I had an amazingly positive experience with Apple Aire. I needed a new boiler and hot water heater. Prior to calling Apple Aire, I called 3 other companies for estimates. I had to pay 2 of the other companies just to come out and look at the job. The first company sent two technicians who did some adjustments to the boiler and said it was fixed. When I went to put it on, it was worse than ever and I was given a bill for the so called repair. The other 2 companies gave me estimates that were ridiculously high. Todd, from Apple Aire came out, took his time assessing the situation and gave me a great price for the job. They completed the work in one day. They are honest, efficient and conscientious. I used Apple-Aire for years, but I am sorry to say that they have become greedy, lazy, and can no longer be trusted. In an apparent effort to stay in business or perhaps just make more money, they have decided it is OK to overcharge and to even lie to their customers. I have a duplex property in Arvada, Colorado that I live on one side and have a renter on the other. Apple-Aire installed 2 brand new IntelliHot instant hot water combi-boilers on both sides just a few years ago. I was travelling in 2023 and got a call from my tenant that the boiler stopped working, so I called Apple-Aire out to fix it. Dillon with Apple-Aire called me back on the phone and said they could not fix it because their supplier could no longer get parts for it and the manufacturer was out of business, so they would have to replace the entire boiler with another brand new one, to tune of a little over $11,000. Needless to say, I was not happy, but I had to make an instant decision based on what they said because I had a tenant without heat or hot water. Then when I got back in town, since I had mechanical systems coverage with my homeowner's insurance, I put in a claim for reimbursement. To my shock, the insurance company said they would not cover the replacement because it was repairable. WHAT? I told them what Apple-Aire said, so they did some further research, called me back, and said what Apple-Aire said was nonsense and that the manufacturer was NOT out of business and also sent me internet links to suppliers that did have the parts needed. I then called the boiler manufacturer myself and discovered the insurance company was right and that they were indeed still in business, and that the parts were still available directly from them as well. I then also called the supplier (TM Sales in Denver) that Apple-Aire claimed they used and could not get the part they needed to fix it and was told by the supplier that they have never heard of Apple-Aire. I confronted Apple-Aire with this information and was shocked at what they told me. Todd, the owner of Apple-Aire said that even though the part may have been available elsewhere, if they cannot get it from their regular suppliers, they can't be bothered with checking for it elsewhere. WHAT THE HELL? What an unbelievably lazy and inconsiderate thing to say. They apparently would rather take the easy route for themselves and just charge me to put in a whole new system. It was painfully obvious that they didn't give a shit about me. On a side note, the manufacturer said they may be able to offer me some compensation for the relatively new boiler going out so soon, but they would need either the old boiler back or at least the serial number for it. I have asked Apple-Aire a number of times for that, and they have never responded and apparently don't want to be bothered with that either. I have appealed to Apple-Aire multiple times for some help on this, only to get a polite smile and a brush-off that they will get back to me and then hear nothing back from them... never, not even once. They live up to the high praise. Ray Shampine and his crew showed up early today loaded up in two trucks with our new furnace and AC units, and dug right in. That was about 8 a,m., and at just before 6pm there is cooool air blowing from our vents. I cannot believe they did the job in one day, tearing out the old furnace and installing a new one, the AC compressor outside and running those lines in and down to the basement. People have written a lot about them so I'll just say, the entire crew was polite, thoughtful, concerned about not making a mess (they picked up every scrap before they left) and several times during the day, stopped to explain what was going on, etc. I just don't see how you can do better than this. This is old time, old school, high quality American workmanship. Highly recommend. read more

I give them ZERO stars. First, Over a year ago I purchased a new furnace and AC unit from Apple Aire Heating & Cooling and they were all professional taking the large sum of my money. HOWEVER, I called this morning to discuss my heat not turning on. I explained that I changed the batteries twice (from my battery supply I keep of AA , AAA and C ) but the battery indicator kept flashing. She said okay I can have someone come out to check. Noel did not provide any information of the potential service fee at the time of the call and maybe I should go buy fresh batteries since the battery indicator was still flashing because based on their experience this happens. NO she was just silent!! She SHOULD have had the tech guy call me and walk through my issue and he would have told me to go buy fresh batteries just in