2 color shellac manicure with design on 2 nails

Today was my first time here and I would come back. The salon was clean and spacious with a relaxed atmosphere. They have large selection of regular and gel polish colors. My technician today was Vicky. We didn't talk beyond the normal giving her my colors and inspo photos, but she seemed nice and my nails came out how I wanted. I won't take off a star for their lack of parking since they're in Capitol Hill and that's to be expected. I also wish I'd noticed there was still a bit of my torn nail left so it could be trimmed off.

One of my new favorite nail salons in the Cap Hill area -- I called early on the day-of to get an appointment and it was fairly busy when I arrived, so highly recommend doing the same. The salon is a large space and every technician was working, so that should give you an idea of how popular it is! The nail techs are VERY meticulous and the work they do is solid -- I came in with a few broken and chipped nails and they were able to neatly shape a set of short nails for me and work to hide that! Even 2-3 weeks later, there's been virtually no chipping whatsoever. I love their color selections, too. They definitely charge a premium, but I honestly think it's worth it -- it's a bit on the pricier side, so I didn't mind splurging since I don't get my nails done often. They do offer a small cash discount if you can bring that. Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I really like this nail salon. I came here with a friend for a pedi and ended up coming back by myself for a gel manicure. I'm pretty basic with my nails so I love that they have numerous gel colors and many glitter gel colors too! The environment here is very relaxed, lights are low versus bright flouresceit's really nice versus other busier and louder places I've been. Plus, my gel manicure has lasted so long! Normally my gel peels and then I start picking at it. I am in cosmetology school so I love that my nails last longer

Look at the peeling polish from each nail!

This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had and I will never be going back. Nor will I be recommending this place of business to anyone! Over the past year, I have spent $100s on spa pedicures. It's a guilty pleasure - but also as a diabetic - taking care of my feet is improbable. Each time I have had polish and it lasts for sometimes as long as 4 weeks. I've been so happy. However four days ago, I opted for a mani / pedi combo and had clear polish on my nails. The polish is literally peeling off my nails and when I called them to complain, they gave me an email address to send photos. Email bounced back. So I called to make sure that I had the right email and the receptionist said "Since you called, I talked with my manager about your situation and there is nothing we can do because it's been so long." They hadnt seen the photos and continued to suggest that I wasn't telling the truth because even the receptionist gets polish on his nails "and it lasts for weeks." When I agreed that I had the same experience with my toes and that there must have been something bad with this polish, he basically said there was nothing wrong with their product and I didnt have to come back to them if I didnt want. For the last three appointments I've brought friends who also spent a lot of money. But no more! Don't go if you expect the company to stand behind their work!!

I've been to Apollo Nails about 4 times now. Each time before this one my gel nails came out amazing. They lasted sooo long to the point that I was walking around with 1.5 month old gel on my toes. Normally realllly good front desk, Manicurists, and pedicurists. But when my friends and I went in for mani pedis yesterday (March 5) there was a world wind of rudeness and confusion. We wanted 2 shellac mani pedis, 1 shellac pedi, and 1 mani pedi paint change. But they were confused on their side of who was getting what service even though we made it explicitly clear. Now Mimi and Kelly worked on my mani pedi and though my service took the longest of the group, they were so kind of thorough with everything. Even gave great massages. I thought I was so happy with the service until i got home and realized there were BUBBLES and on almost every finger! Come (March 6) i called and asked if i was able to come in for a touch up appointment. That i was just there yesterday and I had air bubbles. The front desk was super kind and i got an appointment at 4. I came in sat down. Explained my situation and my assigned manicurist looked at one finger and said no it's fine. I'm not usually someone who would go back and ask for a redo on anything because my confidence levels are NONEXISTENT when it comes to that. But because I paid $100 plus tip just the day before i knew i needed to say something more than just "oh okay". So i asked her to look at the other fingers and she agreed to take off the top coats and add another layer. When she took off the top coat you can so clearly see the air bubble more definitely and she then apologized for me having to come in again. I didn't get her name but she was so very thoughtful about the nail polish getting on my cuticles and she even evened out some of my nails again. I wasn't charged a touch up fee which was nice (thank you!!). But again getting into the car i notice the air bubbles forming once again but this time instead of them being dark they're more translucent. I have a big sigh and just drove away. I'm hoping when i get back from vacation. I can try the Apollo nails in Queen Anne and see if their nail polish is any better. Update: went to Mexico for 5 days. My nails picked up every color dye. They ended up brown 2 days into my trip. Taking close up pictures was a no go for this trip / foodie pictures.

