The owner is horrible. Third experience and all were rough with terrible etiquette. Went for a safety check. Moped was bought new 2024 with moped direct Waikiki. I did not altered anything on the bike. She was giving me a hard time about passing safety check because she said something about a LED light cannot be used in front light and the front bottom dim light should start when you turn on the moped and the blinkers are supposed to be up by the hand brakes, but this is the way the moped was made, and it was bought new. She goes I'll pass you this time? I have heard from others she will not pass apex bikes and appears to be discriminatory against certain mopeds. Highly not recommended to use this business ever again or even to buy a bike. read more

I spoke with a woman that was totally useless. Couldn't even give me a price range of what they had available for 50cc mopeds. No help at all. She just said to come in and look. No thanks. She told us to bring back a moped along with all the paperwork that she insisted that she couldn't fix that we purchased from her. We bought another moped since we needed transportation right away. We told her we were going to another mechanic to see if it could be fixed. It couldn't. If I could give a negative zero stars I would. Moter Sport was the only moped repair shop that I knew of in Pearl City so I always went to see Joy, who is the owner of this business. I was always an appreciative customer. I ended up buying a bike from Apex when they were still located in Aiea due to a blow out sale. Then Apex moved to Pearl City right next to Moter Sports. I would bounce between the 2 stores depending on who was available. Well now Joy is punishing me by refusing to service my bike due to the fact that she feels betrayed that I use Apex too and not just her store. She knows that Apex doesn't do safety checks and the only other shops are down town. This is horrible business!!! So your saying just because I shop at Walmart...I can't shop at Target?!?!? She says "I have a right to refuse service!!" Yes, you do, but just because I went to a different place because your mechanic was not available at the time!!! I can not believe that someone could be so bitter, to refuse service to a customer who has done nothing wrong. Had a wonderful experience, went in for maintenance and oil check, they worked on my moped and had it done really quick, the mechanic was awesome, another time I came in to get a safety check, and the lady went the extra mile to help me get my expired moped registration ASAP. She took the time to help me go to the bike registration in town rather then making an appoint at the dmv. She drew a map and everything, so sweet! read more

I do not recommend this place. Came in to fix a tire and when I left the lot it broke down on me. Then when I came back to get it fix AGAIN they had the nerve to tell me that I switched the tire and put a already popped one on so I can get a free tire.. after telling them no I did not do that then they want to make up other excuses so they don't have to fix the tire. This place is amazing. I went in to do the regular maintanance for my moped, and the korean lady, who i believe is the owner, was very kind and helpful. This was my first maintanance check and I don't really know a lot about my moped, and she talked with me on what to do and what not to do to keep it running good. She even asked me if I like how powerful it is and recommended me to upgrade my engine from the 50cc to the 80cc so I don't blow the engine. I really enjoyed this place and will definately come back and recommend it to friends! read more

This is a mixed bag for me. I bought a moped here a while back and it worked really well. I thought that moped was well-worth it. I reccomended this place to my sister. My sister bought a moped from here about a week ago and she had problems right from the start. She and I went down there, with her driving my car, and me driving the moped. It was a hassle going down there, because the moped had trouble starting. Also, the moped would die whenever it was idle. This from a brand new moped that was only a week old! I had to restart the moped more than 10 times to get from Honolulu to Pearl City. On the plus side, they fixed the moped for free. They said it was a problem with the starter and with the wiring. It took them about one to two days to fix it. Now the moped runs really good. read more