case, since their would be a service fee if it ends up being that. The tech came and checked the system and we discussed to change the battery again and it worked. He told me that he had to charge me $69.99 for the service call since it was the battery. He did mention that new batteries do not last long and sometimes the larger battery pack of batteries do not last long. Lesson learned. Understandably, I was clearly upset because Noel did not provide that detail at the time of the call. Noel has been working their for quite sometime and I am sure this is not an isolated event that occured. Noel than proceeded to tell me that normally it would have been $125 but she only charged me $69.99, for "USER ERROR" she gave me a discount. She told me twice that it was "USER ERROR" (basically too bad, so Sad attitude) I told her that the tech guy already told me it was $69.99 they normally charge. So not only did she NOT disclose a potential cost for service but she lied that she gave me a discount. She was cavalier about my situation and frankly did not give a crap. read more

Jaw Dropping Over Charged of Labor. $599 for 75 mins of service and labor. We called AA to have a tech fix visit because our air conditioning unit was no preforming properly. Air was coming out of out interior vents but it was not cold air so we believed it the coolant was leaking or we needed more of it. We stated this is the request for visit. Tech 1 - came by looked and didn't have any coolant with him and said that another tech would have to come the next day. During the initial visit he told us it would be $12,000 dollars for a new unit if that is the route we wanted to go. We did not want to purchase a new unit as our current unit was 10 years old. Tech 2- came the next day and we asked what it would cost, he replied that he didn't know would have to look at it. He then went ahead and fixed the leak, added coolant, replaced the air filter before giving us a quote. This took 75 min. Then he returned in the house and asked for $850 dollars. The price seemed very high for the time and work. I then called to request a Invoice with a price that high , it would make more sense to see the charge by item. they told us that they would send it but they did charge us for the first visit since we chose them to fix it. After looking at the invoice my husband and I were shocked, jaw dropped. The parts were reasonable for the filter ($35) 5 gallons of coolant ($95) and Stop leak ($125) but then the top line was labor and service ($599) for 75 min during the second visit. We phoned them the next day and asked how they came up with a $599 service and labor charge. They did not have any kind of answer. The phone receptionist said she would have to talk to the owner and they sent a new invoice. The parts where the same from previous invoice but then the service line item had been updated. $125 for the first visit to look at it and preform diagnostics (which they told us they wouldn't charge us for), and $199 for the service that was done in the second visit and cleaning of the unit. I'm so disappointed that a family business would over charge other families. We will not ever be calling this business again for service. read more

Living in an old house in Evergreen means that basically every project around the house turns into a big one. Our furnace was from the 1970s, so we decided it was time to replace it. We found Apple Aire and Todd (the owner) was up at our house about a week later to do an assessment. He helped us brainstorm a solution for replacing our old unit since the size of it was something that was no longer made. We decided to relocate the furnace down into the basement which turned a small project into a pretty big one. Todd was great in calling our local inspector to find out if the move would be possible and once it was, sent his guys up a few days later to get to work. The installation took longer than expected (due to complications with our house), but the crew was positive and stayed late to ensure the job got done right. I think everyone at Apple Aire will admit that our project was not the most fun, but the entire staff (from Dave to Todd to Cassie) were helpful in ensuring that our furnace was installed correctly, passed inspection and will be an investment that will help our house for years and years to come. I will be using Apple Aire for future work around the house and would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs something done around their home. I am not sure what their prices look like compared to competitors, but I can without a doubt say that this company truly cares about their work and getting the job done right. The worst , I had a technician out a month ago to do a tune up on my furnace, He spent ten minutes working on it, he said that everything checked out and he also put my air filter in wrong . It was crammed in my furnace filter duct to where it almost hit my fan. I just had another technician from a different heating and air company do a tune up on my furnace and central a/c . The technician cleaned my fan , cleaned my a/c coils and drain pan. He also found trouble in my furnace and he fixed it and this technician from a different heating Ana air company checked my central a/c and found it low in Freon and he add a start up kit for my ac. My furnace works like its brand new and my a/c is working great and nice and cool in my house . Apple Aire you should learn better customer service and your $49.99 furnace tune up cleaning is a joke. The company that took care of my furnace and a/c needs was Summit heating and air . They are the best Apple aire you should learn from these guys . Never again Apple Aire. read more

