I wish that I had met these folks prior to having my furnace replaced by another local company, with a lot of positive reviews, and found out that many appear to be completely bogus! The other company charged me $4300 for a warranty furnace replacement and after I said that's insane, they 'reduced' it to $3500... which I paid as it was last December, very cold temps. The $3500 was highway robbery and they had to send tech out to my house four times to bring the installation up to code. I immediately looked for another company to service and double check the installation and was referred to Day and Night. Sharmain one of the owners assured me that they'll do the right thing and take care of any maintenance issues on the furnace. Well, they came on by and inspected the furnace and did some minor tune ups. The way I was treated, professionally and with courtesy confirmed that their company, Day and Night is a bonfire, well established HVAC company that stands by their word. I had to get my AC replaced as it was over 30 years old. I called and they sent out a very knowledgeable person within a few days that worked with my schedule. They recommended what I needed to have AC again, and had installers come soon after that. There was one complication after install and when I called they sent out the installer THAT day and he fixed everything. AC works great and I am so relieved to not have had a traumatic experience with creepy incompetent men. read more

I had what I thought was a gas leak. A technician from Day and Night Mechanical came out the same day, which was awesome. Day and Night did furnace work at the residence a few years ago. It was a gas leak on the water heater, and he advised me to contact the installer in case there's a warranty. He turned off the gas. I'm thankful that he was able to locate the leak and that we could feel safe. However, it was 169.07 for the service call. That seemed steep. I would've appreciated knowing the cost up front. I think the utility company would've checked for free, but hindsight is 20/20. Fingers crossed for the original water heater installer to not cost too much. We purchased our home 2 years ago. Our furnace went down 2 days before 20-degree temps were forecasted. Being a first time Colorado homeowner, I had NO idea who to call and was terrified of having a random person/company come in our home and give me the ol "sir, sorry to say, you need a new system". I have heard and read horror stories of contractors taking advantage of unknowing customers and my knowledge of the subject left me at their mercy. Luckily, a coworker referred me to Day and Night Mechanical. Their staff was friendly and professional from the initial phone call checking availability to leaving us warm and cozy, just in time for the upcoming storm. Their technician was punctual and polite. He wore shoe covers, got along with our crazy dogs, and even wiped my son's filthy fingerprints off our thermostat and wall. He even took the time to explain the issue to me and my wife. In the month of April we called day and night for service because our furnace was blowing cold air. The tech came out the next day and charged us for a gas valve. Then a tech had to come out a few weeks later and charged us for something else. Now in November our heater stopped working and we called another company to come look at the furnace. He smelled gas and saw that our gas valve was loose and he was smelling gas. Our ignitor was damaged from day and night putting sandpaper to it, so we had to replace the ignitor! Also, the gas valve was replaced, because the tech that came out from day and night used the old gas valve! Yet we were charged for a new one! If you use their services, check, check, check! Watch them every step of the way and look at every part! Insist on getting the old parts! I believe that now they fried our furnace, and we might be charged for a circuit board!!! We woke up Sunday to a frigid house. After calling over 10 companies and either no one answering or being told since it was a weekend, the prices were doubled, it dawned on us to call Day and Night, the company who installed our furnace at our old house. (You see, we just moved into this new place 2 months ago and was told by the inspector that we would be lucky if our 24 year old furnace would last through winter). Kelly came out, fixed the igniter and we were back in warmth! Monday morning we woke up again to a frigid house. My husband called Day and Night, Kelly came back out at 6:45 a.m., replaced the fuze and determined that there was an issue with the motor. At this point, we realized we needed a new furnace which was scheduled for install on Wednesday. They brought over space heaters to help us stay warm until the install. I am writing this review in a warm house, made possible by Ben and the rest of the Day and Night crew. I strongly recommend this company for a myriad of reasons - they're prompt, clean, efficient and for me, this was the most important, they did not dismiss my questions because I'm a woman. They answered every one I had with patience and respect. I've read a number of reviews of this company, and they seem to be either entirely positive, or entirely negative. Well, I don't know what the truth is, but I have to write another absolutely positive review, and I will use this company again, at least until I have a reason not to. I have a Hybrid, Tankless Water Heater. It is working fine, and has never caused me a bit of trouble. In fact, I love it, and recommend the same for anyone looking to save money, help the environment, and still have plenty of hot water. The company that manufactured my water heater, Eternal, sent me a letter about a problem some people had been having with a pressure switch on my model of water heater. Even though mine was working fine, they said they wanted to be proactive about the problem to avoid any possible property damage caused by leaks, and that they would replace the switch entirely at their cost if I would just hire someone locally to do the job. They recommended the original installer, so