Called in advanced to order because apparently they might sell out. Make sense because the bread in the banh mi was fresh, moist inside, slight thin crust on the outside. Got the lemongrass chicken and that was pretty tasty with plenty of meat, but only had hints of lemongrass. The rest of the toppings in the Banhmi were super tasty and was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back, maybe for another protein.

Great service, friendly and congenial. The sandwiches were pretty good. I liked all the veggies. I expected the pork to be grilled pieces of pork, but it was more spam-like. Additionally, I would have liked some spice, such as Sriracha mayo and spicy jalapeño slices. 2 tables on the sidewalk and a few chairs, so plan on taking it to go.

Didn't know there was a sancwich shop here. Who knows how many times I've driven by without noticing. Parking is available on the side streets, as well as metered spots in front on Cambie. The interior is pretty plain. There are 2 tables in front if one wants sit outside. No interior seating. Staff are friendly. I think it's a mom and pop. As of the time of writing, they have 6 types of sub and 4 types of salad rolls. I tried the #1 signature (dac biet). Pretty solid. Bread was crisp. Peppers were spicy. Meat was tasty. Size is a little bit smaller than the competition. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point. Recommended.

Their pâté was absolutely amazing (developed in house). It's a meat paste that's creamy and flavourful. Meat to bread ratio was also great. My Order: -Lemongrass Chicken ($6.50) was my favourite. The chicken itself was thick, marinated well and very tender. The baguette had a crispy shell, chewy texture, and fluffy insides. Good portion of pickled vegi's too. -Signature Banh Mi ($7) had a bunch of assorted Viet ham, cold cuts and vegis. It's the most popular order, but I personally enjoyed the lemongrass chicken more. The staff very friendly and enthusiastic, and the service is very quick. Street side parking available, they're currently only offering take-out.

I'll make this short and sweet the food here is a 10 out of 10 the service here is a 10 out of 10 every single thing I've purchased an order in 8 was fantastic I usually get their signature sandwich it's only $8.50 and it's worth every single penny the bread is Earth shatteringly crispy the center of the bread is soft And almost caught in candy like the fillings are premium ingredients the The P ATE is not porky it's creamy and dynamite and they can customize it however you want they also have a stamp cart to me for under $10 it is one of the best values in town cheap eats but not cheap quality 1 of my favorite places to have lunch and it's cheap enough you can treat a friend I've also had their broth here and it was absolutely so Delightful it tasted like my mom's homemade broth and that saying A lot I am a chef and if I'm feeling under the weather this broth will do you right

Was looking for a lunch spot along 49th and this popped up. Ample free parking on side streets and I think pay in front. Two small tables outside and a counter to order. Lots of pictures for people that don't know the cuisine. They have six different Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches and a variety of salad rolls plus a few other items in store. Order at the counter, they give you a number and bring out the order to you outside. I had the House Special called the Dac Biet with option to make it spicy which I did. It was delicious! And what a deal at less than $8! Was in around noon and there were some people waiting but it took only 5 minutes to get the order. Definitely will be back to try the other banh mi and salad rolls.

The absolute Best Banh Mi... at Bonjour Banh Mi! From just the right crunch, to how soft the bun is after the initial crunch, to how fresh the veggies are to how flavourful the pate is - what do they use to formulate this almost magical sauce??!! To top it all off, all their staff are courteous, friendly and quick!! This is a bit of a hidden gem as their shop is set back a bit from Cambie but y'all not gonna regret patronizing this cute and clean li'l shop. My favourite is their #2 grilled pork, but if I'm really hungry, I'd also add one of their light, refreshing salad rolls! YUMS!!

I went searching for a vegetarian sandwich and landed on this place. It was cute to pop in and grab a bite. I ordered the vegetarian roll and with the sauce it hit the spot!

