Wow. Pretty terrible. Came to Apollo's for a late lunch with my wife and two kids. We ordered a large pizza and a steak sandwich. It was not crowded at all so we expected pretty fast and good service. After about a 30 minute wait, the pizza came out wrong. The steak sandwich was nasty and fatty, and cost $18. Didn't send that one back but probably should have. The waitress never once offered to refill any of our drinks. The second pizza came out and was only marginally better than the first (still not right) but it had already taken way too long to send back again. The kids were starving. When the bill came we were overcharged for the pizza based on what the menu said. There was no apology and no discount offered for our extremely long wait and wrong food coming out. Overall, quite a bad experience. We will not be coming back to Apollo's and would recommend that others steer clear as well. read more

A quick plug for hubby, who doesn't "do" opinion sites... he's a dessert aficionado - the baklava was AMAZING and HOMEMADE! It is the best we've had since our honeymoon in Mykonos, Greece, where he officially fell in love with the dessert. For my part, I loved it, too. I thoroughly enjoyed the dolmas appetizer. The pizza was also quite delicious - sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, chicken and feta... a 14" pizza fed us both that night and the next morning. Hands down one of the most disappointing meals I've had in years! I'm all about supporting local which is why I wanted to give them my business. I asked the server if the crab cakes were homemade, our server said yes and that they are delicious. We basically got served mushy breading with little to no crabmeat and they were burnt on the outside. I felt bad for the only server on hand as the restaurant filled up quickly(this is essentially one of the only restaurants open Monday nights in Seward during the winter months) it was super slow service. It was super disappointing to spend $70 on gross food when having my family in town. read more

Our experience tonight was terrible. We sat for 2 hours waiting for a pizza we ordered the moment we sat down. We are year-round locals, have been here dozens of times before and normally enjoy the food. An hour and a half in we were apologized to and told our pizza had accidentally been given away and ours would be out in 6 minutes, "it would be the next one out". 25 minutes later, 8 pizzas have gone past our table, and we still didn't have our Apollo's Special Pizza. We requested our ticket for our drinks and the owner promised us it was 2 minutes from being done. No. We paid for our drinks and left. We were there 2 hours and watched an entire dining area get their food, eat it, and leave. I am giving two stars because despite the disorganization in the kitchen, the servers were VERY quick to refill our sodas. They did try to make it right after 1 hr and 40 minutes by bringing our table of three a single salad and a basket of breadsticks, which was appreciated, but when you came wanting pizza and get a third of a salad and 2 halves of a breadstick, it doesn't really cover it. It's hard to see, it's my daughter's favorite restaurant and I don't think we'll be back any time soon. read more

We ate here for dinner and it was very very good. My son and I each had the ribeye steak and 1/2 pound Alaska King Crab and my wife had the Halibut. Everything was great! The only reason I'm giving it some star is because as soon as I told the waitress about how awful the pizza was she immediately took care of it... what I order apparently didn't have sauce, I've never heard of a pizza with no sauce. My family had just finished an all day fishing trip and had several extra pounds of fish that was not going to fit into the box we were shipping home. The packers at the dock suggested we bring it to Apollo's to have them cook it for us. I have to admit that when I Yelped the restaurant and it only had 3.5 stars I was a little apprehensive, but figured we'd try it. Wow! I'm so glad we did. I called them ahead of time and they were able to get us in and seated quickly. They fries up 1/2 our fish and grilled the other half and gave us gigantic servings of salad, potatoes, and pasta, all at a reasonable cost. They made the experience of bringing in our fresh fish so easy and enjoyable. Great food and great service. read more

Pam & I dropped in immediately after the race this past 4th of July. We really just needed to use the facilities but, we never do that unless we stay for a bite. The facilites were fine. We had a couple of glasses of wine, some bread and we tried to get them to put some balsamic vinegar and olive oil on a plate for us. We like to put salt and pepper in it and dip the bread to have with our wine. We learned that little trick in the bars in Milan! We had been there before, we are 15 years old with one of our older friend was 16. The first time we went there, it was amazing, we had an amazing food and an amazing waiter. Second time we came, we sat down and one of the waiters came to check on us. Asked how old we were, we gave them our age. We weren't asking for drinks or anything, just wanting food. They continued to tell us that it was apparently the law to not serve us and that we had to leave. We looked up if there was any law for us not to EAT at a restaurant without an 21 year old. Btw there were kids around us. We live in a town where you can eat anywhere even if they serve alcohol, I was very upset. Maybe because they thought we wouldn't tip well? read more

You MUST eat here! Our whole family, 12 of us went to eat there after a full day of fishing and it was AWESOME! The sign said they were going to close in 10 minutes and we all were discussing we can't go here where should we go. The manager saw us out on the sidewalk and insisted we come in and eat. We had drinks, salads and the best Mediterranean pizza I have ever eaten! They didn't rush us and they continued to encourage people to come in just like us. I think the hours posted are for the off season up there. So fun! Also I noticed many old people eating there. That is usually a GOOD SIGN. read more

We went fishing in Seward Alaska and caught some salmon in the ocean in the summer of 2017. We took the fish to this restaurant and they prepared the fresh fish very exquisitely. The restaurant had other delicious food and we had a party of 19 people and they served us all very well. read more

Being huge fans of the glacier cruises in the past with Major Marine Tours, we have done a few overnights being that the full day cruise out of Seward is our favorite. Being sourdoughs, we know the prices for visitors-especially in the summertime is exorbitant. And that wouldn't be so bad if the quality and service, and more importantly- decent selection was there. Nada. Not in Seward. The beauty makes up for this, but to make Seward a regular stop would render one penniless in a short period of time. The Apollo was one of two decent restaurants that we found. Pleasant place, with a nice selection of dishes on the menu, including not so bad wine. Super busy, of course, but we always got in with no trouble. Major Marine Tours has changed their format regarding seating which has become very disappointing. Instead of the separate tables and chairs, they have put in big booths which are hard to get in and out of, especially when forced to sit with another group. I am so glad we went to Seward when we did. It is still a must stop for the glacier cruises. VERY challenging to find decent lodging without paying an arm and a leg. Best to rent a camper, and stay on the beach-:-) read more