that's whom I called first. The original installer, who was supposed to have received notice of the proactive fix, knew nothing about the problem, claimed he hadn't been notified, and was not interested in doing the work. I was not concerned since he lived a far way away, and it was a long drive for what the company claimed was a 15 minute job. So, I contacted another company that had done work for us in the past, and told them about the problem. They, too, knew nothing about the problem, or the switch, but, despite their lack of knowledge, they still knew it would cost me $489 to send a technician out. To me, that's just a red flag saying, "We really don't want the work, but we don't want to be appearing to turn down a job, so we'll quote a ridiculous, outrageous price that you will decline." That was AAA Service, and we probably won't use them again for anything. Finally, I called Eternal back again, and they gave me a list of contractors in the area that were certified to repair, sell, and service Eternal products. The first one I called actually seemed angry that I phoned, and didn't know how Eternal got their number. I was getting a little frustrated, and then I contacted DAy & Night. It was like "Day & NIght" talking to these guys in contrast to talking to the others. I barely mentioned "Eternal," and they informed me they were aware of the problem, had the part in stock, and could come right out to fix it. So, I set an appointment. My experience with appointments of this type has been that the technicians miss their window, or they phone when they are supposed to be there to tell me they'll be late. This guy was actually there 10 minutes early. We don't wear shoes in our house to protect the floors and rugs, and he had no problem slipping on booties. I had prepared the service area ahead of time, took him there, and he started to work. He did all the necessary shut-offs, took off the back of the unit, and started to work. He was in an out of there in 15 minutes, just the way Eternal said he would be. I was pleased with the quick turnaround, but, after reading these other reviews, I am holding back judgment on the job for the time being. I watched him almost the entire time, he used not tools, (except for the Phillips head screwdriver to take the cover off), and I never actually saw the part he replaced. I did see a part I thought was the replacement part on the floor near the worksite, but I cannot say for certain that he actually removed and replaced the defective switch. He assured me it wasn't leaking, and was talking on the phone to someone I assumed was his dispatcher as he left the job. I never really had a chance to check his work. I don't know if he was just in a hurry, or if his was a scheme to keep me from checking the work, and to get paid for doing nothing. For the time being, I will say that I was pleased with the way the company handled the problem, especially in regard to the way other companies avoided it. I will also say that the technician was prompt, friendly, and seemed to know how to handle the problem. If everything works out from here, i.e., the switch doesn't leak, and my warranty remains intact, then I'll be a happy camper, and this review will be deserved. If not, I'll be back in here to note that, too. I will also say that I am both surprised by the number of technicians available in the area, and how many don't seem to need the work. It seems to me that increased competition would have people scrambling for jobs instead of avoiding them, and it makes me wonder if they might not be overcharging instead of working harder. The owner came out to look at my heating/ plumbing problem. He was nice and professional. He must have told me at least five times that he had the lowest prices in town. That sounded good, but I wasn't going to just go with the first company that gave me a quote.The second company that came out did the job for $5,500 less than Day and Night Mechanical using the exact same brand and model. My furnace quit and it was snowing outside. I'm a pretty handy guy. But I'm not a Furnace Tech or a plumber and I know when I need to call for help, especially when my wife's huddled around a space heater. In this case, After dealing with Applewood and Time Plumbing, I decided to give Day and Night a try. I got a Groupon for $59 and... this Groupon actually saved me $1000 (!). Day and Night Mechanical Solutions (Anthony) was an excellent reprieve from Applewood (comission based) and Time (who was late TWICE), who both wanted to charge me $1300+. For $235, I got my furnace fixed by Day and Night. The coil needed to be cleaned, and that's it. The limit switch was NOT broken and the motor was NOT burned up, as I was told by Applewood Plumbing and Time Plumbing. I checked out prices of the limit switch and the motor. Time Plumbing increased the price of the limit switch from $30 to $395, and said they wouldn't do anything on the furnace until I paid them $395. It was a wide-eyed standstill in my basement... Nice mark-up guys. And Applewood Plumbing wanted to charge TWICE as much to clean the coil as Day and Night offered... not to mention, Applewood wanted me to buy a new motor. The reason I got three quotes on my furnace, was because I didn't have $1300 and I didn't get a good feeling from Applewood and Time, and BOTH COMPANIES were "ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN" about their diagnosis of my furnace. I will definitely be using Day and Night in the future. Anthony was honest, he was real, he didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need and he gave me solid advice that made sense and was logical. If it weren't for John at Day and Night Mechanical, I would still have a 50% efficient, 38 year old furnace with all of the health risks and an insane gas bill. John came in and looked at my home and with a super positive attitude made a bid that the other guy couldn't touch. I simply could not have afforded the other guy. I took a chance with John's company and boy did his crew deliver. They moved my furnace to a crawl-space which freed up