Apollo Nails in Capitol Hill has been my favorite nail salon for several years. I get gel manicures every 2-3 weeks and gel pedicures about once a month. I generally need to get my nails done due to grow out, the gel itself usually looks great for weeks - no chips, etc. I have experienced consistency between the nail techs skill level - precise and detail oriented, regardless of who is doing your nails. The salon is diligent with their scheduling, I have seen them turn away walk-ins if they are too busy to accommodate, which I appreciate because I have been to other salons that take too many walk-ins to the point that it impacts scheduled appointments. The employees are nice, the salon appears clean, and every time I get my nails done anywhere else, it reminds me how much I prefer Apollo! I do wish Apollo would expand their color selection for gel, not sure how it compares to other salons but feels like there could be a larger selection to choose from.

Its very rare for me to give 5 stars for a nail salon but this place totally deserves it! I do my nails a lot at home, so I have very high expectations when it comes to the paint jobs. I've been to many nail salons where the painting isn't good, or the painting is fine but the service is awful. Apollo did amazing at both the painting job and the service. Made an appt online, suuuper easy, knew my total up front from the appt too which is huge cuz a lot of nail salons I feel like charge extra for things with no explanation. They did a great job on my nails and were very friendly. Very pretty atmosphere too. I will definitely be back. Ive been looking for a years for a nail salon to go to frequently.

So disappointed to leave this review, but I hope it helps the next unassuming person…read more I read their glowing Google reviews and was misled. It truly felt like a paid ad versus reality moment. I will never return. First, the location is strange. It's inside an industrial park that feels unsafe and unwelcoming. There's no restroom inside the suite, so you have to borrow a key and walk outside to a shared community bathroom. That alone should have been a warning sign. Second, nothing about the experience felt clean or professional. The technician didn't cleanse my eye area before starting and didn't even have the right products to do so. I never saw any sanitization happening. There was no autoclave or visible cleaning process for tools, and the blankets and pillow on the table looked reused and unwashed. They also don't use gel pads for lashes, which is the standard in any legitimate lash studio. Instead, they tape your eyes with medical tape--extremely uncomfortable and completely inappropriate for this kind of service. The techs chatted loudly about their personal lives the entire time, and I was poked more than once during the appointment. I left with a poorly done full set that immediately irritated my eyes. Within a few days, my lashes started falling out, and I could tell the glue and extensions were cheap. My lash line became crusty, itchy, and sore. For something that cost over $100, this was an awful experience from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else--ideally a professional lash and brow studio that prioritizes hygiene, uses quality products, and actually knows what they're doing. It should have been a red flag when this place listed every cosmetic service imaginable instead of specializing in one.

I'm normally not someone who leaves negative reviews, but I feel like I should share my experience…read moreso other girlys are aware before booking here. I made an online appointment for my bridal nails, selected "regular nail tech" and paid the required $100 deposit. About an hour into the appointment, I became concerned because the tech working on my nails seemed very inexperienced. She repeatedly applied and removed acrylics, over-buffed my nails to the point they became painful, and had to restart multiple times after making mistakes. The nail tech doing another gals nails next to me kept looking over concerned with the situation as well. After 2.5 hours of only working on one hand, I asked why the service was taking so long and was informed that the lady doing my nails was a junior nail tech -- not the regular tech I specifically booked. This was especially frustrating/disappointing since these were my bridal nails and I was on a time crunch. To their credit, the salon did try to make it right by moving me to Elena, who was their top nail tech and did a great job fixing them. However, after spending nearly 4 hours in the salon, I was only given a $20 discount, and my total still came to $160 (before I tipped Elena) which felt incredibly unreasonable & disrespectful given the experience I had. They even charged me $20 for "a design", which was chrome but there was no actual design done.... Just 20 dollars wasted for shiny powder rubbed on my nails. Now, a day later, my nails are throbbing and sore. I've had acrylics and gel nails for years and have never experienced this level of discomfort after an appointment and they didn't even clean behind the nails bed at all before layering down the gel x. For a salon that charges premium prices and promotes itself as one of the best, this was unfortunately one of the worst nail salon experiences I've ever had. I would recommend saving your money and choosing a salon that provides better quality service at a more reasonable price. This is not the place girls!