There are several Banh Mi shops all over and most of them are very good. However, this place was recommended to try. Glad I tried this place. It a small store ran by a family who are super welcoming and strikes up conversations with patrons and makes you feel welcomed. No frills place, but very clean. One main menu board on top left as you enter. It's a small menu, but it allows them to be good at what they do. Safety, no more than two people in the store at once, wait outside and your order will be brought to you. I've been there twice in one week, first order was the meatball sub with extra peppers. Unfortunately I didn't get photos, but take my word for it...amazing. the meatball was warm, vegetables were crisp, picked radish and carrots not too pickled, but the star is their pate. It added so much flavour and they don't skimp with the pate. The only part I wanted more was the jalapeno pepper. I ordered extra, but didn't seem like there was extra. I'm not too fussed as the sandwich was amazing Second sandwich a few days later I order number one...deli meats. Again another outstanding sandwich, veggies crisp, meat fresh and flavourful, pickled veggies yum and this time I got the extra peppers. Again the pate was the star. The baguette both times couldn't have been better nicely toasted and fresh, soft in the middle...I made a mess in my car. Definitely worth a try!

You can't really see this small shop when driving past, but you will definitely remember the big taste and come back for more. Bread has a nice thin crunchy crust, and the fillings were generous. I've tried the lemongrass chicken sandwich, meatball sandwich, pork spring roll, and shrimp spring roll - all tastes great. There is a steady line up out the door at noon but it moves reasonably fast.

Where's the meat? Meatball banh mi

Delicious. But less two star because the fillings really didn't match up despite the yummy taste. Got half and half salad roll (1x shrimp and 1x lemongrass chicken). Both were delicious and refreshing. Onto the banh mi. I got their meatball banh mi and while I really enjoyed the overall flavours, I was sorely disappointed by the lack of fillings in the sandwich. Vegetables weren't enough, which causes the sandwich to lack "crunch" and that sweet sour pickled taste that's so characteristic of a banh mi. While the flavour of the meatball was absolutely delicious, sadly there just wasn't enough of it 3/5 overall. Would like to visit again sometime and give it another shot, especially since my old favourite, au petit cafe, has closed down!

I love this new Vietnamese Sandwich place right across from BC Liquor at Oakridge. There are not many options on their menu but all the Banh Mi we tried were delicious. The baguette itself was soft and not too hard (I find that some Banh Mi shops in town; their Baguettes are too hard). The filling was great and balanced with the pickled veggies and the meat. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

There are some small tables for two along with high tables. I ordered the 'hot' sandwich, chicken parm. I was expecting crispy chicken parm with yummy cheese and rich tomatoe sauce. Let's be honest, the star of this show is the bread! The baguette was warm, soft and so delicious. However, that's where the excitement stopped for me. The chicken with breading was soggy and the pesto and mozzarella was such a small amount, it felt like a soggy chicken sandwich with lots of bread. If they put more pesto dressing, more mozzarella cheese and more tomatoe sauce, I could have looked past the soggy chicken. All in all, I'm glad it tried it, the bread is amazing, and I'll come back to try a 'cold' sandwich to see if the other options are better!

The best part of the sandwich was the bread, they sourced it par baked from a bakery and finished it in store. it was amazing. For some reason (I expect cost) they stopped doing that and now get the bread from another of their locations. I would agree with some other reviews here, Mangia's is a bit expensive, but I and my friends were willing to pay for quality. The new bread they use is dry, tough and sub par, I tried to get used to it twice, but will not be going back. This review could have been one star but for the fact that the staff are amazing.

We walked over after getting off the Granville Island ferry at the Aquatic Centre stop. There wasn't a line, and our sandwiches came out quickly after ordering. - Reuben Sandwich -- tender meat, just the right amount of tang from the sauerkraut and cured meats, finished with their house-made mustard and a crunchy pickle on the side. - Lemon Rosemary Chicken (no cheese) -- light yet filling; the greens added freshness, avocado gave it the perfect moistness, and the light jalapeño kick tied it all together. - Garlic Bread -- buttery, garlicky, and crisp; the texture fell perfectly between a Vietnamese baguette and a ciabatta roll -- ideal snack for the walk. Overall, Number E is a charming deli serving high-quality sandwiches on their own freshly baked Tuscan bread. They also offer pastries, coffee, and other drinks.
