Out of every moped shop I've been to I like Apex the most, but I haven't had 100% fixes when it comes to my moped, I'll bring it in to get something fixed only to get it back with some other problem. I initially brought my moped in to fix my brake handle and my throttle as well as my electric start. Brake and the throttle was fixed, but my electric start was worse than when I initially brought it in, I brought it in a second time and they couldn't find out what was wrong with the starter. I just recently brought it in to do standard maintenance and when I got the moped back my starter was fixed, but I could barely get up my driveway when before my moped would fly up the driveway. They have great service and fix things quickly but always find something else needs to be fixed and it has me feeling very frustrated because I keep having to bring it in every other week and also because I like apex and I don't want to find another moped shop. Thank you APEX for not charging me $25 to start my moped for me My moped wouldn't start after several weeks of not riding it, so I walked it to APEX yesterday! The mechanic started it in a jiffy and ran it through full throttle. He said "$25." I was glad to pay $25 (I don't know how much this stuff costs) and everyone around us laughed bc I was actually looking for my money's. He said "I'm not gonna charge you for starting your moped!" Just found out that these guys set up shop in a new location which is closer to where I live. I used to go to the one on Kalakaua but that one is always busy. The main mechanic who works on my mopeds is named Rylan and told me about this new location and he now runs this shop. He's not only a great salesman, but he knows how to fix your moped. I just took my moped in cause it was making a weird sound, so I took it into their new shop and sure enough Rylan was there. He troubleshooted it and said I had build up in my carb and shouldn't take long to clean out and also recommended I change out the spark plug just in case, which wasn't that much more. Overall, I would recommend this place to buy and fix your moped. Service is top notch. read more

Bought my moped from Apex back in 2020. They were super nice and welcoming. My friend had gone with me and they volunteered their services just to take a look at her moped when mine was getting an oil change. I recently took my moped in to be repaired since it was found after being stolen. They were so nice and sympathetic, they even let me use their loaner moped while mine is being fixed. I have bought two mopeds from two different shops since being on Oahu and Apex is by far my favorite. Super welcoming, pleasant staff. Very unprofessional and my scooter went in with zero problems just an oil change and came out not being able to increase and start without a problem. They said since I drove off the lot it was fine, however after two hours of driving I let them know that there was a problem. After I took my bike to another place I saw that they had used an old starter plug and cut the vacuum tube, however didn't close it off. Stole my money and refused to let me speak to the owner. read more

I bought my moped from Apex Motorsports spring of 2013. I still have it & it has over 5k miles on it and it's still running strong. I purchased it from the friendly & knowledgeable gentlemen here and listened to their advice on how to maintain it and it's worth it. I pay $5 once every 2wks to fill up. I get an oil change once every 1k miles. They check out the entire moped every time I take it in for oil change. I've replaced the battery twice & fuel lines once due to normal wear & tear. It's also not a fancy moped that's desirable from thieves. It does it's job and gets me from point A to B & every where else I wanna go too. I get all my services done here at apex Motorsports. I do suggest to call and make an appointment because they are usually pretty busy. Parking is way cheaper for me because I work in Waikiki. It's also way easier to find parking everywhere else I go. Safety wise, I suggest u be very alert at all times and DO NOT listen to music while riding & wear some kind of protective eye wear. I wear reg sun glasses in the day & clear $20 lens at night. That's actually the law, to wear protective eye wear. It's not the law to wear a helmet, but I do suggest it. A full faced helmet for motorcycles not for bicycle! I definitely recommend Apex Motorsports for your moped needs & moped service!!! read more

I advise to everyone don't buy anything from these guys u will get ripped off I purchased a 100 cc bore kit n I felt no difference so I went back there n they saI'd that they will give it a service n check If the belt good n stuff well idk what they really did because u can't go back there n see what they doing but to do all the extra work they so call did they charge me for a oil change the belt n the weights $167 n I felt a little bit difference but not that much so total cost for a 100 cc costed me $720 n even now I barely can feel like thers a a 100 cc to me feels like it's a 8cc I think they just change thl ok jk I'm u chunk. lol so funny the last time I was over there one of the employees was crying about getting ripped off $10 shit try getting ripped of $700 fuck I feel so sick about getting my upgrade over there I no even like ride moped anymore plus they don't do safety checks that should of ring a bell they gotta go take there moped for safety check at another moped shop because they cannot be trusted I guess idk but that's fucked up so take my advice go buy your moped somewhere else these guys they are not certified dealers I think wen I bought my moped brand new I could go 35-40 mph then I did the upgrade 100cc bore kit change the belts the weights speent $720 n now the bike can go a whopping $40 mph lol thats so fucked up I hope Karma will get these assholes read more