Called and spoke with "JOY" who is owners wife or something. She sounded like a typical car salesmen. "Come in... Just come in..." Im asking you valid questions lady and I don't want to come in if you can't answer them! What type of mopeds do you sell? what is your asking price?.... Every single other place answered my questions. Against your policy? She kinda reminds me of scandalous swap meet sellers. Not all swap meet sellers are this rude though. Whatever, i dont live very far so Ill come in. Don't got nothing else to do and I like to inform people here on yelp whom to stay away from. Came in and was introduced to john. That guy is a joke! He thinks he is a comedian. He doesn't answer my questions. Instead he tries to avoid them. If you ever meet John you will know what im talking about. I feel sorry for anyone who is easily swayed and soft spoken cuz if you are then this guy will take advantage of you. So I pick a moped and ask to sample it. He gives me a moped and I take it for a quick spin. He looks very nervous. hahaha. I come back and he tells me its 1195 on sale. Ok that seems pretty reasonable since its a unrestricted one. Unrestricted meaning that he changed some parts around to make it faster... Just so I can get a monetary summary I ask for him to write down the total cost... out the door. He writes down $1700! U jus told me 1195. WTH. So basically he shows me the 1195 priced moped and then lets me drive the 1700 priced moped. TYpical Typical Typical car salesmen ladies and gentlemen. And that mean RED FLAG all over it. He then tries to tell me $60 for maintenance! $60!!!!!! thats twice as much as my car! Wholly moly! Im better off buying a second hand car. This guy is an up-seller up-seller up-seller. He doesn't care whats best for you. Just wants to get the sales sales sales! Because of your bad phone customer service and because you seem to think you can take advantage of me and potentially other riders you my friend are receiving negative -5 stars. This place is a joke. Went in twice and will never go back. Looking for parts to rebuild the motor on a moped that was given to me by a friend and she had no clue what i was asking for. Decided to just leave and go to apex motorsports not to far away. Second time cause i was in the area looking for a cone filter for the same moped. She tried to sell me a k&n filter for 70$, which is more than the k&n filter in my truck. She then said she had a knock off the supposedly fit my carb for 20$. After trying to confirm the size and getting a stupid look from the lady i decided to buy it since i was already there only to get home to find it was way to small. Its unbelievable how clueless she was about the products she sells. From now on i will be giving my buisness to apex motorsports and quik fix because they actually know about the products and services they offer read more

I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but the mechanic burned me twice and it cost me a lot of money to fix. I took my moped in for regular maintenance but for some reason, immediately after leaving the shop I started having issues with my moped staying on while in idle. On the way back to the shop I heard a pop and lost power. Fortunately, the shop sent a truck out to pick up my moped and bring it back to the shop. The mechanic fixed it again with the addition of paying for a new engine belt. After a few days, I was riding from work I heard a pop again and lost power again. This was frustrating so I rented a UHaul truck and took my moped to another moped repair shop. To my surprise, I found out that the mechanic stripped the threads while inserting the spark plug and it popped out causing the loss of power. Improper adjustments was another issue that caused my moped problem. I do not like writing negative reviews, but this was just the last straw. read more

These guys are jokers. I over paid for a moped here and I've had nothing but problems. First the fuel line comes off and I stuck pushing the moped off the road. I try to call them and I get no answer. I tried to contact them for 3 day with no answer an no return phone call for my message. Ive had this moped for 3 months and it doesn't even have 100 miles on it cuz there always something wrong with it. Now the battery wont hold a charge. I bought a moped from here and 4 years later it's still running great! Lots of upgrades available and great service shop. The engines are great but the bodies are pretty flimsy plastic, I had mine for a month before the side panels started to come off but the dealer made some quick fixes free of charge. Be careful because the lady is a fast talker and will try to sell you the world, just go in knowing what you want. read more

I'm not sure yet on this one...bought a 2010 (used) moped 3 days ago...was assured that it was well taken-care of. Brakes so squeaky and loud that everyone around me stares...throttle lags, also. Spoke to John and mentioned that maybe I should just bring it back and get a new one, and I got the whole rigamaroll about how the title work is already done and how it takes 2 months to process it, yada yada... He obviously doesn't want to put me on another unit...even for more money. Today, going up Kaonohi, the engine was bucking, surging, and dying. I have yet to have my call returned from DA. I've been going to this shop for over two years. I've purchased two mopeds from them for a decent price. One thing I noticed is they have cheaper parts then some other shops I have visited. They also didn't over charge me like other shops. Now I've had good and bad experiences with these people. If I noticed an issue we would discus it and it would be fixed no charge. One thing I don't like is if you don't have a very assertive personality they will try to take advantage. So I would recommend bringing someone with you. read more

i came in to buy a jet for the carburetor and the price said $9 and that's already a rip off and then the lady changed the price right in front of me saying that $9 was the wrong price and upped it to $15!! Like wtf so I ended up just leaving.. And everything else is a rip off.... Do not go here!! These guys are a rip off!! Even their mopeds are way over priced!! Nothing but good things to say about Da Motorsports! Bought my moped about two months ago and already racked up almost 1000 miles, runs like a dream. Went from driving to town 2-3 times a week, to every day, great for the commute. Been taking it in for regular maintenance, which is reasonably priced, and when my rearview mirror got clipped off this week, I had both replaced, and added a cup-holder for only the cost of parts- they didn't charge me for labor and I walked away with an under $40 bill. Running my moped, which is 81cc's and goes 45-50mph, costs less than riding the bus, and gets me there sooner. I get complements on it all the time :) John and Joy and the rest of the crew have been continuously friendly and great to work with. Their shop is busy for a reason! read more

