They also have indoor tables and take-away. Parking was manageable out front and out back. I enjoyed the Harvest Salad with a unique blend of ingredients... It is quite large as well. The pizzas run about 15 inches in diameter and are described as New England style and as an East Coast style. We enjoyed our pizza very much, but the crust was a bit over-cooked/burnt for my tastes. This place was very close to our hotel we were staying at, we just walked across the street to get to it. This restaurant was quaint and had a modern and relaxed ambiance. We were promptly seated and we tried their blonde ale and lager which were a perfect pairing for our pizza. We got the southwest swell pizza which is their own take on a Hawaiian pizza and it was absolutely divine. I can't remember our servers name, but he was delightful and made pleasant conversation with us. I'm not huge on speciality pizza, so perhaps my review won't be the best. We ordered the Stingray. Overall, it was tasty. BUT... I felt like the dough was too chewy, maybe a bit undercooked, and the cheese to bread ratio was too big (I AM a cheese person). I love cold pizza/ eating the next day, but it was hard to chew then as well. It was almost like cardboard. We ordered the zucchini fries too. love salty food, but this was overwhelmingly salted. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, after finding the convenient parking behind/on top of the restaurants. We were seated right away and given suggestions by our server, Preston. It all sounded amazing, but we opted for a simple Original pizza with pepperoni and sausage. Some of the best I've ever had! My partner and I were both completely impressed by how little grease was coming off the pizza. It seems like most pizza places are dripping and covered in grease, but not Apizza Doho! Prices are reasonable, this 15" was around $25, and we were able to take about half of it home. Great food! Looking forward to coming back to try more. read more

I was in Dana Point with my wife on business a few days ago and stopped into Apizza Doho because we were in the mood for pizza and preferred to go somewhere near the hotel. Little did I know it would be good enough to travel across the county for! Attracted by the overwhelmingly positive reviews and the nearby location, we took a short rideshare trip to the restaurant and secured a patio table by arriving on the early side of dinnertime on a Sunday night. The weather was beautiful, and the cozy patio was the perfect spot for our first night in town. And while the prices aren't what you'd call "super cheap," they are entirely reasonable for this part of town and the impressive quality of what you get. You will pay much more for much worse elsewhere. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and after asking him a few questions, we decided to kick things off with the Zucchini Chips, which are as good as they sound if you like zucchini and better than they sound if you don't. They are sliced super thin and fried; they are light as a feather but taste amazingly delicious. If you've never had them, you have to try them. We then shared a Simple Salad, which is, quite frankly, one of the best dinner salads I've ever eaten, and a single order easily serves two people. A toss-up of greens, toasted pine nuts, cherry tomato, gorgonzola cheese, parsley, and spiced ranch dressing, it is a surprisingly delicious combination of ingredients. Do not discount how flavorful it is, with a very unique dressing and the pine nuts serving as the earthy star of the show. Then we tucked into the piece de resistance--an "Original" pizza with mozzarella cheese, grana padano, fresh basil, and pepperoni. Fantastico! The crust was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of char. The sauce was flavorful, and the ingredients were super tasty. Let's just say I ate more slices than I probably should have! And that's why I have nothing to report on any desserts. My guess is, if I come back again, I still won't. :o) read more

Hubs LOVES pizza and wanted to try a pizza place out in the West Coast, so we decided to give this place a try after watching it on social media and reading the reviews. The place is medium in size, with the kitchen being front and center and the tables all surrounding it. A mirror with the name of the restaurant can be seen on one of the walls right next to a framed mural of the word "EAT!". A TV screen also plays in the corner as well. We were immediately seated after arriving and ordered the following: Zucchini chips with Italian parsley and sea salt- we loved this appetizer and finished it in seconds. Hubs thought it was a little salty, but daughter felt that the appetizer wasn't big enough. LOL. Garden Party Pizza with roasted garlic, peppers, caramelized onions, mozzarella, mushroom, artichoke and truffled arugula. We loved this pizza and thought it definitely lived up to its name. We all felt we had a healthy lunch. Hubs didn't think we would ever like a pizza with no tomato sauce until we had this pie! He felt that this was the healthiest pizza that he's ever loved. I loved this pie and intend to order this again when we're back in this neighborhood. Parking is very limited on the streets, but they have parking on the roof. A little narrow but doable. We had excellent service from Kendra who seated us quickly and was so friendly and helpful with her suggestions. We ordered half aBeetz and half Burrata, and they were both delicious! We lived in NYC for 30 years, so we're picky about pizza, and Apizza Doho probably has the best crust we've had in California! We also had the Simple salad, and it was also really good. Even eaten in a hotel room microwaved it was one of the best pizzas I have tasted. The salad with pine nuts was divine, pine nuts are often underutilized or a skimpy garnish, but this was quite the opposite. The arugula was very bitter on the pizza, but I wouldn't say that's the restaurants fault in that sometimes arugula is just more bitter than other times. The service to pick up was friendly and fast, definitely order ahead of you don't want to be waiting forever! Do not EVER order online from this establishment. After placing an order at 5:15, I was informed that the order would not be ready until 7:15, a whole two hours later. The reason...online orders are last in the queue, after house orders, and call in orders, and then, only two per 15 minutes. So, even if the house is partially full, online orders are only 2 per 15 minutes. WORST ORDERING EXPERIENCE EVER! UPDATE: Marcos, the owner, contacted me to discuss and made it right.
