It makes me sad having to write this because Capo has been our favorite date night spot but we went last night and I was just so disappointed :( We went on Friday night and we were able to find a table. We noticed the menu changed so we were excited to try their new menu items. We loved their cheese fries so we ordered that but the worker told us they don't do carnitas anymore and now it's between birria or chicken so we went with birria. I wish I took a picture but right away I clocked that they looked different then before. Like my previous photo showed, they didn't include any guacamole and avocado bits. All it had was birria and a bit of cheese cause. When it was brought out, we asked them for more cheese sauce and both the server and the person who brought the food were there when we asked - we never got extra cheese sauce so the fries were dry. The server kept passing our table but never checked in on us or brought the sauce. The fries were our favorite and they were so disappointing this time. We ended up not ordering any other food and going somewhere else. We also ordered drinks: farmers daughter and the house margarita. The margarita was my go-to but it just wasn't good. It tasted sour and was not good at all. Maybe it was an off day for them but every time we come, we have a great experience - food and service. This time around it just wasn't a good experience.
This was a cute little spot that my friend and I decided to stop into for a cocktail. It's very open concept that feels inviting. Maybe it was the massive amounts of moms with toddlers running around screaming in the big shared courtyard outside that made me want to drink, or maybe it was the welcoming vibes. Either way I'm glad we stopped in. Service was very attentive and friendly. We had a great conversation with the bartender while we sipped our drinks. We sat at the bar top but there was some cozy looking spots to sit as well. The food looked great so I'd love to come back and check that out.
The Kandy in pink drink was surprisingly delicious. Loved the vibes. We got our drinks and food very fast. People had their kids here but it didn't feel like a playground. We really enjoyed ourselves
I've been enjoying checking out the various spots at River Street Marketplace, and Capo Leisure House has quickly become one of my favorite happy hour stops in the area. One of the things I appreciate most is that the happy hour actually feels like a good deal. Happy hour runs all day on Mondays and Tuesday through Friday from 2pm-6pm, with $10 cocktails, $6 beer and wine, and a few food specials that are worth ordering. We went with the chicken nachos ($10) and the taco special ($10 for two tacos, with mix-and-match options like birria, carnitas, chicken, and sweet potato). Both were surprisingly generous portions for happy hour items. The nachos came loaded with toppings and could easily be shared, while the tacos felt substantial rather than the smaller portions some places serve on their happy hour menu. The space itself fits right in with the River Street vibe. It's casual, lively, and makes for an easy place to hang out with friends after work or spend a relaxed afternoon grabbing a few bites and drinks. The entire marketplace has become a fun destination, and Capo Leisure House is one of the spots helping make it worth the visit. If you're exploring River Street Marketplace for the first time, I'd definitely recommend stopping by during happy hour. Can't wait to come back during regular hours to see what else they have to offer!
Chalk one up for Chat GPT! We were in SJC having a great Labor Day filled with food, drinks and shopping when I went looking for one more spot to enjoy a holiday cocktail. When Chat suggested Capo we walked over and were immediately impressed by the brewery, the tequila options, the gorgeous layout and fabulous menu. We were helped by Austin-who works for the developer, Almquist, and although he really wasn't there to serve, he took such amazing care of our group from start to finish. He recommended drinks ( they were killer) gave us some history about the property and even told us about their future development plans which was so cool! All in all such a special way to wind down a classic Labor Day weekend. Cannot wait to go back next time we are in town! Thanks, Austin! You made it truly special!

Great first visit to Capo Leisure House located inside the River Street Marketplace in SJC. Breezy, open air brewery with lush decor including comfy nail studded leather chairs, and beautiful large lighting fixtures. It was a busy Saturday when we stopped in so instead of waiting for a server, we popped up to the bar ourselves and grabbed their west coast IPA which was light and hoppy, really delicious. They have an extensive fun cocktail menu and wine menu along with food. We skipped the food and just settled in for some beer and people watching. From our spot near the bar, we could see the wide lawn in the center of River Street Marketplace and all the people enjoying the gorgeous day. Sublime and peaceful, will definitely be back.
River Street is such a fun addition to San Juan Capistrano and definitely worth checking out. My friend Sabrina and I spent the afternoon catching up at Capo Leisure, and we honestly lost track of time. It's the perfect spot to grab a drink, order some food, sit back, and actually enjoy the company you're with. The whole River Street atmosphere makes it even better, whether you're there for a casual day out, date night, or celebrating something special. The brisket sandwich at Capo is SO good, the beers are delicious, and the space has so much character. Austin is extremely hospitable and his attention to detail really shows. He genuinely makes sure everyone is having a great experience and feels welcomed. Sabrina and I came to catch up and ended up staying for hours, which pretty much says it all. Come hungry, grab a beer, and stay awhile. My type of vibe!!

