***take advantage of people*** DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE If you are a person that do not know cars, or how they work, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. This might be long. I'm an aircraft mechanic and also work on cars. I purchased a kit and replaced my ac compressor, condenser, receiver, and expansion valve (all part of you car's AC system) and replaced o-rings and added proper amount of oil to each component. Took my car to Famous Automotive to have my car AC system leak checked, flushed and serviced. All i told them is that it was empty and what I wanted to get done, I did not tell them I replaced my AC components. After they are done the guy in the front desk named OZZY SEYAL as you can see in the receipt, told me that the reason my car was empty is because I have a "clog" in the AC system and it released all the freon and offered me to replace the "AC systems kit". That if I leave my car there today they can have my car ready for tomorrow and would cost me $1600ish. Obviously my car didn't need any of that to get done as it is literally the reason i took my car there to get serviced. So they blatantly lied to my face in order to get more money. THE REAL ISSUE IS THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO HAVE THE AC KIT PARTS IN STUCK FOR MY CAR SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THEY COULD OF DONE THAT AND HAVE IT READY BY NEXT DAY, BECAUSE IT TAKES A FEW DAYS TO GET THE PARTS DELIVERED. SO IF IT WAS SOMEONE THAT DID NOT KNOW ABOUT CARS THEN THEY WOULD OF CHARGED THAT PERSON $1600ISH FOR REPLACING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND CLAIM THAT THEY REPLACED YOUR CAR'S AC COMPONENTS. ***TOTAL SCAM!!*** DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!*** Only reason I did 2 stars instead of 1 is because they did as I asked and serviced my AC system and it is running good. Although I doubt they did the leak check I asked for, otherwise they would of noticed I have new parts on my AC system. Famous Automotive was so helpful when I called and advised my car was being towed to their location. They quickly called me back and advised of the problem which was minor (battery terminal connector was cracked in two places). They replaced the defective part causing our issue and let us know we were good to go and could pick up our vehicle that same evening. I appreciated their responsiveness given it was the end of the day and their honesty. It's rare to find this kind of customer service and we will definitely be bringing our business back to this Fleming Island location. read more

I took it into a shop near me after my car started making a weird vibration while in idle, I was informed I had 2 bad motor mounts and needed a tuneup but was given bad advice by the staff and decided to call Famous and told them what was going on and after quickly being told they'd beat the price I told the shop that I was at that I was going elsewhere to get it fixed. They tried to talk me out of it by telling me I didn't need all of it. I took my car to Famous and immediately I was greeted with a clear sense of what needed to be done and was given an exact quote of what was needed to get it fixed. It was extreme last minute notice and was taken care of without a second thought. I picked up the car the next day and it was over $600 less than the original shop quoted me on everything they wanted to replace. Famous didn't try to oversell me on anything or talk me into a service I didn't need. They gave me and my car the service it needed to run healthy. read more

Cal was amazing to work with and talk with. Took my Sierra in to install struts that I brought in. Edit: I really had a great experience with Cal but i just found out an issue with the install. I noticed 2 nuts missing and one nut not even screwed down on the top of the strut hat. The new hardware that I personally bought for the install wasn't used and wasn't given back to me. When I went back and was given back the hardware, I assumed that it was all there but I'm missing some spacers. Not Cal's fault but I took it back in and Cal made it right and personally checked it over. I'll come back for other services because I still feel like they are better than most. read more

Negative 5 stars. came in for an oil change and they told me I needed $600 worth of other services. I'm stupid and agreed to some of it including motor repair. The motor was replaced January of this year so I should've known better. They took advantage of me as a female coming in alone and now I'm still stuck here here waiting for me car 5 hours later because I allowed them to lie to me and believe the crap. Do not use these guys and females beware. They also insulted me with some crap discount that hardly compensates for my time wasted after the lies. read more

I am a fan of Famous Auto...recently moved to the area and was searching for a independent auto care shop...first call to them I felt at ease. The assistant manager Jordan was very polite and informative. Dropping my car off I met the owner Calvin and just knew I was in good hands. He kept me informed of the progress and cost. I was having a complete oil change, tire rotation and alignment, air filters changed, new wipers, and overall check. Service was superb, and Calvin is down to earth, honest guy. 2ndGen Tundra owner here... I was driving down the road and my Tundra started to shift Really hard and not go in to 5th gear. I was super afraid because this is my baby and my only vehicle. Couldn't afford to have this thing go down. I called around at different shops and all of them were telling me that it was time for a new transmission. Can't afford a new one so I kept calling... spoke to Jordan at Famous in Fleming Island and he told me that he needs to at least see what the codes are saying. So I brought it over to him and he diagnosed it and gave me an estimate. To my surprise, he didn't say that I needed a new transmission, he told me that it was a solenoid issue. He ordered the parts and got to work. Those guys took care of my truck, worked late and had me back on the road in no time! What great service and superb work! I had problems with my car dying on me. After replacing the battery and alternator myself, my limited skill set was exhausted. I had no idea what to do anymore. So a jump start later, I was heading over to Famous Automotive. I was greeted warming, and they intently listened to my long two week struggle story. I left my car in their care and went off to get ready to work and within an hour or so they give me a ring and say they found what might've been a problem (user installation error.. oops). Alas! My alternator is giving signs of life. I still have a drained battery so they need several hours to recharge it for me. Which is completely within reason. Unfortunately, after charging it up, my alternator wasn't running at full capacity so they keep her over night and ran some more diagnostics. It came down to just a faulty alternator which happens. So I came to pick her back up. Card in hand ready to pay my diagnostic fee instead I just got my keys. The thing I appreciated the most about this place is they focused on just my concern rather than adding the minuscule bits of things I don't necessarily need just to ring up a bill. 10/10 best auto experience. read more