valuable squares in my basement. They did all of the electrical, gas, plumbing and duct work necessary to make the move. This family owned business is very professional and they get the job done, as bid. Very impressive. I had a technician come out because our AC condensation drain line was clogged and AC was not working well either. First day tech came out with an almost empty NO pressure tank and obviously clog remained clogged. Nothing done that day but I owed money. Next day she came out and was not able to unclog again with a full tank. Thats ok, not her fault, BUT, as she was there, she did not even turn the AC on to see if the de-clogging attempt may have worked, nor was any check up done on AC unit. After $152, I was left with a non working AC, no maintenance check, no coil cleaning, NOTHING. Our HOA will no longer be using this company. I do however appreciate the following: staff was very kind, they came on time both days, and had a fair price to show up. read more

We had a new Amana furnace and air conditioning unit installed last year 2019. Day & Night did the installation and it was not only problem free, but also one the most reasonable in cost for our 3100 sq ft home. They took care of everything that was needed for the rebates as well! A year later and I have also had our house painted, including carpentry work, the roof and windows have been replaced and my Mom's house has had to have plumbing repair. Every other service provider it has been a struggle to get what I have paid for or to get the job done right. They were not only concerned about correctly installing the actual AC, but also about how the installation looked on my deck and fit within the confines of the space, to maximize it's use. Day & Night Mechanical Solutions, Inc. 3270 West Alameda Avenue, Denver, CO 80219 I purchased a Groupon to have Day & Night Mechanical come out and conduct a furnace tune-up and cleaning for me. I gentleman seemed genuinely nice and sincere, however I must say that I am deeply saddened that this company must be taking advantage of homeowners with this deal as a way to sell furnaces. He told me that not only did I need a new furnace that could cost me between $3650-$4100 but that my old furnace was leaking carbon monoxide into my house and he showed me a meter that was reading at a 50 ppm reading which as he explaining is deadly. The meter should be at zero and he needed to shut my system down. In the report he said my house registered 65 ppm by the time he finished the test. We are getting prepared to go into the coldest of winter and I have three kids that of course mean my world to me so I was terrified and devastated to think we could have all perished and that my detector had not properly worked. I told him that I had no money and could absolutely not pay that kind of money. He seemed like he really cared and even told me that his boss was not a villain and would work with me on the financial aspect of things, but this was very serious. I understood how serious it was as a parent I was terrified and needed to speak to my husband. He encouraged me to "Google" the proper levels of carbon monoxide allowed but never encouraged a second opinion or Xcel energy to come out as my mom did when I spoke with her as she had heard of companies taking advantage of consumers. I called Xcel out and they sent a technician immediately. He told me that the mechanic had placed an unnecessary hole in my heater return (a hole) and that my house was not registering even a fraction of a of a ppm in fact it was at zero the entire time he was here. His meter must be calibrated by law every 30 days and he was confident that my house was safe from carbon monoxide. REALLY??? This guy was scamming me! If I had just had the money I would have forked it out to save my family knowing that the current furnace is nearly 20 years old and that it could have been bad and I am not a repair person, but to play on the safety of my family like that should be against the law. I got a groupon for a tune up. Nice guy came out and told me I need a new a/c and furnace. Furnace was working just fine but the a/c wasn't very cold. Quoted me thousands of dollars for both. We went all winter before getting a second opinion. Second opinion guy came out and fixed our a/c for $200, said its a common problem that happens all the time. He even had the part on him because it's such a common issue. If you do have to use day & night, get a second opinion before you have them do anything major! Either the technician was trying to pull a fast one on us or he didn't know what he was doing, either way I won't be back. read more

Interesting. The furnace was working just fine when I called to have it serviced for winter. I saw their ad through a valu-ad, and called for the winter tune-up of $49.99. After looking at the furnace, the guy said the ignitor was bad, and he could offer a discounted rate of $299 to 'fix' the part that was working when he arrived, if I agreed to pay today. If I 'waited' it would cost up to $500, because of course it would go out during a holiday and then there would be extra fees, etc. The ignitor was working fine as he tested it, and now does not work the first time I used it after his visit. I didn't care for his snooze you lose, fix it now or regret it later, and adamant and pushy upsell of unnecessary services for a high end furnace that was checked out a few months back by another professional HVAC. Since the furnace had been working brilliantly up until then, and it is a newer (4 years, 95% efficiency), I find it very peculiar that it now does not work, all but 10 days after his visit and findings of a faulty ignitor. If he hadn't been so pushy, I would not have been remotely suspicious that he messed with the ignitor after our discussion. read more

