While…read morethe cause of my leak seems to be resolved (at least for now) it did bother me that I took the time to ask several times with the dispatcher "Taneea"(sp) and she said there was no fee to diagnose and I kept asking are you sure because in order to see where the leak is coming from my bathroom upstairs from the shower and where it settling we need to look at the pipes underneath where the drywall is and that involves cutting the ceiling drywall. And I asked her again several times if there's any charge for leak tracing or anything she was leaving out just to look and see before repairing and she said no, there's no diagnostic charge. They get here and tell me it's gonna be $125 just to cut the drywall and I just don't understand how there can be such a disparity between what I verified by phone and what I was being told now. And even if I give them the benefit of the doubt that the dispatcher was mistaken (though that's something very strange for a dispatcher who works for and represents a company to say, if not true) the fact that she did tell me that clearly, you would think to keep a customer they would stand by their own word, so not a great first impression. I still paid them $455 to change the cartridge in my shower, but they would not take five or ten minutes to cut up two 6"x6" holes in the drywall and look inside to see if there's any other extensive damage or leaking. I may just leave it for now and keep an eye for any signs of staining or moisture rather than deal with drywall repair. I still will inspect around the electrical where the ceiling fan canopy is and remove it from the ceiling to see if there's any water damage to the fan and light fixture or if it can be salvaged and still works once all is dry and I can restore power to the room. But they refused to look for any signs below to ensure there were no other signs of a leak unless I paid more. Another thing is with a large hole behind the shower faucet escutcheon where the leak occurred what's to keep another cartridge from failing and leaking right down into the room below and getting into the electrical and drywall and ruining another ceiling fan? I wish they'd have taken the time to tell me how to seal off that wall behind the faucet handle or given me suggestions but they just kind of did their job and left. They didn't offer me any advice or tips to prevent this again or set my mind at ease, and taking the time to do that would have made me feel more "taken care of" and built a rapport as a new customer. They just wanted to do the job I asked and go. So while I have no other complaints so far, they didn't go the extra mile or make me feel reassured at all for such a serious issue. It was just a "job" to cross of their list and not spend a second longer than necessary to show, discuss or reassure.

The main project I needed him to do he said it would take him 2 day 16hr to complete at 95 an hour. To me that seemed a bit odd, but I needed the work done so I scheduled with him. I decided to have 2 other licensed contractors come out for quotes for the exact same projects and ultimately had the project done by a different contractor and it took 1 person 4 hours to do what he said would take 16hrs to do. So woman reading this review beware, seems to me he was really trying to take advantage of me oh and then he says at the end he charges $15 trip changes. I don't know if he was truly capable of doing job or not what I do know is that he was definitely trying to overcharge me. He also never took any measurements he didn't have a notepad to write down any of the projects that I wanted completed. Maybe he's great at doing small projects that don't require much. But I am very glad that I decided to get more quotes. Because if I would have went with him I would have paid four times as much for him to do the work.

We ultimately paid way too much for a basic 50 gallon hot water heater swap (bundled price of almost $3000). I was out of town and my wife was busy with work when this happened. We had used Bumble Bee Plumbing in the past and trusted them. That trust has been broken and will never return. My wife left a Google review. There was a response posted as "response from the owner" which left a phone number of 602-813-0298 to call so we could speak with their "manager" to address our concerns. I tried to call that number twice...it's been disconnected! Do your research, get multiple bids and verify that the company you are calling is truly LOCALLY OWNED and has not been rolled up under some private equity structure. We have all seen countless stories about how private equity could care less about the customer and how they leave a trail of destruction and debt in the end. It's largely about profits, margins and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). This is the valuation metric that's referenced (with a multiple applied) when they sell. In most cases, that's ultimately ALL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS CARE ABOUT! It's a sad yet not surprising story on the fleecing of America! All I can say about Bumble Bee Plumbing is my experience was very different this time and it appears that since my last time using them, private equity has gotten involved. I'll let you draw your own conclusions! Would love to see a customer advocacy/awareness story on one of the local news affiliates about how private equity has consolidated so many previously locally owned trade businesses (plumbing, HVAC, electrical). This might be a good starting point for that type of story.

Horrible company who poisoned my family (manganese) because they didn't flush the system and install properly. After calling poison control, they figured out it was the water system (we had black stains in our toilets). My dog, children and myself had to get blood work done to prove this was in our system. It was terrifying. The company response? They bought a refrigerator filter for our 3 month old brand new fridge, and flushed the system that should have been done in the first place. We hired this company after their water heater broke after just one year. The did not back up the warranty claiming our pipes were old, and instead sold us a $7000 water heater and new water system they had to install. We were without water for 9 full days while they did this install, we were told it would take 2 days max. During the install, they knocked one of my garage storage nearly trapping my husband, and breaking our entire commercial snack bar equipment, as well as smashing an antique doll house passed down from my family. Taking zero accountability. My kids had to live at my parents while this work was being done, we had no compensation for the hotels we had to stay in for showers, restrooms and cooking. We received NO money off of the $7000 purchase price, and the horror continued for weeks after we were diagnosed with this poisoning. It gets worse.....3 months after this installation, the shotty work caused a leak in our garage. the company sent a restoration company to cut out our drywall, and it has now been 3 weeks an our water is disconnected, no dry wall replaced, and no communication in when this will be repaired. Oh, and still no refund or reimbursement for this nightmare. read more

