Food: We really loved their "Devils on Horseback" which were their bacon covered dates. We also really liked their crab rangoon!! The strawberry habanero jelly that came with it was so tasty! It was sweet, but had a definite kick from the habanero at the back of the throat. Unfortunately, they were out of the deviled eggs that we wanted to try. Drinks: We ordered the Passion Symphony (super refreshing), the Sacre Bleu (even more refreshing), the Flaming Youth (super sweet, but wouldn't recommend if you don't want a dessert for a drink), and an earl grey old fashion. My boyfriend wanted to try the chai tea OF, but they were out of that, so the barista substituted it with earl grey. Service: The baristas were nice, but the service was kind of slow for both food and drinks. Ambiance: Very chill! I liked that everyone was very casual. The place itself was small and definitely felt like a speakeasy! Overall good place, just be prepared to wait a bit if it's pretty full. Make sure to go on their website to check how to get a reservation.
Fun little speakeasy in Old Town Temecula! They are a pretty small spot so best to call to make a reservation. They are located within a restaurant, Devilicious, so pretty easy to find. The bartenders are really nice and friendly and will find a drink that fits your palette. They even made a different drink when we didn't like one! I got the S'Mores drink and it was fun to watch them smoke the marshmallow. They also serve small plates here too that are great for sharing!
First time visiting a speakeasy, and I can understand the popularity. The bar is conveniently located behind a wall by the register. My friends and I spontaneously decided to visit here without knowing it was a speakeasy nor that reservations are recommended, but the staff here were very accommodating and allowed us to enter as walk-ins after waiting around 30 minutes. The cocktail menu is fairly moderate with a brief description of each drink along with a history of how speakeasies came to be/how Apparition Room was founded. Our bartender Saus? (I apologize if I spelled it wrong) he told us his name is like hot sauce, was very fun to converse with and the drinks here were great. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.
Very small so I wouldn't want to go at peak hours but the vibe is cool and dark. I don't really like the animals on the walls but I like the seating and tucked away corner rooms. Bar staff were friendly and patient. They were out of the only good food options though. So we just got one drink- the Campfire Sour. It's a fun experience. They roast the marshmallow in front of you at the bar and use the smoke from the marshmallow to coat the cup before filling it. It did have a slight marshmallow flavor and best of all, you get to eat the roasted marshmallow too!
Great drinks and atmosphere. Small, hidden location so not good for large groups. Definitely a great place to catch up and talk while enjoying a wide variety of delicious drinks!!
My friend who brought me and my fiancé together was visiting again and we went out to old town Temecula Saturday night and after dinner at baileys, I told them about this place as I had been here once before and knew how awesome it was. And man, was she impressed. My fiancé had never been here either and he liked it. The drinks were amazing as I remember. I love the old 20's outfits with the arm cuffs and everything. It's so cool. The decor is amazing! You gotta check this out!
This is a fun little speakeasy located inside of Devilicious. I've been a handful of times now with different friends and we've all had a nice experience at each visit. The most recent was a few weeks before Christmas when my girlfriends and I wanted to get festive Christmas cocktails. We each tried something different and they were all pretty tasty. Their regular cocktail menu is pretty good, too. I'm unsure if they're still on the menu, but my friend and I once had the bacon-wrapped dates which were absolutely delicious. It's a fun place to stop in if you have time!
Everyone here is so attentive and kind. They're very knowledgeable and know their stuff especially whenever I ask off menu items. It can get pretty busy but they're always offering a smile and wonderful customer service, creating each visit a nice experience. One of the couple speakeasies in Old Town Temecula. Fun 1920s atmosphere. Easy entrance through Devilicious, although it isn't so secret. Make sure to make reservations beforehand. You have to text a number and work out the details with someone to make the reservation. Drinks are some of the best I've ever had. I ordered a gin drink off the menu but my friend had a custom-made one from the bartender and it was amazing. They asked for her likes and dislikes and made her a floral vodka drink - I had a sip and it tasted like cotton candy. She said it was the best drink she's ever had. They also have a small menu for food but it's more like small appetizers. We ordered some mushrooms and it was an extremely small portion so I recommend getting your food elsewhere. Area itself is very small. If it's packed, you'll have people seated right next to you and behind you. Two hour max with reservation.

