Purchased a pronto at this shop yesterday for my son. Owner was straight forward about the sale. However, his mechanic was where the magic began. Brosenan was his name. A younger gentleman that was so eager to help answer every question for me and my son. Took the time to explain the bike we purchased and its features. He was passionate during the process and it never once felt like we were a nuisance to him. And my dumbass forgot to tip him smh. But we will be back for my son's maintenance so I'll have the opportunity to do so. Back in the 80's when I rode mopeds to do my paper route, the bikes I had were not as technologically advanced like these bikes sold today. And at the same price point too! Took my 4 stroke moped to several shops, with no success. Paid an arm and a leg for no service. Only for my moped to break down again & again. Moped doctors were the worst, can't say they didn't try, paid 300 dollars for them to pick up my moped claimed that it was fix then it broke down again. They had no answers. Seen apex motor-sports open up, gave them a call right away & spoke to Rylan he was very helpful over the phone.. Called on several occasions finally got a chance to bring in my moped and not even 15 mins he was able to open up my moped and figure out what the problem was.. Ran into the store just as they were opening, needed a moped and had to get to work in 15 minutes. The guy (didn't catch his name) was really helpful, and even though they were technically sold out, he was able to magically juggle the inventory with their other location and get me registered, trained, and on my way to work on-time on my new moped. Called and asked if they had a specific color moped in stock. They said "yeah!" We asked if they could deliver to Waikiki since that's where we live. They said that they could and that the delivery would be $35. We agreed and said we would drive to Pearl City to check out the moped to make sure it as the color we wanted and that it wasn't scuffed and up to par. Get to Apex Motorsport in Pearl City and the guy doesn't have the specific color he said he had on the phone. All he said was yea shoots my brother took em. Right then I knew he was lying because I had already been to the Apex Motorsports in Honolulu (closer to where we live)and they were out of that color. We wasted gas and all he said was sorry that it was his mistake. Bad service I will NEVER recommended you guys to any friends or family. My work hours the same as this shops open hours. My moped has been broken for a couple weeks and im just trying hard to make it here but never can. My fiance we live together, and i asked her to take the moped to the shop for me. And they turned her away because shes not the owner (what if i bought a broken moped that needs repair and i didnt register the moped yet then you will turn me away still until i get it registered? What a dumb and made up policy) so i called them asking for martin because i been going here for many years since at the top of the hill. The guy who answered said martin isnt there and hes the manager. After telling why i cant go (because of my work) he asks me why i cant come in. I told him i just told you the answer, because i work. And he says im not a man because she brought the moped to fix. I guess that makes me not a man to ask my fiance to do something for me while at work. Maybe this guy does all the work and laundry and other errands because hes a man. This is the manager you hired? Is to insult everyone that has a different view as him? So we got a used moped one month ago from a college student who was leaving the island, after three days the moped broke down, we live in north shore so is no shops or mechanics around our area, I googled it and came across apex, called them and ask questions about how to fixed, prices and parts got an estimated over the phone took it Saturday afternoon got it back morning Monday with all new parts and is running great!! So happy with the service level is top notch without being overly pricey. We are really grateful for the costumer support. I think is one the best places in the island to fixed your moped! We bought a pronto from Markus at the pearl city location, when we got there the store was clean and the people there were friendly and knowledgeable. The moped worked really good and got me from waipio to Waikiki daily with no problems. Had to adjust the brakes a little and they did it free of charge no problems. Wow where to start. I'm am so displeased with this place. This is the cheapest place in town and there is a reason for that. The company is cheap and the bikes are cheap. First the employees kindly suggested we head to north shore. I thought it sounded good until half way on the drive my girlfriends moped broke down. We were on a hill in the middle of traffic. Being new to the area we called and asked what to do. They said I had to bring it to some place where I could give them an address. So a mile walk later. after I busted my ass dragging that thing up and down hills. We found a little Hawaiian bbq place and call again. They guy said it should be a half hour for someone to come out there. Long story short. We waited four hours in this sketchy little village for a replace moped. For them to drop off an older model moped. It could barely go over 30 without the whole bike shaking. And the mirror was smashed to shit. We were both exhausted after the incident. When we returned the bikes I asked if I would be reimbursed for the half day waisted because of their bikes. Mind you I'm on vacation with only a limited time on the island. They refused and said it was because of traffic. Which was a fucking joke. When we drove back following the truck there was no traffic. You get what you pay for with this place. You pay cheap, you get a cheap moped, and cheap customer service. Will not recommend. And would strongly advise to spend the extra 20 bucks and get a better moped than this shit place. Before I would go all the way into town. Kaimuki side to have Glenn and the guys there at Glenns Cycling take care of my ped (if you're closer to town I'd recommend there shop) but since there so far from where I live, Aiea. I had to find a shop that was closer. Which ended me up at daMotorSports moped shop there on Kam Highway. I didn't like the way the lady did business there. Either trying to up sale me or have me buy something I didn't need for my ped. Things I've seen cheaper at other shops, and if I tried to negotiate seems like she'd get defensive and try to push me out the shop lol! No wonder why the place looks empty half the time I drive by. The young boy there who's her mechanic is great though but not enough to keep me coming back.So I looked for another shop in the area and came across Apex. Today I brought my DD to Apex for my regular thousand mile tune up, and the guy there was gracious enough to take it in asap. Which didn't take longer then 10mins. Shoots he was even cool enough to address others concerns I had about my ped, and gave me his extra bottle of synthetic oil. Should've asked for his name and tipped him but I was in a rush and forgot. Asian guy though with colored eyes? Super cool. After the quick tune up though I could definitely feel the diffrence in performance. Five stars all day for these guys. read more