I first used Deer Valley Plumbing in 2013 to replace leaking front and backyard hose bibs and install two bathroom faucets, and I was very, very happy with both the work and the hourly-based cost. Then in 2014, after an air conditioning tune-up performed by a different company, I got talked into signing up for a $14/month a/c - and plumbing - "service club" with this other company. Big mistake. Earlier this month (May 2015) I bought a new kitchen faucet and this other company quoted me a "club" price for removing my old faucet/installing the new one and replacing the two water supply line valves: $625 - which they said they'd knock down to $425. Appalled, I called Deer Valley Plumbing, and lo and behold, I got the faucet and supply line valves done for a grand total of $204. Solid plumbers both times from DV Plumbing, pleasant, informative, and, no up-selling nonsense/pressure. ps I quit the other company's "club". Live and learn! read more

A hot water line ruptured underneath the kitchen. I had two quotes one from Christian Brothers for 2150 dollars after a service contract i have with them and another with a different company for $1500. You all did the job for 710 dollars and were quick, clean, efficient, honest, friendly, and your tech took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do in non plumber terms. Excellent!! At my son's condo the hot water heater pooped out just as the temperatures dropped lower than a ants behind, my son who just came in from the Navy and his wife had to take luke warm to cold showers cause that's what it was doing, the water started out luke warm then turned to icy cold water.....brrrrrrr. I called Deer Valley Plumbing for help for a leak under the kitchen sink after we were unable to fix it ourselves. They came within a day and scoped out the problem. They put in a camera in all the lines and figured out what needed to do. They worked up an estimate and offered financing for which I agreed. It took a day and a half which was wonderful. The plumber, David, was extremely professional and knowledgeable. And would call his manager to keep him updated. He had a helper the next day and was great. They completed everything that was required and added a few things that they noticed should be done, always keeping me informed. I had called 3 other plumbing companies and wasted my time. I should have called Deer Valley Plumbing first. The previous plumbers charged a trip charge, it would be waived if I allowed them to work in my home (what's that about?) They said there One Price System saves me money. To me, it made them money. They all said the job would be done for over $1,000, depending on what else they found or needed, like backfilling a hole they dug. Deer Valley arrived, diagnosed the problem and fixed it properly. The total was just over $200.00. Now, that saves me money! Just saying you'll save money does not mean you will save money. The tech was knowledgable, helpfull and respected my property. We had the main water line to our house fail over the holiday. A technician from Deer Valley Plumbers (JC) came out and quickly gave me a quote on that and another item we needed. The quote was better than I had hoped for on both items as they are pretty major. I had just lost someone very close to me the previous week and with unknown medical expenses and a lot of extra stress this repair was the last thing we needed. Had a toilet that wouldn't stop running at one of my rental properties and didn't have the time to fix it myself. --annoying, but not exactly a national emergency. Called Deer Valley Plumbing, and they hit me with a quote for $3,500 to replace the toilet parts. Just the innards. Not gold. Not smart-tech. Not blessed by a priest. Just standard toilet guts. Luckily, I got a second opinion. Another plumber came out, knocked it out in 15 minutes, charged me $185, and didn't try to retire off my bathroom. He diagnosed problem immediately, suggested I contact management since it appeared that condo bathroom leak originated in unit above me Cleared bathroom sink slow drain. Wonderful Job done! Luis replaced our, original builder's grade three separate bath fixtures with new upgraded fixtures and repaired two drain leaks in our two story home and this was without breaking the bank. After dealing with another prominent plumbing company for approximately 2 years and having a ton of problems, the last was a tank less water heater being installed wrong. I was lucky to find Deer Valley Plumbing. This company was highly recommened by a manufactor. I was so pleasantly suprised to see how professional they were. The plumber adjusted a part in the toilet tank and it seemed to fix the problem. However the problem was intermittent and thus required a new part. The part was replaced and now the toilet works as it should. The plumber JC did a great job and I will request that Deer Valley send him to make any repairs that I may need in the future. I had a faulty pressure reducing valve that was putting out 100psi constant pressure. It blew out my fridge and irrigation and was causing faucets and toilets to drip. The PRV valve was not serviceable due to DR Horton damaging it prior to installing it, so it had to be replaced. They had same day service. Completely unreasonable for something so simple. When we declined, he said he could show us how to do it ourselves afterward but only if we hired them first. So we ended up paying the $49 service fee just for that experience. He did however suggest watching YouTube videos and said he couldn't give information away for free. So, I looked up a few YouTube videos and fixed both issues myself in under 10 minutes. It was incredibly easy, which makes their pricing even more outrageous. I would not recommend this company. There are plenty of honest plumbers out there who charge fairly and actually try to help their customers. We had to pay $49 for this shite service.

My situation involved replacing a Rheem Hybrid Water Heater that failed during year 5, of that under a 10 year warranty. Rheem agreed to replace this without charge, although I had to pay Labor. I attempted to deal with Local Plumbers, Carefree/North Scottsdale, but to no avail. The usual nonsense, not returning calls, or showing up. I then remembered hearing of West Coast on KJAZZ/KBAQ, and called. Everything from that initial call, to the completion was perfect. The interesting part was that the Tech, Logan, was also able to fix a water leak from a pipe at my pool. The only 'hiccup' was with the Rheem Distributor, and fortunately, John, Owner of West Coast, was able to, in a creative manner, work that out. I will soon call this Firm to affect Annual HVAC Service.