Thought I'd never come back to this shop because of the poor customer service, and respect you get from the lady there. Seems like the owner or maybe just the shop keeper. I don't even want to waste my time writing a review for this place. But just to be fair if you do go there and want to avoid poor customer service. Try and talk to her mechanics instead of the Asian lady, or go to Apex Motorsports up the road from this shop. I would give this place a 1 star if it wasn't for the ladies mechanics there. read more

These guys are a total nonsense people.. Bring my moped to this place for a repair and waited for five days for them to call me back but no calls, the next day I called them about my ped, a guy name Jon answered I ask him if my moped is fix? And he reply " oh yeah we going to take a look at it today!" I was like today? My moped have been there for almost a week! So I went there the same day and get my moped the owner said they open my moped to see what was wrong with it he said nothing was wrong with it. I was like huh? the reason why I bring it to this shop because my ped is broken I won't get it to run while it's in idle the back wheel won't turn.. I had them take a look at it again and waited an hour.. Came back after and they had it fix so paid 80$ and took it home. The next day my ped had the same problem again called them and tell them that did you guys really fix my ped? The owner replied "ah bring it to da shop and we could take a look at it or you should really think about buying a new moped." I was like nope I won't be giving my money to you people f*ckn Rip off faggits... read more

Horrible! I would NEVER recommend this place! Go to Apex right up the street! They are great and honest there! Damotor sold me a lemon and YELLED at me! DaMotor was a horrible expereince. Apex was closed the day I needed immediate help, so I took my moped to have the belt replaced. I told them DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! I said that multiple times to both the Asian Lady and the mechanic. I get a call a few hours later saying my belt is fixed and my clutch was bad, they replaced it, and I need to pay X amount! I was so upset. I had never experienced my clutch slipping or causing trouble prior. When I called to tell them I was not ok with that. The Lady said, it was a danger to put my other one back on and that they could not give me my moped back with it on. Then she changed her words and said she could put the old one back on but basically good luck. So how can I know if they put my true original one back on or not... so I decided to "trust" their judgment and go with it. When I picked up my moped the lady gave me a very educated talk about how my clutch looked like "this"... showed me a bad clutch and then she showed me a nice new shinny clutch that she "says" was put on my moped. I trusted them, thanked them, and drove home. It was making a weird ticking noise... and I just decided to go to my trusted mechanic at Apex to have him take a look. He looked it over and we both quickly noticed that the clutch was not a brand new shinny part! I was so upset, cause it looked used!! It was not anything like the part she showed me that they put in the bike. Of course DaMortor was closed by that time and I couldn't go back. I'll sum up the last part... Basically I went back to Damotor and politely demanded that they open my moped and show me the clutch. IMMEDIATELY the LADY WAS IN MY FACE YELLING AT ME! JUST YELLING shaking her FINGER IN MY FACE!! "How dare you tell us what to do and tell us its a used part! HOW DARE you.. you know nothing about parts and moped" She was nasty! I regret not having a friend/witness... it was just awful. I thought I had this in a bag... that the they would treat their customer right... but I was wrong.. I stayed as calm as possible... Hated getting yelled at.. especially in front of all the drivers on Kam HWY. I asked to see what a brand new clutch looked like to compare it. She tried to resist.. talking over me... she grabbed the burning hot clutch from my moped and pressed it into my hand. "See this is a new part..blah blah.. you know nothing" She went back and grabbed a "new" clutch not in a package... not the shinny new one she had showed me the day before... and ripped me a new one that she was going to sue me and that I was never welcome back there again! At that point I was collecting what chips I had left.. and wanting to leave asap!!! NEVER would I ever go back there! Apex all the way! read more
