Excellent for quick nail trim! My usual groomer was closed so I called and they accommodated me after hours. We stopped in and they took my medium sized mix right away. They were wonderful with her! Lots of pets to make her feel comfortable and even sang to her. And they tried the dremel (I asked) which usually she hates but didn't mind. Yay! Love this place. We'll be back!! read more

First time taking my maltese to a groomer in ventura. Searched and called so many places but this place was the only one that could help us quickly and at the best price. For haircut, bath, anal expressions, nails and teeth brush it costed $50 which was better than any other groomer in ventura. My dog, Candy, usually whines from separation anxiety but these people were so nice and warming to her that she didnt at all. They even gave her a nice bandana to make her even more stylish. I have been to 2 other groomers in town and they didn't listen to me and weren't willing to allow my puppy time to relax before they took her. They also didn't listen to how I wanted her groomed. I've brought my beautiful Maine Coon into Applause Four Paws on 3 occasions for a #4 lion cut. If gets rid of a LOT of length and makes self-grooming much less work for her. I stay in the shop with her while she gets her trim and I've always been happy with the way she is handled and cared for. The groomer (female - maybe the owner?) is kind and gentle to my little fur ball, even though she is extremely skittish around strangers and other animals. I have been very satisfied with the quality of their cuts and service though I finally purchased a set of clippers and do her cuts myself at home. It doesn't look nearly as good but it's just less stress on my scaredy-cat. I still highly recommend Applause Four Paws for long haired cats and would use them again! read more

I took my Maltese in here and they gave him what I can only describe as a poodle cut. They basically shaved him and left the ears really floppy. He looks ridiculous. They claimed that it was because he was badly matted, which he was, but my normal groomer has turned out a good looking dog under similar circumstances. I will not return to this business. read more

This place is great ! Our dog was getting quite stinky and luckily they had time to squeeze her in without an appointment. The people were very nice and accommodating to our shy pup. They did a fabulous job and Daisy came back looking shiny and smelling great. We mentioned her sensitive skin and they took extra care with her. she is no longer itchy!! They even showed us a cute picture of her during her bath time:) Lastly the price was awesome! A full bath -deep clean- sedative skin condition- brushing- teeth clean - anal gland expression - toe nails and more was only 35 bucks and was completed in just over an hour! Ayu and Aaron are by far the best grommers around. So very loving and kind towards all the animals. We bring our 2 dogs, and Aaron has no problem lifting our 150# American Mastif into the wash tub. She loves him so! Then the perfect cut for our little Pomeranian by Ayu. We can't thank you both enough for the kindness and love you showed to our newest family addition, a rescue cat, full of Sycamore ball stickers. Aaron gave her a bath and blow dry, and she is now burr free, soft and gorgeous! Ayu and Aaron always have room for our menagerie and let us know if and when to pay special attention to an issue, whether its how to keep them flea free or tangle free until their next visit. Prices are competitive and in my opinion, more affordable than what other shops charge and the level of service, love and professionalism can't be beat. Applause Four Paws is THE best! The guy that runs this place was nice enough, but when I picked up my Shih-Tzu, he looked semi-groomed. Kind of how he looks if I try to do it myself. When I got him home, I picked a dozen fleas off of him but hey, the price was right. From my experience, if the shampoo stays on for at least 3 minutes, it kills the fleas. Now I understand why he was done so quickly. Sorry to rag on a small, local business but next time I'll go elsewhere. read more

I have mixed reviews on this place. We used to take our dog (Siberian Husky) here and they did a pretty good job on her, once even finding a huge tick and removing it. Their groomers seem kind and patient. We were pleased enough to even bring our two cats. When we came to pick them up, they informed us that Cat #1 was a real doll, they loved her, and would take her anytime. Cat #2 was a devil, and we were NOT, under any circumstances, allowed to bring him back. They charged us full price for both, which I thought was a bit crazy considering that Cat #2 had about 1/4 of his body trimmed and the rest still in place. In fact, a week later, he looked as if he had never been groomed at all. I guess I paid for their trouble, but it just put me in an awkward situation, and i didn't appreciate paying full price for a job that wasn't even halfway done. Moral of the story here, don't bring an angry cat in, because you will pay to be told he is terrible. read more