Given that our 30-year-old old forced-air gas furnace was at the point to where we were getting a little concerned over its future reliability, we decided to have someone come out to have a look. Based on this family-run heating and air company's great reviews, I gave Apple Aire the first shot at the job. And then, upon meeting and discussing the issue with Shane, we decided to look no further. Shane Terry, fourth-generation member of the well-recommended team, came out to our house for a thorough inspection. Noting the scaly residue outside of the heat exchanger, along with a couple of hairline fractures in the exchanger itself, he recommended replacement. Even though the quote was quite reasonable, I was somewhat reluctant at first but, all things considered--worry over failure at the least opportune moment, along with other factors--we gave Shane the go-ahead. I liked it that he did not try to sell us up to a more expensive high-efficiency model (which I already had in mind). To the contrary, Shane explained that the extra expense and materials involved (would require a nearby floor drain, for example) would offset any future heating-bill savings, in our case. So we went with the new 2-stage Amana (manufactured by Goodman). [The heat exchanger on this unit comes with an amazing guarantee, by the way.] This was a big job. The old furnace did not have properly vented combustion air, for one thing--something of which I was already keenly aware. The only source of combustion air was from natural "infiltration," such as leaks from the bottom of an old garage door. In addition, in order to continue to use our brick chimney for exhaust air, an inside liner was required. Hence, Shane brought three other crew members with him (in order to get the complete job completed inside of one day). Darrell, Dave and Chris arrived on time and hit the ground running (Shane, who was following up on another job, arrived a little later)! While Dave was working on the new venting and other ductwork, Darrel and Chris proceeded to dismantle and remove the old furnace. Before long, they had the new unit in place, and matched up to the existing heating and return air ducts in the basement. They also installed a new filter box, which makes essential filter changes a breeze! Before, I had to get down on my hands and knees on the hard concrete floor, unplug a few wires (cutting my fingers in the process) just to get to the filter. Between that, and stuffing a new one in place, without bending or damaging it, this did not exactly encourage me to change filters as often as I should! While Darrell installed a new digital thermostat upstairs, Shane was finishing up some furnace wiring downstairs. Then we went through a final walk-through. These guys were thoroughly competent, pleasant, and overall great to work with (not that I did any work, myself!). The finished job was extremely tidy, and they kept things clean as they went. And, considering all of the work that had to be done, I was pleasantly surprised that they could get it all completed for the reasonable price as quoted. And, lastly, a word about the new Amana itself... In a sentence, we couldn't be happier with our new furnace! It runs a lot quieter than the old one (single stage). And, being a 2-stage, there's no unpleasant blast of hot air rushing through the ductwork on startup...which is one of the things I used to hate about forced air systems. With this dual-stage furnace, the first stage burns the natural gas at a reduced rate as it brings the air up to temperature (almost without notice). You would only see the second stage kick in on the colder days, where the full-capacity gas supply is required. [As you may have already imagined, a 2-stage system will reduce your heating bill.] Once again, we are more than happy with the job done by Apple Aire. We would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone! read more

LOOK NO FURTHER... If you're searching for a trustworthy and professional HVAC company, you can stop looking !!! When our A/C finally gave out this summer after (20) years, I started my quest for an honest and knowledgeable HVAC company to install a new system in our home. We decided that even though only our A/C had quit, we were going to replace both the A/C and the Furnace. This was a big purchase for us, so I wanted to make sure that I did my due diligence for the project. I sought out and received (7) quotes for our project !!! When I choose someone to do business with, having been in business for the last (40) years myself, I not only look for a fair price, I also rely on my gut instincts, about the company and the individual who has been sent out to gather the facts about our situation, and then provide a bid for the work. Of the (7) companies that I dealt with, some big and some small, the only person who I felt that I could trust 100 %, was Todd Terry, the owner of AppleAire Heating and Cooling !!! Todd brought up things about the new system, that no one else had bothered to mention !!! We ended up going with a "Daikin Fit" model. I