We popped in early on a Saturday night and bellied up to the very lively high energy bar.... Grant, our bartender for the evening took wonderful care of us. We enjoyed a Sonoma Coast Pinot, with our short rib, tostadas, guacamole, and chips. FYI.-guacamole has a hint of honey so you better like a little sweetness. And then not too spicy wings.. We were able to listen to some twangy country music, people watch on a super clear, beautiful Saturday night. Very dog friendly, and apparently extremely baby friendly... You can reserve a table or you can just wing it like we did there's tons of tables to pick from if you get there early or you can just sit at the bar. It's one of the best seats in the house.
Lovely bar in such a great area! They make an assortment of craft cocktails, and I believe also have their own brewed beer. One of my favorite aspects about this place was the indoor and outdoor ambience. They had fire pits on the night we were there as it was quite cold, but it made for a perfect sanctuary from the rain. Although their IPA called my name, I actually tried their espresso martini here and absolutely loved it. It was a nice simple, dark espresso martini that I highly enjoyed! I will say I don't think you can go wrong, we had a large party and everyone ordered different things, the service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their drinks. Whenever I'm in the area again, I will certainly come back! Highly recommend Capo!
Thus place is a gem! We had all day Monday happy hour here and dinner. Everything was very pleasant. We had a few beers and then also indulged in happy hour nachos with birria. 9/10. And then the brisket burger. My only complaint was there was too much cilantro in the cabbage slaw. The fries were nicely seasoned as well with a hint of lemon. We will be back when we are around.
We came here for happy hour starting at 2 pm. The place has a modern rustic look to it with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Great shade so you don't get too hot. The server was great and gave us all the information about the happy hour menu. I got the cider and the birria tacos. The cider was so delicious! Crisp and sweet. The tacos were fantastic as well. My friend got the chicken nachos and those were my favorite. Great to share between two. I'll come back here for another happy hour in the future!

I've walked by this place a few times and today we decided to try it out. Took my wife and my daughter. Love the vibe here. Country music on the speakers open air in the service was amazing. I came back to Capo Leisure House inside the Rodeo River Street Market this past weekend and, of course, ordered the Blue Corn Beer-Battered Fish Tacos. They were as good as I remember the first time I had them. I even got the rest of my family hooked on their fish tacos. The flavor profile is right up my alley. And, since my last visit, I noticed that the chips they used were much better. They've listened and improved on the chips. No more stale chips here. In fact, they really complemented the Yellowtail Ceviche. I thought this was incredible! I didn't get a photo of it because we shared it among our party. Let's just say, this will be on my next order the next time I return. We also tried their Frozen Lemonade, which was perfect for the hot afternoon. It's a bit pricey but it's not far from the prices of regular, non-frozen drinks. Definitely good to have especially on a warm day! The service was great. And I'm just glad we all enjoyed our food here. This is now going to be one of my favorite stops to grab a bite in San Juan Capistrano. Highly recommend! read more

Capo had a nice menu of cocktails and beer with light bites. Farmer's Daughter, Amarillo Sling and Trailside Sangria! Service was great, friendly. Outdoor seating is a first come first serve. There are large trees providing some shade which is nice to block the hot sun in the summer. What an amazing weekend and visit to the Rodeo at River Street in San Juan Capistrano! We had the best time on a walk with our dogs when we decided to stop in at Capo Leisure House. Our server was friendly and great helping us with a quick bite and a beer. This was our favorite spot at River Street Marketplace and it looked to be that way for many others as well since it was packed. We sat at the bar since it was the quickest and easiest seating. The bartenders were very friendly and got our order right away. Although it seemed to be a brewery, they were making a lot of cocktails and they all looked great. Since we already ate we didn't order any food, but everything we saw go out looked delicious. Next time we come, we'll definitely order food with our drinks. read more

First time here and the food did not disappoint! Service could have been more attentive. The restaurant was not too busy and our server spent much time chatting with coworkers while we waited for drink refills and our check. I would however return for the phenomenal happy hour! My only suggestion is that the kitchen needs to provide the authentic dip for the birria tacos!!! They're more than great, but fully commit to the Mexican recipe by providing a dip please. read more

Every time I come here I have to get their fish tacos ! They are so delicious and tender never disappoints! Also I got the whiskey sour and their margarita which was amazing ! This place is great to come with friends to get a drink or two and hang out ! Lovely fireplace outside and the service has been great so far ! Absolutely love this spot! The menu offers a great variety of cocktails, wine and beer. The bar itself is incredibly stunning! Open to the Riverstreet Marketplace, it offers both indoor and outdoor dining, plus a cozy firepit - what's not to love? Drinks are on the pricier side. They are very aesthetic and beautifully crafted (as well as tasty), and the service was very friendly. Can't wait to come back! read more