Boy, does it pain me to write this review. I had looked forward to visiting this Old Town speakeasy since we moved to Temecula over two years ago, and fully expected to love this place. Friends got 7pm reservations on a Sunday night (and were instructed that we had to be out by 9pm), and we entered through that "secret door" at the Devilicious hostess station. Our friends were bummed that we couldn't sit at the bar and watch the drinks being made but frankly, I thought the room where we were seated off the main bar area was cozier with sofas and comfy chairs. Every seat at the crowded bar was taken and while that would be great for just two people, I thought our seating was much better (and quieter) for two couples to be able to enjoy cocktails and converse. On to the drinks! Kassidy was mixing at the bar. Although our server Ryan seemed rushed, he did give some whiskey guidance and we ordered a Buffalo Trace whiskey tasting to start. Smoked old-fashioneds were out as we were told their "smoker was broken". I ordered an Aviation, which should be a gorgeous pale purple from the crème de violette. Instead, mine was served barely cold, with no garnish, and green in color! It was clearly not an Aviation, which would have been fine had it been more chilled. And please, you're a speakeasy - all cocktails should be garnished! We probably would have ordered some small bites, but Ryan was quite busy and never asked. With wait times for the whiskey tasting and our drinks, there was no time for food or another round. Last call came at 8:10 for their 9pm close. Overall, I was sadly underwhelmed by the Apparition Room. While I'd love to try it again to see if it was just a bad night, I'd definitely opt for the fairly new "36522 Distillery at Oak Mountain" if you want the speakeasy experience. We visited recently and were totally wowed by the ambiance, service and cocktails (all made with their own distilled spirits!)
This was a cool place to come to. The drinks were good and once we were seated the service was great. Prior to that we did not have a reservation and had checked in and were told they were going to let the bartenders catch up on making the drinks for those already sitting inside. We were waiting by the bench as instructed but another couple that was a walk up were seated immediately. The Christmas decorations were really cool and their holiday drinks were served in mugs that matched the drink. They weren't able to do any substitutions to any of the holiday drinks but the bartender was able to make a drink similar with my drink of choice.
I love speakeasy bars!!! What a cool spot for a speakeasy. Inside a sandwich type of joint, the speakeasy is behind the host desk. Really cool! We had some drinks and a couple apps. The service was good, bartenders were knowledgeable, and they have the biggest Green Chartreuse bottle I've ever seen!!

This place is so cute! The decor is top notch! I love the holiday decor. This was my first time there. I had the secret santa drink which I had no idea what it had but it was tooooooo strong for me lol. It came in a cute milk n cookies presentation. Everyone we were with loved their drinks! I can't wait to be back. The service was nice. We had a 9pm reservation but finished early with dinner elsewhere and they were able to accommodate us at an earlier time. read more
This is such a hidden gem---no pun intended. Hidden within the walls of Devilicious, you'll find amazing spirited cocktails and delicious small bites. Cassidy and Ryan make some of the best drinks I've ever had and they are consistent in flavor profiles which is exceptional when your needing to fulfill an exact umami. I love places like this! We walked up to the hostess on a Friday night around 10 and she said that she can text us if there are any open spots because at the time it was completely full, reservations only. We decided we would take the chance and put our info down. There is a photo booth right next to the hostess stand and we were messing around with it for about ten minutes and the hostess popped out of the speakeasy and said we could go on in. I was so excited to try this place! It has super awesome decor. We were able to sit in the lounge section. Our waiter/mixologist took our order shortly after we sat down. I got the campfire old fashion. The presentation was superb. And it was an amazing cocktail. My friends ordered really great drinks as well. The only reason I am knocking it down to one star is we had chatted and waited for our guy to come back and when we got another waiter/mixologists attention so we could order food he said that the kitchen was closed. It was kind of our bad for not asking for when we got there, but he also could have mentioned it when we ordered drinks. I will definitely come back again I had a great time. read more

First time we went everything was fantastic. So, when I made reservations to come back a second time I was assuming it would be great. I made reservations, a day before. We showed up on time, and the hostess told us she didn't have room for us. She was very rude. read more