had never heard about "Daikin", even though I had dealt with many HVAC commercial brands in my career. I researched both AppleAire and Daikin extensively, and was pleased when I found out that Daikin is the largest manufacturer of HVAC units in the world !!! As I was reading all of the reviews for AppleAire, they were the only company that I had received quotes from, that had almost all positive reviews. They weren't perfect, but no company can satisfy every customer, all of the time. Every other company who reviews I researched, had almost as many negative reviews, as positive ones, except for AppleAire. I believe strongly, that if a customer is dissatisfied enough to write a negative review, that review should be paid attention to, and not dismissed. Also, many of the companies who provided quotes, were too available, meaning that they could do the job the next day, and they ended up being far too pushy, which bothered me as well. With AppleAire, they were about (10) days out, which meant we had to deal with no A/C for those (10) days, so I hoped that I had made the right decision to go with AppleAire ? The install day came, and quickly I was pleased with what was about to take place. Todd Terry showed up himself, along with his son, Dylan Terry, first thing in the morning. They began by laying mats down from our garage entry door to the mechanical room in the basement, to protect our floors and our carpeting. Soon, (2) more installers, Edgar Rendon and Benito Hernandez showed up to help. They went to work on removing our old system and installing our new system. By 6:00 P.M. that night, the job was 100% completed !!! The workmanship was excellent both inside and outside our home. The Daikin Fit, is so quiet that you can hardly hear it come on !!! The team also made some adjustments to the way the filter system worked, and expanded the duct work right above the furnace, to help the airflow in our home !!! All of the workmanship, both inside and outside, was first class and very well done !!! I had one small cosmetic issue after the initial install, and Todd sent one his guys back on the next business day, to correct the issue to my satisfaction. It's been (10) days, and our home has never felt more comfortable !!! The air flow is vastly improved and the Daikin Fit and the Daikin One Thermostat, are working flawlessly. I'm a very organized person with high expectations for anyone I do business with, and AppleAire, Todd Terry, and his team exceeded my benchmarks in every way possible !!! My new units were registered by AppleAire with the manufacturer, so I didn't have to do it. I discovered Apple Aire by way of a flyer in my mailbox in 2004... Right after I bought my house. I had just tried out the furnace and huge flames were shooting out the front of it. I had no idea who to call so I just took a chance and called the number on the flyer. The response was immediate. Todd Terry the owner came out and explained to me that my 24-year-old furnace was shot. I arranged for him to install a new furnace and central air conditioning and also a water heater. He did a wonderful job. After a few years I lost touch with them as I kind of neglected my maintenance on the unit. On December 28, 2018 I had a furnace emergency. I woke up to a really cold house and it was 18° outside. I called five different companies including Apple Aire. Only Apple Aire returned my call. Cassie Terry told me they were booked solid but she offered to call me back to make sure I got help. Later that day when she checked on me, no one had called me back so she said she would send out her husband Shane Terry who still had several calls before me. I was grateful when Shane showed up at 7:30 PM and was able to repair my furnace. I later found out he had three more calls after me and worked until midnight. Without their help I would have had frozen pipes on top of me freezing. At the time I talked to Shane about replacing my central AC which was dying as well. In February 2019 right before a big sale Shane came out and quoted me a price for a new furnace and AC including the installation of more air return vents and wireless thermostat. Later that month he began installation with his two employees Darrell and Isaiah. They showed up right on time and worked tirelessly the entire day. Three days later they came back to complete the installation. During these many hours of work they left my home spotless. I now have a brand new Amana two stage variable furnace and single stage AC with a Ecobee 4 wireless thermostat. I love this system! My very average little house has never been more comfortable! Shane and Darrell did a beautiful job on this installation. You can see the craftsmanship when you look at it. The attention to detail is obvious even to a layman like myself. My utility bills have gone way down as well! It's such a challenge nowadays to find honest, caring and conscientious people to do work on your home. I feel so fortunate to have found this company. I ultimately chose Apple Aire based on a combination of knowledge and price. The technician who first came out to my home explained, in detail, the models and features of their HVAC line and which ones would be the best for my home. He did not try to up-sell me on something I didn't need and ultimately just wanted to provide the best solution. Wanted an estimate and/or analysis as to why current air conditioning unit not working. Tech spent one hour assessing the unit and charged me $225. He did try to charge the unit but then determined the condensing coil was damaged. Why did he not see damage to begin with? I truly did not expect that expense. He then gave me a quote to replace the damaged condensing coil that would take 6 hours. He quoted it at $4000!! Wow! $666 per hour!! No thanks. read more