Tuesday: 7/6/21 This review is a somewhat late because Ive been busy at work...I basically needed to find a new moped because my Yamaha Razz finally died on me after riding it for 18 years...I do have a Arnada too which is my toy..but I needed a commute moped to go to and from work...my decision came to be a Pronto if I needed to buy a 4stroke....so I came in on the Saturday before the date above and made a preorder for my moped...because of the COVID they only build the mopeds by order now...Danny had told me that it would be ready by Tuesday and sure enough it was!!!....Danny is the owner along with his brother who is on the Waipahu side...I was very satisfied with the proccess of buying my Pronto moped on that Tuesday...their service was very effecient and pretty quick...it probably wouldve been faster if they werent so busy which is good thing...when I came to pick up the moped Danny was already busy helping someone else to purchasing a new moped, but once I got to my turn...everything was done quickly...altho I didnt need it, they also give you a small briefing of how the moped works and all the switches and stuff...unfortunately I cant review about the service side because I decided to do my own maintenance since I do know how to work on mopeds....I do plan on relying on Danny if I have any questions tho about the Pronto since he knows that moped best or if need parts for the ped...overall if you're looking for a brand new moped with a good price and service, go see Danny!!!...he doesnt give any bullshit.....Danny has 3 different selection of mopeds... Yelp won't let me do 10 stars but Danny at Apex is the guy to see for your scooter sales and/or service. I dropped off my scooter to get my normal maintenance and get a rack installed. They got it done and ready super fast. So this is where he takes his customer service game to next level. The rack needed a new framing deal under the cowl. I came back once it was done, assuming I had a cost because the scooter is mine, the rack was Danny's. He thought for a second and said "We got ya all set." I have no idea how much time or work went into the incredibly solid new version Danny and his guys hooked me up with, but that's some noteworthy customer service. I have only dealt with Apex for my little scooter and he always gets it running perfectly, and so fast. I also think his prices are incredibly fair and a great value for whoever does business with Apex. He's got some cool looking racer-style scooters out there too. Thank you APEX for not charging me to tighten the brake cable. I had come in to check if the used Islander moped I bought had a similar brake to the brand-new ones. I was interested in upgrading to buy a brand-new one but was worried about my brakes (very loose) before putting it up for sale. I told the owner (Danny) that I had just paid to replace the brake pads a few weeks ago. He took a look, drove it around, then literally just tightened this cable thing (no idea what it was) and BOOM - it was back to new. Then, on top of that, as if that wasn't enough - he noticed that my lightbulb on my moped needed to be changed. He told me that the reason by regular lights wouldn't work (only the high beams) is because the bulb needed to be changed. I thought it was an on/off for lights. Turns out, it's high beams and regular. I offered to pay and he wouldn't take anything! He told me he wasn't going to charge me for something so small like that. THANK YOU!! I had also asked if he bought used mopeds. He flat out told me that I would get a better price if I sold it privately (instead of to a moped shop). Needless to say, when I sell my current used moped and upgrade to the new Islander, I am without a doubt coming back to this shop. Great service! ****EDIT: I went back to the shop a 2nd time because I thought something was wrong with the steering. The wrap around the handlebars looked terrible. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to buy direct from a moped shop - the warranty! I dropped it off and was told I would probably get a call in an hour when it was complete, easy. And literally a few minutes later got a call back. Turns out, the ZIP TIE had come off and thats what caused everything to slip. I remember noticing zip ties before. And with that simple fix, it was all sorted. Best customer service...EVER. read more

I called Apex Mopeds to have my moped picked up for repair because I don't own a truck to take it down there myself. The gentleman on the phone asked what was wrong with it and I explained that it was leaking fuel and wouldn't start. He suggested that I check the fuel line to see if it had come off, very simple. I checked and there was a small tear near the end of the hose so I just snipped the end of the hose off and reconnected it. So easy! I called the gentleman back to thank him for saving me a $75 pick up charge (I live pretty far from there) plus parts and labor! He could have easily just scheduled the pick up and repaired my moped which I would have been very happy with but he went above and beyond to save me money. This is the right way to do business. Went there to replace the grips on my moped. It had been replaced previously somewhere else and wasn't happy with them. Bought a new set and they said they could install them. Great! Waited while it was being changed, and when it was done, guy at the counter said it was done. Great! Paid for the grips and install and went on my way. Looked at it good when I got home and the grip wasn't on the throttle side wasn't on all the way and I could feel the end folding because it wasn't on all the way. Went back and talked with the person who installed it and said it doesn't look right and felt even worse. He said, "that was the best I could do". I didn't realize I was paying for the best I could do. No explanation why when I picked up my moped or anything. I asked if there was something else he could do to fix it correctly, and all I got was "I'm not sure" and walked out. The whole time the owner was standing there and didn't say a word even though he knew I was a little upset and disappointed. I just left. I don't usually leave negative comments, but, this was pretty bad. read more

Just bought our moped from here. We looked around at many different shops. This wasn't the cheapest option we found but it seemed like the best moped for the cheapest price. The cheaper moped at another location looked like it was a couple hundred dollars cheaper but it was only 50 dollars cheaper. So we went with apex because for just 50 dollars more it seemed like the product was much better Aside from the moped itself, the customer service we received was fantastic! Everyone was very nice and very helpful and informative. This was the first moped we ever bought so we knew nothing about them. They answered all of our questions and gave us straight answers about other mopeds from their competitors. Overall completely satisfied and highly recommend buying your moped from Apex! read more