Went here to celebrate our buddy's upcoming nuptials. Nice place, great atmosphere and very knowledgeable bartenders. There's a standard menu with drinks they make but a unique twist to this place is you can order "off menu." Tell the bartender what your favorite liquor is and they ask you questions to better understand what you'd like to drink. Then they'll come up with a fabulous concoction that'll blow your socks off. this place is super hidden, no signage or anything, I had to ask someone if they knew where it was, so it was cool in that sense because it really was "secret" but maybe some instructions could be provided when making reservations or something. reservations were booked for the evening but they mentioned to ask the hostess if any last minute openings were available. we got there and thankfully we were able to walk right in. we told them we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and both the waitress and hostess were very sweet and attentive at first. The waitress Peyton left us our drink menu and said she or someone else would be back shortly to get our order. ok well that didn't happen. we were seated in a more private room next to a large party. no one came into that room to take our order nor to check on the large party for 35 mins. Yeah. 35 mins. I kept just giving them the benefit of the doubt and tried to enjoy the experience in the meantime but 35 minutes without someone coming to take our order is ridiculous. At that point, Peyton came by finally and asked if we were "doing ok". I told her no girl, no one has even taken our order. She apologized and took the drink order but cmon. We were totally forgotten about. And the big party next to us as well because no one stepped into the room for so long to check on any of us. This place is nice, well priced, and cool atmosphere- but honestly ruined because of this. I just don't see how you could forget about your guests for so long. The place isn't large at all. We quickly drank our drinks and then asked for the bill. It's worth a shot to come visit, maybe you'll have a better time than we did. read more
Reservations highy recommended not a huge place but very roaring 20s and intimate. Drew was an excellent passionate bartender changed up a drink to go with type of liquor I had already been drinking which was tequila. Drink was called Jungle Bird so delicious and unique couldn't even begin to describe flavors. Tried their pork belly was filling and delicious. Loved the vibe! read more

My girlfriend and I came down from LA to check out the closest bar that was still hosting Miracle Popup - and that was Apparition Room. It was absolutely worth the drive. The decor and glassware was ultra christmassy and got us in the holiday spirit. Willie was super friendly and served up a bevy of holiday drinks, including a delicious spiked eggnog I highly recommend making a reservation before the Miracle Pop Up ends!! If I lived closer, I would certainly be a regular. read more

We had a disappointing experience at the Apparition Room. Booking a reservation at this Speakeasy was planned weeks in advance and was meant to be the highlight of our trip to Temecula. We had a party of 6 and arrived right on time for our reservation. We were sat on a row of stools up against a wall with no table and no way to converse with each other and were told we could just wait and take any free spots that opened up for a better experience. Finally after 45 min, a whole room freed up. We waited for a table to be cleared to finally enjoy the experience- but we're asked not to use the room/ table or chairs because another party of 10 was coming in and they wanted to sit together. We pointed out that we had a reservation and also wanted to sit together and the hostess said seating arrangements together are not guaranteed and that it was spelled out in our text reservation. This was not true. We were led to believe we had a legit reservation at a table together. It's unclear why the party of 10 had priority, we imagine they were friends of someone who worked there or knew someone. Obviously no table of 6 randomly freed up- so our reservation was basically useless. Plus, there was supposedly a 2 hour limit and there were others at seating areas the whole time we were there and no one was monitoring the time limit. The food was good, the drinks were good, the bartenders and waitstaff were hardworking. The hostess was rude and the reservation system disorganized and non functional. I do not recommend. read more

Idk why it took us so long to come here. They are literally about 45 minutes from us. We're always looking for sea East's and never thought of searching for speakeasy's close to us. This place is inside of @deviliciouseatery ... let me stop for a moment, head to Devilicious I promise you you will love the garlic Fry's and crispy Brussels. We had that before we went in to have a drink and washed it down with one of their local tap beers. After we went in to the secret door and they took us to a nice little quiet area where we had some cocktails and more appetizers, we had the stuffed dates and the crab Rangoon. As far as drink.. I cannot remember what they were but they were perfect! Would definitely recommend this place! read more