Dylan was responsive throughout (which is a big deal in this industry) and answered every question we had, did not try to oversell us, provided a competitive price quote, quality work, cleaned up, was polite and kind in all interactions, addressed issues we brought to his attention, and made the experience better than expected. There were no complaints, no excuses, and they instilled confidence. Shane, Derrick, Dennis, (apologies for forgetting the woman who scheduled) were all great. When the work was done, the office promptly arranged for inspection with the city (when some companies bid doing the work without guarantee it would pass inspection) and offered a solid warranty on product/services and provided financing options. Apple Aire was fantastic. We had a leak and could not locate the source. Rob came out and spent HOURS of his time trying to troubleshoot the issue. In the end, we narrowed it down to the dishwasher. Rob graciously refused payment because he didn't actually fix anything, yet he took his time to check every possible source. I cannot speak highly enough about his honesty and integrity. Price gouging and hidden fees. This is the second time I've used them for our boiler. They first time they came out the I learned the price we would be charged was twice as much as the girl on the phone said. They didn't have the part on the truck the first time (a valve) but came back with it. I wasn't charged that time. This time they also didn't have the part on the truck (an ignitor). The guy said he was going to head to the shop and come back with it, no mention of a fee. This time I was charged $125 for him to go get the part not on the truck. This was in addition to the $199 labor charge and the cost of the $part. I could have ordered the part online and had it shipped overnight and payed less for delivery than they charged me. When I called to question the charge and ask why the guy didn't tell us about it the girl on the phone acted like he did us a favor. *UPDATE* After arguing back and forth with the girl on the phone a couple of times she said she would check with the owner about the charge. When a called back she told me the owner said it would stand. I told her it was obvious they didn't care about losing a customer and that I had already left a negative Yelp review and I would be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. She said the company didn't want that and she would refund me the $125. A check was mailed to me, hence this update. But I will still never use them again. read more

I did have to call and have them come back twice after work was finished and paid but they were very responsive and Matt spent time and showed all completed work with detail, very professional- he was very good and prob should have been sent with someone which is why I had to call again but they came right out and stood behind the quality of their work. I did not pay for any estimates and had them quote other work aside from this. I quoted 4 HVAC companies and they were priced competitive, I ultimately chose because they were so responsive from the start of quote and they were after install as well so I would recommend. read more

Learn from my mistake and do not invite these people into your home. Their service call is $125 whether they do anything or not. I was told I had a cracked heat exchanger on my furnace after the Technician removed one screw from the unit and made a visual inspection. The Tech never completed a carbon monoxide test but merely advised me to turn off the furnace and then proceeded to quote +$9K pricing for a new furnace & AC unit. Two visits later from other contractors and one from Xcel Energy confirmed no leaking carbon monoxide & no need to replace these appliances. Apple Aire employed scare-tactics and deep discounts (after inflated pricing) and additionally got paid $100 for their self-motivated advice. This $100 lesson taught me to avoid any repair person who doesn't give free estimates & go with word of mouth from your friends. I was experiencing trouble with my swamp cooler and had Apple Aire come out to fix for me. On the good side, staff is friendly and they were out the next day for repairs and on time (although just barely within the time window given to me). On the disappointing side, service call is $125 (seemed a bit out of the range of "normal") and I was charged $100 for cleaning. There was debris stuck in the lines. Again, seemed a little pricy for a cleaning but... swamp cooler was working when the technician left and I was glad to have the cool air. However - the tech failed to clean out the bottom of the cooler so, 8 hours later, lines clogged again. I cleaned out the lines again myself, cleaned out the bottom of unit and now we have cool air for a week straight. I just feel that if I'm being charged a fairly high price for "cleaning", a thorough cleaning should have been done so that things functioned properly from there on out. read more
