Prompt and professional service for the estimate. However they came in about $900 higher than estimates from other companies for the same job, so I have to go elsewhere. We were referred to A.P.E.S. by our home warranty. Our hot water heater was leaking a nice amount of water Saturday morning. A.P.E.S. showed up Saturday afternoon. I had them come out and replace some filters all was great then another issue had them come to replace a cartridge in the handle of my master shower. I was not home just my wife was home so they came and told her it would be $385 charge to do the work. I know for a fact the cartridge is $21 at Home Depot and they try to take advantage of my wife. Called another plumber Pruitt Plumbing came following day and replace for $149 including the cartridge and the labor took him 20 minutes. They sent someone out who made me very uncomfortable and I decided to ask for a 2nd estimate. APES was recommended and when Joe came out that afternoon he inspired my confidence and trust. The cold water to our washer was suddenly blocked. Our handyman thought we'd have to cut into the wall to find the problem. I called Ralph at like 4:55pm and he sent Daquan over the next morning. I got a text reminder and Daquan kept me updated when he would be headed our way. He found the problem was actually a seized valve, so he replaced the valve with quality hardware, and cleaned up the mickey mouse pipe job that was already there. Daquan was professional and personable. He explained the repair to me and communicated very concisely with my landlord and answered all his questions. It took him less time to do the job than it did to explain what he was going to do. And he tested everything with us so we knew both the valve and the washer were working. Great experience. My dryer stopped producing heat on February 6. An APES repair man showed up promptly. He determined a part needed to be ordered. It would take 2 weeks! Two weeks??? So I waited....and waited....and waited....and called, called again and again. No part. So I called another appliance repair company in the area. I inquired about the part and if there was ever a problem getting it. They told me it is a very common part and in fact they had one on their truck and could be out to fix my dryer the same day. Isn't that interesting? Besides that, they guy they sent out scratched his head before he figured out how to get the front of the dryer off. Not inspiring confidence. Early this morning, we noticed that the entire house plumbing did not drain. We Just moved in a few days ago. That said Ralph went the extra mile and dispatched Cody quickly to address the issue. Cody found the issue right away, that is backup between street sewer and house. Apparently house plastic sewer lines (from house to sewer) can dry out if not used and can back up once use begins. I took advantage of APES' December hvac "tune up" for $19 and was very pleased. The scheduler got me service within a couple of days, giving me a time slot of 2-6 pm. Adam showed up right on the dot of 2 pm. He was efficient and polite, masked, and explained due to Covid-19 precautions he would not enter the house--I just had to crank up the temp to get the system running while he inspected it. When he came down (roof unit), he had photos, which he reviewed with me, showing just what he'd done to tighten things up. No up-sell beyond a brief mention of service plans available. Many companies we contacted would not give us the time of day, often declining to take our business because it wasn't an emergency.