Welcome to the glorious ambience of the speak easy's Apparition Room. Tucked into the Devilicious Eateries innards along the wall is a secret door that allows you to step back in time to the times of prohibition...no secret knock or code word as yet. They've been open about five months now. You can have appts with your craft drinks. We had truffle chips and bacon wrapped dates. No big label spirits here, names I've never heard of but thst doesn't mean low quality. There were four of us and Mo took good care of us. They promoting vodka drinks for $10 We had a couple drinks a piece. The drinks were ok, one of the drinks I had was an Old fashioned that was fair. When got our check and we were confused at all the misc charges for alcohol separate from the drinks. We asked about this and it was kinda like smoke and mirrors for extra charges so.....check your bill when you get it. Bob the manager took about $20 off of it for us. Ambiance was nice. The bartenders were helpful and attentive. Did not try the food but I will next time. Make sure reservations are made before going. I would recommend this bar for anyone wanting to experience something a little different in Old Town Temecula. The only thing missing was prohibition era music haha no big deal. read more

Decided to take my mom out last minute for her birthday and from the moment we booked our reservations till the moment we left we were treated with GREAT service. We were accommodated with our party of 5 so booking was easy and our host sat us right away. First impression of the bar was WOW. They really put in the effort to make this little bar seem like something out of a movie. It's classy and elegant and just what we wanted. But what really put us over the moon were the drinks. Props to the bartenders. You guys know how to make a quality drink. We will definitely recommend the Apparition Room to family and friends! read more

MO: "Do you guys do 'Apparitions'? I need a service call ASAP. We've got an 'occurrence' here that's taking our business name WAY too literally. I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought." ME : "OK, we'll be right over to check it out." [we gear up, each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on our back.] [on the way to the Speakeasy] ME : "There's something very important I forgot to tell you." HER: "What?" ME : "Don't cross the nuclear accelerator streams." HER: "Why?" ME : "It would be bad." HER: "I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, 'bad'?" ME : "Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light. Total protonic reversal." HER: "Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thank you." [we arrive at the conspicuously inconspicuous, "room" tucked alongside Devilicious Restaurant.] INT - NIGHT - BAR [sounds of clinking glasses and muted conversation] [It is a novel Beefeater-on-the-rocks scene straight out of the 1930s... a dark and intimate space; seasonal and sophisticated cocktails; bartenders equipped with skill, showmanship, and cool vests; and a requisite taxidermy moose-head on the wall] HER: "Listen. Do you smell something?" [noticing 800 perfectly arranged superior gin, whiskey, rum, and tequila bottles on the back wall] ME : "Hmm... symmetrical bottle stacking. Just like the Philadelphia Mass Turbulence of 1947." HER: "You're right, no human being would stack bottles like this." [Mo points to the 'patron' at the end of the bar.] ME : (to 'patron', sitting above a sizzling puddle of green slime): "Excuse me, Sir. By any chance have you, or any member of your family -- ever been found in a supernatural, paranormal, or mentally incompetent state of being?" PATRON: "Well, my uncle thought he was Saint Jerome..." I thought I was hearing things...but now am I seeing things? An Apparition! I'm not A big believer in ghosts. However, when spirits are involved you can count me in. The Apparition arrived recently in Old Town Temecula, many still do not know about it. We still have much to learn about it. The husband and I are asking questions regularly to gain more insight. An apparition is a spirit, yet as we know there are many types of spirits. Whiskey is one of the main types you will experience here. What lures me is the history, the stories, the process...Taste is a factor also. You don't have to be a good ol' boy to enjoy whiskey, I can attest. Yet, you may wish to leave your wine country roots when you enter such a space because rose' all day is not a term used here! Age has a lot to do with things. A well aged whiskey is full complexity and balance. This is an apparition I would seek out. I would also be open to an element of surprise, by providing only a few hints on what I like. The Apparition has a Dealers choice option. I was provided two separate cocktails, which have no name, one made of lavender and another of citrus notes. Both were the best I have ever had. Spirited concoctions! Perhaps, it is best to pay our respects to the ancestors that came before us in creating these methods and to praise the efforts of those who saw the vision of an Apparition to share with us all! Happens Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm. No reservations need and Signature Cocktail menu are discounted.
I see the door behind the bar....... my question is, do we just walk on in behind the bar and go thru the door? Or is there access thru the passage way where the bathroom is?
You have to have reservations but the door is right behind the hostess table.
