The only thing that was an absolute no were the pita chips. We let our server know and he agreed and said that the only two instances where he has worked there, this being the third, where an issue has arisen, was with the pita chips. He even mentioned that he has told the chefs before but they still haven't changed it. You could knock someone out with them, that is how hard they were. Despite that, everything else was delicious and the atmosphere made for a great celebration!

Yelp took down my first review from a while ago, claiming that my review was too focused on issues or politics. Funny how the owner of this business thrust their politics into the equation with their inflammatory rhetoric regarding customers who don't support the orange, criminally-indicted clown and now I--as a former customer--can't respond? If this kind of censorship had happened to them, they would be howling in the streets, rioting, spraying tear gas, and smashing things up (cf. J6). But I digress from my review. I honestly can't recall a good experience here because all of my memories of dining here are now colored with the lens of the owner's extremist views. If you ate great food while in the company of the Taliban, would you recall how you enjoyed the mashed potatoes, or would you recall how outlandish, offensive, and outdated their politics are? Here are a few of my thoughts on the matter, in no particular order: The owner of this restaurant is okay with banning books. The owner of this restaurant wants to take away women's rights. The owner of this restaurant would like to roll back voting rights and place restrictions on access to this bedrock principle of democracy. The owner of this restaurant is fine with discriminating against people based on their race, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. The owner of this restaurant believes that presidents should be "installed" for as long as they want, and be allowed to do whatever they want--including becoming a "dictator," unless, of course, that president is from a rival political party. In that case, the owner of this restaurant believes that, despite overwhelming factual and statistical evidence, the president isn't actually the president at all. The owner of this restaurant is fine with an ex-president who has been impeached three times, and is the first to be criminally prosecuted after leaving office. The owner of this restaurant is fine with rolling back protections on clean air, water, and wildlife. The owner of this restaurant believes that there is a global conspiracy involving pizza, space lasers, and a cabal of depraved shadowy elites who secretly run everything. The owner of this restaurant endorses putting a gun in everyone's hand, while offering "thoughts and prayers" to those who are killed in the ensuing violence perpetrated by those with easy access to said firearms. The owner of this restaurant believes that we live in a post-racial society in which there is no such thing as discrimination based on race--unless, of course, you are talking about reverse discrimination against Whites. The owner of this restaurant denies that anthropogenic climate change is a thing, and supports big oil and gas. The owner of this restaurant favors Putin over Ukraine. Even though Ukraine is a democracy. And they didn't start the war. And Putin is a dictator. And is committing war crimes. The owner of this restaurant denies medical science in general, and is skeptical that vaccines actually make people and society healthier. The owner of this restaurant...you get the point. Personally, I do not want to eat with selfish, chronically aggrieved, petty, uninformed, and aggressively incompetent humans who have zero interest in bettering the world we live in. So I'm taking my hard-earned food budget elsewhere, and I suggest that everyone else do the same. Go ahead, Yelp, and take this review down, too. But in 2024 you cannot--with a straight face--tell people that an establishment's political inclinations are incompatible with judgements made regarding the experiences people have with them. To do so is to engage in bald-faced hypocrisy and undermine the very process that makes your business model relevant. read more

I have worked in some of the finest restaurants for over 39 years as a waitress, bartender, sous chef and manager. coach and 6 many 5 star restaurants in florida as well. the guy complaining about everything like he is a food critic is a obviously used to eating at chick filet and mcdonalds he has no idea of what a great restaurant this place is. i just went there 3/13/19 for the first time for my birthday. the atmosphere is like eating in a mountain lodge. the big house salad was a delight. the trout was so fresh i needed to look outside to see if there was a river it just hopped out of. service amazing. not rushed a real delight every bite. i took every bit of my left overs as the food was very generous and enjoyed my meal once again at home. salad and trout and even the spinach and rice tasted amazing. i use only fresh ingredients and out of my garden herbs and my veggies. this place must have veggies out the back door. we cannot wait to come back. mr. insulting eating out of a can must really know just how to eat out of a can. if it is out of a can i want to know from where!!!! fresh is fresh you cannot fake fresh. so everyone else dont listen to him. this place is worth it ...go at 5 pm like we did so you dont have to wait. if i could have given it a 10 i would have. thanks for making my birthday perfect we will be back!!! and no i dont work here but if i were still in the business i sure would be proud to. i am a certified life coach and licensed hypnotist maybe mr eat out of a can needs some anger management and self love. come see me anytime. victoria read more

