcoming. They got a cool biker theme going on around the space, and the items you can check out are pretty interesting and add some nice value to the experience. Staff are generally friendly, and the place is very well maintained and clean. Free Wifi for paying customers, and a single room washroom that's clean and well maintained. Make sure you check out the back area for additional seating. Would recommend their sandwiches. They also have a great selection of pastries and the classic drinks you can find at most coffee shops. Would recommend checking this place out!

Cozy atmosphere. A great place to study and catch up with friends! On the outside of the cafe, it doesn't look like there's much space until you walk to the back, where there's more tables. Another perk is that the shop closes fairly late, which is convenient for a 'hyggeligt' night-in with a warm drink and a book.

Small mocha and a peanut butter chocolate cookie

This is a really nice little location! I happened to be nearby waiting for a friend, so I grabbed a mocha and a cookie, and was not disappointed at all by either. The mocha struck a good balance between cacao and coffee, which is something a lot of places seem to get wrong, and the cookie was chewy and tasty without being too sweet. Simple pleasures, done well. The decor itself is really nice too, with a kind of hipster wooden feel that comes across as cozy and unique; and the staff were kind and prepared things quickly. I enjoyed it! I'd come back if I were looking for a nice coffee shop sit-down in the area.

Lots of outlet and seats available. (More seats at the back of the cafe) Almost like a library study area with a cafe

it's a cafe that is perfect for studying. It has lots of seats, long opening hours, outlets and free wifi. I visited here around 1pm, but there were already lots of students studying at the cafe. It sort of reminded me of the time during my undergrad... oh the coffee is good too.

Stumbled upon this cozy cafe in the heart of Main Street. I came here a few times with a friend to do some work, and now we are hooked by their delicious lattes and flat whites. They have a pretty good selection of freshly baked goods, breakfast and lunch items to choose from. Aperture also has ample of space for you to work and enjoy a great cup of coffee.

We tried a sampling of the small cakes, cupcakes and some items from the pastry case. They were ALL EXCELLENT. Fresh with light balance of flavors as well as a great ratio of sponge to frosting. The banana bread was as good as any home made I've ever had. We've been back twice since that visit, including to get birthday cakes, and Trafiq remains my favorite cake/cupcakes/treats in Vancouver. My recommendation is get there in the morning and have a(n) amazing schmecken and a latte. The (amazing) schnecknen was perfection plus and now as I write this at 4:00pm on a weekday in South Granville I really want a Trafiq Schnecken. Aside from everything we've ever ordered being excellent, the staff is great and they have a nice cozy dining area. It's also a great neighborhood for a stroll.

Kinako Cherry Cheese Swiss Roll Light sponge cake rolled with tangy cherry compote and smooth cream cheese, dusted with nutty roasted kinako soybean powder. Matcha-Berry Opera Cake Thin layers of matcha joconde sponge, berry ganache, and matcha buttercream stacked into a refined, jewel-toned slice. Black forest cupake and cookie and cream cupcake. Kinako Cherry cheese swill roll was good. Cherry compote dominated the cake flavor, paired with cream cheese well. Kinako powder was very subtle, it was not overly sweet, overall, it was very good. Strawberry jasmine tea was just ok. Strawberry and floral flavor were very subtle. Jasmine tea flavor dominated this drink. When I mixed with Whipped cream on top, it tasted better. Matcha berry opera cake was the highlight! Matcha buttercream and berry ganache paired so well, and surprisingly it was not overly sweet. What I always love about Trafiq's cakes is that their cake is not overly sweet, and have very sophisticated flavor. Black forest cupcake and cookie and cream cupcake's presentation was super cute! The cute rounded buttercream on the top of cupcake caught our eye. Cupcake tasted just ok, sponge was decent and cream was softer than I thought. I liked cookie and cream flavor better. Overall, highly recommend this place's dessert and cakes.

I felt a strange vibe when I entered and noticed that there were very few customers compared to the normally busy shop that I know at the beginning of the year - the last time I visited this Blenz location. With no greeting from the lady at the counter, I walked up to say we are ordering the coffee by donation. She gladly said sure and then asked what size. I said large, and then my guest ordered medium. I then asked where to put the donation, just as I saw the pink donation box. There was no opening to deposit my donation so I asked where to put in the money. The lady fiddled with the box and finally found a hole in the BACK. Although I thought this was unusual, I placed my donation in the box. Meanwhile, my guest noticed that the lady was punching in the drinks and had the credit card machine ready to charge us for the drinks!!!! I asked why she is charging us, and she explained that coffee by donation means we pay for the drinks and then the store donates the money collected. I said all these years (as I've been a loyal Blenz customer since its beginning), it has always been a free coffee and then I donate a sum of my choice. She said well every store is different. My guest and I were quite puzzled, and after looking at each other with a "hmm" look, I said forget it, and told her that she shouldn't be charging us. I almost felt like taking back the donation from the box, mostly fearing that she'll probably take that money for herself as well, but thought it will tacky and classless. So we left, went to another Blenz on Broadway, and there, we were served our coffees properly. With that, I left a bigger tip.