I had a technician come out from a Living Social deal I purchased. He told me I had a gas leak and wanted to charge me over $500 for a repair. Xcel energy came out after for an unrelated issue and verified there was NO GAS leak. Also, the part that may or may not have needed to have been replaced is a $30 part that takes 5 minutes to install. They wanted to charge me $167. Not cool. Taken for a "trip Charge" ride. I called to get my 1 yr. old furnace started and mentioned that the problem seemed electrical. 2 hrs. later two guys came driving up in their person car w/o ID. after tearing apart an electrical outlet next to the furnace, the guy who was not an trainee (apparently) said that the problem was electrical & that he couldn't work on it. He even called the home office to ask if they should charge the Trip Charge. Day & Night seemed to want their $69,95 fee, even though nothing was done except dismantling my outlet while not being qualified to fix the problem. I paid the fee Good riddance!! read more

So disappointed. I got a groupon for D&N to come clean and tune up my furnace. Apparently I needed a new gas valve and was given a time the next day for an appointment (conveniently needed a $650 repair???) He doesn't put my furnace back correctly so the fan runs constantly unless I manually turn off my furnace on the unit. Not only does the fan blow constantly, the heat doesn't kick on, so hello waking up to a freezing house. Day 2 not only is the guy 30 minutes late for the 2hour window given, he throws the gas valve in, instead of rescheduling my appointment (I had to leave for work). Does hasty work and by the time I get home from work my pilot light won't light. So now they will have to come out for a third day in a row while I wake up to a freezing house, again. Wow. I have an LG washer dryer combo unit that stopped drying, and no one in the mountains would touch it because it is an LG. I needed a place to drop off the unit, as I transported it from the mountains, and the certified LG repair folks only make house calls, which was not an option for me. One time the technician forgot the right tools, the other time they called because their technicians called in sick. Outside of a slight apology, they offered nothing for the inconvenience. My wife bought a groupon for a cleaning and a tune-up but when the serviceman showed he was suppose to call when he was on his way over but he called when he was at our rental. I had to drop everything and get over to the house. When he came in and saw our furnace he said it needed to be replaced because it was an older furnace. How can someone make a recommendation without looking at the unit? I stated that the furance works well and needs a cleaning. He mentioned because it was rental he could report to the state and make us purchase furance. He mentioned the unit is emitting a deadly amount of Carbon Monoxide and that is the reason for the report. I asked how he knew and said it was an older unit it was emitting the gas. I said we have the groupon for the cleaning and to give me quotes for the furance. He cleaned the furance but to have to covience someone to do their job is inexcusible. You can make those recommendations but to try to strong arm someone into making a purchase is not good business. I saw other people have had a similar issue with this company. The funny thing is that we had another company come in inspect the furance and they said for it's age it runs like it is 10 years old and nothing is wrong. I think I bought the same Groupon that the other reviewer bought, and I was actually told the same thing. But the thing is, I think we really DID have carbon monoxide issues. I did some research, and the symptoms we had been exhibiting all fell under carbon monoxide poisoning. I was seeing things, and had a constant sense of dread, especially when I was in our basement, where the furnace was. I was also losing my balance ALOT. These are signs that CO has affected your central nervous system. My fiancee was also getting headaches and tired, also signs of CO poisoning. Our furnace was 30 years old, and wasn't getting the house warm, and we realized we'd been scammed by another service company that had come out to "repair" it a few weeks earlier. The guys from Day & Night walked us through what needed to be done, and were even courteous when I requested that they not smoke prior to coming to my home to install the furnace (I'm super sensitive to cigarette smoke). Yes, I shelled out $3,500 for the new furnace, but since then, our house has been warm and we have not been having the previous symptoms we'd been having from the CO exposure. All of the guys were friendly and courteous. I also did my homework with some other review sites, and these guys got an A+ all around. We'll use them again! read more

After the inspector for our new house found a gas leak at the furnace the seller and Realtor picked Day & Night to come out to fix the leak and perform maintenance. They were also supposed to move the emergency shut off switch as it was very hard to get to. The tech told the Realtor that "a six year old could reach that switch" and based on that the seller refused to have it fixed. His take on it was that a "pro" had said it was fine. Problem is, we dont keep a six year old around. If you arent a six year old with small hands you have to lean against a wall, use a flashlight and fight to get your hand in the space. Keep in mind, this is for EMERGENCIES! On Friday I came home to no heat. I have a family member in the HVAC business who came to our rescue. The first thing he found was the gas leak that was supposed to be fixed was still there. While repairing it he found that they hadnt used putty during the poorly done non-repair but silicone that hadnt set up. It looked like vaseline! Also, the gas shut off was in the wrong spot and should have been moved by any tech who knows code. It was obvious no real maintenance was done. Not surprising sine the Realtor had told us the tech had only been there for about thirty minutes (he took that as a good sign and that things must be in perfect working order). That should be a red flag that they've done next to nothing, and certainly didnt bother to look at the very old ignitor......which was why I had no heat. I've advised the Realtor I used to say NO to any other Realtor who picks them. read more