Stopped by on. Friday afternoon looking for dinner drinks. The wait time was 30 minutes so we decided to sit at bar. Let me tell you we were not at all disappointed the beer was cold and the selection was amazing! We started out with the Calamari appetizer it was the perfect amount. I ordered the Shrimp n Grits it was different it had smoked sausage and bacon bits along with the shrimp. The grits were so smooth and tasty! Definitely worth every bite was delicious! It came with 1 side I tried the buck head Chili and it was so full of flavor. Definitely worth trying again. My husband had the Jumbo Fried Shrimp and Fries it came with a side he chose the house salad it was full of greens fruit and the dressing was amazing! We finished off with the crème brûlée and that was so yummy ! I recommend this place for dinner drinks great atmosphere and magnificent servers! read more

please do not support this business owner... Jackie is the most vile, hateful, misogynistic, and disrespectful human being I have ever encountered. For over a decade, I have heard horror stories from the young women that he employs. He has an outrageous, fiery temper. He degrades women to their faces and behind closed doors.he throws hatred around and defends it with the disguise of religion. He is judgmental, angry, hurtful, and deeply troubled. i don't understand how so many horror stories can circulate around one individual, and he still be a successful and respected business owner. When we sent it back because it was cold they put into the microwave lke we would not notice. The owner came by and we were embarrassed on how he treated us! Yes, it was the owner...so weird. He is an angry man that is for sure. Our server was sweet and tried to make excuses for her boss but the food was ok if it's was a place like Ryan 's but this food is expensive. Steak was thin and tough! My wife's salad was mostly iceberg lettuce.. Had dinner there several years ago after visiting the nearby Museum of Western Art. Post-pandemic, I was shocked to see this sign on the door of the restaurant. Unfortunately, this type of political cognitive dissonance is off putting and deleterious to business. Pay your employees a living wage and pass on the cost of supplies to your loyal customers. Don't piss and moan particularly when you consider the thought of a twice impeached, twice indicted, top secret official documents hoarder, adulterer, ignoramus running for office again. Appalachian Grill is one of those cozy local gems that feels welcoming from the moment you walk in. The menu has an upscale twist without losing its neighborhood charm, and the prime rib is absolutely delicious--it's worth ordering any night of the week. Just had lunch here. The food was delish. I had the trout which they made especially for me since I am lactose intolerant. They served it with steamed asparagus and rice, and the pecans & bacon were on the side, along with a balsamic reduction. It was excellent. The rest of my party had the shrimp bisque soup which they raved about, and the shrimp and scallops. Everyone cleaned their plates. Our server, Darci, was wonderful. We found Largos by accident and what an amazing surprise. Their selection of oysters were terrific and we thought, wow, we stumbled across a really nice place and then we had the beef tartar with foie gras and OMG, we were hooked. We followed up with lamp lollipops and finished off with crème brûlée. Each course was excellent. We highly recommend!! This place is a must try.

Each thing on the menu is a bold take on a traditional dish that generally is excellent. If you just got through watching some cooking shows and have to find something that is not your usual fare, this is where you want to go.

As a vegetarian, to have options that were so considerate was absolutely amazing. The waiters were always great and this place is so popular during the week. I made it very clear to the waiter that I'm vegetarian and he was great about being really honest about what can and can't be made vegetarian from the menu. I came twice and the first time I ordered the tomato bisque with grilled cheese as well as the vegetarian option from the weekly specials. Both were incredible, but I was unable to finish the main after having the bisque which was surprisingly filling. If you're vegetarian in Cartersville, there is always at minimum, one vegetarian option here and they are unusually a unique dish that tastes incredible. I also recommend trying their cream sodas. I don't know if I'd get it again, but it was definitely a lot of fun to try. They are not as fizzy as I expected so be warned, but the taste is delicious.

Firstly the bathrooms had a horrible smell of urine and were not cleanly. Second the ribeye, a normal order of ours was very tough and chewy compared to previous. Third the water had a very strong dirt/mineral taste ( not like Florida water, it was like drinking GA red clay ). Although these above didn't go great, our waitress did a good job and we will continue to come to Texas Roadhouse just not this location.

Now being told it's a 50 minute wait for any food. I get it's nice out people are out and want drinks and food, be prepared or you will lose your business. You're not the only place on a lake, period. So we've ordered and will update after bit. Got food 30 minutes later about what they said, not bad overall. Clean up the attitude and be prepared for the summer. You're on a lake.
